[00:00:23] Kenny Thunder: Time for the Burning River Sportscast. There's been some heavy assertions made this week that if you aren't unconditionally rooting for DeShaw Watson, you have a loser's mentality. If you boo on Sunday, you're a bad fan. But I disagree.
I think if you had mixed emotions after that win, you were the best kind of fan. One who refuses to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking ship. Winning cures all. Winning is the only thing that matters. Is that right? Because if you were serious, if you truly believed all that mattered was was winning, you would be trying to stop the damn ship from sinking.
You would be asking for better, demanding better. So I'm here to say to hell with that noise. This show gives you permission to embrace all of your feelings, to think freely and let your voice be heard. Be pissed off if you want to boo, if you want to be relentless when you walk into that stadium on Sunday, because you're not just booing. You're forcefully exposing genitals to women. You're not just booing this quarterback for sucking the living life out of this franchise as a player. You're booing Jimmy Haslam. You're booing JW Johnson. You're booing Andrew Barry. You're booing every single jack wagon clown who has made this our reality and then blamed you for being upset about it. I want you to boo so loud and so hard. It's a national embarrassment that is run as the lead story on every sports show for the next two weeks because you don't get a vote on how Jimmy spends his money. And this is the one time, the one place you get a say. You're not a bad fan. You're not the problem. They are.

He threw for, like, 230 yards.

[00:03:17] Ronnie Jams: Like. Like, this is what's pissed. Like, the more I think about it, because after the game, I was like, yeah, he was pretty efficient. That was his best game as a Brown. That's fucking embarrassing. We pay him $230 million.

[00:06:10] Ronnie Jams: All right, so this week's Burning over news story of the week. Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte west has seen better days.
[00:06:17] Kenny Thunder: You can say that again.
[00:06:18] The Bone Man: Yep.
[00:06:19] Ronnie Jams: In recent years, he's been spotted multiple times homeless and disheveled, and he's reportedly been battling addiction. But some relief may be coming.
[00:06:27] Kenny Thunder: And mental health issues.
[00:06:28] Ronnie Jams: And mental health issues. Thank you.
But some relief may be coming. His name, image and likeness has been restored to the NBA 2K video game franchise, and with it comes licensing payments for their use.
So hopefully he can get things turned around and get back on his feet.
[00:06:44] Kenny Thunder: It's been a long road for Delonte West.
I think he made something like close to $17 million as an NBA player,
[00:06:53] Ronnie Jams: which by today's accounts, it's not very much.
[00:06:55] Kenny Thunder: It's not a lot, but it's a lot of money.
Otherwise, in 2025, he was arrested for robbery. He assaulted and stole $23 from a man.
So to go from making $17 million to holding a guy up for 23 bucks.
Yeah, you've definitely seen better days.
2k really hasn't commented on whether this was, you know, not a handout per se, but whether there was some kind of motivation to help him.
[00:07:27] Ronnie Jams: I know behind the scenes like, like Mark Cuban got involved at one point and a few other people he paid
[00:07:31] Kenny Thunder: for and got him straight at one point. That was back around 2020, around Covid and But it does fit the, I guess, the storylines for the new career mode because you can pick up as a player, I guess, in a bunch of different eras. And one of Those is the 2010s LeBron Cavaliers.
So that's kind of the reason why they were to get him in the game.
But, you know, cool for, you know, a guy that spent some time here that I think fan was a fan favorite while he was here. I mean, people liked Atlante West. He wasn't the best. I think he averaged.
[00:08:04] Ronnie Jams: They have all the storylines, 10 points per.
[00:08:08] Kenny Thunder: I don't think they have all those, but that would be interesting.
[00:08:11] The Bone Man: Yeah, those are Some interesting storylines, what
[00:08:13] Ronnie Jams: the media of that time would say.
[00:08:18] Kenny Thunder: But good for Delonte West. Hopefully he can get back on his feet, get some cash in his pocket and turn things around. Could be. It could be a. Could be a redemption story. It's not a redemption story yet, but it could be a redemption story.
[00:08:30] Ronnie Jams: Pretty. Pretty cool story, like I said, with Mark Cuban and some of these other people that have tried to help him in the past being involved. Like you said, it makes you wonder if maybe behind the scenes there was some. Some press to what can we do to get this done? So good for them.

