Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Ronnie Jams: Tapping media.
It's time.
[00:00:23] Kenny Thunder: Time for the Burning River Sportscast. Well, the preseason is over and we are days away from the real thing. There's enough here that in a normal year it would be normal to be excited, to have some hope, some optimism about this team in our future. The young wide receivers look good. The offensive line rebuilt and shows promise. The defense maintains veterans in key position groups. Sadly, despite several things working in their favor, this season already feels like another organizational failure. It already feels lost. Lost because of a head coach who's already vocalized that this team isn't interested in what the fans want. Who's already lying to you about this quarterback room and who gives them the best chance to win. Who's lying to himself, masquerading as the decision maker while clearly taking orders from the top of the house. Almost nobody thinks they're doing the right thing to start the season, not even the head coach. And if Todd Monken doesn't believe, why should you? We'll break it all down for you. Next on the Burning River Sportscast.
[00:01:26] Ronnie Jams: Tell me, will there be strippers in cocain?
[00:01:29] Kenny Thunder: I know a lot of things, know
[00:01:30] Ronnie Jams: a lot about video games. You know how I know you're a nerd?
Go. Do it. Do it.
[00:01:35] Kenny Thunder: Do it.
[00:01:35] Ronnie Jams: Do it.
[00:01:36] Kenny Thunder: Do it. Do it.
[00:01:37] Ronnie Jams: It was an offensive explosion and Dylan Gabriel was at the center of it. Led the way. You heard that right. All five, four of them. How many people are in the world? Like 7 billion or something stupid?
[00:01:46] Kenny Thunder: Like time to play the game.
[00:01:50] Ronnie Jams: And also I want to say a big F you to Chad Johnson.
[00:01:53] Kenny Thunder: I was trying to use cats to heal me and little did I know it would be my demise.
[00:01:58] Ronnie Jams: I hope that's how you go. That would be the greatest day of my linebacker, Edifon Olafosio.
[00:02:07] Kenny Thunder: There's the chess player from Omaha, Nebraska. We would refer to him as the former CEO of a multi billion dollar Bezos.
[00:02:15] Ronnie Jams: A chess player from Omaha.
[00:02:17] Kenny Thunder: I don't know. I don't know what Jeff Bezos does.
[00:02:19] Ronnie Jams: Well, the Browns pick him up and cut ties with Shador Sanders. That's the big rumor going around.
[00:02:23] Kenny Thunder: It's like big news.
[00:02:24] Ronnie Jams: Is it going to happen? Is that the rumor?
That's the rumor. Deshaun Watson, who you name as the starting quarterback, even though he's dog on the field and dog off the field.
[00:02:35] Kenny Thunder: No, Bone loves the kids.
Not like that. You know. You know he likes his kids.
[00:02:40] Ronnie Jams: What is happening?
Least gassed up I've ever been during gassed up. But it was worth it.
[00:02:46] Kenny Thunder: What do octopi dream of when they take a little octopi news.
[00:02:51] Ronnie Jams: Did you prepare a song for that
[00:02:53] Kenny Thunder: Bad of the Bone.

[00:05:09] Kenny Thunder: Come along, come along, come along.
[00:05:24] Ronnie Jams: All right. The burning of a new story of the week. GTA 6.
[00:05:27] Kenny Thunder: It's finally here.
[00:05:28] Ronnie Jams: It's coming.
Like coming, coming. It's coming.
It's coming. November 19th to be exact.
Apparent.
People have been waiting for this game for like 12 years.
[00:05:40] Kenny Thunder: Have you not been waiting for this game?
[00:05:42] Ronnie Jams: Or so I've been told. I. I have not been waiting for this game. I. You're talking to a guy that did that. I don't even have a gaming system right now.
[00:05:49] Kenny Thunder: I mean, you got to have one. Even you don't play it.
[00:05:53] Ronnie Jams: Apparently I was collecting dust. Is this, is this the point where I know I'm like old because I don't even have a gaming system currently.
[00:05:59] Kenny Thunder: I mean, you gotta just have one. Just, just in case the mood strikes you. The mood never strikes, but in case it does, you need to be prepared.
[00:06:06] Ronnie Jams: That one time where I'm like, I'm gonna play like my wife and kids are out of town.
[00:06:10] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, like if your wife and kid
[00:06:12] Ronnie Jams: leave, I'm going to, I'm going to play video games for 36 hours straight.
[00:06:15] Kenny Thunder: They just leave on their own vacation without you for a couple of days.
[00:06:18] Ronnie Jams: You could place like, what would you do while I was gone? Not much.
[00:06:23] Kenny Thunder: This game's been in development for like 12 or 13 years.
[00:06:26] Ronnie Jams: Okay.
[00:06:26] Kenny Thunder: Literally since like the last one came out, they've been developing this one.
[00:06:30] Ronnie Jams: Oh. Without even having to ask my questions. You've answered them. My questions were going to be Kenny, what say you? Are you excited? I mean, seems like you're pretty excited.
[00:06:38] Kenny Thunder: I'm excited. GTA is like a rite of passage. Like you, you know, you can steal cars and drive real fast and it
[00:06:45] Ronnie Jams: was the, it was the original video games cause bad life events to happen.
[00:06:50] Kenny Thunder: Well, that's true. It is naughty.
Yeah. I mean you can do all kinds of stuff. I mean I've, I've heard in the new version like even carjacking someone is like a whole thing now you gotta like hacking electronic key. I guess. I don't know. It's like real life.
[00:07:07] Ronnie Jams: No way. Yeah, I know you live vicariously through this game. So tell me, will there be strippers in cocaine?
[00:07:14] Kenny Thunder: I don't. But, but if I do play it, there would be.
[00:07:18] Ronnie Jams: You'd be the guy that spent his entire first week playing this. You're in the, you're in the club.
[00:07:24] Kenny Thunder: And I need the code for unlimited money so I can go to the Cat Scratch Club.
Yeah, I, I heard that they've brought in like a whole outside like media development agency to make like full fledged like television programming. Like, like literal shows within the game. Like just literal media and entertainment and newscasts and live broadcasts that will just happen as you're playing. Like it used to be just kind of like listen to the radio and there were a few pre recorded radio shows and they'd play over and over and over again. Like there's going to be just content on content on content.
[00:07:59] Ronnie Jams: Like it's just live content.
[00:08:00] Kenny Thunder: Apparently the game itself has about 80 hours or more of like actual playthrough, which like I know you were big Assassin's Creed guy. Like that was like, that was a long game to get through.
[00:08:11] Ronnie Jams: How long then it became depended on the game. But I mean, yeah, it was about probably like 80 to 100 hours.
[00:08:17] Kenny Thunder: No, zero chance. It was more like 25. You don't realize like how many hours of gaming that is to like get through the story. Because you don't usually play 25 straight hours. It takes you a couple of days.
[00:08:28] Ronnie Jams: I mean, I guess you're probably right, but I just felt like 80 to 100 hours of.
[00:08:32] Kenny Thunder: I mean you would probably play that in real time. It's kind of like a football game. It's four hours long. It's. Well, it's 60 minutes long, but it's four hours long. Right, Right. Yeah. That's not. Video games are. Right. Like because you know, even if you play through, you might die a few times. You're not just going to get through it.
[00:08:48] Ronnie Jams: That's fair.
Yeah. I was a big Assassin's Creed fan back in the day. So I mean that's like, I guess I should pick up a gaming system in case the mood strikes. But the problem with Assassin's Creed or really any game that's like really this type of game, it's like eventually they become the same game over and over again. So it's like this can be just the same thing as it always was.
[00:09:05] Kenny Thunder: GTA has been the same game since it was released. Carjackings and hookers.
[00:09:10] Ronnie Jams: Again, your life, if you. There were no rules. So I mean that's basically what you use this for, right? You're like, if I had no morals or if I had the same morals, but I didn't have to actually be a human, a decent human on a regular basis. This is, this would be my life.
[00:09:27] Kenny Thunder: I play it more like that Ryan Reynolds movie, like where he was in the video game.
[00:09:31] Ronnie Jams: What's that called?
[00:09:34] Kenny Thunder: Free Guy.
[00:09:35] Ronnie Jams: Free Guy. That's what it was.
[00:09:36] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Like I just, like I just go to the bank to actually withdraw cash. I don't rob it.
[00:09:41] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, fair.
[00:09:42] Kenny Thunder: Like I want to I'd like to stand in the teller line and order some checks, please.
[00:09:46] Ronnie Jams: Hey, you're pretty, pretty spot on, by the way. Assassin's Creed 1 was about anywhere between 15 to 30 hours.
[00:09:52] Kenny Thunder: I know a lot of things, know
[00:09:53] Ronnie Jams: a lot about video games. You know how I know you're a nerd?
I didn't know until I just searched this. Now I know that you officially love video games.
[00:10:01] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, but like, but you said right, like that felt like 80 hours, right? Like a 25 hour game probably feels like 80 hours. So an 80 hour game. Imagine how long it would take you to get through an 80 hour game.
[00:10:11] Ronnie Jams: The new one of the newer ones, Assassin's Creed Valhalla. 61 hours for the main story and 152 plus hours to get 100% completion.
[00:10:20] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, well, well, I mean, but that's
[00:10:22] Ronnie Jams: not, that's not the story.
[00:10:23] Kenny Thunder: The main GTA completion probably take you like 400 hours.
[00:10:26] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that's wild.
[00:10:27] Kenny Thunder: And that's a lot of gaming because that's like a thousand hours, like playtime.
[00:10:31] Ronnie Jams: You know what's wrong with video games nowadays?
You don't lose, you just, you just die. And then you come back and play again.
[00:10:37] Kenny Thunder: Well, if you died once and it was over, it wouldn't be a very fun game.
[00:10:40] Ronnie Jams: No, that was what was best about the games, like growing up. Think of all the best games on like SEGA and Nintendo and shit growing up, man. Like the best part about it was they were basically unbeatable.
[00:10:50] Kenny Thunder: You got enough coins and rings, you could live forever.
I mean, I feel like it wouldn't be fun to play a video game where you died once and it's over. Because that's like the game I'm already playing.
[00:11:01] Ronnie Jams: What's your favorite Sega or PlayStation game?
PlayStation 1.
[00:11:06] Kenny Thunder: Original PlayStation.
Well, hold on. I mean, look, you just threw a lot at me.
[00:11:14] Ronnie Jams: I mean, just old school game in general. What's your favorite old school game?
[00:11:18] Kenny Thunder: You know, I got a couple. I mean Sega like Sonic 2 was great with tails and knuckles. You fly around and you had a,
[00:11:26] Ronnie Jams: like a limited number of lives. You had like eight lives. And then he died.
