[00:01:11] Speaker A: It's time time for the Burning River Sportscast. Happy Bye week. Boy, it was time for a break. This team has been depressing, demoralizing and doleful, and not having to watch the team lose for a week restored some much needed mental stability for all of us. But now that the bye week came and went, we get to see the fruits of their break. Was trading Zadarius Smith the key to a successful Browns turnaround? Do we think the team has made any significant adjustments during their time off? Neither is likely nor probable. In fact, at one point I was mad. I was mad this year about DeSean's poor play, about coaches and teammates defending it, about wasting another year, about fulfilling the annual prophecy of Brown's fandom and cheering for a losing team that has no interest in winning. But I'm not anymore.
I've reached utter apathy. This team failed essentially on purpose and there's nothing any of us can do about it.
So let's get ready to suck some ass and snort some glass because there's still eight weeks to watch this train wreck. And if you're sober, it'll just take longer till it's over. The hell Ride continues and we'll break it all down for you next on the Burning River Sportscast.
[00:02:23] Speaker B: Because everybody knows the border of Cincinnati is Kentucky.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: Yeah, that's Kentucky.
[00:02:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it's because there's so damn good and everybody just wants a reason.
[00:02:31] Speaker C: Everybody's hyper focused on them.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: Yeah, they just want a reason why they're so good. And the reason is it's rigged.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: At what point does the spiral start where you're just all of a sudden you're a drug lord?
[00:02:48] Speaker B: And talk about the Week 11 matchup with this. Well, I bit my the Saints. I bit my tongue with the Saints.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: Bowen's already speaking French.
[00:02:57] Speaker B: You know how long I've been waiting for this? Woo. I'm about to make a name for myself here. You're fire.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: The Saints defense is one big gay orgy. Just kidding. But they do have a dude named Willie Gay and a dude named Anthony orgy.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: No not that Jermaine Jackson.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: They have also added the coolest name in football in second round defensive back Kool Aid McKinstry this year, who has three pass defenses on the season.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. All right.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: That's the second coolest next to Gay orgy, but that's an ensemble.
[00:03:28] Speaker B: Your preferred vernacular is idiot.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: I had no idea that she was like. Like sex pot.
[00:03:37] Speaker B: Sex pot is one of the funniest.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: Words in all of.
[00:03:40] Speaker B: All of the English language.
[00:03:42] Speaker C: Powerball's got all those hoes going strong.
[00:03:46] Speaker B: But if it's a two way tie through three tiebreakers, we pee on each other.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Yes. So technically speaking, they just have funny arms.
[00:03:53] Speaker B: Nah, you got eight arms.
Oh, in the sands oh, in the sands Go marching in Go marching in the sands Go marching.
Boone, what do you think about all this?
[00:04:07] Speaker C: About space and time? Yeah, I don't think about it.
[00:04:15] Speaker B: Fair.
[00:04:17] Speaker C: It's easier that way.
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Welcome into the Burning River Sportscast, presented by the fine folks at Tappin Media. I'm Kenny Thunder, joined today by a man who once played board games with Freddie Prinze Jr. He sunk his battleship, the inscrutable red ironic jams. And on the board today, something ringing. Is that your telebone? I think he is. He's the big bone man. Bone.
[00:04:43] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:04:44] Speaker A: If you could have a couch with either no seat or no back, which would you prefer? And why no back?
[00:04:50] Speaker C: Because I would just sit on it like a stool. Like a stool?
[00:04:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: Hanging on a man.
[00:04:57] Speaker C: It sounded like more of a trick question than it was.
[00:04:59] Speaker A: Well, yeah, it wasn't a trick question.
[00:05:01] Speaker B: If it had no back, you couldn't sit on it.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: When you sit on the floor. I would actually just the back, just so I could like lay against something, you know. Okay, back to red hot. [00:06:48] Speaker A: Give it to me again.
Enjoy it.
[00:06:51] Speaker B: Let's get things started with the Burning river news story of the week.
[00:06:56] Speaker A: That was sexual.
[00:07:12] Speaker B: Guys.
[00:07:13] Speaker A: What's up?
[00:07:14] Speaker B: Burn over news story of the week this week.
[00:07:15] Speaker A: Yeah. What's happening?
[00:07:17] Speaker B: The Cleveland Cavaliers have started the season 110 and counting.
[00:07:23] Speaker C: A local story.
[00:07:24] Speaker B: Yeah, you guys heard that, right? Best start in franchise history. Third best in NBA history so far. Best start since the 15 Warriors. And the top team in the NBA right now, undefeated. Basically everything that the Browns are. The Cavs are the exact opposite.
[00:07:41] Speaker A: The last time The Cavs started 80 and Donald Trump got elected president, they won a goddamn championship.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Those are facts.
[00:07:48] Speaker A: Facts.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Hashtag facts for days.
I don't. Guys, they're playing so well. It's stupid. Like, they're averaging like 130 points a game.
[00:07:56] Speaker A: Kenny Atkinson has unlocked everything that the previous team could not do.
[00:08:02] Speaker B: It was like if they mixed your name and my name and they came up with a coach and that's where. That's where they're at.
[00:08:07] Speaker A: That's why they're so good.
[00:08:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's two brains are.
[00:08:10] Speaker C: Everybody's playing together. It's fantastic.
[00:08:12] Speaker B: They really are. And Donovan Mitchell looks like MVP caliber player right now.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I was just having this conversation with somebody at bowling on Friday. They were like, do the Cavs even have even good players? I was like, what? I was like, donovan Mitchell's pretty good. He's probably the top 10 to 15 player in the league, at least.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: Tell me you don't watch basketball without telling me you don't watch basketball.
[00:08:32] Speaker A: Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, like, those dudes aren't bad.
[00:08:37] Speaker C: Jared Allen.
[00:08:38] Speaker A: Jared Allen. Yeah.
[00:08:39] Speaker B: It's like these guys are literally their front court or back court. That would be back court. Guards are back court.
[00:08:45] Speaker A: Yes, back.
[00:08:46] Speaker B: Their backcourt is like, the best backcourt in the league.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: Yeah, it was really good. They're really in.
[00:08:51] Speaker B: Their front court is really good, too. They got the best center in the league.
[00:08:53] Speaker A: So I'm glad that they started because they're actually starting to get some press now about it. Like, they started out well, like, when you win four or five, six games, and then like, to the point where.
[00:09:02] Speaker B: They'Re like, this isn't a fluke anymore. They're really good.
[00:09:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Once they hit 10 and no, like, CNN had them as, like, a story just over the weekend. It's like, hits national news now. Like, the commentators, like your Stephen A's and these guys have to start talking about the Cavs because you have to.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Because the warriors aren't that good anymore. And the Cavs are really good.
[00:09:17] Speaker A: No, they shit on the Warriors. Yeah, it was like 80.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: Beat them by, like 41.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: It was like 80 to 35 at halftime.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: I think we legitimately beat him by 41.
[00:09:24] Speaker A: And they got it down to like 24 points in the fourth quarter, and it was almost like, ooh, well, they're coming back. Oh, we're still up 24 points. Yes.
[00:09:32] Speaker B: That's the season the Cavs are having so far. It got to 24 points, and we were like, oh, are we up enough? We're in trouble.
[00:09:38] Speaker C: Yeah, they're getting laxadaisical.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, just a phenomenal start from them. And I know, Kenny, you made.
You made a comment when we were talking about the Cavs earlier off air, and he said it's almost like they got to lose now that just get the monkey off the.
[00:09:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, you don't. You don't want it to, like, start being a thing now where they're like, oh, when are we going to lose? Like, you want just the. You want to get their mind clear. So, like, one loss probably would do them good.
[00:10:01] Speaker B: No.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: Just to kind of humble them.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: Absolutely not.
[00:10:03] Speaker A: And recenter them and go like, we don't like that feel. 82 and oh, let's win another 11.
[00:10:06] Speaker C: 82 and oh, I mean, 82 and.
[00:10:08] Speaker A: Oh, I'd be fine with that.
[00:10:11] Speaker B: No, seriously, though, what. How awesome. Would it be if the Cavs just came out to start the season and beat the record from 15 where. I think it was either. It was either 22 or 23 and O by the Warriors?
[00:10:22] Speaker A: I'd like him to. I'd like him to beat 73 and 9.
[00:10:24] Speaker B: Yeah, that would be dope ass. Yeah, I think it was. No, that was the following year that they went 73 and 9.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: But either way, the year that we beat them was 73 and 9.
[00:10:32] Speaker B: Yeah. But I think it was the year before that that they started out real hot. Yes.
[00:10:36] Speaker A: They won a lot of games during that splash.
[00:10:38] Speaker B: They. Oh, we're really good. We beat the Cavs every year in the finals, except for one.
[00:10:42] Speaker A: Let's go get Kevin Durant.
[00:10:45] Speaker B: We were up 3:1 and blew the lead.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: Did you see there? Two things. So Kevin Durant. Durant was talking about, like, you know, the LeBron statues, Dwyane Wade statues. He's like, I'm never going to get a statue anywhere because, like, no one likes him. Because the way he read his career.
[00:11:00] Speaker B: He'S just a sellout. Like, everywhere. He's just a sellout.
[00:11:04] Speaker A: And the second point is just like, LeBron James turned this team down. He was like, I don't really want to be a part of that. Like, he could have came back here. And he was like, yeah, I got to stay in LA.
Yeah, go make movies, LeBron.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: This team wouldn't be what it is if we had LeBron back. Yeah.
[00:11:19] Speaker A: I mean, if. I agree, if you had all the pieces in place and you had LeBron.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: You'D have to give up multiple pieces to get LeBron.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: You know, LeBron does what he wants.
[00:11:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:28] Speaker A: LeBron's LeBron.
[00:11:28] Speaker B: Listen, I'm. I actually want to talk about this real quick, because I'm a huge LeBron fan.
Like. Like, overall, he's my favorite basketball player of all time, but he wrecks every team he ever goes to. Like, yeah, they're good while he's there, but as soon as he's left, like, he's left them in shambles. Yeah, like, absolute shambles.
[00:11:48] Speaker A: He got Brownie drafted, so that's really.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: Working out for him.
Speaking of that, his. His G League debut, he went like 2 of 9 and over. Over four from three points, so.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: Well, I saw he matched a season high when he was in Cleveland.
[00:12:04] Speaker B: Two.
[00:12:04] Speaker A: Made one bucket. Yeah.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: Wow. Look at him go. Look at him go. That was actually his first points in the NBA. And then he must have got.
[00:12:12] Speaker A: Look, I actually feel bad for Bronny because Like you, it's, you know, to be the son of LeBron James, Tiger. Like, I mean, Charlie actually has a shot because he's playing really good golf and he's still really young. But I mean, it's just impossible to like, live up to that expectation.
[00:12:28] Speaker B: Well, and with. See, I agree. But at the same time, I'm like, for Bronnie, it's like they've put so much of a spotlight on him by like, he left school early. Like, he could have kept going to school and like, true, like, you know, developing and whatever. Like.
[00:12:43] Speaker A: Yeah, but once you're in it though, and you have like, he's like, you figure that kid by the time he was like 14, had handlers, you know.
[00:12:49] Speaker B: Like, yeah, he's got, he's got a three year NBA career ahead of him.
[00:12:53] Speaker A: You're kind of like, you do pretty much what people tell you at that point because they're really running your career.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I get it. Unfortunately, like I said, three year NBA career ahead of him.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, I'm a little.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: Maybe he's going to get his rookie contract. LeBron coach him up maybe, maybe.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: But he won't ever be LeBron.
[00:13:10] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know how we got here from the Cavaliers being so good, but the Cavs are fantastic. That's all that matters. One more thing before we get to the Browns, let me remind everybody to call the Bernard Gross sportscast.
Don't forget to call. Leave your hot takes on the hot take hotline. Remember, these are hot takes. We want hot takes.
[00:13:24] Speaker A: We want hot takes.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: We want hot takes.
How long are we going to ask for hot takes before we get hot takes?
[00:13:30] Speaker A: We got one once.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: Yeah, we got a hot take once. It was the hottest take.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: It was a hot take.
[00:13:35] Speaker B: That guy was. It was so fired up.
[00:13:37] Speaker C: Yeah, he was wasted.
[00:13:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Hot takes. 330-227-880. Sorry.
[00:13:44] Speaker A: 330-2278-080.
[00:13:46] Speaker C: 330-2278, 0803302278, 080.
[00:13:51] Speaker B: Call now. Operators are not standing by, but we'll put you on the air.
[00:13:53] Speaker A: Nope, nope, nope.
[00:13:55] Speaker B: And with that, you know, obviously it was a bye week last week, so no, no weekly recap. No dog of the week. So we're going to go straight into other Browns news here before we get to the division roundup. Coming out of the bye week, the Browns had perfect attendance at Monday's practice. Wow. This doesn't count. People that are on IR obviously, like J. Okay. Wasn't There. Sure. But everybody else was. So the initial injury report after the buy comes out on Wednesday.
So we'll see then who we actually.
[00:14:23] Speaker A: Scared me. I thought maybe the shaman's back.
[00:14:25] Speaker B: No.
[00:14:25] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:14:26] Speaker B: No, no, no. I'm sorry.
[00:14:29] Speaker C: Miraculous recovery.
[00:14:30] Speaker B: I truly apologize for that. We're throwing them out there. That's not what I wanted to go with.
[00:14:34] Speaker A: Just rub some dirt on it.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: Yeah. But with that, let's get into the division roundup.
So this past week, while the Browns were on by just a couple division games here, because two of the teams played each other, and that was Baltimore hosting the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. And what was a fucking wild game.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: Sure was.
[00:15:06] Speaker B: Yeah. So I was in Cincinnati for this, actually. I had a conference that I went to, and I was in Cincinnati and the bars watching.
[00:15:14] Speaker A: You mean. You mean you were in Kentucky?
[00:15:16] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: Fair.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: I was in Kentucky this week.
[00:15:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:20] Speaker B: Well, no, I was in Miami'sburg, so I was in Ohio. I was just north of Kentucky, so. Yeah.
Because everybody knows the border of Cincinnati is Kentucky.
[00:15:32] Speaker A: Yeah, that's Kentucky.
[00:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:33] Speaker A: You're basically in Covington as soon as you get to.
[00:15:36] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. So. But anyways, I was in the bars down there, and, you know, the Bengals fans were all out going nuts, and I just laughed when they lost. Although I didn't want the Ravens to win either. I just wanted both teams to lose. So, yeah, like, it was funny. At one point, I cheered when the Ravens made a good play. Cause I wanted the Bengals to lose, but I was like, wait, I also want them to lose. So I don't.
[00:15:57] Speaker A: Sometimes when I'm watching the Ravens, I'm like, that's my football team. Like, they're the Browns.
[00:16:02] Speaker B: I don't. That's weird because you said you hate them the most out of everybody.
[00:16:04] Speaker A: I mean, I hate them because they moved and it became the Ravens, But I'm just like, man, that's the Browns. That's the real Browns out there.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: What could have been.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: What could have been? Like, if they were still here in Cleveland. That would be the Browns. That would be us.
Yeah, maybe it feels bad. I mean, what a classic AFC north game, though. Just back and forth all night long.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: But everybody there. You should have heard the bar when they went for. When the Bengals went for two to try and just win the game in regulation. They were so mad when they missed, which obviously you're going to be mad because they missed it, but I said before the play even happened, I'm like, yeah, this is the right move. Like, you don't go to overtime in Baltimore. Right here.
[00:16:39] Speaker A: The Ravens pass defense is shit. Joey Burrow through five touchdowns, sounds like.
[00:16:43] Speaker B: And I actually got somebody there because they're like, they're like. I said the odds are better. And they're like, what do you mean the odds are better? And I was like, I mean, you leave it up to like 50, 50 chance, you go into overtime. It's whoever gets the ball.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: And they're like, well, what are the odds on a. On a two point conversion? I said, right, about 55%. So, yeah, it's better. You just, you go for two, go for the win.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Both quarterbacks just absolute masterclass in that game. I think Lamar had four touchdowns like Joey Burrow had five. Like, just ridiculous. All night long.
