We're doing it live.
Let's get it started by reminding everybody to call the burning of sports guest hot take hotline.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Hot take hotline.
[00:03:39] Speaker B: Call the burning river sports guys hot take hotline.
We want. We want hot takes. We want your hot takes on our hot take hotline so we could read them on the air. 3302-2780-8033-02 27 80 80 33 02-2780-8033-0227 call now. Operators are not standing by. No, let's go ahead and jump into the week two recap here. Um, guys, it wasn't pretty.
It was actually pretty ugly.
But the defense went. Went in there and got the job done. Held the Jaguars to just 13 points, and the browns walk away the w. So let's go ahead and get into things like we always do. We'll start with our opponents on offense here, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence was 14 of 30 for 220 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions. And we did sack that mother four times.
[00:04:36] Speaker C: Yeah, everybody.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: Yeah. So, I mean, how do you guys think Trevor Lawrence looked in this game?
[00:04:42] Speaker A: Well, let me first just say 1813. This felt more like a middle school boys basketball score to me.
So just a kind of a weird day all around.
It felt like, you know, the browns kind of started fast, felt like DeShawn got into a rhythm early, and then things just kind of, like, stalled out. It felt like for pretty much the rest of the game, the rain started falling, got a little slippery, and this just ended up being, overall, kind of a very ugly, kind of boring game. Glad we got the w, you know, much needed, desperate. You know, you don't want to start in that. Oh, and two hole that our friends over in Baltimore have, but just kind of just felt like a weird game all afternoon.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: And Cincinnati.
[00:05:29] Speaker A: Yeah, well, they, they, they really took it. They're taking it hard.
[00:05:37] Speaker B: He hit the nail on the head. I'm glad that we got away with the w. Like, like I said when I started this segment here is. It was not pretty.
There was, there was a moment early on in the game, which we'll get to the Browns on offense and everything, but we were just kind of clicking right there at the beginning and I was like, this is going to be a blowout. And then we came back down to earth.
[00:05:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. It, uh, we definitely lost some momentum there, especially after halftime. It just felt like, um. I felt like there was just nothing doing. Um, I will say this. One of my big keys to the game going in was just trying to get that running game going. Um, Johnson, Foreman, I know, didn't have a ton of yards on the day, but I think they gave him the ball twelve or 14 times and had 40 or so yards. Um, but I think that opened up holes for Jerome Ford, who had 60 or so yards on, I think, just six or seven carries. So, you know, for the first time this season, I think we've seen the team go over 100 yards of the team rushing, which I think was a big part of the success in a game like this that was primarily won on defense. Special teams with just the ability to keep moving the rock a little bit at a time, you know, trying to, you know, optimize your time and possession with drives, trying to get those tough, gritty points and field goals. So I was glad to see that.
[00:06:55] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. And I know you mentioned this game was more mostly on defense.
So let's talk about Jacksonville's offense a little bit more. Lack thereof. I mean, other than Travis Etienne, they really didn't have an offense. I mean, he had 13 rushes for 52 yards. He scored their, their touchdown there and then. I mean, he.
[00:07:16] Speaker C: That one gets.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: What was that?
[00:07:19] Speaker C: Yeah, that one big play with their rookie wide receiver, Brian Thomas, junior, kind of open it up on for their touchdown, but other than that, it seemed like the defense held him in check.
[00:07:29] Speaker B: Yeah, I agree. I mean, they couldn't get anything going.
And just the Browns. The Browns defense. I forgot how exciting this Browns defense is and how exciting it was all last season to watch because they're kind of just all over the place. They're. They're constantly flying to the ball, gang tackling, just, just getting everybody in there, getting everybody involved, and they showed it again today. Why they were the number one defense all of last year.
[00:07:53] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, I gotta be thinking, I mean, you, I know you started off asking around about Trevor and obviously they had the whole Trevor bank Field thing going on there today with the big l, but, you know, I gotta be thinking that jacksonville, people in Jacksonville, are you starting to get a little apprehensive in the same way that the Browns fans are around DeShawn? Obviously, DeShawn has a lot more going on than Trevor, but just from a skillset standpoint, ability to win football games. This Browns team did not come in, you know, gangbusters today. They scored 18 points and that's all you could muster on offense. You would think you'd be able to.