And so we were doing a seance in the middle.

[00:17:49] Ronnie Jams: Secondly, I'm a fairly new Browns fan.
[00:17:51] Kenny Thunder: I lived in Cleveland for a year when I was 11 to 12 years old in Arma and loved them then
[00:17:59] Menachem: and didn't follow a whole lot of football till I came back through about
[00:18:03] Kenny Thunder: a year ago and wow, wow. Cleveland Browns, especially now. I don't know that I can handle the emotional roller coaster of being a Browns fan though.
[00:18:17] Ronnie Jams: Growing up in Memphis and a couple
[00:18:19] Menachem: other other cities where like everybody loves
[00:18:22] Ronnie Jams: to hate and wants to not be
[00:18:24] Speaker E: there from there, but you're from there
[00:18:26] Kenny Thunder: and so you just make the best of it. I had, I've missed that sort of self loathing and continuous need to punish
[00:18:36] Menachem: oneself by self afflicted fandom and I found myself, you know, especially now today
[00:18:48] Ronnie Jams: in particular with this Deshaun Watson news
[00:18:51] Speaker E: going, man, I, I don't know. Cleveland.
[00:18:53] Kenny Thunder: Being a Cleveland Browns fan is like
[00:18:58] Ronnie Jams: dating that girl who is an absolute
[00:19:03] Kenny Thunder: wild ride and party to be with
[00:19:07] Menachem: but then can turn on you in
[00:19:09] Ronnie Jams: a second and make you question your entire existence. So I'm kind of in.

How do I feel about what's going on right now because I feel like I've been scarred the last four years watching DeSean Watson be the leader of this football team. Well, he wasn't the leader, but they tried to make him the leader.
And he played adequate. He played good. I guess I could use the word good.
I thought about those words of, like, how do you describe how he played? But it was just like. Like it was an okay game from not that good of a quarterback. And we won the game. The rest of the team stepped up. Our defense played like I thought they would the first week and hopefully the rest of the season.
And it was a. I would say it was a team win. It wasn't a win because of desean Watson, but he. He held the reins and we won the game.
I feel like Tampa Bay also had opportunities to take that game from us, and if Mike Evans was on that team, it might have been a different story. But. But, yeah, whatever we want. It's the NFL. That's. That's the kind of thing that happens. You know, people break a tackle and you score touchdown and I don't know. So I. I'm in that camp of, should I be excited because it was a win? I guess. Am I bad fan? Cause I'm not. I don't think so.

But what I will give credit to for this team right now, at least just prisoner of the moment, is from week one to week two, we saw a vast improvement. And what I never saw during the entirety of the tenure of Kevin Stefanski was that kind of, like, dichotomy where it's like, hey, we played really poorly in one week and made adjustments, changed things. And whether it was cultural, conceptual, like, we.
It was a different. It was a different team.

So I will give Todd Monken credit for whatever transpired over that course of that week because it looked like a completely different team, which we never saw happen under Kevin Stefanski. It was just the same kind of, like, plotting, operational, all the crap that he used to spew.
And we're just going to do it better. Like, no. Like, they made significant changes and showed up in a different way.
[00:41:27] The Bone Man: But after week one, my initial thought was, okay, the defense knows desean's the quarterback. They know he can't win a game in the NFL. They're not playing hard because why would they? I Get, they're getting paid, they're in the NFL, blah, blah, blah. But you still, if you know this guy doesn't deserve to be out there on the field, why am I even playing? Why am I putting my body on the line? All that. But after this week, I'm like, I can't say that I don't think I can back it up after that performance because they played hard. So I don't know what the hell's going on, because they played significantly better.
[00:41:58] Ronnie Jams: Here's the problem. This is what's going to be like all season. You guys know that, right? It's going to be. I think they'll have a good game here and there.