[00:11:29] Kenny Thunder: Unless you get enough rings, you keep going.
[00:11:32] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, but typically you did it eventually and then you started to die.
[00:11:38] Kenny Thunder: My favorite game of all time is Super Mario Brothers 3 on the old NES.
[00:11:41] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. That was a good one.
[00:11:43] Kenny Thunder: And you know, I know all the tricks and trade secrets there where you
[00:11:46] Ronnie Jams: can get worlds and all that.
[00:11:48] Kenny Thunder: You can get 99 lives if you mess the. Put the turtle in between the cannons and it just keeps going forever.
And. And Tecmo bowl is my favorite of all time probably.
[00:12:01] Ronnie Jams: So there was some cheat codes within the game there. It wasn't actually cheat because there's people you weren't allowed to be because they were unstoppable.
[00:12:06] Kenny Thunder: PlayStation 1 probably cool borders. Twisted Metal was good.
[00:12:10] Ronnie Jams: Twisted Metal is good.
But again, a lot of these games, you could die.
You just lose lives. You're dead. I suppose so.
[00:12:16] Kenny Thunder: I mean the worst part about the
[00:12:17] Ronnie Jams: one that came to mind when I said SEGA was toejam and Earl, that one was the man and you would. You would die. There's also a very underrated game on the original SEGA was like. Well, a couple of them was like the old Disney games, you know, I'm talking about like there was like Lion King and Aladdin and the Little Mermaid actually that they were all like super freaking hard.
[00:12:37] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, yeah, those were good games. I mean I miss the old cartridge games. You blowing them and blow the dust
[00:12:43] Ronnie Jams: out, you would miss that.
[00:12:46] Kenny Thunder: But GTA 6 is here finally. Yeah, our long lost cousin.
[00:12:50] Ronnie Jams: I'm just. Yeah, we digress there a little bit. But GTA 6 is here. So.
Coming up November 19th through the end of the season, Kenny will no longer be with us.
[00:13:00] Kenny Thunder: I've seen a lot of dudes are taking PTO for like the whole week that it comes out the release week. And a lot of women are mad. Their wives are not happy.
[00:13:08] Ronnie Jams: These dudes must not have children because
[00:13:11] Kenny Thunder: that's probably fair bet.
But some of them probably do. I mean there's dads out there that have kids that game still that'll take gaming runs.
[00:13:19] Ronnie Jams: It'll take off an entire week to play gta.
[00:13:22] Kenny Thunder: Hey, it's your pto.
[00:13:25] Ronnie Jams: I guess so I'm not gonna do also your funeral.
I'm not gonna do it. But so yeah, that's it. A GTA 6 is coming out. Kenny's excited. He's gonna play all 87 hours of gameplay in the first two days.
[00:13:44] Kenny Thunder: The worst part about those old games, the old cartridge games was you didn't necessarily. It wasn't that you died, the game was over. But when you turned it off, the game was over.
[00:13:52] Ronnie Jams: You couldn't save.
[00:13:53] Kenny Thunder: You can make it all the way to the Dr. Robotics
[00:13:58] Ronnie Jams: Level 7.
[00:13:59] Kenny Thunder: Then when you had to go to school the next day, like you lose all your progress.
[00:14:03] Ronnie Jams: Sex Crash Bandicoot is another good one.
[00:14:05] Kenny Thunder: Crash Bandicoot was fun.
[00:14:06] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, same thing. You died.
[00:14:08] Kenny Thunder: Eventually I got a digital download of the. Of the old on my. On the PlayStation 5 or whatever I've got now fair.
[00:14:15] Ronnie Jams: GTA 6.
[00:14:16] Kenny Thunder: GTA 6.
[00:14:17] Ronnie Jams: November 19th.
And before we get into the the rest of the show here, Bernie, we got a giveaway.
[00:14:25] Kenny Thunder: We got. We got a Bernie giveaway.
[00:14:27] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So that's right. For the fourth year in a row we are giving away some autograph Brown's memorabilia. [00:15:04] Kenny Thunder: That's the day they named Shador the starter.
[00:15:06] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And we will be announcing the winner that night on our live show to recap that game. So around 8:30, 9:00pm that night.
[00:15:14] Kenny Thunder: Call it whatever you want. It's a giveaway.
[00:15:15] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it's a giveaway. Get entered. Sign up now. Go. Do it. Do it.
[00:15:18] Kenny Thunder: Do it.
[00:15:19] Ronnie Jams: Do it.
[00:15:19] Kenny Thunder: Do it.
[00:15:19] Ronnie Jams: Do it.
And one more thing before we get to the Browns, let me remind everybody, call the breaker.
Never forget. I'll leave your hot takes on. Hot take on.
[00:15:27] Kenny Thunder: Better call us. Better leave us Hot takes.
[00:15:30] Ronnie Jams: Hot takes 330-2278-0813-3022-7808, 2330, 227-8081 call now. Not standing by, but we'll put your takes on the air.
[00:15:39] Kenny Thunder: This show. This show is just not as fun without bone.
[00:15:42] Ronnie Jams: No, it's not. We missed a whole.
A whole phone number anyways. That'll take us to the Burning River Rundown.
[00:15:50] Kenny Thunder: Rundown.
[00:16:01] Ronnie Jams: All right, so to kick off the Burning River Rundown, there was more preseason action Snack and thank God it's over. But the Browns took on the Patriots and got the win.
[00:16:12] Kenny Thunder: We won.
[00:16:13] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. What was the score of this one?
[00:16:14] Kenny Thunder: We actually.
[00:16:15] Ronnie Jams: 4:17.
[00:16:15] Kenny Thunder: We actually won a game and. No, it was 37 to 13.
[00:16:23] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, 37, 13.
So much. I like.
[00:16:26] Kenny Thunder: We really had some offense in that game. An offensive explosion.
[00:16:29] Ronnie Jams: It was an offensive explosion. And Dylan Gabriel was at the center of it. Led the way. You heard that right. All five, four of him.
He went 12 of 15 for 186 yards, three touchdowns, which matched his entire year's Worth of production in 1/2.
Also no interceptions. No, I'm, I, I'm just kidding. But seriously, he had a good game. Like I said, 12 15, 186 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions. He fumbled the ball once, but he got it back. So no turnovers, no harm, no foul. Yeah.
[00:16:58] Kenny Thunder: Dylan looked like an NFL quarterback should against third teamers.
[00:17:03] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[00:17:03] Kenny Thunder: And it's not to take any away from Dylan. I, I mean, I think, like, if desean had had that performance or, you know, it had looked similar as the Bills against the Bills third string, we'd all be going, okay, well, this kind of all makes sense. We feel decent about this.
[00:17:17] Ronnie Jams: He probably wouldn't have got booed four times. He probably would have gotten like once or twice.
[00:17:21] Kenny Thunder: So, I mean, it wasn't, it, it wasn't surprising that he played well. Like, Dylan has a year under his belt and he was playing against guys that aren't going to be on a team, most likely.
And he had a good, he had a good half of football.
I, you know, you can kind of miss me with like all the questions around like, should Dylan be a part of this? Should he have been a part of this conversation? In a great.
[00:17:43] Ronnie Jams: I saw so many of those come out and I'm just like, really, like really.
[00:17:48] Kenny Thunder: All of a sudden there's talk about that when desean goes down, you know, instead of Shador, should it be Dylan? I mean, that all feels like a reach to me.
But he had a good half of football. Look, and I don't want to, I don't want to understate. Like, everyone's like, oh, preseason. These guys are scrubs. They're all going to be driving in the Amazon truck next week. Like, guys, I don't know the exact number, but how many. What's 53 times 32? It's not that many. A thousand or so guys that are in the NFL, the guys that are playing in the preseason are the next thousand best football players in the entire world. So, like, it's not like these guys are absolute scrubs. They're a part of 0.0001% of the entire population of the entire world.
And so like, they are talented players that played high level college ball and stuff. So I think we too often are just like, well, you know, they're playing backups and the backups aren't any good.
There's some truth to that, but there's also not right. Like, these guys aren't all just scrubs. This isn't the longest prison league.
[00:18:48] Ronnie Jams: No, but on the Flip side of that, I will say it really does go to show you just how much better like the starters are. Sure. Than like the tail end of the roster. Because.
And, and, and again just to emphasize the facts like that everybody that you're talking about, like you said the top.0001% or whatever it is. Well, those starters, the guys that play games every Sunday.000000001% like they're so good, it's stupid.
[00:19:13] Kenny Thunder: Well, it's the same reason why every now and then in some unheard of guy that's playing and that's played in five tournaments ever had a great weekend and won. Right. Like even if you're not in the top thousand golfers in the world, if you're number 1001, you're still a really damn good player.
[00:19:32] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that's, that's pretty good. Like out of how many people are in the world, like 7 billion or something stupid. Like, like you're in a top thousand.
[00:19:41] Kenny Thunder: You're still going to beat everybody else in skins every week.
[00:19:43] Ronnie Jams: Like, like if you go to a golf outing, you will clean up.
[00:19:46] Kenny Thunder: Yeah.
[00:19:47] Ronnie Jams: As far as the, what are they called? The proxies. The proxies. You'll win them all.
But yeah. So Dylan Gabriel, good day for him.
Taylor Green came in. Do you have a Taylor Green style? And I don't even write it down.
[00:20:00] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, it wasn't that impressive. He was five or seven.
[00:20:03] Ronnie Jams: I knew he had some good rushing
[00:20:04] Kenny Thunder: yards but, but more impressive with his legs. Right.
[00:20:07] Ronnie Jams: I mean we, we knew which, we knew that. Yeah.
[00:20:09] Kenny Thunder: Coming in that he was an athlete probably before he is a quarterback.
But I'll say this like, look, I would rather see Taylor Green run the ball 24 times a game than Desean Watson ever play football again?
[00:20:23] Ronnie Jams: I mean if Todd Monkins past is any indication in what he's done with Lamar Jackson, like I know in recent years Lamar's become more of a passer but especially early on in his career, like Lamar Jackson ran all over the place so well and there was always that conversation.
[00:20:37] Kenny Thunder: Right. Like is he a running back or a quarterback? And Lamar has certainly passed the smell test there over years and years.
[00:20:44] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. I'm not saying this to say that I think Taylor Green is Lamar Jack. I'm just saying like no, they're similar,
[00:20:49] Kenny Thunder: similar athletic skill sets.
[00:20:51] Ronnie Jams: Right. Yeah.
So it'd be interesting. I, I agree with you. It'd be far more interesting to watch him run all over the field than to see Dylan dink and dunk.