[00:17:10] Speaker B: And the Bengals suck ass this year, so we're not talking about Joe Burrow enough. But Joe Burrow is like, he's playing MVP caliber football right now. Really outstanding, which is surprising with his wrist injury and everything else. And I know it has hampered him at times, so it's surprising he's playing.
[00:17:24] Speaker A: Chase got like 30 passes for like 400 yards.
[00:17:26] Speaker B: Oh, he was on my fantasy team. He got 56 points. Yeah, it was. I forget the number of pass. I want to say it was nine for 234 and three touchdowns, I think is what it was.
[00:17:36] Speaker C: Jamar chase, it was 11 for 264.
[00:17:39] Speaker A: 264.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: I said 230 and three touchdowns. Three touchdowns. I knew that. Yeah, yeah, it was. It was wild.
[00:17:45] Speaker A: Ridiculous.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: But yeah, I mean, just a crazy game.
[00:17:49] Speaker A: I'm happy for Thursday Night Football because they've had quite a few clunkers. I mean, they finally got like a really good.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: They got the Browns coming up.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: Classic game out there.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: Yeah, they got the Browns coming up. Not this week, but next week. So there's always that. But yeah, we were all right in.
[00:18:01] Speaker A: This game and just kind of like watching that game, when you're watching that going, these are the other two teams in our division like we are so far.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: It was like they were playing a completely different game. So, like, what happened here from being.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: Either one of those teams.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: And the Bengals are the bad team. They're only a couple games ahead of us.
[00:18:15] Speaker A: Bengals is a bad one.
[00:18:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. But we were all right. Regardless of how it happened. It happened. Baltimore beat Cincinnati like we all said they were.
[00:18:24] Speaker A: Final note about Cincinnati being Kentucky. I actually wore my. This shirt to vote at the polling location on Tuesday. And the guy said to me, he said, I worked in Covington for 20 years. And he said, you know, you're right.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: He just fully accepted. He's like.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: He's like, they talk differently to you down there. You know, as soon as I got down there, I was sweetie or sugar pie. It's just. He's. It's Kentucky.
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Well, there you have it. A resident of the area has acknowledged that Cincinnati is indeed in Kentucky.
Next up here, though, Pittsburgh travel traveled to Washington to take on the Commanders and won a close game. Beat them on a hard count. The poor, poor rookie defensive lineman that Bones favorite quarterback of all time, got to jump offside.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: Yeah, he's really great at the hard count.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Here's what I'll say is I know that me and Bone were wrong in this and we picked the Commanders to win and you picked the Steelers, Kenny. But we should have known because Mike Tomlin is 28 and five against rookie quarterbacks. I did say this, so I should have known.
[00:19:30] Speaker A: And that was a Mike Tomlin move. Hey, we're going hard count here.
[00:19:33] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I gave Russell Wilson the credit, but I mean, it was definitely. I mean, that was. That was both of them. That was. That was execution by Russell Wilson in the call by Mike Tomlin, he's like, we got to go hard counting. That rookie lineman. That's right. Itching to make a play is going to jump offline.
[00:19:49] Speaker C: Do you guys think. I think there's the previous position. Do you think he had the first down on the catch as Zach Ertz?
[00:19:54] Speaker A: It was so close. I thought it was a poor spot.
[00:19:56] Speaker C: I thought it was a whole yard behind of where it was a poor.
[00:19:58] Speaker A: Spot, but it was so close, and I don't know that you could see anything on replay.
[00:20:02] Speaker B: You talk about the commanders.
[00:20:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I think he had it.
[00:20:05] Speaker C: I kind of thought he did, too.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: But when he first caught it because obviously it's. It's. It's for, you know, forward progress.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: Yeah. It's like breaking the plane to the end.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, when he first caught it, he was. Was passed in my eyes, I think.
[00:20:16] Speaker A: But the issue. I think it was moving backwards.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I think it was the right call in the end because I just. They called him short on the field, and then there was just not enough to over.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: That's my whole thing is like the call on the field was short and those guys are there watching it, and if you can't see it clearly on replay, I would like. I would have been annoyed. Not because I picked the Steelers to win, but I would have been annoyed if they would have overturned that on replay because you couldn't see.
[00:20:41] Speaker B: Right. I fully agree with that. And again, do I think they got it? I think they got it, but that's not what the call was. And so you have to be able to overturn it.
[00:20:50] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: And they couldn't.
[00:20:51] Speaker A: Another great game, though.
[00:20:52] Speaker B: Fantastic.
Fantastic. I actually, you know, we have rooting interest in this because obviously now, yes, Kenny, you are ahead of me per tiebreakers in King of the north, which we'll get to. But I had a rooting interest. I was, like, really into this, and I was like, ah, they got it. And then Steelers started dance party, and I was like, what? The Steelers looked like the Browns out there dancing.
But, yeah. So for the AFC north right now, Pittsburgh is on top at 7 and 2, Baltimore's at 7 and 3. Right behind them, Cincinnati at 4 and 6, and Cleveland at 2 and 7. Coming out of the by. So current King of the north standings, Kenny, get excited. Bone is in first place at 18 and 16, and Kenny and me, in that order due to tiebreakers, are right behind him at 17 and 17.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: Feels good to be back to. 500.
[00:21:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:43] Speaker A: Rough start to the year.
[00:21:44] Speaker B: I've been hovering right here for the last couple weeks, and I'm like, can I please just win a few so that I don't have to be a.500 anymore?
[00:21:49] Speaker A: Feels good to at least be back to.500.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: It was a really rough start. We were. We were down there into, like, I think at one point, your win percentage was like, 13%.
[00:21:59] Speaker A: It was bad. It was bad.
[00:22:01] Speaker B: So, you know, good job on all of us to come back and get to this point.
[00:22:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:07] Speaker B: But, yeah, next up here, let's take a quick trip around the NFL.
All right, so first up in. Around the NFL, the Jets.
The Jets. We love talking about the jets because they're the only other team in the NFL that you can make the argument they're as depressing as the Browns, except.
[00:22:37] Speaker A: I think they won one more game than we did.
[00:22:39] Speaker B: They did. But they also, I guess, collectively, the expectations were right about the same. So, yeah, they're. I guess.
[00:22:46] Speaker A: But I feel like theirs were unfounded. Oh. Theirs were based solely on Aaron Rodgers. Yeah.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, I would absolutely agree with that part of it, for sure, but they were riding high. They were telling everybody how good they were gonna be.
[00:22:56] Speaker A: They were so bad, they fired their coach, like, four weeks into the season.
[00:22:59] Speaker B: So, yeah. But, yeah, so, yeah, I mean, it's happening for them. They're. They. They got to kind of start figuring out what they're going to do, right. They, they, they're staring down $49 million in dead cap space. Aaron Rodgers is not good. So is it, I mean, is it time? Is. What do you guys think? Is it is. Does Aaron Rogers retire after this season?
[00:23:19] Speaker A: I feel like pride won't let him retire.
[00:23:22] Speaker B: Well, he, when you hear him talk, he thinks he's the best quarterback in the NFL still.
[00:23:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I don't think he thinks that they're that far off, but I just don't think that team is good. So I mean, unless he's planning on going.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: They don't have a coach.
[00:23:35] Speaker A: Unless he's planning on going to play for somebody else. Maybe he'll pull the Brett Favre and go to Minnesota.
[00:23:39] Speaker B: They are looking for someone right now.
[00:23:40] Speaker A: I'm not sure about Sam Darnold there.
[00:23:42] Speaker B: Yeah. But J.J. will be back next year. So will they take him?
[00:23:45] Speaker A: I mean, JJ is a poor man's.
[00:23:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I totally agree. I agree. But they, they wasted a top pick on him, so.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. I don't know. It'd be interesting to see. I just.
[00:23:56] Speaker B: How wild would it be if he went the exact same route as Brett Favre though, and went to Minnesota?
[00:24:01] Speaker A: I wouldn't mind that. I just, I just don't. Again, we talked about this few times recently. Like, I just don't understand the infatuation with the Jets. Like they're, they have, they were good once. They haven't been good like ever.
[00:24:12] Speaker B: Don't do the chant. Don't do it.
[00:24:14] Speaker A: But, but they have a lot of fans out there for whatever reason.
[00:24:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
Enough about the Jets. They're trash.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: Trash.
[00:24:22] Speaker B: Next up, we kept our receipts too.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: Robert.
[00:24:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. You don't even have a job anymore.
[00:24:26] Speaker A: Robert Salah.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: Yeah. How are those receipts sitting at home?
Keep your receipts.
[00:24:33] Speaker A: Tax man's coming.
[00:24:34] Speaker B: And next up here, Jared Goff threw five interceptions and somehow the Detroit Lions still won a game.
[00:24:41] Speaker A: Another incredible game in Houston. Came out and played a really nice first half and seemed like they could do anything they wanted to.
[00:24:47] Speaker B: I think this, this might be a graph that I took a picture of.
[00:24:51] Speaker A: And then Detroit, I mean they just hung tight and just kept fighting in that game. And I mean, what a comeback. What a win.
[00:24:58] Speaker B: It wasn't that one, but yeah, I mean, and they were playing a first team, a first team in their division team on the road. Like all these things that are stacked against you for being able to win games where you turn the ball over a lot.
[00:25:09] Speaker A: Houston had. Houston broke out the dope ass jerseys.
[00:25:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:11] Speaker A: And everything.
[00:25:12] Speaker B: Yeah, they just. And they, you know, top ranked, one of the higher ranked defenses, I believe, like all these different things and they just.
[00:25:20] Speaker A: And I will say that, like, Houston's gonna be fine. Like, Houston's a good football team and their division is trash, so they don't have to win that many games to make the playoffs this year.
[00:25:28] Speaker B: I think Houston's going through this thing where they got a lot of young players and like, they're, they are a good football team, but they haven't fully figured out like, when the, when everything stacked up against them, like, who are we?
[00:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah, they just get like, they get.
[00:25:42] Speaker B: Like when they're, when they're winning and.
[00:25:43] Speaker A: Like your stretches, they're streaky.
[00:25:47] Speaker B: And when they're winning and everything's going right, they're fantastic. But it's like when they hit some adversity. I'm talking specifically in game, it seems like they still haven't figured out their identity of like, what's our go to when chips are down.
[00:25:58] Speaker A: I think CJ has to still mature a little bit. I think, you know, all the accolades and stuff from last year, it kind of was. Seemed like it was easy for him. And I think the reality of the NFL setting in that it's, it's. He's going to have to continue to get better at reading defenses, getting rid of the ball quickly, those sorts of things. So. But they're going to be fine. I mean, they're a good football team. Yeah, but what a win for Detroit. I mean, good on them.
[00:26:20] Speaker B: Absolutely. Next up here, the Giants Giant loss in Germany.
Listen, the Germany game was fantastic. Once again, it did not disappoint. As far as the crowd goes, I love watching the crowds and like all of the. What are they called, the games for.
[00:26:38] Speaker A: The European series or whatever?
[00:26:39] Speaker B: Yeah, whatever. Yeah, just all the games they play around the world because the crowds are nuts. They're so excited to have American football where they are. This one didn't disappoint. I don't know if you guys saw the crowd. They put on Country Roads by John Denver and Country Road. Yeah, the entire crowd was so loud that you couldn't even hear the announcers in their microphones talking to you. And it kept going like, you know, in America, once the play starts, we all kind of shut up and we're like, oh, football started a game. No, when the play started, they just kept singing. And like you did. You didn't even know what was going on.
[00:27:20] Speaker A: Did you see the size of the beers in the stands that those Guys had. They were like full pitchers. They were like half gallon beers.
[00:27:25] Speaker B: Yeah, they were real beers. Yeah.
[00:27:28] Speaker C: Real Oktoberfest.
[00:27:29] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. So just really cool to see. I love watching these games over there. And Ed Hockey's son, what's his name?
[00:27:37] Speaker A: Sean, maybe.
[00:27:38] Speaker B: Sean Hockey, I don't know, was just out there calling penalties in German, which was awesome.
[00:27:42] Speaker C: That's cool.
[00:27:43] Speaker B: Yeah, he called the first one. It was a false start on the offense. Five yard, I think is what it was. And he called the whole thing in German.
[00:27:50] Speaker A: Pretty funny.
[00:27:51] Speaker B: And the crowd went nuts.
[00:27:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:27:52] Speaker B: So I like the announcers too. They were like. They didn't know it was coming. And when he started doing it, they were like, oh, look at this guy.
[00:28:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:02] Speaker B: So just a cool moment. And then finally, just from the Giants game, Danny Dimes, up until last week, I know this doesn't have to do with this week, but. Or this past week, but the week before that, he threw his first touchdown at home in almost two years. So the Danny Dimes project is probably.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: Coming to an end. Feels bad. Yeah. Brian Dabel, finally, like at the end of that game in the press conference was kind of like, yeah, everything's on the table. So you don't throw a touchdown in two years at home. That's bad.
[00:28:27] Speaker B: It's real bad. Literally, like, probably like, I don't know, 20. Some other football teams have thrown touchdown pass in your stadium before you.
[00:28:35] Speaker A: Really, really bad.
[00:28:36] Speaker B: Yeah. So next up here, in the three games the Bears have played since returning from London, Caleb Williams has completed just 48 of 95 passes. That's 50.5% thrown for 468 yards. Only 156 yards per game. Owns a 64.7 passer rating. And has the Bears contemplating a QB change due to, quote, regression.
[00:28:57] Speaker A: I mean, he regressed before he got in the NFL. Like, I don't think.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: Didn't we call this.
So, yeah, Bone.
[00:29:05] Speaker C: That's worse than desean.
[00:29:08] Speaker B: Oh, no. If you're worse than desean, you shouldn't be playing.
[00:29:11] Speaker A: Yeah, that's really bad. Yeah, I mean, I don't. Look, I think it's. I think it's a little bit unfair. I mean, he's a rookie quarterback on a team that I don't think is that great, but apparently Eber Fluss and those guys are.
Come on, a guy's name is Eber Fluss?
I mean, they think he should be playing better. He hasn't thrown any picks in the last couple of games, but he doesn't throw any touchdowns either. So. So True. Not good. Not good at all.
[00:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah. So I mean, Caleb Williams well on his way to being the bust that all of us here on the Burning river sports cast thought he would be.
[00:29:38] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:29:40] Speaker B: Feels good for us.
[00:29:41] Speaker A: I take, I take that line.
[00:29:44] Speaker B: And then finally in around the NFL, more conspiracy theories with the refs. Guys, Patrick Mahomes was caught on the hot mic this week saying to the ref, quote, can you let me know if he's close? Tell, tell me, tell me, tell me.
[00:29:58] Speaker A: And this was on a. So I think this, it was, it was a weird situation because it happened on a play that he scrambled on and then get ended up getting tackled near the sideline. So when he got up, it almost seemed like he was asking the ref to tell him, like if someone was going to be close to tackling him. Like that's the way it appeared to everybody at home. And obviously the Internet took that and ran away.
[00:30:22] Speaker B: Oh, of course, the Internet never fails.
[00:30:24] Speaker A: I think the more plausible explanation is, I think there was an illegal formation call on play, a pre snap penalty and it had to do with where the right tackle was lined up. They've been watching that. We've talked about that early interseason that that was a point of emphasis this year that they've been watching as these linemen kind of cheat back off the line of scrimmage and they called them for being too far off line of scrimmage. I think at least that's what seems plausible is that he was saying, hey, if my guys aren't lining up right, can you let me know so that I can fix it before the play?
[00:30:58] Speaker B: Yeah. So what do you guys think? Either conspiracy or was it just simply that? Was it just like a let me know where my guys lined up.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: But I do think it's funny though that every time something like this happens, it's the Chiefs.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: It is always the Chiefs.
[00:31:09] Speaker C: It's always the Chiefs.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: It's because they're so damn good. And everybody just wants a reason.
[00:31:13] Speaker C: Everybody's hyper focused on them.
[00:31:15] Speaker B: Yeah. They just want a reason why they're so good. Good. And the reason is it's rigged.
And the reason is because they're just, they're just good, unfortunately. Or it's. Or because it's rigged.
[00:31:28] Speaker A: Or it's rigged.
[00:31:29] Speaker B: Or it's rigged or not. It could be.
[00:31:31] Speaker A: Could be. You can't. Can't prove it's not.
[00:31:34] Speaker B: Might be. Might not be. We'll.