Have a loser's mentality about this. Like, no, we want the Browns to not just win. We want them to win consistently. We want to sustain excellence. We don't just want to win one time. Deshaun Watson played well, played okay one time when we won. Like, yeah, that's. That's good. And it's a step in the right direction, but you have to do that consistently over time. Right? Like, I don't just want to win one game every now and then when

Anyways, so let's. Let's really get into the Browns brief here. Oh, how quickly things change.
Starting out, the Browns brief and I talk. We've. We've hinted at it a few times already, but talking about the Cleveland media. So I called out Mary Kay pretty hard on Sunday and how terrible she is, which is nothing new. Everybody knows that.
I have one more to add today. Anthony Lima.
The more I listen to this guy, the less brain cells I think he has, and the more he opens his mouth, the more I. I think Cleveland fans actually just hate him.

[00:43:30] Ronnie Jams: And these are quotes. Who cares if the fans are human? I don't care if you're booing them every time, then guess what? They're going to think of you as a fan base. He then proceeded to Talk about the impression it makes on Denzel Boston and the young guys. And now Ken Carmen came right back and kind of laid into him, and he called him an idiot and said that that was one of the stupidest sentences he'd ever heard in his entire life. And. And he rightly pointed out that the fans pay his salary, which is very true. So, Anthony Alama, you should probably watch your fucking mouth.
[00:43:57] Kenny Thunder: We' about that all year, just even in relation to. To Deshaun Watson.

[00:44:00] Kenny Thunder: Which is, at the end of the day, everything that. That the Browns do, that we do, that the Ken Carmen show with Anthony Lima does in the mornings, it all exists as entertainment for this city. Right. Like, it's on some level, the way that the. The consumer that is consuming the product, like, what they want matters.

Just with this whole thing here, remember, this is the same guy that every chance he possibly has, he likes to talk about how the players are human, and he likes to humanize the play, which they are. I would agree with that. I agree. But you can't then turn around and say, I don't care if the fans are human or not, and talk about how their opinions don't matter. Without the fans, there is no team.

[00:44:48] Ronnie Jams: And I know that everybody can argue all they want, like, oh, well, if you're not going to be a fan, somebody else is going to take your place. And I get. Get it. I do. But at the same time, the fans are what makes the team. And I think that he would do well not to forget that.

I will say I feel like he sometimes does play a villain on purpose to drive conversation.

[00:45:18] Ronnie Jams: They also disagreed on fans in Baker jerseys, so just want to throw that one out there, too. Lima was all fired up, up about fans wearing Baker jerseys during the game. He said when they showed the crowd showing the Baker Mayfield jerseys, it fired me up, where I'm like, screw them. I thought it was loser energy all week. Again, Ken Carmen disagreed a little bit of that back and forth. But, like, I just don't understand that. Like, he. He kind of went on to say, like, get over it. He's not part of our team. You shouldn't care about him anymore. And Ken Carmen took the approach which I think most Browns fans have have, is no wearing Baker Mayfield jersey shows that they do care because they are fed up with where we're at as a franchise and where we could have been if we would have hung onto this guy.
[00:46:00] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. I mean, you can say what you want about Baker Mayfield, and there's a lot of revisionist history out there about what. What went down and how much of it was Baker's fault and he was playing poorly and he injured all the things. At the end of the day, Baker Mayfield's the most successful quarterback in Cleveland Browns modern history since 1999 when they returned. Returned. He won games. He took them.
He won a playoff game. I mean, he. He was good here. And I don't know what changed that. We felt like we deserved something better than good.
But he. He.
He sustained what he achieved the goal. Right. He sustained winning over multiple seasons, which we have not seen here.
And I think that's why there's still so many people that are willing to send money to Tampa Bay to purchase a Baker Mayfield jersey, because we know we had that at one point, and it was good. We. I've seen the mountain in the top, and it was. And it was good like that. We want that back. And. And the desean scenario changes everything because not only did we take something that was good and working and we were enjoying, we replaced it with the exact polar opposite, which is just absolute football for half a decade now.