[00:20:59] Kenny Thunder: I mean I'D be hard pressed to believe that a guy with that much athletic potential couldn't be molded into something that's a contributor whether you're a quarterback long term or whether you're just a gadget guy. Like I would think they will find something to do with him.
[00:21:14] Ronnie Jams: You know, this actually brings up a good point. He was interviewed and he said something along the lines of, and I'm paraphrasing, they asked him if he ever thought about, or had there been talks about moving him to a different position. And he basically said, I'm a quarterback through and through.
Like that's what I am, that's what I'm going to be. I have no interest in, in moving anywhere. And it just is funny to me how many of these guys that are just freak athletes like him that fall on that sword and it's like you realize a quarterback is like the hardest position in the NFL. Like he likes another guy that the Browns saw come through that was a quarterback that, that decided, you know what, maybe there is something to that and I'll take a chance there. And Terrell Pryor went and he was a thousand yard receiver for us.
[00:21:56] Kenny Thunder: Like, yeah, but that was a flash in the pan because what happened to
[00:21:59] Ronnie Jams: him afterward, I mean, that's true, but he also wasn't a good quarterback.
[00:22:03] Kenny Thunder: True. Look, what I'll, I'll. What I'll say is like, I can see it both ways, right? Like I think you can go the Josh Cribs route and maybe you can be, you can put yourself in the record books for being a stud returner or even a wide receiver gadget guy,
[00:22:18] Ronnie Jams: I feel like that's even less likely than a receiver because there's only one two hall of Fame punt and kick returners.
[00:22:29] Kenny Thunder: But I will say this. If you're tailing Green and you're, you know, what is he, 22, 23 years old?
[00:22:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[00:22:36] Kenny Thunder: A backup quarterback is not a bad life.
[00:22:39] Ronnie Jams: That's true.
[00:22:40] Kenny Thunder: You know, if you can, yeah, if you can hang on for six to eight years in the NFL as a backup quarterback, your body never gets beat up. You're making a few million dollars every year.
[00:22:48] Ronnie Jams: You get like a spot start here and there and you do okay every
[00:22:51] Kenny Thunder: now and then you get to see some game action. But like your body doesn't take the beating. Like backup quarterbacks got to be one of the most coveted jobs on the planet when you think about it.
[00:22:59] Ronnie Jams: Well, especially because after you've been a veteran, like after you've been in the league for a few years you're making several million a year and you're just like. Like, I literally don't see the field.
[00:23:07] Kenny Thunder: And in most cases, you're relatively popular. Right? Like, especially in Cleveland, the backup quarterback is always one of the most popular guys on the team. So you're beloved, you make good money.
[00:23:17] Ronnie Jams: Ain't nobody like a starter here.
[00:23:18] Kenny Thunder: Your body doesn't get beat up. Like, it's a pretty good living. So I can see where a young guy that has that kind of athletic build and potential would go. No, I want to keep playing quarterback.
[00:23:27] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. That's fair.
Moving on here, though, wide receivers. Gage larva Dane, five receptions for 48 yards. Luke Floria, three receptions for 29 yards and two touchdowns. And Imani Marshall, two receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown. So wide receivers all played pretty well.
The ones that played, you could tell these guys are fighting for their lives out there and they want to make the roster and they. At least, you know, we'll get into cuts and everything else here in just a minute. But all these guys made it interesting as far as, like that six wide receiver spot goes. I mean, there was a lot of guys to choose from.
[00:24:01] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I. Look, I mean, I think it.
The. Luke Flory had a great camp and a nice preseason and, you know, I don't know what else you can do. You know, if the, if the, if the narrative coming from the coaching staff is like, go out there and earn it, I don't know what else you could do if you were in his shoes to say you deserve a spot on the team.
Clearly it wasn't reciprocated by the Browns, but spoiler alert.
[00:24:28] Ronnie Jams: Come on, man. But everybody knows by now it's okay.
[00:24:30] Kenny Thunder: But he had a good camp and a good preseason.
You know, there was a lot of talk about the fact that he just doesn't. Isn't a special team.
So, you know, obviously the Browns value that you need those depth guys to be able to play special teams, and he's not a guy that.
[00:24:43] Ronnie Jams: Especially when you, when you kind of think about the Browns wide receiver core, which is weird to talk like this given the Browns recent past, but like, their top five guys or so are pretty much set at wide receiver.
[00:24:55] Kenny Thunder: Well, the thing is, if you're one of the top three guys, then you really don't have to play special teams.
[00:24:58] Ronnie Jams: Well, that's what. And they don't want you playing guys. They don't want you playing special teams because they're like these for offense.
[00:25:04] Kenny Thunder: And so if you're one of Those bottom two to three guys like you have be able to contribute on special teams in some way.
[00:25:11] Ronnie Jams: I mean we got to have special
[00:25:12] Kenny Thunder: teams, they gotta have special. As long as it's still a part of the game, we still gotta have special teamers.
[00:25:16] Ronnie Jams: So.
[00:25:18] Kenny Thunder: Which I don't know again, right, like it goes back to like your mindset as a young athlete and you go, you know, hey, you're truly trying to make a team. Maybe you should get in your special teams playbook and show em, you know, what you got. Like, like you're already undersized coming from the small college, like whatever. Like you don't have the pedigree that, that like an arch Manning has, right? So no one cares, no one likes you.
You've got to do something spectacular to impress somebody to earn your spot on the team. And if you're like flat out not willing to play special teams or to get better at it and upskill yourself there, then you're doing yourself a disservice.
[00:25:54] Ronnie Jams: I like where your head's at. He should just walks right up to Todd Monkin and gave him the pedigree.
[00:25:58] Kenny Thunder: Time to play the game.
[00:26:02] Ronnie Jams: That would have done it. Running back said take out Taylor Green's eight rushes for 66 yards and they average 3.3 yards carry, which is an improvement, which is scary.
[00:26:11] Kenny Thunder: I don't know what they're gonna do about this running game. Look, the offensive line looks like it's getting better.
[00:26:16] Ronnie Jams: Obviously no sacks giving up this game.
[00:26:19] Kenny Thunder: But they must just be banking on the fact that like Judkins and Sampson are gonna just be really good.
[00:26:27] Ronnie Jams: I hope so because scheme doesn't appear to be there.
[00:26:30] Kenny Thunder: The blocking up front doesn't appear to be there.
[00:26:32] Ronnie Jams: But we've talked at length about this. I am very interested to see what Quin Sean Judkins does in his second year because there was a lot of concerns before he got hurt towards the end of last season. I mean he all. He fell off a cliff like he was when he started. He was averaging close to 5 yards of carry for the first few games and then all of a sudden he was basically averaging 1.5 yards of carry.
[00:26:54] Kenny Thunder: I can tell you that if this team is going to average 2 yards of rush, it's going to be a really long couple of weeks for Deshaun Watson.
[00:27:01] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, yeah, that's for sure.
Yeah. And on the defensive side of things though, a little bit better in this one. Only 13 points given up 270 total yards. But again we're playing backups, so I, I Know it was our backups as well. But you know, it's, it's. This is part of why I, I understand that the preseason is necessary. There's a lot of things that you can find out about a team in the preseason but at the same time like it's meaningless. It's meaningless. Like going into the season people can act like they know things based off the preseason. Nobody knows across the league like nobody knows anything.
And this first week is a complete crapshoot as far as who's going to win what games.
[00:27:42] Kenny Thunder: Oh that's true. Week one is always probably the most open. I mean I think we're the Cleveland is already like a seven point dog or an eight point dog for week
[00:27:49] Ronnie Jams: one, which is wild to me. Not.
[00:27:51] Kenny Thunder: I think if there was any week during the season that you're like this is a toss up game, it's always week one. Just because even if you're playing a good team, you don't know how they're going to come out or if they're going to be firing all cylinders. They've had changes in the offseason to, to their coaching staff and the scheme and you don't know how Everybody you know is in terms of their sea legs from.
[00:28:09] Ronnie Jams: I forget which outlet it was. It was either ESPN or Yahoo. One of them though, the dude wrote an article and he said there's gonna be a lot of upsets throughout week one in the NFL.
Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars not gonna be one of them. The Cleveland Browns are terrible. Probably fair, he just again forget who it was but he just basically all over the Browns. I said this is one of the worst teams I've ever seen seen. They're not gonna win any games.
[00:28:32] Kenny Thunder: Well, we looked really good against Baron morton and tommy devito.
[00:28:35] Ronnie Jams: That's true.
[00:28:36] Kenny Thunder: Hey, hey devito.
[00:28:40] Ronnie Jams: But anyway, so the 53 man roster is set. There were 19 cuts made first and foremost, which does not count on those 19 cuts because it happened before the preseason game.
Cedric Tillman officially gone. We, we knew that was coming.
[00:28:54] Kenny Thunder: Our long awaited Cedric Tillman nightmare is officially over. Over.
[00:28:58] Ronnie Jams: It's just crazy.
[00:28:59] Kenny Thunder: Bowen's favorite question at the beginning of every season is is it going to be Cedric Tillman's year? And he's not even here to say goodbye.
[00:29:05] Ronnie Jams: Goodbye Cedric Tillman.
And also I want to say a big fu to Chad Johnson. For Chad Ojo Cinco for saying he was the best young talent that he's seen in years.
Because he.
[00:29:18] Kenny Thunder: You were hung up on that for a while. You were excited. You Were like, Ocho Cinco said so.
[00:29:23] Ronnie Jams: Well, now I. Now I hate. Oh, I should have known he was a Cincinnati Bengal. He doesn't know sh.
Cincinnati, Kentucky.
Yeah. So Cedric Tillman's gone. And then as far as the actual cuts this week, Cornerback Miles Bryant, DT Sam Kamara, cornerback d' Angelo Ross, DT Travis Bell, running back Devon Booth, DT Elijah Chapman, guard Kinsley. These are going to get crazy. I don't know these names.
Do you know how to say that? I don't know.
Defensive end Logan Fano, wide receiver Luke Floria, wide receiver Gage Larva Dane. Offensive tackle KT Levon.
Running back Ammani Marshall. Punter West Paul, DT Tyreek SAP, Defensive end Cord Sydnor, linebacker O. Edon Olufosio, safety Zion Washington, linebacker Nathaniel Watson and wide receiver Cole Wilson, all cut.
[00:30:25] Kenny Thunder: I mean, I think the only one that really, at least to me was somewhat of a surprise is maybe just Nathaniel Watson.
[00:30:34] Ronnie Jams: Right?
[00:30:34] Kenny Thunder: Like, that's a guy who was drafted two years ago, missed all last season due to injury.