[00:31:37] Speaker A: I don't.
[00:31:37] Speaker B: Whatever. And so with that, let's get into the hot three in your lungs. I'M the smoke in the sky I'm the gas in the tank Going to turn it up, turn it down Hot to the touch Burning up I'm hot Hot to the touch I'm hot to the touch Burning up, I'm hot I'm.
[00:31:56] Speaker C: Hot like fire, fire, fire, fire I'm.
[00:32:00] Speaker B: Hot like fire, fire, fire, fire I'm.
[00:32:04] Speaker C: Hot like fire, fire, fire, fire A.
[00:32:08] Speaker B: Heart like fire, fire, fire, fire all right, so this week for the hot three, we've got TV shows, guys.
[00:32:19] Speaker C: Oh, good one.
[00:32:20] Speaker A: Hot three TV shows.
[00:32:21] Speaker B: Hot three TV shows.
[00:32:23] Speaker A: All time favorites.
[00:32:24] Speaker B: All time favorites. I'm not talking about something that you, like, casually watch because we know there's good ones like that. And if you want to put them in there, you can. I'm not saying you can't, but, like, there's just different levels. Right. So, like, I hold, like, a show that's like a. Like a hardcore drama that, like, you're, like, super invested in. Different than, like, the Office, which I'm also equally invested in. But I could watch that just in the background.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: Game of Thrones would probably be okay. Like Everybody Loves Raymond.
[00:32:49] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Although Everybody Loves Raymond is also funny.
[00:32:53] Speaker A: It is funny.
[00:32:53] Speaker B: And you can watch it all the time.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: Syndication's great. I love reruns.
[00:32:57] Speaker B: But yeah, so that's kind of the distinction. And again, that doesn't mean if. If the Office is absolutely your favorite show of all time, by all means, put it in there. But I just think that there's. In my eyes, there's like, a difference.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Yeah, that's fair enough.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: So with that, we're going to start with Kenny.
[00:33:15] Speaker A: Oh, me.
[00:33:19] Speaker B: What are your Hot3 TV shows?
[00:33:21] Speaker A: I gotta go back to my Hot3 here.
[00:33:23] Speaker B: I wanna know.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: Number three might surprise some folks. I'm gonna go Schitt's Creek.
Schitt's Creek was absolute hilarity for me from beginning to end.
[00:33:37] Speaker B: That actually is a really good show.
[00:33:39] Speaker A: Some of the other shows that are in my list are a little more serious, but I'm a big comedy fan. I mean, Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Kathryn O'Hara and Annie Murphy was just the.
[00:33:50] Speaker B: Comedy in that show is so spot on.
[00:33:52] Speaker A: Annie Murphy is beautiful and super talented and was just like my favorite part of that show. Just everything that she did, just the E.U. david, like, it's just such a. Just a great character overall, but just, again, just like slobberknocker fun. Like, stupid fun. Beginning to end.
This was a hard to try and narrow down three.
[00:34:14] Speaker B: It was tough.
[00:34:14] Speaker A: I mean, it could have Been a lot of shows, but. But I'll throw Schitt's Creek in at number three.
[00:34:18] Speaker B: Number two.
[00:34:19] Speaker A: Number two.
And number two, I guess for me is I kind of have 1 and 2. It's almost like 1A and 1B. Because Breaking Bad I have in number two. Breaking Bad, I think is. Is maybe the highest rated series of all time. Like, if you look at IMDb and rotten tomatoes and these.
Not a bad episode in the whole series. Maybe the. Maybe the Fly High.
I think that was the lowest rated episode in the series and it still scored in the high sevens. Yeah.
I mean, every episode there was like, rated in the nines or better. Just such a.
Such a unique story.
[00:34:59] Speaker B: Just call people.
[00:35:02] Speaker A: And then you have the spin off with Better Call Saul too. So it kind of all adds to.
[00:35:06] Speaker B: This universe, which was different but good and also still felt like it was.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: In the same vein universe type of deal. It's just like the whole story.
[00:35:14] Speaker B: El Camino or whatever. The.
[00:35:16] Speaker A: Yeah, the spin off the movie.
Yeah. I mean, just again, the whole. The whole story there was just so good. And it's one of those. That really makes you almost question, like, your own moral judgment and thinking about things like, how far would you go for your family? Even if things were maybe illegal, how.
[00:35:40] Speaker B: Far would you go for. How far would you go for your family? And at what point do they get out of control?
[00:35:46] Speaker C: Right. Yeah.
[00:35:47] Speaker A: Like, at what point does the spiral start where you're just all of a sudden you're a drug lord?
[00:35:53] Speaker B: It's so good.
[00:35:55] Speaker A: So, yeah, Breaking Bad.
Brian Cranston in that. Just fantastic. I think, masterclass.
Who was it that Anthony Hopkins wrote him a letter and said that it was the absolute best acting that he's ever seen in anything, ever, ever. And like, Sir Anthony Hopkins is kind of big name.
[00:36:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: And then number one for me is always Dexter. God, I love Dexter.
[00:36:20] Speaker B: I already wrote it in for you.
[00:36:22] Speaker A: Dexter's my favorite of all time. Again, another one that just like, clouds your moral judgment. And I mean, you're almost.
You're kind of empathizing with a serial killer, essentially.
Kind of like you're like, he's the rooting interest in the show. You're like, I want him to, but.
[00:36:40] Speaker B: He'S fighting bad guys. Kind of.
[00:36:41] Speaker A: He is. I mean, he's vigilante justice. Right. So he's killing bad guys, you know, taking them off the streets.
[00:36:46] Speaker B: But what if you get an innocent?
[00:36:47] Speaker A: But again, it's like, what's that spiral, you know? Well, I mean, look, Dexter had a Code. He was pretty thorough in making sure that he didn't kill anybody. That was. Didn't deserve it. Didn't have it coming.
And just the fact that, like, he worked at the police department and I mean, you're kind of thinking, like, the.
[00:37:04] Speaker B: Most successful serial killers do you know.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: What a sneaky way.
You know, the only thing that I think is a downside to Dexter is like, the. The science behind, like, blood spatter. Like, if you start really looking into that, like, there's really. It's kind of like pseudoscience.
[00:37:19] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. It's been kind of like it doesn't really get used in cases anymore because.
[00:37:23] Speaker A: It'S not really a thing. Yeah, like, there's some.
[00:37:26] Speaker B: There's. It does get used a lot in cases nowadays, but a good lawyer will always be able to argue out of it because they're like, you're.
[00:37:33] Speaker A: Because it's really kind of pseudoscience. But, like. But in the show, it makes it so real because you got Dexter with all his strings and he's going through and, like, mapping out, like, where all. There was a lethal blow to the head here and, like, helping the police solve crimes and just like, thinking like a serial killer helps them catch serial killers. Just everything about it was good.
[00:37:55] Speaker B: I think you're absolutely as crazy as a serial killer, so I can see why this is your favorite show.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: Plus, to me, there's a lot of shows out there. Like, if you watch, like, Seinfeld, like, every, like, couple episodes, Seinfeld had, like, a new girl. Like, Dexter to me, had the best girlfriends.
Like, as the series went on, like every other girl.
[00:38:14] Speaker B: Only Kenny would judge a series by the girlfriends.
[00:38:17] Speaker A: No, I'm just saying they were like, they. Because you got to know it was deeper than Seinfeld, where he had a girl for three episodes, and then there's a new girl the next week. And you get to know these characters and they become integral to the storyline and just some fantastic acting all the way around. So Dexter is my number one of all time.
[00:38:35] Speaker B: Nice bone hot three.
[00:38:37] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:38:37] Speaker C: All right. Well, I have to narrow down some of my list.
I'm gonna go number three. True Detective, season one.
You broke it down to.
[00:38:50] Speaker B: I get what you're saying, because it's like an anthology series, so it's.
[00:38:53] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a complete wrap up within one season. So, like, through and through. One season of a show best, like, detective story story ever made in my eyes. It was just fantastic. Great, great acting. Woody Harrelson and old Matthew McConaughey love that it was. It was really good. Really good.
[00:39:13] Speaker B: That is a good show.
[00:39:16] Speaker C: Number two, I'm. Breaking Bad is in there as well. So I'll put Breaking Bad at number two. Could be number one. Kind of just echo everything Kenny already talked about. Just through and through as. What was it, like nine seasons? I don't know what it was.
[00:39:30] Speaker A: It was only five. Was it?
[00:39:32] Speaker C: Just five. Okay, perfect. But through and through.
[00:39:34] Speaker B: Those were long episodes.
[00:39:35] Speaker C: Through and through, yeah. As a series is. I watched it with my dad, like, just growing up. So it was like however many years it took to, like, watch it through. It's just like we waited the good old days, week to week to watch this, watch the show.
[00:39:47] Speaker B: So by the time you get to the end of the show, you forget the beginning.
[00:39:50] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. But I've went back and watched quite a few episodes and. Yeah, just. Just the best.
Number one. This may be a little wild card, I think, but Band of Brothers on hbo.
[00:40:02] Speaker A: Band of Brothers was good.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: I haven't seen that. So I've watched a lot of TV.
[00:40:07] Speaker C: Good. Follows Easy Company in World War II. And it just. Their story.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: Schwimmer. Yeah.
[00:40:12] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah. David Schwimmer. There's a lot of, like. A lot of just like random guys. Yeah, just random. Random people kind of show up throughout.
[00:40:20] Speaker B: The Bunch of Jags.
[00:40:21] Speaker A: Yeah, well, they're. But they're like big name Jags.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: Big name Jags. They're like David Schwimmer.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: They kind of play like small parts.
[00:40:26] Speaker B: Yeah, David Schwimmer.
[00:40:27] Speaker C: Jack character was really good. You hated him in it, but his character was really good.
But yeah, Banner Brothers. Just as World War II, just historical type of show. Spielberg, I'm pretty sure directed all that. And Tom Hanks was involved. Yeah, just really good.
[00:40:41] Speaker A: Really well done.
[00:40:42] Speaker C: They had a lot of the veterans do their. They kind of interviewed them, all the guys who this. This whole show is about. So they had them, like, at the.
[00:40:51] Speaker A: End that was that. One of the coolest parts was like the interviews with those guys, like, just kind of talk. Because it's like these were the real. These were the real guys. And then they're being portrayed on screen by nicknames.
[00:40:59] Speaker C: All their stories, all the nuances, all the things, and just the crazy things that happened during what they did. Oh, you would absolutely love it.
[00:41:08] Speaker A: So.
[00:41:09] Speaker C: So well done.
[00:41:10] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:41:11] Speaker C: Lieutenant Spears, man. Oh, my goodness. Just. That guy's unbelievable. So I don't think I've ever heard.
[00:41:17] Speaker B: Zach gush like this, Bone gush like this. So I'm gonna have to.
[00:41:20] Speaker A: Banner Brothers Is really, really good.
[00:41:22] Speaker C: Yeah, very good.
[00:41:23] Speaker B: I'm gonna have to watch that.
And so for me. Me for my hot three, number three. You guys have already talked about it. Breaking Bad made the Hot 3 for all of us.
So I'll skip over that one a little bit. It's been talked about enough. Number two, Boardwalk Empire.
Huge fan of this show specifically, I think. Kenny, I know you watch this. I think it was the first two seasons before his. Before one of the main characters was no longer there.
Yes, the whole series is good, but those first two seasons were unreal.
[00:41:55] Speaker A: I enjoyed the whole series thoroughly.
[00:41:57] Speaker B: Yeah, the only. The only thing that I didn't. And it wasn't that I didn't like it. I just think it didn't.
I don't think it was necessary to kind of made it a little weird to wrap things up was the time jump before the last season was like, you know, we follow everything they do, and then all of a sudden there's this time jump of several.
[00:42:15] Speaker A: They were trying to, like, stay consistent with, like, historical events.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I know, but. But, yeah, I mean, it wrapped up really well. There was a good ending. It was. It was just. It was good series.
[00:42:28] Speaker A: A lot of really good, like, huge A list actors, huge names that. Yeah. Phenomenal. Phenomenal.
[00:42:35] Speaker B: Steve Buscemi, I don't know. Has ever been better than that.
[00:42:37] Speaker A: No, no, because he plays. So I mean, he. That guy's range is actually incredible.
[00:42:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:42:41] Speaker A: For a guy that looks like. Looks kind of goofy and acts goofy in a lot of his roles.
[00:42:46] Speaker B: Well, I mean, you go from. From playing. Was he Nucky. What was his last name? Lucky.
[00:42:51] Speaker A: Thompson.
[00:42:52] Speaker B: Thompson. And in Boardwalk Empire to playing the guy on Indeed's Crazy Eyes. Crazy eyes on Deeds. Yeah, like, that's those. That's the same guy.
[00:43:04] Speaker C: Pepperoni and Oreo.
[00:43:10] Speaker B: And he plays the minor role in Big Daddy where he's like. He's like you in this conversation now. I'll get you a cheeseburger. And he's like.
[00:43:19] Speaker A: Look, he fell asleep and encounter.
[00:43:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, so.
[00:43:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:43:23] Speaker B: I mean, tremendous race. But all of those things, like I said, I don't think he's ever been better than Boardwalk Empire.
[00:43:28] Speaker A: Yeah, super good.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: And then finally, my number one on my hot three is Peaky Blinders.
Just a phenomenal show. And, you know, I really enjoy, like, a good period piece, like where, like, the costumes and everything that go along with it takes you to a whole different time.
And they, I think, nailed it down. All the sets, all of the Costum costumes.
They even kept in, like, they didn't water down some of the accents, you know, they. They kept them real thick, and you just kind of had to. Sometimes it was hard to understand Tom Hardy's character. You couldn't understand at all. You really had to pay attention. We had to turn subtitles on to know what Tom Hardy's character was saying.
I mean, just fantastic. And Thomas Shelby was always one step ahead of everybody. Yeah. If not two or three. So just a phenomenal show.
[00:44:20] Speaker A: Ultimate antagonist.
[00:44:21] Speaker B: Yeah, great. Great cast.
[00:44:23] Speaker A: Protagonist.
[00:44:23] Speaker B: Sorry, Protagonist.
[00:44:24] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, great show. Peaky was cool, too, because.
Because it was in Britain, you know, like. Like, we don't. There was. There's not, like, a lot of British history TV shows that we grew up with.
[00:44:38] Speaker B: Yeah, well, and now it's crazy, too, because now with Oppenheimer, like, obviously, like, Cillian Murphy's like a household name.
[00:44:48] Speaker A: Huge star.
[00:44:48] Speaker B: And he was a fairly big star before that.
[00:44:51] Speaker A: He's been in a lot of stuff. Like, you didn't realize how many things he was in.
[00:44:54] Speaker B: Right. That's what I was gonna say. He was a fairly big star before that. But I feel like Peaky Blinders took his career to a whole other level, and he is a. Another one is just a phenomenal actor.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:04] Speaker B: Like you. Whoever he's playing, you believe he is that person.
[00:45:07] Speaker A: Great performances.
[00:45:09] Speaker B: So, yeah, just great show all around.
But, yeah, those are my hot spots.
[00:45:14] Speaker A: You really got an aesthetic there between Peaky and Boardwalk. And I mean, the period piece thing.
[00:45:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I really enjoy when a show.
[00:45:21] Speaker A: Breaking Bad, it's kind of dark like that.
[00:45:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I just enjoy my top two, specifically, like I said, I enjoy when they take you to a different time and specifically, like a historical time. Like, maybe the story itself isn't true, but the time period and everything that was going on that all was actually happening and they reference historical events and things like that.
That's my kind of show.
[00:45:43] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Even down to him being down. Whatever. He got ordained with obe. Like the British officer and titles and things like.
Yeah, just very, very accurate of the culture at the time.
[00:45:55] Speaker B: Yep. So, guys, any honorable mentions that you had?
[00:45:58] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Honorable mentions.
[00:46:00] Speaker B: I have. I'll list off mine real quick. Rings of Power, which is a newer one. Fantastic. Game of Thrones. Both Game of Thrones. The Last Kingdom.
Yeah. Son of Uhtred, Vikings. Deadwood. Sons of Anarchy, Black Sails, Mad Men, Oz, the Wire, Sopranos.