[00:08:34] Speaker B: 18 points?
[00:08:36] Speaker A: Yeah, you would think that. And, you know, I know the Browns had four sacks, so they were putting pressure on them. But, you know, I think that that kind of money that he's making, that you're paying for him to find his way out of those and to make plays and, yeah, so far he just so streaky, you know, it's like he'll go for a couple of games and he'll be hot and then he's just downright awful. And some of these other ones, and today was one of those where it was downright awful to mediocre. I mean, again, both offenses kind of struggled a little bit. I don't know how much the rain really impacted it or the, the heat and the weather down there, but just got a strange day overall. But, but you can't have those, you know, if you're, if you're going to contend for an AFC south title, I'm sure that there are people that are disappointed there with the play of Trevor. Trevor Lawrence.
[00:09:23] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I know we've talked about it kind of throughout the week.
They gave him this big extension. Right. And they paid him all kinds of money. But if you look at his stats through his first few seasons with Jacksonville, they're, they're almost identical to Blake Bordels when he played for them. And Blake Bordels got, ran out of.
[00:09:42] Speaker A: Town and he went to an AC championship.
[00:09:45] Speaker B: Right. And I know for the most part they were losing with Blake portals. But just as we're just talking about stats, if you're just talking about stats, then they're, they're identical quarterbacks, basically.
[00:09:55] Speaker A: Well, I think what's more concerning for them is that this is, I feels like at least the, the best group of talent that they've had around a quarterback in Jacksonville for a little while. They've got some real players down there, you know, with, with the rookie Brian Thomas. They've got Gabe Davis, who had a couple catches today.
I know that one thing that probably worked in our favor was the fact that Evan Ingram did not play, and that sounds like that was a game time decision that he got pulled up on in warm ups. So, you know, they had some backup tight ends in the game, but certainly I think that's something that works in our favor.
[00:10:33] Speaker B: Yeah, no, absolutely.
Yeah. I mean, stifling all day for the defense. For the Browns, though, like we said. So on defense here. J. Ok. Was everywhere. Again, he ended up with seven tackles, which, if you asked me, I would have been like, that's. I thought he had more tackles than that, but. Because it seemed like he was in on every big play, but JLK was everywhere. Miles Garrett had a sack. Jordan Hicks had a sack. Alex Wright had a sack. Quinton Jefferson had a sack.
The only thing that we're really missing on defense to this point is we haven't forced any turnovers. Really.
[00:11:06] Speaker A: And no turnovers by other team in this game, which was kind of strange.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Probably the defense is playing well and no turnovers explains, like such the. Explains a low score.
[00:11:18] Speaker C: There's probably three or four opportunities today. It seemed like they just dropped through our defenders hands. They were right there.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:11:26] Speaker A: True. And then they had the kickoff return with where my buddy tank dropped. Dropped the ball. But I think we got called on. That was the kicker penalty. Right. They said Dustin Hopkins was illegal on the field.
[00:11:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
Penalty I've ever seen. That was, that was annoying.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: Like, I know these kickoff rules are new and everything for the NFL, but how, how would you, how do you get a legal formation on the kicker? He's kicking the ball. Kicking the ball. I guess somebody else line up bad and they just call all legal formations on the kicker.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess he can't cross the 50 until the ball's been caught. And I, I can't figure out why because it's not like anybody's like their kicker. And then they're like, all right, kick the ball and then you're the gunner.
[00:12:12] Speaker C: Right.
[00:12:13] Speaker A: Nobody is doing that. So I don't know what they're going.
[00:12:16] Speaker B: To be the first. And they told us to stop it.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: I don't know what that stops necessarily, but apparently that's the rule. It's funny, like, of all the. Every time, you know, all preseason long and in the first couple weeks of the season, they've, you know, ad nauseam gone over oh, the new kickoff rules. Dynamic kickoff that was never once brought up in any of the commentary that I've heard is that the kicker can't crosse the 50.