[00:30:38] Ronnie Jams: His first. His rookie season, he actually played really.
[00:30:42] Kenny Thunder: I mean, he played. Right. He played a few games.
[00:30:44] Ronnie Jams: He was a preseason. He was one of those guys that everybody's talking about in the presence season.
[00:30:47] Kenny Thunder: Like, oh, I think there was higher expectations for him, but.
But looks like he'll end up on the practice squad.
[00:30:54] Ronnie Jams: Yep. And speaking of the practice squad, 10 members signed to the practice squad. You'll notice pretty much all these came from those guys that were cut. Cornerback Miles Bryant, defensive end Logan Fano, tackle KT Leviston, punter West Paul. Cornerback d' Angelo Ross, DT Tyreek SAP, defensive end Cord A. Sidnor, safety Zion Washington, linebacker Nathaniel Watson and wide receiver Cole Wilson all signed to the practice squad. Squad claimed via weight. You want to talk about some of them?
[00:31:22] Kenny Thunder: Oh, I was just gonna say we'll
[00:31:24] Ronnie Jams: get to surprises, notably.
[00:31:27] Kenny Thunder: Oh, okay.
[00:31:28] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
Claimed via waivers. We got Cornerback Toriano Pride Jr.
From Buffalo, and then we waved defensive end Julian Acquara, which takes us down to very few true, like, outside rush type players.
True. Which is. It was kind of a strange move to me. But they also placed Dylan Gabriel on injured reserve.
[00:31:55] Kenny Thunder: This one, obviously is getting a lot of conversation today and this week because Dylan played well during the preseason game and showed no sign of injury.
[00:32:05] Ronnie Jams: He went home and laid down and had a back injury.
[00:32:08] Kenny Thunder: Back spasms.
[00:32:09] Ronnie Jams: Oh, God.
Out for four weeks.
[00:32:11] Kenny Thunder: Apparently they did schedule an mri, which really doesn't mean anything. They can. They have an MRI machine. They can put an MRI on anybody, but they're at least trying to make it look legitimate.
[00:32:22] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I think this was very much a.
We think either him or one of the other quarterbacks might have trade value. We need to buy our time and hope somebody from another team gets hurt in these first few weeks that we can unload.
[00:32:34] Kenny Thunder: Well, yeah, just strategically they don't want to unload Dylan Gabriel because he was a third round pick. If they can hold on to him until somebody gets desperate maybe like in Atlanta or Miami or somebody that needs a backup that, you know, maybe somebody will come and offer a late round pick for the guy.
And it's, it's just interesting because it's just another chess piece in this quarterback conversation. Right. Which is, hey, DeSean's a starter. No one expects DeSean to finish the year.
Ryan Fitzpatrick said, not if, but when DeSean Watson will fail.
[00:33:12] Ronnie Jams: That was brutal. Did you actually see that?
[00:33:14] Kenny Thunder: I did. I was, yeah. I mean it was, it was during the broadcast, so.
[00:33:17] Ronnie Jams: Oh, goodness.
[00:33:18] Kenny Thunder: He.
[00:33:18] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, they asked who was the co host with him, but they said so. So you don't think it's going to work or you said, so you think he's going to fail.
Right. Fitzpatrick said, oh, it's going to happen.
[00:33:30] Kenny Thunder: Well, yeah, it was Al Michaels and Kirk. Herb Street.
[00:33:32] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So he just laid into him about how. Basically about how terrible desean Watson is.
[00:33:38] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Oh, look, he's not good. Right. Everybody knows, like this is not going to last long to the point where there's conversation, there's legitimate convers that people think he's going to get the first two games on the road and that the Browns will make a quarterback change by week three when they come home.
To me, that seems ludicrous.
As much as I would love to see that, I feel like any coach that is competent whatsoever is just, just can't have that quick of a leash on a player.
So if Todd Monkin says he's the starter, I think you're going to get four, six, eight weeks probably of DeSean Watson failing before they have to do anything. Just because that's just not.
You just don't do that to a quarterback.
[00:34:28] Ronnie Jams: No, I, I've seen, I've seen people this week saying that.
It blew my mind when I read it saying that the Browns are in like the best possible position at quarterback simply because there's only three scenarios realistically that play out. Either desean Watson plays really well and we make the playoffs.
Not gonna happen.
DeSean Watson plays bad. And you see, if Shador is good and he turns out to be good and then we have Basically a free giraffe next year. Or DeSean Watson plays, he's bad. Shador comes in, he's bad. And then you have the giraffe to start over next year, which, yeah, I mean, those are. Those are the scenarios that will play out. But I don't understand in any way whatsoever on how DeSean Watson playing is like, even a factor in this whole thing. Like, why are we even starting there?
[00:35:17] Kenny Thunder: It doesn't make any sense at all. That's why. Does it make any sense?
Yeah. Look, my whole thing is I would like to see Shador play meaningful football. Not meaningful because the Browns are going to go to the super bowl. But meaning games, games before the season is lost. Right. Like, I don't want to see him when all the pressure's off and he's just slinging it because, hey, we're 0 and 8. Who the hell cares what happens next? Like, I'm just going to go out guns blazing. I'd like to see him in leverage situations, have to make plays, have to, you know, make decisions with the game on the line while it still counts in the season. And that's my biggest fear, is that we make through. Make it through a whole other season where Shador Sanders, you. You can't get an evaluation on the guy because he only played six or seven games and, and look like that's probably worst case scenario for the Browns. Right. Deshaun plays for eight weeks is awful. They win one games or no games, then they go to Shador. He plays six games and maybe win half of them, but he gets hurt and can't finish the year. Dylan Gabriel comes in. So you got this small sample size and you win just enough games to bump you out of the top three picks, and you still don't really know what you're doing at quarterback.
[00:36:32] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I've seen a lot to say. Even if the Browns only win four to five games this year, that still might not be enough for the number one pick.
[00:36:40] Kenny Thunder: There's a couple bad teams in the league this year that I don't think are going to win more than three or four games, so. And Browns may be included in that, depending on how long the desean thing takes.
[00:36:48] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, another move that was made here. So. So the Dylan Gabriel thing, we're. We're in agreement, though. It's just strictly to buy time to see who they can trade.
[00:36:57] Kenny Thunder: I can't see it any other way. I mean, it makes sense. It allows them to hold on to four quarterbacks beyond the cuts and not have to make A decision right away because they can ride this out for four weeks or whatever is the injury designation before they even have to do anything.
[00:37:14] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[00:37:14] Kenny Thunder: And then at that point, who knows?
[00:37:16] Ronnie Jams: They might like. To your point, they might have an injury in that time frame.
[00:37:19] Kenny Thunder: Well, right. Or. Or DeSean Watson does play so badly that they have to pull them and they just go, you know what? All right, the desean thing's finally over. We got to put your door on the field. Dylan will be number two. Taylor Green will be number three.
[00:37:30] Ronnie Jams: They ain't gonna cut.
[00:37:31] Kenny Thunder: Sean just won't dress.
[00:37:32] Ronnie Jams: Oh, they'll just year. But it still counts against your roster.
[00:37:36] Kenny Thunder: Well, hey, you know, they're gonna have to do something, but maybe they can get some kind of commissioner's exemption or something. I don't know. Like, you know, Andrew, this guy's really bad.
[00:37:50] Ronnie Jams: Anyways, besides the quarterbacks, one player placed on the NFI list, and that's rookie tight end Joe Royer, is. Do you have any idea what's going on with this guy? I don't think anybody does. I've. I've tried to find clue, sir. Tried to find him information on this. He was. He has not practiced at all yet. No camp, no preseason. All of this missed due to a personal reason is what it's listed as.
I mean, you. You have to start wondering, like, is he ever gonna play for the Browns or anyone for that matter?
I mean.
Yeah, I just. I just don't know. The dude literally hasn't reported anything, so I don't know what's going on. I don't know if we're ever gonna hear what's going on. The only thing that's been asked is Todd Monken was asked the day before cuts what's going on with Joe Royer. And all he had to say was, I'm not going to comment on that.
[00:38:43] Kenny Thunder: I mean, it's odd because generally, if there was some kind of, like, legal trouble, we would have known about that by now.
[00:38:50] Ronnie Jams: Right.
[00:38:52] Kenny Thunder: But the fact that they're also hanging on to him. Thanks. Makes me think they think there's still some potential in future there.
[00:38:59] Ronnie Jams: Like, it's not. It's not. It doesn't count as a roster spot. He's on the NFI list. But still, like, the. To your point, like, if it was something that they think he couldn't come back from, you think they just cut him.
So I. It's just interesting. I know he was kind of built as. Like, maybe this is our answer as far as a number two tight end to Harold Fannin Jr.
It turns out we might not, might, might not ever find out.
[00:39:22] Kenny Thunder: Hopefully Harold Fan's really good.
[00:39:25] Ronnie Jams: I'm, I'm, yeah, we'll get into that probably next week when we do our season season preview. But I'm really, I'm really concerned about a sophomore slump out of him. I hope. I'm, I mean, given the quarterbacks that we have, we'll probably be wrong because it's going to be the only guy they could throw to.
[00:39:39] Kenny Thunder: There's a lot of sophomore slump potential because there's a lot of sophomores.
[00:39:43] Ronnie Jams: That's true.
[00:39:44] Kenny Thunder: Somebody's going to slump.
[00:39:45] Ronnie Jams: Yep.
[00:39:47] Kenny Thunder: Buster.
[00:39:48] Ronnie Jams: And now we're to the surprises here. I know you started getting to it a little bit earlier, but who's, who's your biggest surprise?
[00:39:53] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, clearly Luke Floria.
[00:39:55] Ronnie Jams: I think it's everybody's biggest surprise.
[00:39:56] Kenny Thunder: Right. And it's not to say the Luke Floria is like a future all probably.
But again, I think if the camp speak is like, go out and earn it. This guy did pretty much everything you would expect a guy to do, reports out of the camp or that he was having a really good preseason in the camp. He played well in all the preseason games. Like, it's just hard to reconcile that with the desean Watson performance that we saw. And you go, okay, if the coaches are telling you you have to go out and earn it and desean Watson can do the opposite of that and the team and not only just make the team, be the starting quarterback and then here's a guy playing his balls off and he can't sniff the practice squad. That's concerning to an extent. And look, I don't, we don't know all the details. Perhaps Luke Floria turned down a practice squad slot and said, I'd rather be an unrestricted free agent and see if I can't work a deal with another team. All that's possible, but it's, it's, it's just frustrating to not even see, you know, this guy stay within the organization after, you know, really two good camps in a row, you know, outside of the injury last year.