[00:46:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:46:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Just so many good TV shows.
[00:46:19] Speaker C: Have either of you ever seen the show the Killing?
[00:46:22] Speaker B: No.
[00:46:22] Speaker C: Oh, it's a good show.
[00:46:23] Speaker A: Was that On Fox.
[00:46:25] Speaker C: I am. I'm unsure what's. It's on. I. I can't think of the actor. He was in Altered Carbon. He was in. I think he was in a season of House of Cards.
[00:46:36] Speaker B: House of Cards is on my list. It's a long show.
[00:46:39] Speaker C: Yeah, it is.
[00:46:40] Speaker A: But House of Cards got scooped.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: It was a good detective killing what's his face.
[00:46:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:46:46] Speaker C: He kind of ruined that with his weird activities.
[00:46:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:46:50] Speaker A: So many kids. Walking Dead.
[00:46:51] Speaker B: Walking Dead.
[00:46:52] Speaker A: Walking Dead. Especially like the, like the first whatever, seven seasons. I mean.
[00:46:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I need to go.
[00:46:57] Speaker C: I never finished it.
[00:46:59] Speaker B: I'll be honest. With Walking Dead, it just got to be so long that it was like a chore to keep up with it. So now that it's finally it's done right, like it's the. The original Walking Dead is done. I know there's all the spin offs, but the original Walking Dead. I want to go back and watch and enjoy and watch the whole thing. So.
[00:47:15] Speaker A: Yeah. My other honorable mention would be the Office. I can watch the Office all the time. So. Good. And just.
[00:47:22] Speaker B: It's just.
[00:47:22] Speaker A: You can't. You just couldn't make it. I know they're trying to like do a remake of it today somehow, but you couldn't make it that way.
[00:47:29] Speaker B: No. You get so sucked into that show too. Like to where it's so sneaky, you don't even know what's happening. And you watch like 15 episodes and then all of a sudden you're like, I watched so much. These characters and these characters are so great. Like they slowly build them all up. Like, I mean each character only has a few minutes of screen time per episode outside of like the top three and somehow you fall in love with all of them.
[00:47:52] Speaker A: It's funny too, like for the size show that it was when it started, especially even in the early seasons, the, the like high level like a list talent that kind of came through for like an episode.
[00:48:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Like I think Amy Adams was on a show. Jennifer Aniston made an appearance, like just like randomly got to know and then like Will Ferrell showed up later in the series. James Spader.
Spade is one of my favorite characters of all time in the Office.
[00:48:19] Speaker B: Yeah. And I mean even like Steve Carell, like honestly a couple things. One, when he first started that show, he was basically nobody.
[00:48:25] Speaker A: Yeah, he was.
[00:48:26] Speaker B: You could tell by the hair plugs.
[00:48:28] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh yeah. Their look, everybody on this. Christine and I were just talking about this. Everybody in the show from like seasons 1 and 2 to like seasons 4 and 5. Got exponentially better looking. Like, they all said the show started to make money and be successful.
[00:48:42] Speaker B: The show itself had better makeup artists and things like that.
[00:48:45] Speaker A: They brought like a Hollywood team.
[00:48:46] Speaker B: Steve Carel replace his hair.
[00:48:48] Speaker A: Because if you listen to those guys talk, like they filmed that whole series, like, and they like did the pilot and they were like, this probably isn't going to go anywhere.
[00:48:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:54] Speaker A: And then they called him back and.
[00:48:56] Speaker B: Then, well, Steve Carell, 40 year old virgin is what launched. It is. All of a sudden they were like, huge. Wait, this guy broke out with 40 year old virgin and he's on this show.
[00:49:04] Speaker A: And like, and the funny thing is, like, the show is bigger today, I think, even than when because of the streaming and everything. And like, everybody has watched it now.
[00:49:12] Speaker B: Well, and especially, like the younger generations are starting to get like their first office jobs. And they're like, oh, this is it. And that's it.
[00:49:18] Speaker A: And that's what's su. Endearing about it is like, it's, it's, it's, it's hyperbolic, but it is very reminiscent of like an office job. Like the stupid things that happen in an office and the way that you pass time and the relationships you form in order to just get through the day.
[00:49:36] Speaker B: Yeah, man. We spent as much time talking about the Office as we did all of these other shows. This should have just been your top three episodes of the Office, which we'll get to another time. But listen, that'll do it for hot three.
[00:49:47] Speaker A: Kenny, you know, it's time for probably an interview.
[00:49:50] Speaker B: Yeah, we're gonna do another interview. Something we started last year. We continued it this year. We're gonna continue it until we've interviewed every single Brownsback in existence. Wow. But the Brownsbackers groups, fantastic.
[00:50:03] Speaker A: That'll be huge.
[00:50:03] Speaker B: Browns.
[00:50:04] Speaker A: That'll be when the Burning river sportscast comes to an end.
[00:50:06] Speaker B: When. When we're out of Brown, when we.
[00:50:08] Speaker A: Hit all Brownsbackers, we hit all 400 locations of Brownsbackers.
[00:50:11] Speaker B: But yeah, Brownsbackers, fantastic. Huge Browns fans, rain or shine, they always show up. They're always doing things for their local communities, for charities both in Cleveland and in their local communities. So just want to highlight these guys, spotlight them.
[00:50:26] Speaker A: And they're just die hard fans and.
[00:50:28] Speaker B: They'Re just awesome to talk to most of the time. So occasionally you get one that's like, no, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. We love all the Brown speckers. I was just kidding. I was just kidding. But with that, let's go ahead and get into the next interview in the.
[00:50:39] Speaker A: Series powered by Riverside fm.
[00:50:52] Speaker B: All right, so for this brownsbackers interview, please help me welcome from way down in New Orleans, the president of the New Orleans Brownsbackers, Bobby.
Bobby, thank you so much for joining us. How are you today?
[00:51:06] Speaker D: Happy to be here. Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.
[00:51:08] Speaker B: Yeah, no problem. So tell us a little bit about your chapter down there. What do you guys got going on?
[00:51:14] Speaker D: Well, sir, chapter has been around for seven or eight years now.
We've got a small but loyal group that meets regularly. We've moved our bar a couple years ago from where we started. We're now at a bar called the Mid City Yacht Club, which is also conveniently the local home of the Ohio State fan club here in New Orleans.
[00:51:36] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:51:37] Speaker D: So they meet there on Saturdays, we're there on Sundays, and they draw a little bit bigger crowd than us. But the bar treats us well, and we're very happy to be with them, so.
[00:51:48] Speaker B: Absolutely. And so how many members are you up to right now? I know you said you're kind of a newer group. I mean, you guys kind of got started right around that time frame when Covid was just about to hit. So I know there was some struggles there, kind of all the way across the board with all these groups. Where are you guys at right now?
[00:52:05] Speaker D: Yeah, we had the club for probably 2016, I think is when it started, maybe even 15. But it did. It did kind of almost go defunct during COVID We have probably in the local area 20, maybe 25 people. You know how it goes. Not everyone shows up at the bar 17 weeks in a row, but people are in and out. We've got, again, a small but local group. The other good thing, because it's New Orleans, there is always, always tourists in town. Look us up on our Facebook page, come out and join us. And that boosts our numbers. We will have up to 50 on certain weeks, and we have less than that on a lot of weeks, too. But the tourists always come out, and a lot of them are die hards and love supporting us.
[00:52:50] Speaker B: Nice. And so, you know, even though you're a small group and you guys kind of did everything you could to hold it together during the COVID years. I'm sure you guys have probably worked with some charities. Is there any charities you want to shout out that you guys have been involved with?
[00:53:05] Speaker D: Yeah, the main one we've worked with is a Jefferson Paris Parish SPCA animal rescue organization. Dog Pound made sense with that. And we're trying to get back affiliated with them again. Hopefully That'll happen soon. Again, rebuilding after Covid, we're making strides and we're doing better this year than we were last year. So.
[00:53:29] Speaker B: No, that's awesome. I mean, you know, we, we hear we've, we've covered all sizes of brownsbackers groups. Big, small, everywhere in between and in these, these smaller ones kind of, you know, it took everything you had to hold it together during COVID are just as admirable and just as impactful in their communities as some of these bigger ones are one thing.
[00:53:48] Speaker A: There's different life cycles too, right? I mean, some of these groups have been around since before the brownsbackers were really officially the brownsbackers. And then you have some that have been created in the last few years, so just kind of different stages along the way. But yeah, hopefully you guys continue to grow.
[00:54:03] Speaker B: Yeah. And so Bobby, how did you become a Brown Browns fan?
[00:54:07] Speaker D: Well, so my dad was in the Air Force and he is from the Ashtabula area kind of outside of Cleveland. And I was born in Dayton but left that before I even remember and grew up in different places on military bases, mostly in South Carolina. But growing up on military bases, it's not unusual to be around sports fans from all different places. And honestly, I'm old enough. The Panthers were not in Charlotte at the time. I was living in South Carolina, so there wasn't a local team in particular that's also college football territory, as you can imagine. So I just always watched my dad's team with him.
And even moving to New Orleans, there was no. I moved here before Breeze got here. So when the Saints were still in the, in the doldrums. But even when Breeze got here and the team got good, I was never going to the Browns and Saints was never an option for me.
Twenty years later, I'm still rooting against the Saints most weeks.
[00:55:10] Speaker B: So kind of being being born into it but also being exposed to multiple other teams. At any point did you think to yourself, what the hell am I doing here?
[00:55:20] Speaker D: Yeah, there was a year. There was a year that we.
It was either the 1 and 1 in 15 year, the Owen 16 year, there was a game Sunday was New Year's Day and I was hungover and I was sitting there Sunday morning thinking, I don't want no one to be at the bar for the Browns club. So I went there. There was one other guy from our club who was there and the two of us sat there and watched the Browns lose again. Hung over On New Year's Day, I'm like, we should have been home watching the Rose bowl or something, but there was a moment like, why are we doing, doing this?
[00:55:57] Speaker A: That was the low point.
[00:55:58] Speaker B: Everybody, I feel like every Browns fan has had that moment. Like, you look at somebody even like the long, long time fans, like, have you had a moment like 1973?
[00:56:08] Speaker A: Like, well, the way this fan base is, it's almost like it's like an addiction. Right. It's like you hit rock bottom at some point. Every one of us has.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: If you're like the newer generation, you just hit rock bottom every two or three years, you know, so.
[00:56:23] Speaker D: And sometimes you get used to it. It's almost like I can laugh at the comedy, but I will say a couple years of Baker and then making the playoffs last year, I believed again and now it's starting hurting again when I become immune to it at one point. But, yeah, it hurts a little more than it used to.
[00:56:41] Speaker B: But don't worry, we all made that mistake.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: So is New Orleans home for you forever? You ever think about moving anywhere else? Sounds like you've been a lot of different places.
[00:56:51] Speaker D: Probably. I mean, I've been here for 20, 20 years. My folks still live in Charleston, South Carolina. And if the right opportunity ever came up, I would maybe move back there. But I'm not looking. And I'm pretty happy here again after 20 years.
This is my home now, I suppose.
[00:57:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I get that. I would not want to.
I hear stories of people who grew up with military families and I'm like, I don't know how you can do that.
[00:57:23] Speaker A: Moving around a lot.
[00:57:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
But no. So one question that I had for you that, you know, being in New Orleans, in the Superdome is hosting the super bowl this year. So you're. You're kind of going to get exposed to that even more. But do you think that, you know, obviously the Browns decided they're going with a dome, at least for now. We'll see what happens legally. But for now, they decided they were going with a dome. Do you think the super being able to host the super bowl had a big part to play in that?
[00:57:52] Speaker D: Maybe.
I assume the Haslams just want to have concerts there in the winter.
I mean, the super bowl might be part of it too, but the dome just makes it easier to run non football events. Like you can play football in the snow to an extent. You can't listen to Bruce Springsteen or you too in the snow the same way. And I hate moving a stadium out to the burbs, but I've only followed that story a little bit Being here in New Orleans. So I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs, but moving out to the burbs never seems like a good idea to me. But, you know, if people can get there. I don't know what public transit's like, but if the fans can get there, I guess it'll be okay. I'd rather see a stay downtown.
[00:58:39] Speaker A: When was the last super bowl in New Orleans? Was it the breeze year the Raven.
[00:58:44] Speaker D: Ravens Niners won when the lights went out with Beyonce?
That was the last one. I don't remember.
[00:58:51] Speaker B: Do you think the lights go out this year?
[00:58:53] Speaker D: No, I think. I think they'll get that under control. That's. That's not going to happen again. That was a black eye for a lot of people here.
I don't remember what year it was, but that was the one.
They were actually supposed to have it last year, but someone looked at the calendar and realized it was going to interfere with Mardi Gras and they decided that he needed to switch it to this year instead of 2020. So.
[00:59:16] Speaker A: Smart.
[00:59:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:59:18] Speaker A: Now, I was just curious. I mean, obviously you've been there and had a Super bowl in your town. Like, how crazy is it during that week?
[00:59:25] Speaker D: It gets pretty crazy. The ESPN sets up in the some parking lots in the French Quarter along the river, broadcast kind of all day long.
They have various fan events, that kind of thing. I went to super bowl in Jacksonville one year and it feels like New Orleans is a better setup for the super bowl than Jacksonville was.
Although that's the only time I've been somewhere besides New Orleans. I don't have a great frame of reference. I will say this. Taylor Swift came at the last week of October and that was every bit. Three days of. Taylor Swift was every bit as crazy as the Super Bowl.
[01:00:02] Speaker A: I can imagine.
[01:00:03] Speaker D: I think Marty Grass still number one and for crazy in New Orleans, though.
[01:00:08] Speaker B: I can only imagine.
But no.
Yeah. So, I mean, onto the football side of things here, though. What are your thoughts on this year's version of the Cleveland Browns? I mean, obviously we've been bad, but like, what. What do you think?
[01:00:22] Speaker A: What went wrong?
[01:00:23] Speaker B: Yeah, what went wrong? I mean, we. There was high expectations. So where do you think it all went wrong?
[01:00:28] Speaker D: I mean, Watson. Watson's a problem. I mean, the rest of this team is good enough. At least at the beginning of the season.
It was always going to be if the quarterback plays decent, this team could win some games. If the quarterback. Quarterback plays not, they're going to lose a lot. Quarterback play was worse than I anticipated even with that being said. The other thing is some of those games were close. Like the Raiders game was winnable.
A couple of those other games were. Were completely winnable if things broke a little different and then I don't know. But it's all the quarterback and the quarterback was bad.
[01:01:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean and it's kind of. Kenny's been saying basically since we got desean Watson that we shouldn't have got to Sean Watson. So I mean he's been caught and it wasn't all focused on off the field stuff. There was, you know, he's had something to do with it. But. But Kenny has said like I don't know that he's ever going to be the quarterback they think he is. And that turned out to be true. So.
And, and not. Not only that. Andrew Barry has now kind of signaled like this is probably the end for him. Like we're not. We're probably not having it back. They. You know how they do. They. They left the door open, but it's probably not happening.
[01:01:42] Speaker D: Yeah. I can't imagine they can realistically bring it back.
[01:01:46] Speaker B: And so do you. Do you think. You know, how do you think the Browns are going to fare the rest of the season with Jameis Winston filling in?
[01:01:54] Speaker D: The Athletic this week told me they think DTR is going to be playing at some point.
Winston. Winston.
We got two games of Winston and watching him in New Orleans for a few years, that's exactly how it goes. He looks great, throws for 5, 000 yards and then he looks terrible and throws four picks and you get both.
They were worse than I was expecting last week.
But yeah, again, that's the Winston experience. I don't at this point I don't see them winning a lot of games and maybe, maybe I hate to be one of those tanking for the draft kind of guys.
[01:02:28] Speaker B: It's.
[01:02:28] Speaker D: You only have. It's not baseball where the season is completely falling apart. Winning three more games will still be better than winning one more game. You know, I will feel better at the end of the year if they've got five wins rather than if they have three. But at the same time this might. They got to start thinking about a quarterback in the future. And none of the guys on the roster are that guy. In my opinion.
[01:02:52] Speaker B: No. And I think we could all agree theirs. They definitely don't have the quarterback of the future on the roster right now.