[00:12:40] Speaker B: Now, you know, now we know we.
[00:12:43] Speaker A: Have burned on it. Yeah.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: But, yeah, so, I mean, the defense had a solid day. Special teams was fantastic today, outside of, you know, Dustin Hopkins going past the 50 when he's not supposed to.
Dustin Hopkins was, what, three or three on the day? Yeah, three or three field goals along a 53 and one on one on his extra points. And then Cory Bajorquez, five punts for 218 yards, three inside the 20, including the one towards the end of the game at the two that set up the sacks. So, I mean, just, just big game for all the special teams, I think. And even. Even, you know, James Crochet on punt returns, average 14 yards a return, which is solid. And he only had the one kickoff return for 25 yards. So all around, it has to, you know, Ventron has to be feeling good about special teams right now so far this season.
[00:13:32] Speaker C: Yeah, there's a big. I felt like the momentum shift there, too, uh, when Jacksonville stopped us before that punt, um, on the two, and then the safety, safety sack. So I thought that was huge, just from a momentum standpoint of keeping Jacksonville off our heels. So, um, yeah, all the people that.
[00:13:49] Speaker B: Don'T, you know, that don't buy into special teams winning games, and. And you need to, you know, really work on your special teams and have that be a big part of your game. I think Cory majora has proved why it's important to have a really good punter on your team.
[00:14:03] Speaker A: So I gotta look at a game like this, too. And that's a great point. Uh, Ronnie, I think that overall, not only was this just a, like, all team win, to me, this was a coaching win. I mean, when you get into these types of games where nobody has really, nobody, nobody stood out, there weren't a bunch of yards or touchdowns, you know, anywhere to be found here. There weren't a bunch of weird turnovers. This was just an absolute battle of attrition. Who could. Who could hold out the longest? And. And I'll say it was almost a coaching loss with the way that we mismanaged the end of that.
[00:14:37] Speaker B: He was on the verge of getting his name back. Stefan acute was going to get his moniker back if he didn't stop it. I was like, I'm watching the game, and they. They make the boneheaded call of, we're going to pass it on third down and I was like, the first thing I said, everybody in the room was like, why would you pass that? And I said, stefanski's out. Trying to outstor, outsmart Stefanski again. It's. It's this whole, like, I gotta be the smartest guy in the room. Nobody will see this coming.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: Yeah, that made no sense at all. Just. Just run the ball there. And Deshawn has to know better, too. When your collapses, just take the sack.
[00:15:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:12] Speaker C: Did he roll? Did he roll out left? And it seemed like a designed roll out left to me.
[00:15:18] Speaker B: It did look like. To me, it looked like a designed Rolex. I believe it was almost like a bootleg or a naked boot, and not a naked boot, but, you know, like a bootleg out there so he could toss to something in the flats, and then it was. Somebody was in his face. So instead of taking the sack, he tried to get rid of the ball, and it just got knocked down.
[00:15:32] Speaker A: And it was a dangerous throwaway anyway. Yeah. I mean, all things considered, they were very, very, very lucky to get out of that whole situation with the way they mismanaged it. That being said, I think, again, a game like this comes down to coaching, and I'll, you know, I'll give the coaching staff credit for this one, as opposed to necessarily a heroic effort by any particular player or player group.
[00:15:56] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. But, yeah, so special teams played good, defense played good. Let's get into the offense, because this is where things were a little bit more shaky here. As I just mentioned, they started out great. That first drive was phenomenal, came out, and I think. I think Deshaun Watson, with all the distractions outside of football and everything else going on this week, to me, it looked, for a second, I was like, oh, man, is this going to be a big game for him? Is he going to come in? Like, I got something to prove because what do you start? Eight of nine, I think on the first drive, or seven of eight? One or two, and we marched right down the field. Then he had the rushing touchdown to cap it off. So I thought for sure we were heading for big things, but it slowed down after that.