[00:41:10] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And I will say if you, you want to see just like a microcosm of like what the Browns organization is these last 27 years since 1999, especially lately, especially the last like five or six. Right, right.
You, you pretty much nailed it. You got desean Watson, who you name is the starting quarterback, even though he's dog on the field and dog off the field, like, that's the guy that you named as the face of your franchise. And meanwhile, you've got this guy that's beloved by fans.
[00:41:43] Kenny Thunder: Try hard.
[00:41:44] Ronnie Jams: Local kid that's done everything in his power to make the team and done everything right, worked harder than anybody in the room, done everything that you could possibly do. We just cut him and don't even bring him to the practice squad again. I know he's that. Like you said, there could be other circumstances surrounding that, but it's just a really bad visual. And I know we're talking about a practice squad guy, basically, but that's the guy. Like, that's the guy. Those types of guys are who should be the face of your franchise. And instead we've got desean Watson, who's out there praying around like he's just some upstanding guy.
[00:42:19] Kenny Thunder: It's just a matter of the fact that, like, regardless of who's in charge, for the last 27 years, this franchise has been unable to identify talent, especially at the wide receiver position.
And this was one of those where I think it was evident to a lot of people that he has something right. At least he's not the biggest, not the fastest, but. But he's some kind of gamer and could probably contribute on this football team. And I think fans are starved for that because go back one year and look at how. How many guys couldn't contribute even though they. They tried really hard. So it will just be, you know, the nightmare of all nightmares if he signs with someone else, signs with Las Vegas, signs with Tampa Bay, and, like, turns into, you know, I don't want to say like, Julian Edelman because he's Super Bowls, but, like, you know, this is like a.
[00:43:13] Ronnie Jams: Like a contributor somewhere type of player, even if. Even if he's Wes Welker, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Light.
[00:43:21] Kenny Thunder: Yeah.
Is probably a better comparison, right? Like, just somebody that is a. Is a contributor at a high level, and maybe he's not the most important factor on any team, but, like, he's a guy that's probably in your fantasy lineup in a. In a deep league.
[00:43:37] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
Yeah. It is hard to see him go. I think, like, they just keep. Keep missing with things like this because to me, like, this is a character guy that you keep on. On the squad is like, this is
[00:43:50] Kenny Thunder: a good story over again. Character doesn't matter.
[00:43:53] Ronnie Jams: True. Which, again, I guess that's. That was my point is this is why we are where we are. You talk about culture in a team and why things don't work well, it's because of, like, this.
[00:44:03] Kenny Thunder: Well, it just would have been like one more bone you could throw to this fan base who is.
[00:44:08] Ronnie Jams: You think they give a about what we think this is the same, same same organization that came through and said you guys don't want desean is your starter. Guess what?
[00:44:18] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I just. It would have been a small olive branch to the fan base who was very much wanting to see this guy for that continue in a Browns jersey to say we can at least bring him back on the practice squad. And it's like they almost went just the total opposite just to. Just to stick it to you one more time. I heard an interesting conversation this week just on local radio about, about how much the Browns do not need you. Right. We have the conversation about Todd Monkin saying, you know, we don't care about what the fans say. I'm the decision maker. All this stuff and even the idea that from the top down someone like Jimmy Haslam who came out and said Deshaun was a swing and a miss and then, you know, six 12 months later he's your starting quarterback, plays into this idea that the Browns truly don't need you. From a revenue standpoint, the Cleveland Browns will do somewhere in the range of 600, $350 million in gross revenues this year. The ticket sales, gate sales accounts for about $95 million of that. The rest is NFL contracts and inter team funding.
[00:45:26] Ronnie Jams: Like all it's just like any team in the NFL. Like the fans really don't matter anymore. It's all about the TV deal like they do and the fact that they're watching the games.
[00:45:33] Kenny Thunder: Right.
[00:45:34] Ronnie Jams: But somebody is going to fill your shoes watching the games regardless. So.
[00:45:38] Kenny Thunder: Well, and just at the end of the day like even if, even if all that money went away, like the Browns are still a profitable organization.
[00:45:44] Ronnie Jams: Even if they lose $95 million in ticket sales, they still make 550.
[00:45:48] Kenny Thunder: And every time there's an ownership change in the NFL we get these like valuations that rocket up. Like what did Jimmy buy the Browns for and what are they worth today? Like it's a multi billion dollar return on his investment. So the money, this, the NFL continues to print money and they, and they just really don't need. Need you. So they, they really don't care what the fans think.
[00:46:11] Ronnie Jams: No, no. Which is sad, but it is what it is.
Another surprise was Gage Larva. Dan, along the same lines, had a really good preseason, looked good at receiver. He actually was a quote unquote special.
[00:46:25] Kenny Thunder: I disagree that he looks good on red receiver. I've been Saying the fire gauge Larva Dane since he got here.
[00:46:30] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. I mean, I just. I guess we're talking to be fair. I'm talking statistically it's preseason. So you can put up stats in the preseason, but also look ass. So I hear what you're saying. I'm just saying for a wide receiver starved team, the last.
[00:46:48] Kenny Thunder: I've just never seen any. Anybody take so many punts and kicks were backwards.
[00:46:53] Ronnie Jams: He did have. I think that's actually what killed his chances. Final nail in the coffin was we
[00:46:58] Kenny Thunder: want wide receivers that can play special teams, play it badly.
[00:47:01] Ronnie Jams: He had two punt returns for negative three yards in this. This last preseason game. They're like, all right, we're done with this.
[00:47:07] Kenny Thunder: Yeah.
[00:47:08] Ronnie Jams: And Malachi Corley, who made the team is actually really good at returning kicks. So I don't know about really good, but he's a solid kick returner.
[00:47:15] Kenny Thunder: Can.
[00:47:16] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, he can return kicks. So Gage Larva Dane gone as well. No practice. No practice squad for him. And we already mentioned Dylan Gabriel going to the ir. So a couple notable ex Browns around the league here. Jedrick Will's comeback bid has come up short as he was cut by the Bears.
[00:47:33] Kenny Thunder: Big surprise.
[00:47:34] Ronnie Jams: Nobody saw this coming.
So former first rounder still can't find a job. And then Jerome Ford was placed on IR with a hamstring. Hamstring injury.
[00:47:44] Kenny Thunder: How old is Jerome Ford?
[00:47:46] Ronnie Jams: He's gonna be early 30s right now. But he's his season.
[00:47:51] Kenny Thunder: I guess he's not that old. He was Stefanski. I was thinking Jerome Harrison. I was like, that guy's got
[00:47:58] Ronnie Jams: no. But his season's over because it was like the full ir, not like the short term ir.
[00:48:02] Kenny Thunder: So he's still bad.
[00:48:04] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So apparently it was a really bad hamstring pull.
[00:48:07] Kenny Thunder: Pulled it off.
[00:48:08] Ronnie Jams: Oh, no.
[00:48:10] Kenny Thunder: Up here.
[00:48:11] Ronnie Jams: Casey Concepcion Jr. Was named the recipient of the Maurice Bassett award. This is an award given every year to the Browns most outstanding rookie through training camp as voted on by the media. So I guess this doesn't mean anything because the Browns media.
Not good.
[00:48:28] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Look, I. These. Both these young wide receivers, a lot is going to be expected of them. So look, I. They're one of the most interesting storylines of this whole season. Right. To see for the Browns are probably the most. How they. How they progress, how they handle the length and the gauntlet of the NFL season.
Are they as productive in December as they are in September? Right. And you know, it's sink or swim. Right. It's the NFL now. So these guys are either going to put up or shut up. And we're going to know real soon if we have real players on our hands. By all accounts at this point, both guys had good camps and I'm excited to see them play. But it'll be interesting storyline all year long.
[00:49:08] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. I'll say this for K.C. concepcion Jr.
Obviously, when they drafted him on day one, we had our live, live draft show and I think we were both disappointed giving given the fact that Denzel Boston was still on the board.
[00:49:24] Kenny Thunder: Right.
[00:49:25] Ronnie Jams: I mean that's who we wanted as the top receiver. We ended up getting him anyways, so good there.
But what I will say for Casey Concepcion is he can play special teams. He could play special teams. But no, I was just going to say in general he has really impressed me as far as just all the reports coming out for like work ethic and everything else. And he. I don't know if you saw in, in the Athletic. His letter to the GMs came out or whatever this past. I think it was this past week that it finally was like the full thing was released and he basically wrote a letter to all of the GMs and said, yeah, I have a stutter. Boom. But. And we knew we, we had gotten part of this before, but I think the full letter came out and he said, but I will work harder than anybody in the NFL at receiver and I will be the guy and I will catch everything and you will not go wrong drafting me. And so far he's kind of lived that and he's been everything that he said he would be and more.
Now it is preseason, so we haven't seen the games, but so far so good. And I'm excited about these young receivers.
[00:50:28] Kenny Thunder: I don't have any complaints about KC at this point. My, my only concern is really just his stature. Right. And he's a guy that 6 foot, 188 pounds, I think they're going to use a lot.
[00:50:42] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[00:50:43] Kenny Thunder: And I just think the NFL is so hard. Right. I mean even guys like Travis Hunter who were supposed to be able to go both ways and he was a different kind of athlete. All these things like the NFL catches up to you.
[00:50:53] Ronnie Jams: Well, you saw this year coming into his sophomore season, he put on about 25 pounds of muscle because he was like, Jesus Christ, these guys are big.
[00:51:00] Kenny Thunder: And by the end of the season you'll lose £20. Right. Like it's a demanding, demanding year and these guys are so young.
So I'm really excited to see him play. I think he's going to Do a lot of really cool shit, but I'm. I am very highly concerned about his long term viability and health throughout the season.
[00:51:20] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that's fair.
Next up here, Cowboys released Joe Miller. Milton, well, the Browns pick him up and cut ties with Shador Sanders. That's the big rumor going around.
[00:51:30] Kenny Thunder: It's like, big news.
[00:51:31] Ronnie Jams: Is it gonna happen? Is that the rumor? That's the rumor.
[00:51:35] Kenny Thunder: I guess it's big news, but, like, it's Joe Milton. Like, I. I don't know. Like, I can't get all hot and bothered about that.
[00:51:41] Ronnie Jams: I. I thought this was so odd because I just feel like if that was what was gonna happen, it would have already happened. Like, as soon as he was like, it's been, you know, we record on Monday, so, like, it's only been hours at this point, but I still think that already would have happened. Like, if they knew that there was a chance Joe Milton was coming and they really wanted him, this would already be in the war. This would be something that they would have thought about.