[01:02:56] Speaker D: And let's not trade for one right now either. Let Tom just do it the old fashioned way.
[01:03:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I see. I Don't even know where to go with that because we've tried it the old fashioned way about 100 times and missed every single time, so.
And I'm not saying that trading is the answer either. I'm just saying I don't. I don't even know where to start there, are you.
[01:03:18] Speaker A: So speaking of that, it's interesting segue into next year. Are you confident in this, this organization, this front office, Andrew Barry, Kevin Stefanski and picking the right guy going forward?
[01:03:32] Speaker D: Confident? No, but it seems like.
It seems like the trade for Watson came from above Barry's level. No one's going to say that. Seems like that's what happened. Barry otherwise, in my opinion, has mostly done a pretty good job. And Stefanski generally seems to know what he's doing as well. He gets some weird. He gets some weird hiccups now and then, especially towards the end of games, but that Colts game last year in particular, I felt like he really screwed that one up. But I don't think Stefanski is the problem. He's been here what, four years, won coach of the year twice.
I would. If the two of those guys are on their own free will and not unduly influenced by the powers that be, I think they can. I think they can do a decent job.
[01:04:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
The only thing I would say, I would push back a little bit on Andrew Barry specifically because, yes, you're correct on Stefanski. Stefanski has made some silly calls, but Stefanski is two out of four years coach of the year. So Andrew Berry, though, I mean, we've talked about it a lot in the last few weeks. Here is what draft picks can you point to that have actually really panned out for him. And really all we've got is Grant Delpit and J. Okay, you've got Cedric Tillman as a maybe at this point. He's had some good games, but not big enough sample size and same thing with the. Juan Jones played really well as rookie year. Came out this year, played really bad the first part of the year and then they moved him to left tackle and he seems to be adequate. Like he's not, not really playing super well, but he's not playing poorly either at left tackle. So I just, I think that the best thing that Andrew Berry does is move decimal points.
[01:05:19] Speaker A: He's a cap guy for sure.
[01:05:21] Speaker B: So.
[01:05:22] Speaker D: Which might be important in the next couple of years for this team to be able to figure out.
[01:05:28] Speaker A: That's.
[01:05:28] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a, that's a fair assessment. That's a fair assessment. So personnel Wise, specifically. I don't know if he's got it. But you are right. We need to move money around for sure.
[01:05:38] Speaker A: Is there a college quarterback that is the apple of your eye at this point? Anybody that you're interested, Interested in?
[01:05:46] Speaker D: No, I don't try. I mean, all these guys look, look beatable this year. I mean, there's not an Andrew Luck sitting there, I don't think.
I don't know. A lot of people around here are big. Arch Manning, but I guess he's probably not coming out in the draft this year. He's. He's probably a year or two away. I don't know. Yours wasn't good enough to make it at Ohio State. And what does that mean? Ohio State had good quarterbacks and they've had mediocre quarterbacks, both.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: I guess the only thing I'll say about that is Joey B. Technically wasn't good enough to make it at Ohio State either.
[01:06:20] Speaker D: So that's what I was about to say. Yeah, you're right, Joey B.
But Stroud is as good as anyone.
I don't know. There's not a quarterback I'm itching to see go to this team.
[01:06:35] Speaker B: And that goes back to my point about, like, do we take the chance in the draft because we've missed on everyone? So I guess with our luck, we're going to miss, I guess.
[01:06:42] Speaker A: That being said, do you. So then do you think the best plan is maybe to use like a Jamis or DTR as a bridge quarterback next year and continue to wait for a guy?
[01:06:52] Speaker D: Possibly. Let's see how the rest of the season goes and I'll have a better answer to that. If the rest of the season is a catastrophe, like, we just need to move on if they, if they tread water, like, yeah, sure, let's give it a chance.
[01:07:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
Okay, so let's focus on this week's game.
Obviously, you're in New Orleans, so are you hearing anything from the locals? Radio stations or local guys? Newspaper, if those exist anymore? Tv, any of those things, as far as how they're feeling about their team down there and what they think is going to happen in this weekend's game?
[01:07:27] Speaker D: I haven't listened to too much talk on this week's game yet. I mean, it's, it's Monday night, so we haven't had a lot of coverage. We're still wrapping up the. The game yesterday, which they.
Yeah, the Saints did win. Saints fans in general do not like this team. This team's got some cap issues. They're not identical to the Browns. But they've. They've been kicking the can down the road on the cap for a long time and they're in cap hell, you know, in some ways worse than we are.
And they're going to have to get worse before they get better. They also don't have a quarterback and everyone hates the quarterback. They do. So that's the, that's the take on this team right now. Not.
No one's thrilled, even though they beat Atlanta yesterday.
[01:08:16] Speaker B: Yeah. And so, I mean, with that being said and just what you've seen out of them, what you've seen out of the Browns, do you have a score prediction for this week's game?
[01:08:26] Speaker D: Low scoring, let's say 24 17. Browns.
[01:08:32] Speaker B: Oh, nice going, Browns.
[01:08:33] Speaker A: I'll take it.
[01:08:34] Speaker B: Going Browns.
Awesome. Well, listen, Bobby, it's been fantastic having you on. We really appreciate your time. We will be in New Orleans this weekend with true fan travel on our getaway and we will be stopping by at some point or another to come see you. So just, just get ready for that. All three of us are gonna, gonna come through and we may crash your party. We may already be inebriated when we get there, but we'll see. We'll see what happens. But we're gonna have a good time down there in New Orleans, so.
[01:09:04] Speaker D: All right. And our.
Our Browns Backers bash is going to be Saturday night at the Mid City Yacht Club is the bar. You can look it up. The information is on our Facebook page and like I said earlier, doubles as a Buckeyes bar. So if you want to get there at 11am and stay till 11pm you can do the Buckeyes game and then straight on into the Browns Backers bash.
Both happen at the same place and so love to have everyone. We're not selling tickets. Just show up. Come on down, Bobby.
[01:09:32] Speaker B: You may have talked to all three of us into it, so. But yeah, we'll. We'll make sure we put the flyer up as an overlay on. On the interview and get that information out there as well. You heard it from Bobby. Backers Bash at. Where is it, Bobby?
[01:09:45] Speaker D: The Mid City Yacht Club.
[01:09:47] Speaker B: Be there.
Bobby, thank you so much. We appreciate it.
[01:09:51] Speaker D: All right, thanks a lot, guys.
[01:09:52] Speaker A: Thanks.
[01:10:00] Speaker D: We're the New Orleans Browns Backers, and you're listening Burning River Sportscast. Go Browns.
[01:10:12] Speaker B: Good time talking to Bobby from the New Orleans Brownsbackers, huh?
[01:10:14] Speaker A: Bobby's a dog.
[01:10:17] Speaker B: Bobby Dog.
[01:10:20] Speaker A: Sounds like they had a pretty rough go during COVID So good on them being able to keep things together, which.
[01:10:25] Speaker B: And like I mentioned during that interview is, you know, these smaller organizations are just as important to helping grow the Browns fan organization and do these types of charity work in their communities as all these other big ones.
[01:10:40] Speaker A: I'm actually surprised like, and I know they haven't been around that long. I'm surprised there hasn't been a longer, bigger presence in a city like New Orleans just because it's a big city. So you have probably a lot of transient ex Clevelanders that work down there or whatever.
But look, it's a younger chapter and they're holding things together down there. Hopefully they'll continue to grow well.
[01:11:01] Speaker B: And that was the reason why I picked them is because of the I actually had talked to Bobby and I knew the COVID story and that's why I asked about it is because I just think that's so awesome. You know how these groups, they face adversity and he could have easily packed it in when he was, you know, the numbers were in the dirt.
[01:11:20] Speaker A: Volunteer, they're doing unit in there, what little spare time they have to try and put these events on and things. And I mean look, I mean the COVID the whole world was against us during COVID So you can't fault anybody for packing it in for something like that.
[01:11:35] Speaker B: And we all just stick it out for this team that shits on us year after year. So.
[01:11:39] Speaker A: Right. Just losing on purpose.
[01:11:40] Speaker B: It's what we do.
[01:11:42] Speaker A: That's right.
[01:11:43] Speaker B: But with that let's take a quick revenue break and then we're going to get back here and talk about the Week 11 matchup with this. Well I bit my the Saints. I bit my tongue with the Saints.
[01:11:53] Speaker A: Saints.

[01:12:46] Speaker A: Oh boy.
[01:12:47] Speaker B: It's this week. It's happening.
[01:12:49] Speaker A: It's finally here.
[01:12:50] Speaker C: It's time.
[01:12:50] Speaker B: Burning River Sportscast helps the dog pound take over New Orleans and we leave Friday.
[01:12:56] Speaker A: This felt like it was so far into the future.
[01:13:00] Speaker B: It's not.
[01:13:00] Speaker A: It's here that I can't even believe it.
[01:13:02] Speaker B: It's here. It's this week.
[01:13:03] Speaker A: We're going to New Orleans this Friday. Nolens, Nolan's.
[01:13:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
Bone. How excited are you call that?
[01:13:11] Speaker C: I'm pumped. I can't wait.
[01:13:12] Speaker B: I just want to hear.
[01:13:13] Speaker A: Just.
[01:13:13] Speaker B: I'm going to let you talk for a minute. Let me, let me. Let me know how excited you are.
[01:13:18] Speaker C: It's going to be a great time. We're all going to hang out. We're going to be with other Browns fans down there, and we're going to get a lot of free time in New Orleans, you know, doing our own thing, which I'm excited about, you know, walking around the French Quarter and just seeing. Seeing the sights.
[01:13:29] Speaker B: Hell yes.
[01:13:29] Speaker A: Like a mini vacation.
[01:13:31] Speaker B: I actually think this is the best part about true fan travel that we. We probably didn't talk about enough throughout the season is they do a really good job of packing a bunch of events in there, but also giving you a lot of free time to explore the city.
[01:13:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:13:42] Speaker B: So we're going to be there Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We have all Monday morning. We have Sunday after the game. After the game's over, you got nothing.
You have all day, basically, Saturday, all Saturday during the day, but there's still a big party that night.
And then Friday, Friday is really the only day we don't have much time because we get in and we have a riverboat cruise and even then we.
[01:14:05] Speaker A: Have a couple hours till the cruise, so.
[01:14:07] Speaker B: True, true. So, I mean, yeah, it's just. I think they did a really good job of giving you enough events to feel like you got your money's worth.
[01:14:16] Speaker A: Also, just brilliant job in planning these. I mean, New Orleans is such a great destination for Northeast Ohio residents to be able to travel.
[01:14:27] Speaker B: Ohio. That's the word you were saying, somewhere.
[01:14:29] Speaker A: Warmer where it's nice in November when the weather is just getting shitty here.
[01:14:33] Speaker C: I think we're looking at high 70s, 70s, 80s.
[01:14:35] Speaker B: It's gonna be, I think, the first two days, I think, or I think bookends. I think it's like high 70s, low 70s, low 70s, high 70s.
[01:14:43] Speaker A: Yeah, it's gonna be great.
[01:14:45] Speaker B: So, yeah, gonna be a great.
[01:14:47] Speaker A: Check out the French Quarter, get some beignets, some beads.
[01:14:50] Speaker C: And there's still Dumond.
[01:14:52] Speaker B: Hell yes. Hell yes. Bowen's already speaking French and there is still a few seats left for the optional round trip, charter, private charter flight. So make sure you get those. I think they close those, they'll probably be sold out by them. But I think the final Ticket sales are Thursday for those. It's going to be dope.
[01:15:14] Speaker A: Plane full of Browns fans.
[01:15:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Going to be a hell of a time. And Christian Kirksey and Kevin Mack and.
[01:15:20] Speaker A: The Bernie river sports cast and Bridget Linton and everybody.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: And it's going to be a party.
[01:15:23] Speaker A: And Vince and the burning rich sports guest.
[01:15:26] Speaker B: Yeah, and the Burning sports.
[01:15:27] Speaker A: You forgot the main draw.
[01:15:28] Speaker B: Well, yeah, it's the only reason anybody's going to this thing. Let's be honest. The Brown suck. But we'll be there.
[01:15:32] Speaker A: We'll be there.
[01:15:35] Speaker B: But yeah, it's going to be a great time. I can't wait, guys. Going to eat so many bone. I mean, beignets.
[01:15:41] Speaker A: Cover him in powdered sugar. Lick them all night long.
[01:15:46] Speaker B: Bones. Wife is just getting so excited.
[01:15:48] Speaker C: Are we all in the same hotel room?
[01:15:51] Speaker B: We probably shouldn't be. Probably shouldn't be.
[01:15:53] Speaker A: It's going to be like that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer puts a butterfly on himself and Newman wants to eat him.
[01:15:57] Speaker C: Weird.
[01:15:58] Speaker B: Have you guys seen.
Have you guys seen Deadpool 2 yet? Or Deadpool 3? 4? What are we on? Deadpool? The latest Deadpool.
[01:16:07] Speaker C: I don't think I'll ever see it.
[01:16:08] Speaker B: I know. I know Kenny hasn't. So I just. I put the quote in there.
You know how long I've been waiting for this?
[01:16:15] Speaker A: Whoo.
[01:16:15] Speaker B: I'm about to make a name for myself. Here is what he says in the. In the movie.
I had to put it in there because he's from New Orleans.
[01:16:23] Speaker A: I have no idea what you're talking about.
[01:16:24] Speaker B: Gambit. This is a gambit question. Well, you guys don't know.
[01:16:26] Speaker A: I don't know what a gambit is.
[01:16:28] Speaker C: The one who throws the cards.
[01:16:29] Speaker A: It's all the queens.
[01:16:30] Speaker B: Yeah, he's the one that throws the cards. Channing Tatum. He's in that movie.
[01:16:33] Speaker A: Queen Scammet Chess.
[01:16:35] Speaker B: Yeah, that's good. Good show. It got your favorite in it. You love her.
[01:16:38] Speaker C: Part of the.
[01:16:38] Speaker A: Well, I got Mandela effects on her name, though.
[01:16:41] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
But anyways, let's get into the Week 11 preview, brought to you by True Fan Travel.
All right, guys, week we're going to be there. We've got the New Orleans Saints in person.
And so do you know what it's time for? Kenny Live.
Yeah, we will be there live. But do you know what it's time for right now? Kenny Raw Action. No, it's time for Kenny's Cliff Notes.
[01:17:15] Speaker A: Oh, when the Saints Come Marching In.
Oh, that's close. Notice time.
All right, I'll give you some Cliff Notes.
Saints Cliff Notes.
[01:17:29] Speaker B: Hold on. Let's take a second here. I. Do you like. Do you like your Cliffs Notes that I designed for you?
[01:17:34] Speaker A: Yeah, that came out good.
[01:17:35] Speaker C: You want me to run it back?
[01:17:36] Speaker B: Yeah, run it back, Bone.
[01:17:38] Speaker C: All right, here we go. Watch this.
[01:17:40] Speaker B: See, that's the. See that?
[01:17:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that's pretty good.
[01:17:43] Speaker B: Yeah, you're welcome. Your face is on there too.
[01:17:45] Speaker A: Good. You get trademarked by that brown film.
[01:17:47] Speaker B: You were much, much smaller at that point. Your head was a lot smaller.
[01:17:52] Speaker A: I wasn't that much smaller. Are we gonna get trademark infringement on that brown helmet?
[01:17:58] Speaker B: I don't know.
[01:17:59] Speaker A: Might take that off.
[01:18:00] Speaker B: We'll have to ask for forgiveness.
[01:18:01] Speaker A: Jenny's Cliff Notes.
Saints Cliff Notes.
After a seven game skid, Dennis Allen was fired.
[01:18:09] Speaker B: You fired?
[01:18:11] Speaker A: As the head coach of the Saints and replaced with interim Darren Rizzi, who has held several posts with the Saints and Dolphins in addition to several college coaches.
[01:18:21] Speaker B: Dude.
[01:18:21] Speaker A: So Rizzed up the Davis first NFL game of his career as a head coach. He clogged the toilet and thought to himself it's going to be a crappy day. That is a direct quote. I did not make that up.
That was last week before the game.