[00:16:41] Speaker C: I think he had. He had multiple passes over 20 yards in, like, the first seven attempts, which I thought was wild for Deshaun. Yeah, that was good to see, for.
[00:16:49] Speaker B: Sure, coming off the shoulder injury and all the questions on arm strength and things like that.
[00:16:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that was coming off of last week, specifically. I mean, last week he looked like a totally different quarterback than he did in this first quarter. So, you know, we need to see more of this Deshawn, obviously. I mean, you know, lawsuits notwithstanding, as a player, we need to see him play more and more like this.
So, yeah, that was good to see. You know, what else I wanted to point out too was Jerry Judy. I can't talk. Jerry Judy was your leading receiver today. So Jerry Judy, followed by Elijah Moore. So good to see guys that, you know, obviously Njoku was out, but these guys stepping up your, you know, newer talent to the team stepping up and making plays.
[00:17:34] Speaker B: Uh, you made a point midway through this game, though, and you texted all of us. You said, amari Cooper's broken.
[00:17:41] Speaker A: Yeah. That's my next question to both of you is, are we, what's our level of concern for Mario Cooper? Because what is going on?
[00:17:49] Speaker B: Hi. Well, I guess, I guess I shouldn't say hi. If it, if we were mid like a few game, probably two or three more games in right now, I'd be panicking as far as Amarra Cooper goes. But I think the fact that, you know, even though he was at camp or whatever, like, there was still stuff going on early in camp with contracts and whatever else DeShawn wasn't, you know, he didn't play any of the preseason. So how many snaps he's had with Deshawn. But I guess that goes for everybody else. So, you know, I don't know. It's hard to gauge right now. He is a little bit older. Did he, did he fall off a cliff?
[00:18:23] Speaker A: Well, I can tell you what doesn't help. You get a contractor that pays $30 million a year and that's dropping wide open passes. So whatever the reason is, doesn't he.
[00:18:33] Speaker B: Have like three through these first two games?
[00:18:35] Speaker A: I think, yeah, whatever the reason is, he needs to knock it off and get it together because not only is it hurting the crowns, he's hurting his chances at getting the contract that he wants at the end of the day. I mean, he's playing right into Andrew Barry's hands and the idea that a receiver over the age of 30 is washed. So he's got to get it together.
[00:18:56] Speaker B: Yeah, apparently, I'm trying to look at ESPN here to see what his, his stat line was and apparently they don't track drops. So I don't know. But I think he has three through the first two games.
[00:19:07] Speaker A: Oh, and that he had three catches today for eleven yards. So it's not like he did anything else either. So not good.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: So if he does step up, though, you add that in with Jerry Judy and Elijah Moore doing their thing right now and you could be looking at a pretty potent offense potentially.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: Well, yeah, I'm just. I'm over the moon about Jerry Judy. Not. Not the game that he's had some kind of superheroic performance here, but the fact that, I mean, leaving Denver, he was. He was a little bit looked at in Denver as damaged goods. There were people that were like, this guy's a waste of time. He's, you know, it was overdrafted and is overpaid and overrated and, you know, small steps in the right direction for that receiver room, which is good.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. And so earlier, Kenny, you talked about the running back room and them stepping up a little bit today. So let's dive into that a little bit more. Jerome Ford had seven carries for 64 yards. Phenomenal yard per carry in this game.
Foreman, 14 carries for 42 yards. DeShawn had five for 20 and a touchdown. And then James Winston there at the end, he had two for four.
[00:20:17] Speaker A: So it's. They're bringing back the old Jacobi Brissette sneak tactic.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. I said at the end. Yeah, he had his two for four. And is that. Is that to protect Deshaun shoulder, you think?
[00:20:31] Speaker A: You know what's funny is they keep, they keep subbing him out on short yard situations for Jamis to do the sneak. But I feel like we've seen more designed runs, like cubie power type runs for DeShawn than we normally would have in the last couple of years. So on one hand, it's like they want him to get out in space and use his feet. But when. When it's really important that we get that yard, they're. They're taking him out and saying, we got to protect him, which. It just kind of doesn't make a lot of sense. Sense to me. But either way, look, I mean, I'm not mad to see Jamis on the field. He's a big bodied guy, and certainly the Sean shoulder probably is still at the back of their mind, as, you know. Hey, do we really want to go down this road should something happen?