[00:52:05] Kenny Thunder: I think there's too much smoke where there's fire that I think the Browns actually do like Shador and want to give him a chance. I mean, RG3 came out this week and said he heard from sources inside the Browns building that Todd Monkin wanted to name Shador Sanders a starter and wasn't allowed.
[00:52:20] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, so.
[00:52:21] Kenny Thunder: So I think there's enough fans inside of that building. I think he's got to be well liked by the players, right?
[00:52:28] Ronnie Jams: Well, you talk about liked by the players and liked by like ex NFL quarterbacks. You already talked about Ryan Fitzpatrick. Like, clearly these guys. And I know that that's like the, the hot topic that's always talked about is around the league, GMs don't respect Shador Sanders or skill set or whatever. Or not GMs, but coaches and defensive coordinators and what, Whatever.
But the fact that so many of these quarterbacks that are good quarterbacks that have been in the league that have done it come out and say, and obviously RG3 fell off a cliff after he got injured, but he was still a good quarterback until the injury.
[00:53:02] Kenny Thunder: Sure. I mean, he got severely injured.
[00:53:04] Ronnie Jams: Right. That's. That's my point.
He knows what he's talking about at the quarterback position and so does Ryan Fitzpatrick. And like, the fact that these guys are coming out and saying, like, no, there's something there. This guy, he can definitely be a quarterback in the NFL, I think carries more weight than people like to admit.
[00:53:20] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Did you hear Fitz Talking about the year that he started when he was waiting somebody's suspension, Jamis, maybe. And it was. He was talking about Todd Monkin's first time calling place.
And in week one, he threw for like 450 yards. Week two, he threw for 400 yards. Week three, he threw for 400 yards. And then he was benched at halftime in week four.
[00:53:41] Ronnie Jams: That's good.
No, I didn't see. It's a pretty good stat.
[00:53:47] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Like Fitzpatrick, like, he just wasn't. He was. He never had the, the name and the clout that like any of these other guys had. So he just never, he never found a home as a true number one anywhere. But I'll tell you, smart guy, Harvard guy, right?
[00:54:00] Ronnie Jams: And watching that guy play was some of the most fun you'll ever have. Watching. Watching a football game like that dude would just sling it and he just didn't give a. It was like the year, the magical year that was Joe Flacco here in Cleveland. Like, he just threw it all over the place.
[00:54:15] Kenny Thunder: Well, I liked him talking about playing in the preseason, too. He was playing in the final preseason game and his own personal strategy was he was just going to put his head down and bowl guys over. And so the very first time he did it, they were like, all right, you're out of here. We can't have our backup quarterback just trucking.
[00:54:30] Ronnie Jams: Never mind. I guess.
Yeah. So a couple more quick notes here. Odell Beckham Jr. Makes the initial 53 man roster for the Giants.
[00:54:38] Kenny Thunder: The timeless one.
[00:54:39] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. He's 33 years old now. Now, he did take last year off, a.k.a. nobody wanted him. He's broke.
[00:54:46] Kenny Thunder: It's hard to live in $100 million.
[00:54:47] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So I guess one last rodeo for Odell Beckham Jr. And he went back to the team that drafted him.
[00:54:53] Kenny Thunder: Speaking of last rodeos.
[00:54:55] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Aaron Donald comes out of retirement to help the Rams win a Super Bowl. And I. Is there any, like, is there any question at this point, like, the Rams are probably gonna win the Super Bowl? I don't know why we're all watching this season.
[00:55:07] Kenny Thunder: Look, he hasn't played football in what, two years? Two full years. Two full seasons.
[00:55:11] Ronnie Jams: So did you see him, though? He's. He's jacked.
[00:55:13] Kenny Thunder: Oh, I'm sure he's in great shape. And honestly, like, the, the beating that your body hasn't gone through for two years probably is a benefit to him, but I don't know. Look, I mean, do you get 90% Aaron Donald, 80% Aaron Donald, 70% Aaron Donald, 70%. Aaron Donald is probably a starter on most teams.
[00:55:32] Ronnie Jams: I was going to say if you do the math on that, like 20, whatever sacks divided by like times 70%, you're still at like 18 sacks. So that's pretty good.
[00:55:40] Kenny Thunder: I mean, can you imagine if he goes for 10 and Miles goes for another 20 this year?
[00:55:44] Ronnie Jams: Dude, if Miles goes for another 20 and he. Yeah, like, if he gets 10 or if he gets like, just think about like 15.
[00:55:50] Kenny Thunder: They just, and they just have a good offense to like, they could be up at the end of a lot of games and just like pin their ears back, like, get after the quarterback.
[00:55:59] Ronnie Jams: I'm gonna make a bold prediction right now. And I hate to say this because I did it last year too, but I think Miles Garrett breaks his own sack record this year with, with the addition of Aaron Donald, because him coming back at least gives you like, oh, we gotta watch. Did you see Aaron Donald was double teamed on like 64% of the time that he played.
[00:56:16] Kenny Thunder: Like, the only thing I'll say about Miles maybe repeating is just the fact that Miles was the only option last year, right? Like he was the only threat on defense and now you're going to a better team. So maybe it won't be quite as ugly as we think it might be.
[00:56:30] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it'll be. It'll definitely be really interesting though, to see how that defense comes together and what, what they're able to do and, and I don't know, I just, I was, I'm like sick to my stomach this last week reading all these things about how Miles Garrett is already setting the tone over there and all this.
Just.
[00:56:49] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I've heard a lot of fun conversations about that, about Miles stepping up, being a leader and all these things that he wasn't.
[00:56:54] Ronnie Jams: Makes you like, ah, like, yeah. Saw the things we wanted him to be here and he never was.
[00:56:59] Kenny Thunder: I heard somebody going back to the. The helmet debacle and the. The comments that Baker had about a match of the game being the reason why he left.
People just come up with anything crazy as.
[00:57:11] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, but that'll do it for the Burning river rundown.
Kenny, you want to get gassed up?
[00:57:19] Kenny Thunder: Sure.
[00:57:29] Ronnie Jams: All right, buddy. What are we getting gassed up about today day?
I'm not your buddy guy.
[00:57:34] Kenny Thunder: This weekend it was late at night, flipping through the tv and classic film came on.
[00:57:42] Ronnie Jams: Who, what was it?
[00:57:43] Kenny Thunder: The tube I had run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days and 16 hours. Greenbow, Alabama Forest Gump came on the solid.
And this got me more gassed up than it should have. But I was just, I was so angry watching it because one, it's just such a classic film.
[00:58:07] Ronnie Jams: Oh, so good.
[00:58:08] Kenny Thunder: You know, it's one of those you can watch anytime it's on tv and it's always good.
[00:58:13] Ronnie Jams: I like watching it back now. I'll let you get back to your story and say, I like watching it back now. And like, you know, when you're younger and technology is not as good, like, you don't realize some of the stuff that they do in the movie and like when they make the president's mouth move and stuff, it just looks so ridiculous now watching it.
[00:58:29] Kenny Thunder: I thought it was pretty well done for the time.
[00:58:31] Ronnie Jams: For the time. But I'm just saying, like, now that we've seen, like what they do now with movies, it just looks silly.
[00:58:36] Kenny Thunder: Really impressive green screening and cgi.
But anyway, what really gassed me up is, you know, he's. He goes on his run.
[00:58:47] Ronnie Jams: He was running.
[00:58:48] Kenny Thunder: He was running.
And you know, as he makes his trip across America, at one point, a bunch of reporters are following him and they kind of break in with a broadcast.
And during the broadcast they refer to him as a gardener. Gardener from Greenbow, Alabama, makes his trek across America multiple times.
They called him a gardener. And I'm going, this guy was a Medal of Freedom winner. He's the CEO of the Bubba Grump Shrimp Company that's got more money than Davy Crack Rocket.
Like, imagine if Jeff Bezos retired today and in five years he was, and he did something newsworthy. We wouldn't go, like, there's the chess player from Omaha, Nebraska. We would refer to him as the former CEO of a multi billion dollar
[00:59:44] Ronnie Jams: Bezos, a chess player from Omaha.
[00:59:46] Kenny Thunder: I don't know. I don't know what Jeff Bezos does, but, like, can you imagine anybody else that that was, had the accolades and the fame that met multiple presidents that was a Vietnam veteran? Like, there were so many ways to describe Forrest Gump, but the news went
[01:00:02] Ronnie Jams: with something that he wasn't even.
[01:00:04] Kenny Thunder: He was cutting the grass for free at his high school. Like, he, he was, it wasn't even a gardener.
[01:00:10] Ronnie Jams: He. He was, he was like a landscaper. Like, it's. There's a big difference.
[01:00:13] Kenny Thunder: I was like, how did this, how did this even make the cutting room floor? I mean, maybe the joke is just the, the inaccuracy of the media and how they'll twist a story to like, make it more sensationalized than normal. Like, oh, this simple gardener from Greenbow, Alabama is running across America multiple times. But it just really struck a nerve with me because I was like, he's the CEO of the largest shrimp company in the southern seaboard.
[01:00:40] Ronnie Jams: I just like when he wipes his face. Shit happens.
[01:00:43] Kenny Thunder: Shit happened. What happened Happens Sometimes
[01:00:50] Ronnie Jams: that whole movie's so good. It is so good. I don't understand the gardener thing, because, like I said, he wasn't even a gardener. He's like a lane. He, like, he was just mowing the
[01:00:58] Kenny Thunder: grass for free because he didn't have anything to do because he was so rich. Like, from being the. In charge of the bubblegum shrimp company.
[01:01:03] Ronnie Jams: Right. Like. And when you say gardener, like, that would imply, like, he was cultivating vegetables. Like, cultivating.
[01:01:10] Kenny Thunder: He was not.
[01:01:11] Ronnie Jams: No, he was just mowing the grass.
[01:01:13] Kenny Thunder: Just run.
[01:01:15] Ronnie Jams: And he was the CEO of the Bubba Shrimp Company also.
[01:01:21] Kenny Thunder: Just. This is not gassed up, but I'd like your thoughts on this, because I was. I started arguing with my betrothed about this tro.
[01:01:31] Ronnie Jams: Or are you guys actually married?
[01:01:33] Kenny Thunder: You know, both.
[01:01:36] Ronnie Jams: He dates his wife. What.
[01:01:38] Kenny Thunder: What did Jenny die of?
[01:01:40] Ronnie Jams: Disease.
What disease didn't she have? Like, aids, man.
[01:01:44] Kenny Thunder: It was aids, right?
[01:01:45] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:01:47] Kenny Thunder: I mean, her point was that they never specifically said it was aids, but
[01:01:50] Ronnie Jams: it was like it was aids, right? Yeah.