The offense, led by Derek Carr, somewhere between starter and journeyman at this point in his career, has had stretches of really good football, but has been doomed by some really bad front offices, poor contracts and shoddy personnel moves. Alvin Kamara, who became the Saints all time leading rusher last week, can be a handful. He has great speed in his weapon, catching passes out of the backfield. Currently sits seventh in rush yards and eighth in touchdowns. Their leading receiver is also Alvin Kamara, the newest addition to the wide receiver room. Marcus Valdez. Scantling made an immediate impact in catching three balls for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in Chris Alave's absence. Going to the IR this week, concussion.
So he had a big day. But their other top option, Rashid Shaheed all will miss the rest of the season due to surgery on his meniscus. Feels bad the rest of their receiving quarters frankly. Booty cheeks. But they do get their tight ends involved at a pretty high clip.
[01:19:35] Speaker B: Booty cheeks, tight ends and high nevermind.
[01:19:39] Speaker A: Juwan Johnson, Foster, Moreau and long standing utility guy, backup quarterback, tight end and short yardage back Taysom Hill. He loves the trickery. The over under on the Browns being tricked by Taysom Hill on Sundays. Two and a half.
[01:19:51] Speaker B: Two and a half times they'll be tricked.
[01:19:52] Speaker A: At least that's the over under. It's going to be more or less.
[01:19:55] Speaker B: More.
I'm taking the over.
[01:19:57] Speaker A: Saints offensive line was ranked dead last in the league last year, was rebuilt for 2024, and has been an ascending unit bolstered by some really strong performances in the early weeks of this season. The Saints defense is one big gay orgy. Just kidding. But they do have a dude named Willie Gay and a dude named Anthony Org. And they play the same position, so they stay next to each other quite frequently. And there's at least one gay orgy per game. Yes, I am 12 years old.
[01:20:24] Speaker B: Despite being the 28th ranked defense, the show writes itself.
[01:20:30] Speaker A: Despite being ranked the 28th, the best defense or the 28th ranked defense this season, they do have playmakers at all three levels, including Cam Jordan, Carl Granderson and Chase Young as bash rushers.
Ronnie's still in a big gay. Demar Davis is their leading tackler and Tyrone Matthew, who was a perennial stud in the secondary, the Honey Badger. Honey Badger. They have also added the coolest name in football in second round, defensive back Kool Aid McKinstry this year, who has three past defenses on the season.
[01:21:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[01:21:01] Speaker A: All right. This is second coolest next to gay Orgy. But that's an ensemble, so doesn't count. Doesn't count. Of note, they are one playmaker short going forward because they did lose one of their most productive defensive players and Marshawn Lattimore in a trade to the Commanders at the deadline. And that, my friends, is Kenny's Cliff Notes.
[01:21:21] Speaker B: Well done, sir.
[01:21:22] Speaker A: You're welcome.
[01:21:23] Speaker B: I don't respect you very often. This is about as close as it gets.
[01:21:28] Speaker A: Like the gay orgy joke.
[01:21:30] Speaker B: Yeah, that was solid.
But do you know what that takes us to?
[01:21:38] Speaker A: Is it Ronnie Jams matchups that matter?
[01:21:40] Speaker B: It is Ronnie Jams matchups Ronnie Jams.
[01:21:43] Speaker A: Match Ronnie Jam's matchups that matter.
[01:21:59] Speaker C: Oh, would you look at that.
[01:22:00] Speaker B: Ah, look at that. Yeah.
All right, so the matchups that matter this week, I got two of them for you because that's how many I give you. And Ronnie James matchups are better.
Number one, Derek Carr versus the Browns secondary. I put this in here because as you mentioned, Derek Carr has had some good day good games. He's had some bad games. Most likely he's going to have a good game this week.
But the Saints wide receivers that are currently healthy, Marquez Valdez, scant scantling. That's a mouthful.
MVS, Jermaine Jackson. No, not that Jermaine Jackson.
Kevin Austin, Jr. Mason Tipton and Dante Bettis. Those are his receivers.
And so I meant Alvin Kamara is the leading receiver. Yeah, I think, I think, I think you so eloquently called them booty cheeks.
And so I'm, I'm right there with you. They had a solid, solid room with you, you know, when you count Chris Olave and some of these other guys. But a bunch of guys went to ir, so, yeah. If the Brown secondary can't get it done against this group, literally the only guy you got to shut down is Marquez Valdez Scantling, who literally wasn't with.
[01:23:14] Speaker A: The team two weeks ago.
[01:23:16] Speaker B: Right. It's the only guy you got to shut down out of the wide receivers. So if you can't do it, he's.
[01:23:20] Speaker C: Also been average at best with every other team he's ever played.
[01:23:23] Speaker A: True.
[01:23:23] Speaker B: Right. So if the secondary camp feast this week, then it is officially busted and we need to start thinking about who to go after in the off season and who to get rid of as soon as possible.
[01:23:33] Speaker A: If we can't stop him this week, then we are booty cheeks.
[01:23:35] Speaker B: Yeah, we are officially booty cheeks.
So. Yeah. So number one was Derek Carvers, the Brown secondary. Number two, Nick Chubb versus the Saints front seven. I know Nick Chubb still early off his injury, a major, major injury. But now he's had the bye week. He's had some time to gel with the team. He's had some time to get some conditioning under his belt, start getting in a better game shape. He's taken some hits, recovered from the pain of those hits. I know that's probably something that doesn't get talked about a lot, but I mean, that goes with game shape. Right? Is your. Your body feels like it got hit by a truck every week, and he's starting to get used to that as best he can.
But to be successful, what does the team have to do?
[01:24:18] Speaker A: Kenny probably have to play really good defense and run the football.
[01:24:22] Speaker B: Yeah, those are the.
[01:24:22] Speaker A: Run the damn ball, Kevin.
[01:24:24] Speaker B: Yeah, those are the two things that you have to do. Well, to this point in the season, the Browns haven't been able to run the ball at all. They've had a few. A few weeks with Chubb back, like I said, hopefully all of those things can come together and he could take another leap forward here. And then we also have to take into consideration he's probably trying out for next year too. Is he. Are we going to bring him back? Is he in the future plans or are they going to move on from him and go in a different direction?
[01:24:46] Speaker A: I mean, if he is in the future plan, they may be looking to Limit his role, to be honest.
[01:24:50] Speaker B: Fair. So either way, reason to watch Nick Chubb and what he's able to do against this front.
[01:24:55] Speaker A: I just love Nick Chubb.
[01:24:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I love Nick Chubb. I hope he has a breakout game. Finally. I say finally. It's only been a couple of games, but you feel like every game with Nick Chubb should be like had a.
[01:25:03] Speaker A: Vintage Nick Chubb just to let everybody know it's still in there.
[01:25:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:25:06] Speaker A: And then you can shut him down for the season.
[01:25:07] Speaker C: That'd be a blast. And to be. And to be at that game.
[01:25:10] Speaker A: Yes, I am excited to watch he.
[01:25:12] Speaker C: Bust like a 40 yard run or something or whatever it is.
[01:25:15] Speaker A: It's been a minute since I actually saw Nick Chubb in person run.
[01:25:17] Speaker B: The last time I saw is his first game back and he just wasn't the same Nick Chubb. But he did get a touchdown. It was awesome. True. And so in summary here as a team, The Saints are 3 and 7 coming off a 20 to 17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Look, this team ranks in the bottom seven of just about every defensive statistic that there is.
And so, you know.
Not good. No, not good.
If there was a week to capitalize, this is probably the week.
[01:25:49] Speaker A: It's funny you say that because like I went through actually when I was doing the Cliff's notes and I was looking for one that like I was like, maybe they're good at red zone defense. Like they are between 25 and 32 and basically everything.
[01:25:59] Speaker B: Everything, literally everything. And so on the flip side of the ball, they, their offense ranks right in the middle of the pack in just about everything. Like right between like 15 and 19.
And so it's a below average football team. But then again, so are the Browns below average. Let's be honest. The Browns are below average.
And also so for The Browns though, 2 and 7 record coming off thereby that allowed us all to kind of collect our thoughts, mentally prepare ourselves for the rest of the season, just hopefully sit in meditation on Sunday and not be bothered by what is the Browns.
[01:26:45] Speaker A: We were, we were not burdened by what has been.
[01:26:49] Speaker B: No.
Yeah. I mean, let me seriously though, let me, let me tell you, this was, this was like the most relaxing.
It was just the most needed by week, I think by fans maybe ever. Like, I know the 1 in 31 was long, but like this team was supposed to be good. So the frustration that comes with that and the mental just train wreck that you've been on this entire season. Yeah, it's been awful.
[01:27:18] Speaker A: Again, you go back to 1 and 31. At least they were honest with us. They told us what they were doing. They said, we're bringing this thing down to the studs. We're collecting draft capital. Like this is a rebuild. This team was supposed to be a playoff team.
[01:27:31] Speaker B: They're supposed to be good and they're not.
And so, yeah, I mean, and there's talent everywhere, but we're just not good.
And so the Browns, they rank in the middle of the pack, just about every defensive category besides third down percentage, we're third against, third down. That's pretty good.
And we rank in the bottom five of just about every category on offense. So remember I said the Saints rank in the bottom seven of every category on defense. The Browns rank in the bottom five of every category on offense, including third down conversions at dead last.
[01:28:03] Speaker A: Strength versus strength.
[01:28:05] Speaker B: So, no, actually, what I'm telling you is advantage New Orleans.
[01:28:11] Speaker A: I thought you were saying this, who is the best of the bad?
[01:28:14] Speaker B: No, I mean, that is, that's what it comes down to. But I'm just saying in that bottom seven versus bottom five, advantage, New Orleans. So, yeah, same evaluation as the Saints. Below average football team at best. This is going to be a good one, guys.
Are you excited? Anybody excited?
[01:28:31] Speaker C: I'm excited.
[01:28:31] Speaker A: I'm excited to be there.
[01:28:32] Speaker B: I'm excited to be there. Kenny, what's the betting info for this game?
[01:28:35] Speaker A: I'm just happy to be here.
Saints my minus one half favorite over under, set at 44 and a half.
[01:28:45] Speaker B: 44 and a half. I'll take the under. I'm not giving betting advice, so that's just what I'm.
[01:28:50] Speaker A: No, we don't give a betting advice. We're not affiliated.
[01:28:52] Speaker B: No, not affiliated. So listen, this is usually where the injury report would go in.
We're not going to do that this week. We're giving it up, guys. We're not going to bring you the injury report anymore because we realized that it was outdated information.
We record on Monday nights. It's no secret. We've said it before in our show.
[01:29:08] Speaker A: It wasn't even outdated. It wasn't even available.
[01:29:09] Speaker B: Yeah, we've said it before in our show. We were record on Monday nights. It's actually a good setup. We watch Monday Night Football. We record a show. It's fantastic. But anyways, the first official injury report of the week doesn't come out till Wednesdays. So we're. I'll be honest, we're kind of just guessing at a lot of these things and who's going to be healthy and who's not? So we don't want to do that anymore. It's just a waste of your time. It's a waste of ours.
[01:29:30] Speaker A: Agreed.
[01:29:31] Speaker B: Let's not do it.
[01:29:32] Speaker A: Let's not waste anyone's time.
[01:29:34] Speaker B: Maybe if we go to Thursday live shows one day.
[01:29:36] Speaker A: Well, yeah, if we had an extra injury report.
[01:29:39] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
But with that, let's go ahead and get into our players to watch. Kenny, we're not going to start with you. We're going to start with me. My player to watch this week is Mohammed Diabati.
Yeah. So I know Bone had him as his player to watch last week, and he actually didn't have a very good game last week.
So he's been up and down this season since he started getting more snaps. I think he's had like three or four games now that he's gotten elevated snap numbers, snaps, and it just swung back and forth like he's had a game with like 10 tackles and he's had a game with two, and then he's had another game with nine, and now we'll see what happens. So if the Browns are going to win, number one thing is they got to stop the run. You mentioned Alva Camara. He's probably the lone bright spot on their offense, I would say.
And so I just. I just need to see, you know, obviously J. Okay. Is out again. We did get Jordan Hicks back, so that's good. At least he was at practice on Monday.
And so, you know, Muhammad Diabody is still going to get a lot of snaps, but we just need to see if he's going to step up and help stop that run to give the Browns a chance snaps. So any volunteers? Kenny, Bone. Bone, Kenny.
[01:30:50] Speaker A: I can go.
[01:30:51] Speaker B: Kenny.
[01:30:52] Speaker A: My player to watch this week is fresh off of heavy trade rumors. David Joku.
Interested to see how he shows up this week, being that he was at the center of so much discussion during the trade week, during the bye week, just because it's one of those things that I think can take a mental toll on a guy. You feel unwanted. You feel like maybe your future is not here. And for this guy's whole life, basically since he got into the NFL, he's known nothing but Cleveland Browns.
[01:31:20] Speaker B: And to his credit, he's embraced the.
[01:31:22] Speaker A: Cleveland Browns and he has.
[01:31:24] Speaker B: There was that little. That little stretch early on when he demanded a trade. For a second, he felt unwanted. But basically since that moment, he's come back and even when he retracted his trade demand, he's my bad guys.
[01:31:39] Speaker A: And who did we sign that Year there was just an absolute busted tight end.
[01:31:44] Speaker C: God, Austin Hooper.
[01:31:46] Speaker B: Austin Hooper.
[01:31:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
Anyway, looking at David and Joku coming off the trade. Trade talks, I also think that Jamis is kind of coming back home. You know, Superdome is a place where he might feel comfortable.
[01:31:59] Speaker B: I have a feeling I know where Bones going with his player to watch.
[01:32:02] Speaker A: I feel like, you know, that could be a connection that could be formidable for them during this. During this game. So I think getting David and Joku the ball early and often would be one way to win. I think they're going to have to score. I think you. I think you can outscore this team and demoralize them. I think if you score 25, 20, 28 points, and you do it before the end of the third quarter, like, they'll just lay down in the fourth quarter just because they're a bad football team. So then David and Joker is one of those guys that can absolutely change the game by himself.
[01:32:34] Speaker B: Yeah, Bone, who you got?
[01:32:37] Speaker C: All right, we already kind of talked about it, but I'm gonna go. Nick Chubb. Oh, I want to see some. I want to see some solid play action this week with Jamis. Kenny just brought him up, and I think Nick Chubb will be big part of that, so. Yeah, solid. Solid game from Nick Chubb. Set up the play action, and let's put some points on the board.
[01:32:55] Speaker B: I'm changing mine, Jameis Winston, just because I feel like we need to watch him since he's playing his former team.
Eat a dub, guys. Time. Let's get gassed up.
[01:33:05] Speaker A: Gassed up.
All right.
[01:33:13] Speaker B: It's that time again. What time? It's time to talk about what's getting us gassed up. Is there anything that you guys are excited or angry about right now? We'll start with.
We'll start with Bone.
All right, let's get you gassed up.
[01:33:27] Speaker C: I didn't have one, but then I thought. I thought about something today, and I'm gonna go back to driving stuff because it's kind of easy to get into it, but.
[01:33:34] Speaker B: Bone, do you suffer from road rage?
[01:33:36] Speaker C: I don't, actually. I'm quite calm.
[01:33:38] Speaker B: You actually are.
Dad drove us all the way down to Florida one time. That's true. And back and back, and he was. Was. He was so pleasant the whole time. He was just like.
[01:33:49] Speaker C: Except when we were, like, stuck in, like, Miami or. Yeah, Miami traffic. And I was, like. Didn't know what to do.
[01:33:54] Speaker A: I was panicking on that rainstorm, too. Yeah, almost there.
[01:33:58] Speaker C: But, no, it was good. It was good. But all right, so getting onto the highway and you're behind somebody and they don't hit highway speeds by the time.
[01:34:08] Speaker B: Oh, my God. It's the worst.
[01:34:10] Speaker C: I think it's dangerous as hell. It is dangerous, as a matter of fact. And I'm behind this Porsche Cayman today on. I'm getting on an on ramp on a 77. And there's literally.
[01:34:20] Speaker B: That guy would be the first one to tell you that it's Porsche por there you.
[01:34:23] Speaker C: I don't know, whatever. Yeah, probably. And it ended up being a younger guy too. I expect an older person. It was just some young guy on his phone. And that made me mad.