[00:21:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So, I mean, yeah, I'm not real sure why they're doing that. It doesn't make sense to. I hate this whole, like, we have a starting quarterback, but we also bring this quarterback in sometimes.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: Right.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: It just. It always bugs me in the NFL, like, if you're the guy, you're the guy, so you should be playing on every down.
[00:21:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Like the. Like. And especially as a quarterback, like, you're generally like, I'm the best athlete on the field, like, you know, or the most important person on the field, like, don't take me out of the game when it matters the most. You know, it's not only Deshaun's small or slender of frame. I mean, he's. He's a good at. He's a good sized athlete.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: That's why I said, I wonder if they're just trying to protect him in those short yardage things where they know they're going QB sneak because he may not be small, but he seems to be fragile. So, you know.
Yeah, I mean, so what do you guys, you know, we talked about the offense kind of sputtering a little bit. They didn't, you know, they, they got the win. They scored more points than the other team. That's the name of the game. But overall, they didn't really do much.
Let's just real quick. I can go over the overall stats here.
Give me a second. Here we go. So first downs. Browns 17 to the Jaguars, 18 total plays, 65 55 in favor of the Browns total yards. 323 for the Jaguars, 297 for the Browns.
And then. Yes, I mean, you get down here.
Deshaun Watson only threw for 186 yards or so.
I think that was what the number was. 186. 22 34 for 186. And then no turnovers by either team. 125 total rush yards for us, 127 for them. 13 penalties on the Browns for.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: If you didn't get to that point, that's the most important number that sticks out to me right now for this team going forward. They had a bunch of penalties in week 113 again today. You're not going to win a lot of games. You have 13 penalties in. So I don't know if that's morbid indictment on the Jaguars or what, but you're just not going to win a lot of games in the NFL with 13 penalties.
[00:23:26] Speaker B: Well, we, we. I know we've talked about early on because most of the team didn't play in the preseason, so we talked about early on we were going to have some issues with, is that these first few weeks would almost be our preseason for the starters.
But, yeah, I mean, to your point, 13 this week. Eleven last week. You're averaging twelve penalties a game after two games.
If you keep that up, you're definitely breaking some sort of record.
So you can't win like that. And, I mean, we can't use it as a crutch either, because the Jaguars, who I'm sure also didn't play most of their starters for the majority of the preseason. They only had six penalties for 52 yards.
[00:24:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you're seeing kind of some of these lackluster numbers across the NFL, to be honest. There were a number of games today where, I mean, in last week where quarterbacks aren't thrown for a lot of yards, you've seen some really good rushing performances turned in.
JK Dobbins sticks out to me. I mean, the first couple of weeks is just crushing it, but, yeah. Offenses in general haven't seemed to be able to move the ball a ton just yet. And I think it's like we've talked about all preseason, like, it's that preseason lingering into the first few weeks of the regular season because teams just haven't played together. It's unfortunate.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: Yeah. And so, yeah. Sloppy play, though. We need to clean that up, that's for sure. Before we move on to nominate for our nominations for Dog of the week, one last thing I want to ask you guys about. We touched on it briefly with. With the boneheaded call, with passing it on third down, trying to run the clock out. But was there any other coaching issues that stuck out to either of you?
[00:25:09] Speaker A: I mean. I mean, that was the big one for me, which. Which was a little scary. Oh. Early on in the game. Yes.
So we saw the return of this fancy staple, the reverse, double reverse pitch in the backfield that netted zero yards in total offense, and they had a penalty, so net, total negative ten yards on the play. Like, I don't know why we keep going back to the well on this. Like, please just run the offense. And the thing that was so frustrating about that at the time was Deshawn came out and looked pretty good. Like, he looked okay was the best we've seen Deshawn look probably in a long time. These guys get into a rhythm. He's making easy completions. You feel like he's getting a. Getting warm, getting loose, and then you throw in what is potentially a drive stopper, like, trying to kill it.