[01:01:53] Kenny Thunder: The implication was it was aids.
[01:01:55] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. They talked.
[01:01:56] Kenny Thunder: They.
[01:01:56] Ronnie Jams: They kind of.
It wasn't even, like, veiled. It was like. Like, hey, this is pretty much what I have.
[01:02:01] Kenny Thunder: I mean, we know she was promiscuous and doing drugs.
[01:02:06] Ronnie Jams: Sharing needles.
[01:02:07] Kenny Thunder: Sharing needles.
And it was a. It was a viru.
No one knew what to do or
[01:02:13] Ronnie Jams: how to treat the same symptoms.
[01:02:14] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. And struck her down in her 30s or whatever.
[01:02:18] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:02:19] Kenny Thunder: So it was. It was. It. I mean, we're in agreement that it was aids.
[01:02:22] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:02:23] Kenny Thunder: All right. Fair. That's what I said.
[01:02:25] Ronnie Jams: What?
[01:02:25] Kenny Thunder: What.
[01:02:26] Ronnie Jams: What. What did your betroth say?
[01:02:28] Kenny Thunder: She just said that it wasn't clear what she died of, because I was trying to think through.
[01:02:33] Ronnie Jams: I mean, I will say it probably was never explicitly stated, but it's. It's like I said, it wasn't even, like, veiled at most places.
[01:02:40] Kenny Thunder: I guess my question and the reason it came, because we were trying to go through the timeline of when did she actually contract aids?
Because she came back and slept with Forrest Gump. Got pregnant with little Forrest, and when he came back after he was running for three years, two months, 14 days, and 16 hours, little Haley Joel Osmond was, you know, probably three to four years old.
So when did she get AIDS? Does she have AIDS before she slept with Forrest and He just didn't contract.
Or did she leave after getting pregnant with. With Little Forest and get AIDS in the interim window while he was running?
[01:03:24] Ronnie Jams: I don't know the answer to that.
I don't know when it would have happened, but I did. While we were doing this, I did have to look this up because I was like, are we crazy? Or like, what's the deal?
And it turns out that the director purposefully left it open so that we could all interpret it as it was aids. Like, that was. He knew that was what the conclusion was going to be in the book. Because, remember, this was based off of a book.
[01:03:51] Kenny Thunder: Sure.
[01:03:51] Ronnie Jams: In the sequel.
The sequel novel is called Gump and Company.
[01:03:56] Kenny Thunder: There was a sequel to Forrest Gump.
[01:03:58] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Yeah. It states that she died from hepatitis C contracted from shared needles in the 1970s.
So interesting.
[01:04:08] Kenny Thunder: So it wasn't AIDS.
[01:04:08] Ronnie Jams: It wasn't AIDS. But that's. I mean, even. It even says in the original novel, like, it was kind of. They didn't actually say what it was. So everybody believed it was AIDS until it was confirmed in the sequel, the Truth no More. Yeah. I don't know. Sure.
You guys are getting a divorce over. You guys are getting unengaged over this.
[01:04:30] Kenny Thunder: I don't know. That's it.
[01:04:32] Ronnie Jams: I'm with you. It was aids.
[01:04:33] Kenny Thunder: I was gassed up about it.
[01:04:34] Ronnie Jams: It was aids.
[01:04:35] Kenny Thunder: I was mostly just guessing about them calling him a Guy Gardner.
[01:04:37] Ronnie Jams: To be fair, they literally state that it was expected that audiences would believe it was aids.
[01:04:45] Kenny Thunder: That was the one that made sense.
[01:04:46] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:04:47] Kenny Thunder: Right.
[01:04:47] Ronnie Jams: With the.
[01:04:47] Kenny Thunder: Fit with the timeline of the movie.
[01:04:49] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So great movie, though. If you haven't watched in a while, go watch it. Holds up, man. That's a great movie. It's just.
[01:04:56] Kenny Thunder: It was one of those, you know, you're flipping and it came on and I was like, yeah, definitely. We'll watch Forrest Gump again.
[01:05:01] Ronnie Jams: Least gassed up I've ever been during Gassed up, but it was worth it. I like Forest Gump.
[01:05:06] Kenny Thunder: I just wanted to talk about Forrest Gump.
[01:05:08] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. With that, let's go ahead and head over to King of the North.
You don't like this segment?
[01:05:30] Kenny Thunder: No, nothing happens in it. It's not the King of the North.
[01:05:33] Ronnie Jams: It'll be starting soon. John Hughes is returning this year for King of the North.
[01:05:36] Kenny Thunder: Not even playing King of the North.
[01:05:37] Ronnie Jams: Are you excited that John Hughes is coming back for King of the North?
[01:05:39] Kenny Thunder: I'm excited anytime John wants to talk to us.
[01:05:41] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:05:41] Kenny Thunder: John is the real deal. He played in the NFL.
[01:05:43] Ronnie Jams: John will be back for king of the north. But that's not important right now.
[01:05:47] Kenny Thunder: One time, John hit.
[01:05:48] Ronnie Jams: Speaking of butts. Speaking of butts. What is important is, Kenny, you still got to get your butthole waxed as punishment for losing king of the north this past year.
[01:05:56] Kenny Thunder: Thank you.
[01:05:57] Ronnie Jams: So stay tuned for that. We'll probably.
We're working on scheduling that it's going to be scheduled and you' to get waxed.
[01:06:04] Kenny Thunder: Excellent.
[01:06:05] Ronnie Jams: You're going to be bald as something Eagle.
Yeah, the bald eagle.
You're the bald eagle.
Now. Let me remind everybody to call the bur sports guys hot take hotline.
Don't forget to leave your hot takes on hot takes.
[01:06:19] Kenny Thunder: Call that.
[01:06:19] Ronnie Jams: Use your hot takes. 3302-2780-8133-0227-808-1330, 227-8081. Call now. Operators not standing by. We'll put you on the air.

Circus or something. I don't know. Kenny, what do you got for us?
[01:07:52] Kenny Thunder: I got the facts.
[01:07:54] Ronnie Jams: I hope you do whale facts when Bone's not here.
[01:07:57] Kenny Thunder: I wouldn't do that to Bone. Ah, solidarity with bone. Bone, wherever you are, I'm sure your family is wrecking your night.
No, Bone loves the kids.
Not like that. You know, you know he likes his kids.
[01:08:12] Ronnie Jams: What is happening?
[01:08:14] Kenny Thunder: I'll tell you what's happening. Facts for days.
[01:08:16] Ronnie Jams: I want to hear them.
[01:08:17] Kenny Thunder: Number one, octopuses.
[01:08:21] Ronnie Jams: Ooh, we're going. Sea creatures. I like this.
[01:08:23] Kenny Thunder: May experience a form of dreaming during an active phase of sleep.
They have a couple of different stages or phases of sleep. One quiet sleep. The octopus stays still, its breathing slows down and its eyes close tightly.
Active sleep. The animal twitches, moves its eyes, changes its breathing and rapidly shifts its skin colors and patterns. And finally, finally rem, like brain activity. Research published by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology shows that brain activity during active sleep closely mirrors their working state, much like REM sleep in humans.
[01:09:01] Ronnie Jams: Whoa.
[01:09:02] Kenny Thunder: What do octopi dream of when they take a little octopi snooze?
[01:09:08] Ronnie Jams: Did you prepare a song for that?
Didn't that was a thrill.
The part of the sleep where they just start changing colors rapidly would scare the out of me. Cuz have you seen the videos of them just like changing colors, they just completely disappear till you chop them and
[01:09:23] Kenny Thunder: then they get translucent.
Can you imagine if humans changed colors while we slept?
[01:09:30] Ronnie Jams: Octopi are scary. Humans changing colors would be even scarier. That reminds me of. What's that movie with Kevin Bacon back in the day? Hollow Man.
[01:09:39] Kenny Thunder: Haven't thought about that movie in a minute.
[01:09:40] Ronnie Jams: Scary one, huh? And he does all the worst things that you could do if you were invisible.
[01:09:46] Kenny Thunder: True. It's like GTA 6.
[01:09:48] Ronnie Jams: You love that game.
[01:09:50] Kenny Thunder: Number two.
[01:09:50] Ronnie Jams: You're like, I can't wait.
[01:09:52] Kenny Thunder: Number two.
Sea Otters.
[01:09:55] Ronnie Jams: Ooh.
[01:09:56] Kenny Thunder: They hold hands, keep and save their favorite rocks.
[01:10:00] Ronnie Jams: Oh yeah, yeah.
[01:10:01] Kenny Thunder: Sea otters have a loose flap of skin under their forearms. It acts like a built in pocket or pouch to store food and stones. They use these rocks as hammers or anvils to crack open hard shelled prey like clams, crabs and muscles.
Once an otter finds a rock with the right weight, size and shape. My precious.
[01:10:24] Ronnie Jams: I like the Lord of the Rings.
[01:10:26] Kenny Thunder: They often keep the same stones.
[01:10:28] Ronnie Jams: Gollum voice.
[01:10:29] Kenny Thunder: Months, years, or even their entire lives. And in their free time, otters have a lot of free time because they really don't have anything to do. They're just otters.
[01:10:37] Ronnie Jams: They're otters, man. All animals. They do whatever the they want.
[01:10:40] Kenny Thunder: They use their rock collections to practice dexterity. Dexterity by juggling and playing with them in the water.
[01:10:46] Ronnie Jams: Oh, nice.
Humans could really learn from like animals.
[01:10:49] Kenny Thunder: Like we should dream and keep rocks.
[01:10:52] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, well, we should just do less work that nobody wants to do.
[01:10:56] Kenny Thunder: Look, the work revolution's coming. AI is going to take all our jobs and soon we won't have nothing to do.
[01:11:02] Ronnie Jams: As long as I get to live on a beach while doing nothing, it'll probably be a dystopian future. We'll probably all be dead.
[01:11:07] Kenny Thunder: It's kind of like the I wish everyone had infinity money thing. Like, if everyone had infinity money, it would ruin the financial system and we'd all be poor.
[01:11:14] Ronnie Jams: I'm all for like the Matrix at this point. Like, just, just plug me in. I just let me as long.
[01:11:19] Kenny Thunder: You want to battle the machines.
[01:11:21] Ronnie Jams: No, no.
[01:11:22] Kenny Thunder: You want to keep living in the fiction.
[01:11:23] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, there you go.
[01:11:24] Kenny Thunder: You want to keep living in the simulation.