We got on the highway at 65. We got on the highway at 55. And I'm not trying to get on 77 south in the middle of, like, green going 55 miles an hour. Luckily, there was not a lot of traffic. But if you're hitting the highway at rush hour.
[01:34:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[01:34:48] Speaker C: And you need to merge onto the highway. You need to be going highway speeds. You're screwing trucks, you're screwing people that you're merging into the lane. And it's dangerous for you to do as is because it's hard to merge when you're going slower than the rest of it.
[01:35:00] Speaker A: Get into that situation of like, how far do you slow down to just get into traffic?
[01:35:04] Speaker C: Exactly.
[01:35:05] Speaker A: You're almost hitting your brakes.
[01:35:06] Speaker C: Everybody's hitting their brakes. Slamming on their brakes.
[01:35:08] Speaker B: You know, I think this whole. You guys remember the speed kills campaign, like, everything was like, ah, speed.
[01:35:13] Speaker A: Those guys.
[01:35:14] Speaker B: I think that actually, like, ruined a lot of drivers because maybe speed does not kill. It's actually there are all kinds of studies. If you go slightly over the speed limit, it's much safer than going slightly under the speed limit.
[01:35:27] Speaker A: Well, that's why the expressway is so popular and is safe. The expressway is safer than anywhere else because everybody's moving the same direction quickly.
[01:35:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. So I just. Yeah, yeah. It's crazy.
[01:35:37] Speaker C: It just made me mad because this young dude on the phone. There is plenty of room to hit highway speeds. I'm talking like three quarters of a mile. This is how long this on ramp is to get to speed. And he just wouldn't do it.
[01:35:49] Speaker A: That's obnoxious.
[01:35:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:35:51] Speaker B: At least do one or the other. Either get off your phone or hit highway speed.
[01:35:56] Speaker C: It's frustrating.
[01:35:58] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I don't know. That's. That's a bad job out of him. Kenny, what's getting you gassed up?
[01:36:06] Speaker A: Okay, guys, I'm gassed up.
I'LL tell you why.
Sally Field.
[01:36:13] Speaker C: The actress?
[01:36:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
This last week was her birthday. She turned 78 this week.
[01:36:20] Speaker C: It's pretty old.
[01:36:26] Speaker A: It's not where I was going, but.
[01:36:29] Speaker B: Buy her a coffin.
[01:36:32] Speaker A: He's thoughtful.
Look, I've always had a thing for Sally Field, like as an older woman crush.
[01:36:39] Speaker B: Because she was Sally Field or Sally Fields. Sally.
[01:36:43] Speaker A: Sally Field.
[01:36:44] Speaker B: Singular.
[01:36:45] Speaker A: Sally, Plural. Yeah. I want to find out.
[01:36:47] Speaker B: I like, but she was always like.
[01:36:48] Speaker A: The mom, like, or like the grandma, like. Everything that, like, I've ever seen, like modern Cinema started like Mrs. Doubtfire.
[01:36:56] Speaker B: Just one Field?
[01:36:56] Speaker A: Yeah, just one Field. Sally Field. So I said, she's getting me gassed up.
Starting with, like, Ms. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, I think she was like in ER, brothers and sisters. Like, she was like the mom, like the matriarch of the family and like a lot of those shows.
[01:37:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:37:10] Speaker A: I've only ever really known older Sally Field.
This week I was introduced to young Sally Field.
[01:37:18] Speaker B: Oh, boy. What'd you watch?
[01:37:20] Speaker A: I didn't watch anything. I just. I started seeing all these, like, it's her birthday and they were celebrating Sally Field and her life of achievement in cinema and things. And I'm looking at these pictures and I was like, holy shit. Sally Field, like, was smoke show.
Like, absolute smoke.
[01:37:38] Speaker B: I said I was wife. You better watch out if you get your hands on a time machine.
[01:37:44] Speaker A: I was gassed up this week by my new celebrity crush, which is young Sally Field. Just absolute stunner.
Incredible.
[01:37:54] Speaker C: Going back in time.
[01:37:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:37:56] Speaker A: I had no idea that she was like, you're like, sex, pot.
[01:38:01] Speaker B: Sex pot is one of the funniest words in all of. All of the English language.
All right.
You're just watching, watching the news and you're like, sally Field. I like her.
[01:38:14] Speaker A: Well, like, I saw.
[01:38:15] Speaker B: I really like Sally Field.
[01:38:16] Speaker A: I was like, who is that? Like, that's a nice looking girl. And then they're like, she's 78. And I was like, wow, she looks good for 78.
[01:38:26] Speaker B: There you have it. Kenny. Is Kenny Thunder?
[01:38:29] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, like I said, I always had like a, like an old lady crush on her. Like, I always thought she was a nice looking older lady.
[01:38:34] Speaker B: I'm gonna see if I can get Sally Field on the show.
[01:38:35] Speaker A: But now that I've seen young Sally Field, like, now it's like a borderline obsession.
[01:38:39] Speaker B: I want to see if I can get Sally Field on the show.
[01:38:41] Speaker A: I'm bring her on.
[01:38:42] Speaker B: If I get Sally on the field. Sally Field.
[01:38:44] Speaker A: If I get Sally on the field. Wow. That's a Good turn.
[01:38:47] Speaker B: If I get Sally Field on. On the show, Kenny. Kenny will die a happy man.
[01:38:51] Speaker A: I will tell her to her face that she's a smoke show.
[01:38:54] Speaker B: I'm in. I got my life's mission now, guys. What's getting me gassed up? Were you done with Sally?
[01:39:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm done. I'll never. I'll never be done with Sally Field, but I'm.
[01:39:05] Speaker B: You know, you're always gassed up about it. It's like a constant gassed up. Like you're. You're constantly.
[01:39:10] Speaker A: Makes your heart pitter patter a little bit. Yeah. Yeah, it's nice looking. Nice looking lady.
[01:39:14] Speaker B: This explains your blood pressure problems. Too silly. Feel too much.
[01:39:18] Speaker A: This is doubt fire.
[01:39:20] Speaker B: No, it's getting me gassed up.
Bad water pressure and not enough hot water in hotel showers.
And so obviously, you know, we didn't have a show last week because I was work conference by week. We took a. We took a break. It just made sense because I had a work conference and it was a bi week for the Browns. But I'm at this work conference and they put us up in a decent hotel. Like, nothing crazy, but nice enough. Hilton Garden in.
[01:39:46] Speaker A: They don't sponsor us.
[01:39:47] Speaker B: The. The hotel's just fine. And I'm like, you know, everything's amenities are all good. I go to take a shower the first morning right before, you know, the first day of the conference, and there's like no water pressure. I have to change. They also have the stupid shower head where there's like 14 different settings. Like, I need like two settings and like, seriously, you. But there's like 14 different settings. So I find one that I get enough water pressure that I can actually take a shower.
And then you turn the water all the way hot and it's just hot enough to take a shower. Like just barely hot enough to take a shower. And you're like, seriously, like, I just want a nice hot shower. I'm already stressed out. We're at work. Not that, you know, it was. It was a good conference or whatever, but it's like, I'm at work, so it's like, I just want to take a shower. Nope. Nope.
[01:40:31] Speaker A: I usually find that my hotels have good water pressure and good heat.
[01:40:35] Speaker B: Nope.
[01:40:35] Speaker A: I usually look forward to my hotel shower.
[01:40:38] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, yeah, if you're.
[01:40:39] Speaker A: I would get gassed up if I had bad pressure.
[01:40:41] Speaker B: Right. See? See?
[01:40:42] Speaker A: Fair.
[01:40:43] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, you just expect it to work correctly is the bottom line. Like, I expect to go and I'm like, I expect a hot shower. With good water pressure. And when I don't get it, I'm pissed.
And so I was pissed in the morning. That first morning I was very stressed because I was like, seriously, like now I gotta like, I'm rushing to get there because it took longer to shower because I have no water pressure. No hot water.
[01:41:03] Speaker A: Yeah, that's unfortunate.
[01:41:04] Speaker B: And I don't want to get gassed up again. Talking about it.
[01:41:07] Speaker A: That would get you gassed up.
[01:41:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I was in the moment.
[01:41:10] Speaker A: I have a complaint. You wrote down Sally Field. It's young Sally Field that is gassing me up.
[01:41:15] Speaker B: All right, I'm sorry. I will, I will.
I'll make sure that's noted in the, in the notes when that, you know, goes out to the masses.
[01:41:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:41:24] Speaker B: All right.
[01:41:26] Speaker C: Looking up young Sally Field.
[01:41:29] Speaker B: All right, guys, it's time. It's going to take us to King of the North.
In case anyone doesn't know by now, this is our year long AFC north pick em competition. At the end of the season, whoever comes in last place gets punished.
[01:42:05] Speaker A: That's you. You're in last place.
[01:42:06] Speaker B: And the preseason. Last year, Kenny had a gross of eggs thrown at him by fans in the muni lot before a game. In the preseason this year, Kenny had his entire head of hair and beard shaved. Clean off, lots of hair donated. It was a good time. Me and Bone laughed, we watched, we pointed. It was great. Kenny, how did it feel?
[01:42:24] Speaker A: It was.
[01:42:25] Speaker B: The punishment this season will be you have to go to a public pool, get in, and then publicly announce that you have peed and said pool.
[01:42:33] Speaker A: Are you excited to do this?
[01:42:35] Speaker B: As of right now, no. But now that you're in last place, have you been waiting?
[01:42:39] Speaker A: Now you're questioning the legality of it?
[01:42:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm definitely questioning the legality of this. I'm not going to lose though. You lose, that's what you do.
So let's go ahead and get into things. But first, I want to remind everybody that Bone is the reigning defending King of the North.
Kenny, I don't care if you're not in last place anymore. You're still a clown. You've never won.
You've got punished every time. Shut your mouth. Although admittedly I find myself in last place. So I'm sad right now. So I admitted it. I am in last place right now. And the records are as follows. After week 10, Bone, 18 and 16, me and Kenny both at 17 and 17. But McKenna is winning due to tiebreakers.
[01:43:24] Speaker A: The preferred vernacular is jester.
[01:43:28] Speaker B: I don't care what your preferred vernacular is your preferred vernacular is idiot.
But let's get into this game. This week's games.
First of all, the Ravens take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
[01:43:42] Speaker A: God, that's a hard game to pick.
[01:43:45] Speaker B: And that's why we're going to start with you, Kenny who.
[01:43:49] Speaker A: I'm going Ravens. They're still the best team in the AFC North. I think it's going to be a hard game, hard fought game because I think the Steelers are just fighting and clawing for every win and they're motivated and Mike Tomlin has them doing good things. But I just think.
I think the Ravens are too much to overcome in this game even though they're in Pittsburgh.
[01:44:11] Speaker B: Fair bone who you got, man?
[01:44:16] Speaker C: This is a hard one. I'm really trying not to lose.
It's bad radio.
I'm going to go Steelers. I just going to go home game. Russell will continue to tussle.
[01:44:31] Speaker B: Oh God, here we go.
I'm going Raven specifically because I don't want Russell to tussle.
I actually was set to pick. Pick the Steelers because it's at home. But then you said that it just pissed me off. So I'm going with the Ravens. This is 100%. This is 100% a spike F. Russell Wilson after he was dancing after. After getting the guy to go off sides this week. He's. He's going to be. I predict I'm going to go. I'm going to go one further. Sierra. Whatever. I'm going to go one further. I think Justin Field finishes the game for the. For those Steelers. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:45:09] Speaker C: Nice.
[01:45:10] Speaker B: Russell ugly. Russell will not tussle.
[01:45:14] Speaker C: You just lost the game. You just lost it for the Ravens. After wishing Will ill on Russell like that, I'm going.
[01:45:20] Speaker B: I'm going with the.
The reason that you love Russell Wilson is so just like it's not even a real reason. Like your fan. You just happen to get him in fantasy football for like six years in a row. And so your fantasy football name continues. Continued to be Russell Will Tussle until the one season that I took him from you, which is where my hatred was born, by the way because I got him and he continue. He just proceeded to be absolute ass stops.
[01:45:45] Speaker A: Tussling.
[01:45:46] Speaker B: Yeah, he stopped tussling. And so midway through the season I took the name Russell Will Tussle. But midway through the season I changed my name to Russell no longer Tussles. I think is what it was. Or Russell. Russell will not tussle. Or I don't.
[01:45:59] Speaker C: I was Russell will Tussle. And then I Became Russian. Russell still tussles.
[01:46:02] Speaker B: Yeah. After you got him back.
[01:46:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:46:05] Speaker B: Yeah. It's just so stupid. Russell Wilson's not good.
He's got pretty good stats right now, but he's not good.
Anyways. Next up for King of the north, the Bengals travel to LA to take on the Chargers. Bone, who do you have in this one?
[01:46:19] Speaker C: I'm gonna go Chargers. Oh, I'll take the whole team.
[01:46:22] Speaker A: The whole team, the home team, the whole train. The guy behind.
Gentlemen.
[01:46:28] Speaker C: Harbaugh's got all those hoes going strong.
No, I'll go out.
Joey B's still really good, but Chargers defense is also really good.
[01:46:40] Speaker B: So his brother got stiff armed by Baker Mayfield.
[01:46:43] Speaker C: Last team. Chargers are a good team.
[01:46:46] Speaker B: That's fair.
Should we go? Kenny? Should we go? Me?
[01:46:50] Speaker A: I'll go.
[01:46:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:46:51] Speaker A: I really wanted to pick the Chargers in this because I do believe in Harbaugh's got that team playing good football. But Joey B has just been out of his mind lately.
I mean, again, Jamar Chase had 30 catches for 400 yards and 10 touchdowns last week. So I think they're going to probably pick up where they left off. They just, they just can score a ton of points at will.
[01:47:11] Speaker B: Yeah, they just happen to score less points than their opponents.
[01:47:15] Speaker A: Yeah. So as much as I want to hate the Bengals and you know, they're in Kentucky, that offense can be. Can score a point. Score points in a hurry and I. And they, they cannot keep losing games.
[01:47:29] Speaker B: Most likely favorable or no for sure favorable conditions in LA. So.
[01:47:33] Speaker A: Yes, 100%. So I have to go Bangles there.
[01:47:37] Speaker B: I hate you because I just. I never like picking what Kenny picks because I just assume that's the wrong pick.
But I'm going Bengals as well because I think they're a much better football team than they've. Than their record indicates. Yeah, there's problems with their defense and they give up a lot of points.
But the Chargers on the other side can't really. They're. They've. They've struggled to score a decent amount of points this year. They have a decent defense, can cause problems. But I still just. That Bengals offense is pretty good. And I said earlier in the show. Joe. Joey Bosa. Joey Bosa. Joey, you got me all fucked up.
Joe Burrow is playing at an MVP level right now and the only reason he's not in consideration is because the Bengals suck. So his defense has let him down all season long, but I think they do just enough this week to get it done. I got the Bengals in this one and Then finally, the Browns head down to Nawlins. And so do we.
[01:48:40] Speaker A: So do we.
[01:48:40] Speaker B: We're going with them, and they're going to take on the Saints in the Super Dome, whatever that was.
I'm just like, with them. Yeah, I'll go first year, guys, because I haven't gone first yet. I'm going to take the Browns 27, 24.
I think that look, that guy was dancing like bone dances.
[01:49:05] Speaker A: It's the bone dance.
[01:49:07] Speaker B: Did you guys see the dude. I meant to put this in around the NFL. Did you see the dude do the Reagan dance?
[01:49:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. The break dancer. Yeah.
[01:49:15] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. That was great.
[01:49:15] Speaker B: It was a good one. He nailed it. Start to finish. Anyways, Brown's taking on the Saints. I got the Browns winning 27, 24. I think Jameis Winston goes in there with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, lets him know that he still calls the shots.
Lets guys run in for touchdowns when they're blowing teams out, all those things.
And. Yeah, I just. I don't know. I just. I think that we get a little bit out of Nick Chubb a little bit more than we have. He starts to show us more what we've come. Become accustomed to with Nick Chubb and, I don't know, 27, 24.
These are two really bad football teams, guys.
[01:49:55] Speaker A: Fair enough.
[01:49:57] Speaker B: So it's going to end up being close, and I don't want it to, but it will be. So, Bone, who you got?