So stupid.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: He said, let me, let me. Let's. I got an idea, guys. Let's run this play that nobody's ever seen before, and if it doesn't work, we might try and run it again later maybe.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: I've had it. I've had enough of those.
[00:26:11] Speaker C: Ended up being to Elijah more, right.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: Was it Eliza Moore, Jared Judy? Was it Judy taking it?
Okay, that might have been. I don't know for sure, but, yeah. But either way, we just.
[00:26:25] Speaker B: At that moment, I just. We all texted about it. We're like, no.
[00:26:28] Speaker A: Yeah. Poor, poor design for poorly blocked, poorly executed, and by the way, here's. Here's a penalty for you as well.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Bad job out of them. So, as I mentioned, let's go ahead and do our nominations for burning for sports cast dog of the week. So this is a. This is a new thing for us here. Typically, we just pick this and then we reveal it in our normal show. But what we want to start doing is get our fans a little bit more involved here. We're all going to nominate somebody that we thought could potentially be the dog of the week. And then I'm going to put up a post either tonight or tomorrow and let everybody vote on it and let the fans choose the dog of the week. So, Kenny, do you got somebody that you'd like to nominate?
Ooh. Drum roll.
Yeah, try to learn.
[00:27:20] Speaker A: I'm going to go with Cory Bajorquez again. I think this game was a game that was won a lot on field position, moving the ball a little bit at a time.
Three punts inside the 20, and then obviously the one down to the one half yard line there that led to the Alex Wright sack. And the safety especially, also wanted to point out, good for Corey because I don't know if anybody else saw or heard this week on Pat McAfee's show. They were interviewing Bill Belichick and they were talking about the browns and kind of where they're at and this and that.
But Jordan Quest came up for some reason. I don't remember why.
I don't know exactly why it came up. And, you know, Belichick was like, I'm real familiar with Corey. Corey can absolutely boom it. He really sucks at kicking the ball directionally.
So I felt like maybe Majorquest took that to heart because he put that thing just dead nails at the two yard line and rolled it out of bounds. So good on. Good on the punter there.
[00:28:26] Speaker B: That's a good one. I mean, bone kind of nailed it earlier. He said that completely swung things. That changed the game because they were starting to get some momentum. And Majoraquez came out and said. He basically said, take this. Fuck you guys.
[00:28:38] Speaker C: Not today.
[00:28:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I like that one. I like that one. I'm gonna go Dustin Hopkins. We're sticking with special teams here. Yeah. Three or three field goals and that's. That's, you know, nine. That's half the points for us. Oh, Andy was one of one on extra points, so he has over half the points for the team. I'm going corey. But Cory Majora, you swung me. I'm sworn.
I'm going Dustin Hopkins for my nominee, and then his long was 53 yards. So I was just like, dude, this guy just doesn't miss.
[00:29:13] Speaker C: Look like, look like chip shots for him, too. They're dead nut center. All three of them?
[00:29:17] Speaker B: Hell, yes. And then bone. Who you got?
[00:29:20] Speaker C: I was going to go. J okay. Despite our offenses best efforts to give the game away, the defense, you know, stayed strong, I felt the whole time, and I j okay, was fast today. He was, he was just everywhere.
One player in particular, I think it was in the first half, he was, he filled up just an inside trap play or whatever, but, man, he was in there and it was like a two yard loss. Just, he was all over their running back, so he's just fun to watch.
[00:29:45] Speaker A: Andy was the first brown to wear a guardian cap in a game.
[00:29:48] Speaker B: Tell. Yes, we actually it.
Go ahead, Zach.