[01:11:26] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, yeah. Have you seen just you. You mentioned AI. This is your fault for bringing this up. Is like all this stuff. Like, I, I've been seeing so many people ask the question, like, you know, back 15, 20, 30 plus years ago, everybody's writing all these movies about AI and the AI revolution. And now it's here. Everybody's like, who the fuck wrote those movies back then? Like, who was responsible for putting those ideas in those people's heads?
[01:11:50] Kenny Thunder: Probably the same programmers that are programming us now. In the simulation that we live.
[01:11:54] Ronnie Jams: Like, we're accidentally waking up and they're
[01:11:56] Kenny Thunder: like, oh, no, it's purposely. We're in the simulation where.
[01:11:59] Ronnie Jams: Oh, have you not seen one of
[01:12:02] Kenny Thunder: these movies where it's a dystopian nightmare?
[01:12:04] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I have, but that's. They don't want us to wake up, so why would they make us learn?
[01:12:08] Kenny Thunder: Always ends the same way. The robots take over and annihilate humans, humanity.
[01:12:13] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
[01:12:13] Kenny Thunder: By the time we wake up, it's too late. That's how the story goes. Now is almost too late. We're six minutes to midnight.
[01:12:20] Ronnie Jams: I was, I was thinking you were saying we were already in the simul.
[01:12:23] Kenny Thunder: Like we're. Oh, no, we are in the simulation, but we are waking up to realize we are in the simulation.
[01:12:28] Ronnie Jams: Oh, and now it's just gonna start over. Like we're gonna annihilate it again and.
[01:12:31] Kenny Thunder: Well, once we wake up annihilated.
[01:12:34] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it'll be all over again. Then we'll be plugged in.
[01:12:37] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, the whole simulation idea is pretty wild. I mean, this idea of multiverses. And if there are multiverses, there are infinite multiverses. So there's infinite realities in which you live.
[01:12:47] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
Not good, man.
Anyways, what's your last animal number? Three sea otters. Bonus fact. I kind of already said it, but they hold hands so they don't float apart in the ocean. I think you already did that.
[01:12:58] Kenny Thunder: I did that one before. This was different. They have favorite rocks that they keep for their entire lives.
[01:13:02] Ronnie Jams: I need to tell my daughter about this. She collects rocks. She'll feel happy that an animal does.
[01:13:06] Kenny Thunder: Maybe she's a sea otter. Maybe number three.
[01:13:10] Ronnie Jams: Cats.
Cats.
[01:13:12] Kenny Thunder: Cats purr at frequencies between 20 and 150 hertz, of course, which is the specific range used in therapeutic medicine to stimulate bone growth and repair.
Research does show that different vibration frequencies affect different parts of the body. 25 to 50 hertz. That's low range. Frequencies correspond with what strengthens bones, improves density and helps mend fractures. 100 hertz and higher. This range is associated with reducing pain, easing breathing, and repairing soft tissues. Soft tissues like muscles and tendons.
[01:13:50] Ronnie Jams: Oh, so sorry. Different soft tissues.
[01:13:53] Kenny Thunder: Wow.
Numerically, the frequencies do overlap with what is used in human therapies. Proof that a cat's purr actively heals human bones is limited at best. Sitting with a purring cat has been shown to lower human stress, reduce blood pressure, and calm anxiety, which does help overall health. But the phys vibrations lacks the power and depth needed to actually penetrate and rebuild human bone tissue.
[01:14:18] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I would say, I would also add that.
[01:14:20] Kenny Thunder: I guess that fact is pretty useless because a can't cat's purr can't actually heal you.
[01:14:23] Ronnie Jams: It doesn't do anything despite being the
[01:14:25] Kenny Thunder: frequency that we use to heal bones.
[01:14:27] Ronnie Jams: Fair.
I would also argue that regardless the amount of reduced stress you get from the cat purring, if you have a crazy cat like ours, it could just freak out at any second and then you're anxiety ridden for a while because they jump up and get crazy.
[01:14:42] Kenny Thunder: I've had it with my cat. He's a really sweet cat. He's very nice, he's very gentle. But he's decided that he likes to sleep in our room and he can't just like sleep at the foot of the bed. Like the dog is pretty good. She sleeps at the foot of on our feet, like kind of out of the way. Now the cat decides just when it wants to that it's going to come sleep on your head.
[01:15:04] Ronnie Jams: Our cat used to be a kitten
[01:15:06] Kenny Thunder: just right on our head and it's, it's pissing me off.
[01:15:10] Ronnie Jams: You're gonna, you're gonna wake up dead one day because you're gonna be suffocated by cat.
[01:15:14] Kenny Thunder: I will be suffocated by cat.
[01:15:16] Ronnie Jams: I hope that's how you go.
[01:15:18] Kenny Thunder: I was trying to Use cats to heal me. And little did I know, it would be my demise.
[01:15:22] Ronnie Jams: I hope that's how you go. That would be the greatest day of my life.
[01:15:26] Kenny Thunder: That, my friend, is facts for days.
[01:15:29] Ronnie Jams: I, I, I think Bone would have been unimpressed with these facts. I feel like these were good facts.
[01:15:34] Kenny Thunder: Those were some high quality facts.
[01:15:35] Ronnie Jams: I don't know.
[01:15:36] Kenny Thunder: High quality H2O.
[01:15:37] Ronnie Jams: You're like the Browns. You're just really lacking right now.
[01:15:42] Kenny Thunder: You win some, you lose some, you lose most.
[01:15:44] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, yeah.
Bring me better facts.
[01:15:48] Kenny Thunder: All right. Better facts. Next week.
[01:15:51] Ronnie Jams: Your facts are a part of the problem.
[01:15:53] Kenny Thunder: Don't just be a part of the problem.
Bon appetit.
Be the hold in damn problem.
[01:16:00] Ronnie Jams: And only you can prevent river fires.
[01:16:04] Kenny Thunder: Burning river.
Burning rivers.
Burning the rivers.
I missed Bone tonight.
Felt bad to be boneless.
[01:16:15] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I don't like being boneless.
[01:16:17] Kenny Thunder: Bad of the bone.
Good night, Cleveland.
[01:16:28] Ronnie Jams: Good night, Cleveland. Good night, Akan. Quiet on set. I now have two loves in my life.
Big city living and a voodoo woman named Phyllis. I didn't think we'd be getting into Brad Pitt's ass.
I can't even say I didn't think
[01:16:46] Kenny Thunder: we'd be getting into Brad Pitt's ass.
[01:16:48] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, didn't think we'd get in there.
[01:16:50] Kenny Thunder: We talk a lot of analingus on this show.
[01:16:53] Ronnie Jams: So put your right foot in and take your right foot out. Then put your right foot in and shut the hell up. Because it's not time for the hokey pokey. It's time for the burning river Sports cat.
[01:17:03] Kenny Thunder: Motorboat.
[01:17:04] Ronnie Jams: You play the motorboat, you motorboat? Son of a. You old seal.
[01:17:09] Kenny Thunder: Are you. You know, I was thinking during that interview.
[01:17:11] Ronnie Jams: What? What were you? Nothing. Because you don't have thoughts. Because you're a brainless idiot.
[01:17:16] Kenny Thunder: Wow.
[01:17:17] Ronnie Jams: Mind name is Utred, Son of Utred, by the way. I want my foreskin back. It doesn't matter what you think.
[01:17:23] Kenny Thunder: Women's Guide to To Anal Sex. And it was the second edition. Who makes second edition? The weather outside is weather.
[01:17:32] Ronnie Jams: The other one. The finger. The finger eating food. Fingers. Oh, my God. My ass is full of she.
[01:17:39] Kenny Thunder: Everywhere.
[01:17:40] Ronnie Jams: Yes.
[01:17:40] Kenny Thunder: Ejaculate all over my body and my genitals.
[01:17:43] Ronnie Jams: Yes. Oh, no.
[01:17:45] Kenny Thunder: We suck again. You don't need fundamentals when you got heart.
And Jesus.
[01:17:50] Ronnie Jams: And Jesus.
[01:17:51] Kenny Thunder: That's right.
[01:17:52] Ronnie Jams: Touchdown. Anyway. What do you mean funny?
[01:17:54] Kenny Thunder: Funny how?
[01:17:54] Ronnie Jams: How am I funny? It's going down. I'm yelling.
[01:17:58] Kenny Thunder: Timber.
[01:18:01] Ronnie Jams: Should we start a meat podcast? Like, like, like, like the meat pod.
Slow roasted.
[01:18:09] Kenny Thunder: The leads are worse.
[01:18:10] Ronnie Jams: Weak leads.
[01:18:11] Kenny Thunder: Are weak.
Leads are weak.
[01:18:14] Ronnie Jams: You're weak. What?
No browns, baby. All I do is win, win, win, no matter what. Erroneous. Erroneous on both counts.
[01:18:23] Kenny Thunder: Oh, Lord.
[01:18:23] Ronnie Jams: I mean, when I last year, when I won and went home, you know, my wife's pants hit the ground.
[01:18:28] Kenny Thunder: Wow.
[01:18:29] Ronnie Jams: But damn.
[01:18:29] Kenny Thunder: I'm sorry I hijacked your segment for a second to do some good podcasting.
[01:18:35] Ronnie Jams: You know why, mister?
[01:18:36] Kenny Thunder: Because you drove a hundred day to get here tonight.
[01:18:39] Ronnie Jams: I drove an $80,000 BMW.
[01:18:41] Kenny Thunder: That's my name.
[01:18:45] Ronnie Jams: I live my life a quarter mile at a time.
[01:18:48] Kenny Thunder: You guys immediately insulted him.
[01:18:51] Ronnie Jams: I desperately want to make love for this cheese.
[01:18:53] Kenny Thunder: We need cheese, girl. Now. Down.
[01:18:55] Ronnie Jams: Go, Sanderson, down.
[01:18:58] Kenny Thunder: Who's canceled now?
Who's canceled now?
[01:19:01] Ronnie Jams: Probably me.
[01:19:02] Kenny Thunder: You making it for the fat people.
[01:19:05] Ronnie Jams: I'm not just you.
[01:19:07] Kenny Thunder: We're a whole race, basically.
[01:19:10] Ronnie Jams: No way. You're just straight. Just finger bang their salad.
[01:19:15] Kenny Thunder: You first get shocked and then you get the shocker.
You like to see almost naked.
[01:19:22] Ronnie Jams: That's cool, man.
[01:19:23] Kenny Thunder: Whatever.
[01:19:23] Ronnie Jams: No, no, no, no, no.
[01:19:29] Kenny Thunder: Entertained?
[01:19:30] Ronnie Jams: Are you not entertained?
[01:19:34] Kenny Thunder: Is this not why you were here?