[01:50:04] Speaker C: I'm going to pick the Browns because we're going to be there.
That's probably the only reason That's.
[01:50:11] Speaker B: That's it.
[01:50:12] Speaker C: I. I think James will play well.
Two weeks ago was it two weeks ago now we had kind of a team win, and then we went downhill. So I'm hoping we get back to that initial, you know, start with James and team steps it up. So we'll go Browns.
Let's go. Browns 31, New Orleans 25, 25.
[01:50:38] Speaker B: I like how the. Just.
[01:50:40] Speaker A: I don't.
[01:50:40] Speaker B: I don't know, Zach. If Bone even knows this.
The scores that we pick are the.
Are the second tiebreaker. So the first tiebreaker, if somebody has the same record as your Browns record, like your. Your.
[01:50:59] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:50:59] Speaker B: How many Browns games you picked? Right. Your second tiebreaker is if. How many. The number of times you picked a score. Right. And I don't know if you know that. Cause you pick the wackiest scores all the time.
[01:51:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I never thought about that before.
[01:51:12] Speaker B: Yeah, Kenny's. Kenny's the only one that got that has One this year. So he's got one. And so more than you. If we both tie him and we both have the same record on Browns games as Kenny does.
[01:51:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:51:26] Speaker B: Then Kenny wins.
[01:51:27] Speaker C: Oh, gotcha.
[01:51:28] Speaker A: And you guys pee in the pool.
[01:51:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:51:29] Speaker B: Yeah. And if it's a two way tie, I think we have to both pee in the pool.
[01:51:33] Speaker A: Each other.
[01:51:34] Speaker B: Well, I guess the tiebreaker determines that at that point. But if it's a two way tie through three tiebreakers. We pee on each other.
[01:51:39] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:51:41] Speaker C: It's gonna be a make or break week for me.
[01:51:43] Speaker A: We pee on each other.
[01:51:46] Speaker B: So, yeah, there's that.
[01:51:48] Speaker A: Kenny, I'm gonna pick.
Look, at the end of the day, all these guys that play coach for the Browns are human.
They all know they're auditioning for their jobs either in Cleveland or somewhere else. So there's some professional pride that comes with that. Being on a team that's this bad.
And what happens is you start to look at the schedule, you start to go, well, this is one of the few we have left that we can win. So I think we're going to get a best effort out of the Browns this week because I think it's one game that's left on their schedule.
[01:52:25] Speaker B: With that being said, the Saints are saying the same thing, that they have.
[01:52:28] Speaker A: A chance to win. True. But the Browns are coming off a bye. They're fresh, they're healthy, they've had a.
[01:52:32] Speaker B: Perfect attendance on Monday at practice.
[01:52:34] Speaker A: Two weeks to prepare for this opponent, New Orleans Saints. While they maybe look at the Browns thinking the same thing, are into their interim head coach already who has got one game under his belt and he clogged the toilet that day.
So long story. I'm going Browns 3000, 120.
I think, I think it's what I said earlier. I think like if they can get out in an early lead here and, you know, put up a couple touchdowns, I think they will just. The Saints will lay down in the second half.
[01:53:05] Speaker B: You think Miles Garrett racks up a few more sacks?
[01:53:09] Speaker A: Yeah, probably. I mean, that offensive line, is it.
[01:53:11] Speaker B: Time for him to just be selfish and just be like, that's it. I'm just going for sacks.
[01:53:14] Speaker A: He's playing pretty well. But I just think think that offensively, like, we're going to be able to score more points than they can.
[01:53:21] Speaker D: Fair.
[01:53:22] Speaker B: Fair. And so there you have it. We'll see where things are after this week. Me and Kenny are not going to change. We will both relative to each other. We will have the same record. Bone could sink or swim for bone.
[01:53:37] Speaker C: I know. That's what I was looking at.
[01:53:39] Speaker B: Pretty scary. But with that, let me remind everybody to call the Burning River Sportscast. Hot take, hot take, Never get to call. I leave you hot takes on a hot take. I don't remember. These are hot takes.
[01:53:48] Speaker A: Hot takes.
[01:53:49] Speaker B: 3022-780803-30227-808-0330-222780-80330, 222-808-0330, 227-8080 call now. We want to put your takes on the air. And be sure to check out our gear. Www.thetappinmedia.com shop and that'll do it for us. Kenny, what can we expect next week?
[01:54:06] Speaker A: Oh, man, this week is going to be an absolute whirlwind with us being in New Orleans this weekend. So the plan. The plan. Remember, I said this is the plan. Plan is for us to be live. Live, live Sunday night. At least we're going to try to be. Depends on the level of inebriation, also our level of depression, whether or not the Browns win or lose, whether or not we need to continue to drown our sorrows or whether we'll be in a celebratory mood.
[01:54:32] Speaker B: So either way, we could be wasted.
[01:54:35] Speaker A: So if we are live Sunday, join us Sunday evening after the game for another live edition of a newer sports guest. And we will be recapping the Browns Week 11 game against the Saints. And then we should be on, oh, eight, maybe nine. There's a time change down there. We have.
[01:54:51] Speaker B: That's true. The time for that episode, if we have it, is fluid.
[01:54:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Just keep an eye on social medias. We'll make an announcement, YouTube, Facebook and X for when our livestream will be, when it'll come up on your feed. And then next Thursday we'll be back with the Week 12 preview for the Thursday Night Football game against Best Dealers. And then we'll of course have another brownsbackers interview for that as well. Do we have dbd?
When's John Hughes coming back? Not till. That's December, isn't it?
[01:55:25] Speaker B: Yeah, the first week of December.
[01:55:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:55:26] Speaker B: So mark it down, everybody. John Hughes will be back with us the first week of December.
[01:55:30] Speaker A: Just Browns backers next week.
[01:55:31] Speaker B: Yeah.

[01:56:06] Speaker A: It'S time. Facts for days.
[01:56:09] Speaker B: It goes so fast, though.
[01:56:13] Speaker A: Number one. Number one, all the world's bacteria stacked on top of each other would stretch.
[01:56:21] Speaker B: To the moon, to the ceiling.
[01:56:23] Speaker A: Much further, for 10 billion light years.
[01:56:27] Speaker B: What?
[01:56:28] Speaker A: Together, Earth's microbes could wrap around the milky way over 20,000 times.
[01:56:34] Speaker B: How do they even fit here?
[01:56:37] Speaker A: Really small.
But if you stack them on top, they're really big.
[01:56:41] Speaker C: That's weird.
[01:56:42] Speaker B: I can't even fathom that. Like, you get into numbers like this, and it's like, I. The brain. Does not compute.
[01:56:48] Speaker A: Does not compute.
That's why it's facts for days. Number two, an octopus doesn't actually have tentacles.
[01:56:58] Speaker C: Are they feet?
[01:56:59] Speaker A: Technically. When talking about cephalopods. Octopuses, Octopuses, octopi, squids, et cetera.
[01:57:05] Speaker B: Squid.
[01:57:05] Speaker A: Scientists define tentacles as limbs with suckers at their end. Octopus have arms with suckers down their entire length.
[01:57:14] Speaker B: Oh.
[01:57:14] Speaker A: So technically speaking, they just have funny arms.
[01:57:17] Speaker B: You got eight arms.
[01:57:22] Speaker A: Number three.
Here's one for your brain.
[01:57:26] Speaker B: That was almost. You're starting to get into, like, whale facts.
[01:57:30] Speaker D: Toast.
[01:57:32] Speaker B: I see what you're doing.
[01:57:33] Speaker A: It's almost as good as.
[01:57:34] Speaker B: What, like a teaser? Yeah. Yeah. Nice.
[01:57:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Here's one for your brain. We often think of space as infinite and limitless.
However did you know that our solar system has a wall.
[01:57:52] Speaker B: Wait.
[01:57:53] Speaker A: Called the heliopause. The region of space in which solar wind isn't hot enough to push back the wind of particles coming from distant stars. This is the boundary wall of the solar system and interstellar space.
[01:58:11] Speaker B: But that's just interstellar. Like space in general is still, like, beyond our own. Like the Milky Way.
[01:58:18] Speaker A: No, it's a wall.
[01:58:19] Speaker B: Oh, there's a wall.
[01:58:19] Speaker A: There's heliopause.
[01:58:21] Speaker B: Like, that's everything that's in. That's encompassing everything. You're saying?
[01:58:24] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:58:24] Speaker B: Like all the galaxies.
[01:58:25] Speaker A: There's a wall.
[01:58:26] Speaker B: Whoa.
[01:58:26] Speaker A: Yeah. It's pretty wild.
[01:58:29] Speaker B: So there's. At some point. There's. Nothing.
[01:58:33] Speaker A: Comes after the wall.
[01:58:35] Speaker B: Also solar winds. You like. Nothing moves in space unless there's solutions. Solar winds.
[01:58:42] Speaker A: Look.
[01:58:43] Speaker B: What is a solar wind? Tell me. I want to know.
[01:58:46] Speaker A: It's the particles of the sun coming off of the sun. It's solar particles that doesn't like light. Takes 8 minutes to travel to Earth. Those are particles coming.
[01:58:59] Speaker B: Are you making up solar winds right now, as you speak? Are you sure that's what solar winds are?
[01:59:03] Speaker A: Solar winds carry the particles.
Look, the sun is nuclear fusion.
[01:59:09] Speaker B: I'm gonna be honest with you. You don't sound convincing at all. Neil Tyson degrag. You are not.
[01:59:16] Speaker A: The sun is a big ball of nuclear explosion. It's just current constantly burning and emitting energy. It's just pushing energy out into space.
That's how we have warmth and light.
[01:59:27] Speaker B: Sounds like you just described yourself.
[01:59:35] Speaker A: Know. I don't know. I don't know. Google heliopods. I don't know. I don't know to tell you.
[01:59:39] Speaker B: And that's facts for days.
[01:59:43] Speaker C: Really tied him up there.
[01:59:46] Speaker B: I got him back for telling me my mom was the Big Easy.
[01:59:50] Speaker A: Cindy is the Big Easy.
Unbelievable. I love Cindy.
[01:59:55] Speaker B: I hate you.
[01:59:56] Speaker A: And I love Sally Field.
[01:59:57] Speaker B: You guys both got me yesterday.
[01:59:59] Speaker A: Young Sally Field.
[02:00:00] Speaker B: Bone hit me with the rock. Still tussles. And then Kenny got me up.
[02:00:05] Speaker A: Facts for days.
[02:00:06] Speaker B: Feels bad.
[02:00:07] Speaker A: What can I say?
[02:00:07] Speaker B: Bo, what do you think about all this?
[02:00:09] Speaker C: About space and time?
[02:00:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:00:12] Speaker C: I don't think about it.
[02:00:17] Speaker B: Fair.
[02:00:19] Speaker C: It's easier that way.
[02:00:26] Speaker A: Oh, man. What a bye week. It was.
[02:00:29] Speaker B: Yeah, it was good.
[02:00:33] Speaker C: I really don't.
[02:00:37] Speaker B: Is it time to get home to.
[02:00:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm going to bed. Good night. Bon appetit.
[02:00:42] Speaker A: Don't just be a part of a solar wind. Be the whole solar wind.
[02:00:45] Speaker B: And only you can prevent river fires.
[02:00:49] Speaker C: Solar wind.
[02:00:52] Speaker A: Nope.
[02:00:52] Speaker B: Nobody said anything. And Bone got scared. Burning River Sportscast.
[02:00:58] Speaker A: Burning river.
[02:01:01] Speaker B: Solar.
[02:01:02] Speaker A: I was gonna say solar wind for sportscast.
[02:01:05] Speaker B: Oh, in the sands.
[02:01:07] Speaker A: Oh, in the sands.
[02:01:08] Speaker B: So marching in.
[02:01:09] Speaker A: Marching in.
[02:01:10] Speaker B: When the sands go marching. Yeah.
[02:01:15] Speaker A: When the sands go marching in the number.
[02:01:19] Speaker B: Oh, in the Sea saints go marching in.
Good night, Cleveland.
[02:01:28] Speaker C: Good night. Action.
[02:01:29] Speaker A: Good night, Cleveland.
[02:01:31] Speaker B: Quiet on set.
[02:01:33] Speaker A: I now have two loves in my life.
[02:01:37] Speaker D: Big city living and a voodoo woman named Phyllis.
[02:01:41] Speaker B: I didn't think we'd be getting into Brad Pitt's house.
[02:01:45] Speaker A: I can't even say I didn't think we'd be getting into Brad Pitt's ass.
[02:01:49] Speaker B: Yeah, didn't think we'd get in there.
[02:01:52] Speaker A: We talk a lot of analingus on this show.
[02:01:54] Speaker B: So put your right foot in and take your right foot out. Then put your right foot in and shut the hell up. Because it's top not time for the hokey pokey. It's time for the burning river sports C. Motorboat. You play the motorboat.
You motorboat.
[02:02:09] Speaker A: Son of a.
[02:02:10] Speaker B: You old sailor, you.
[02:02:11] Speaker A: You know, I was thinking during that interview.
[02:02:13] Speaker B: What? What were you think? Not nothing. Because you don't have thoughts because you're a brainless idiot.
[02:02:17] Speaker A: Wow.
[02:02:18] Speaker B: My name is Uhtred. Son of Uhtred, by the way. I want my foreskin back.
[02:02:25] Speaker A: Women's Guide to. To Anal Sex. And it was the second edition. Who makes second edition?
[02:02:31] Speaker C: The weather outside is weather.
[02:02:33] Speaker B: The other one, the finger. The finger eating food. Fingers.
[02:02:36] Speaker A: Oh, my God. My ass is full of he.
[02:02:40] Speaker B: Everywhere.
[02:02:41] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:02:42] Speaker A: Ejaculate all over my body and my genitals.
[02:02:44] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:02:44] Speaker B: Oh, no. We suck again.
[02:02:47] Speaker C: You don't need fundamentals when you got heart.
[02:02:50] Speaker A: And Jesus.
[02:02:51] Speaker B: And Jesus.
[02:02:52] Speaker C: That's right.
[02:02:53] Speaker B: Touchdown. Anyway, what do you mean funny?
[02:02:55] Speaker A: Funny how?
[02:02:56] Speaker B: How am I funny? It's going down. I'm yelling.
[02:02:59] Speaker A: Timber.
God damn jets.
[02:03:02] Speaker B: Should we start a meat podcast? Like, like, like, like the meat pod Slow roasted.
[02:03:10] Speaker A: The leads are weak. The leads are weak.
[02:03:14] Speaker B: Leads are weak.
[02:03:15] Speaker A: You're weak. Then we should send a team of oil core drillers. Allah Armageddon to Mars to have them access the newly discovered reservoirs of water traps 7 to 12 miles under the surface that when released, will cover the entirety of everything on the planet. Less than a mile high.
[02:03:25] Speaker B: All I do is win, win, win, no matter what. Erroneous. Erroneous on both counts. I mean, when I. Last year, when I won and went home, you know, my wife pants hit the ground. Wow.
[02:03:36] Speaker A: But damn, I'm sorry I hijacked your segment for a second to do some good podcasting.
You know why, mister? Because you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight.
[02:03:46] Speaker B: I drove an $80,000 BMW.
[02:03:49] Speaker A: That's my name.
[02:03:50] Speaker B: I think we've officially lost all of our more conservative viewers, so I don't think they want to listen any longer.
[02:03:58] Speaker C: It's Mother Nature.
[02:03:59] Speaker B: I live my life a quarter mile at a time.
[02:04:01] Speaker A: Where's logo girl when you need her?
[02:04:03] Speaker B: I desperately want to make love to this cheese.
[02:04:05] Speaker A: We need cheese girl now.
[02:04:06] Speaker B: Down goes Anderson. Down goes Anderson.
[02:04:10] Speaker A: Who's canceled now? Who's canceled now?
[02:04:13] Speaker B: Probably me.
[02:04:14] Speaker A: You making it for the fat people.
[02:04:16] Speaker B: I'm not just you.
[02:04:18] Speaker A: We're a whole race, basically.
[02:04:22] Speaker B: No way. You just straight. Just finger bang their salad. What?
[02:04:25] Speaker C: Like you first get shocked and then you get the shocker.
[02:04:32] Speaker A: You, like, see, Almost naked.