[00:29:52] Speaker C: No. Yeah, I wanted to mention that. I'm glad you said that because it actually kind of looked kind of cool. I thought, like, I was worried they would, they would look terrible, but I, I thought it looked cool.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: It sparked a big conversation where I was watching the game today because one of the younger kids was like, oh, I respected this guy, but, but then he wore a guardian cap and I was like, you're just young, you don't understand. Like, if this is going to help two things. Two things here. One, if this, obviously the most important thing is their health. So if this is going to help with his long term health and help him to live a full life after football and not be breaking down, especially mentally, when you're, you know, 45, 50 years old, then I'm all for it. Wear a guardian camp. It doesn't matter how stupid it looks. If it protects your head and it protects your brain, just do it.
And two, the second part here was, I was like, you do realize this keeps us from going more and more towards the flag football side of things. Like, if you're able to protect his head and lower the number of concussions, they can play football freely. They can open up the rules a little bit to allow these guys to play and not worry as much about them getting injured. So I'm just like, you're just. You're coming at it all the wrong way because your way of thinking is going to, you know, that that's going to be what turns it into flag football because we have to protect them.
[00:31:10] Speaker A: And I would add a third component to that, which is whether or not the helmet condoms, the guardian helmet hats, whether or not they actually work or not, whether or not they look funny or not whatever. Like, if psychologically, a guy like jok feels like this is going to protect me and allows him to just miss a win and blow guys up, like now he's less about head injury and more about just playing football, I'm all for it.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. Me too. Because those guys just, they thrive on instinct. So if you take away, if you even just a little bit of hesitation, because he's like, I don't want to kill myself.
[00:31:48] Speaker A: Right?
[00:31:49] Speaker B: Like that. That could be the difference in a game.
[00:31:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:31:53] Speaker B: Missed tackle or whatever. So, sure. I totally agree with you. So that, that'll, I mean, that's kind of what we wanted to discuss today. So a couple, couple things before we wrap up here, let me remind everybody one more time to call the burning verse for cast hot take hotline.

Any last words, guys?
[00:33:46] Speaker A: I thought we were going to kind of go around, do one final takeaway from just everything in the NFL, anything at all.
[00:33:54] Speaker B: All right, go for it.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: Oh, you want me to go first?
[00:34:00] Speaker B: Yeah, you brought it up.
[00:34:02] Speaker A: Okay, my takeaway this week is that's why you draft a kicker, because the commanders obviously got cut. Gave York, after missing two field goals last week, but was replaced with our old friend Austin Sibert, fifth round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2019, who hit today's game winner. So everybody wants to, you know, don't draft the kickers, but there's a bunch of Browns drafted kickers floating around out there that are winning people games.
[00:34:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess my takeaway here will be AFC north specific.
What the hell, man? The Steelers are on top.
Steelers are on top. As of right now, at least the Browns are in second. But it does feel good that both the Ravens and the Bengals are owing to right now. It makes me happy.
[00:34:52] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:34:54] Speaker C: So, bone, I'll give a shout out to Buckeye Nation. Marvin Harrison junior, had a huge game today. He just. He dominated, thinking of a few touchdowns over 100 yards, so he had a big day.
[00:35:06] Speaker B: Those. Both those touchdowns came in the first quarter, too, stud.
Yeah. Anybody that's a doubter. Dude's a stud.
[00:35:13] Speaker C: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:35:15] Speaker B: But, yeah.
[00:35:15] Speaker A: Any.
[00:35:15] Speaker B: Any last words now, guys?
Bone, specifically.
[00:35:22] Speaker C: Ah, bone. Appetite.
[00:35:25] Speaker A: I'll just be a part of the problem, be the whole damn problem.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: And only you can prevent river fires.
Burning river.
[00:35:33] Speaker A: Burning river. Sportscast burning river.
[00:35:36] Speaker B: Burning river.
[00:35:38] Speaker A: Burning river.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: Good job, guys. Good job.
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Thanks.
Same to you.
[00:35:43] Speaker A: Yeah, we're just. We're just out here live streaming.
[00:35:48] Speaker B: We're gonna groove out.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: Yeah. This is our exit. Music. I like.
[00:35:57] Speaker B: Cleveland.
[00:35:58] Speaker A: Good night, Cleveland.
[00:36:00] Speaker B: Goodnight. Tactic.