Next up here in the media, Tony Grossi, last week, before the Week 2 win, was asked who he thinks gives the Browns the best chance to win.
And he had this to say, which might be surprising to everyone.
I'd say Sanders. Now I'm off the Watson train. Well, I'm sure he's back on it now because DeSean Watson won a game.
But this is the guy that all last season and into the off season and at the beginning of this season, has talked about how Shador Sanders basically isn't worth a damn. And you've got to go with DeSean Watson because he's the. He's far better at quarterback.
[00:48:15] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I. I mean, the. The hot takery and the head spinning just between him and Mary Kay, all season long, all offseason long, about this quarterback conversation.
[00:48:25] Ronnie Jams: It's literally like week to week and you get the polar opposite out of it.

[00:48:30] Ronnie Jams: Like, we talked about it on Sunday, but just, just for context, in case anybody hadn't heard it, Mary Kay's whole thing was she talked up to Sean all off season and into the preseason, into the first game of the season, only to do a report before the game this past week that this is probably deshaun Watson swan song.

[00:48:46] Ronnie Jams: Oh, and then he played well. And I'm sure she's back. I haven't even checked in on her stuff this week because I can hardly bring myself to read it.
And I'm sure she's back on that bandwagon, talking about how he's going to start to start 10, 12, 15 games for this team this year.

He said every win and glimmer of offensive production with Watson is fool's gold. That only delays the inevitable divorce between him and the Browns.
That's why wins with Watson are still long term losses.

[00:49:44] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I mean, every time they win, you improve or I guess you cost yourself draft picks for a guy that is not going to be here next year.

[00:50:00] Kenny Thunder: Well, I would rather watch Dylan Gabriel or Taylor Green play before I need to watch DeSean Watson anyway anymore. He's not a part of this team's future.

[00:50:13] Kenny Thunder: But here's what I'll say, guys, look, desean Watson played adequately in one week and he's already created the beginnings of a sea change here in Cleveland where people are going, I don't know, maybe this desean thing isn't so bad.
He puts up one or two more of these performances. As much as we, as much as we Talked and have talked at length for years now about the fact that he won't be a part of this team's future. They won't reset, sign him. That conversation, I think is coming, and it's coming soon because I like it. Because you have to. Right. If they're saying definitively he's the best quarterback in the room and they're winning games, how do you not entertain the conversation?

[00:51:11] Kenny Thunder: So if, if this is the case where, hey, right now, at this point in time, everybody thinks there's no way Desean Watson, he's going to be in March, you know, June 1st, cut. Whatever the, the NFL calendar says. Like, everybody's on that. That bandwagon. If Jimmy comes out in 90 days from now and says, hey, we're having discussions with the John Watson and his agent because we've won five games in the last six weeks, like, whatever, it could very well happen.

[00:51:39] The Bone Man: Yeah, they're going to need a veteran presence to, you know, guide this rookie quarterback into the future.

And then finally for the Cleveland media, Tony Rizzo also gave a bold prediction earlier this week. He said, I think the Browns deal should or before the deadline line, and I think Gabriel is your backup and Taylor Green is your third. I think desean can start a dozen games this year if that happens.
I mean, talk about setting yourself back. Like, if DeSean Watson is in any form, like, first of all, if he starts a dozen games this year, this year's gonna be awful.
Just for the future of the team. I'm not. I don't even care what happens like this actual year, but, like, for the future of the team, that's gonna be terrible.
And then like you said, if we bring him back, I mean, you just talk about setting yourself back even further.

The fact that we have gone down this Shador road and we clearly are still having conversations about desean being the best Quarterback in the room is starting to tell me that the Browns don't really believe in him at all.

Who knows what will happen with Shador, because we don't there. He's so raw and so young and he has so much growth ahead of him, but that would feel real bad.

There's no way that he comes out to anything but booze, and I think it's going to be every time he touches the field. And maybe he'll play really well and it'll quiet down over the course of the game. But look, this guy is fragile. He's got a fragile ego.

We'll start with. We're only going to go over like the high profile injuries.

[01:04:52] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it was a bad week to be a quarterback. Jackson Dart injured his left knee. He will have season ending surgery, but he could Be back for the playoffs. Should the Giants make it? I doubt they will at this point, but you know, we'll see.

[01:05:07] Kenny Thunder: Depends on whether or not they trade for Shador Sanders.
[01:05:09] Ronnie Jams: One man with a crab leg is just a mere mortal, but 11 men with crab legs can move mountains or whatever.

[01:05:18] Ronnie Jams: James Famous Jamis Jaden Daniels dislocated his elbow again.
So last year. He missed four weeks with the same injury, but there was no structural damage last year. So we'll see. They haven't announced anything yet, but if there's no structural damage or probably similar time frame, but if anything's torn, he's probably going to be done for a long time.

[01:06:55] Ronnie Jams: Like everybody thought it was so serious. Season ending injury. He like dropped in the middle of a run. It was just like rolling around on the field and they, they carted him off as his big show. Come to find out, he just. It's like a low grade ham hamstring pool.
[01:07:10] Kenny Thunder: I will say it hurts to pull your hamstring.
[01:07:12] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. But it's, it's just tweaked. They're talking originally they were saying he might play this coming Week.
They've now downgraded him and says he's probably gonna miss one week.
So just, he's a little.
[01:07:21] Kenny Thunder: I mean it definitely impacted the outcome of the game. They went from scoring 59 points to three.
[01:07:26] The Bone Man: Yeah, I, I think of this and then I'm like, has your wife ever put like cold hands on you and you screamed and you're like, is that what this was?
He just like, man, I really overreacted there. But that's. Those cold hands suck.
[01:07:39] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I think that's what it was.
[01:07:41] Kenny Thunder: That is super accurate and super relatable.
[01:07:46] Ronnie Jams: In related news, Case Keenum said he's ready to go.

[01:07:50] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. But that brings the total number of quarter starting quarterbacks injured in the first two weeks of the season to five.
They joined Sam Darnold, who.
[01:07:58] Kenny Thunder: He hurt his butt. Yeah, he hurt his butt real bad.

[01:08:02] Ronnie Jams: And Kyler Murray who got a concept concussion.
So, yeah, five starting quarterbacks out through the first two weeks.

[01:08:10] Ronnie Jams: Also getting injured. Dallas, is it Goddard. Goddard sprained his mcl. He'll miss multiple weeks. They're saying probably four to six.
And then Aaron Jones just came out on Wednesday of this week.

[01:08:24] Ronnie Jams: He's dealing with some knee soreness and it's probably going to keep him out this week.
[01:08:28] Kenny Thunder: So he's weak in the knees.
[01:08:29] Ronnie Jams: Weak in the knees. Him and my Miles Also injury related.
Michael Penix Jr. Makes his return for the Falcons this week. A couple of things here. Maybe Drake London will become fantasy relevant again. I hope so. He's on my team and he's been asked.
And then the other thing is the Falcons can now go from losing by 20 to lose or losing by 24 to only losing by 20. So that's good news.

[01:14:57] Speaker E: Yes, we are the Carolina Brownsbackers here in Charlotte, North Carolina.
We meet at Heist Brewery and Barrel Arts in Camp North End.
This is my first full year as president of the chapter myself and kind of my team took over after week two of last year.
[01:15:19] Ronnie Jams: We were passed baton year they've ever had, right?
[01:15:23] Speaker E: Yes, we got passed the baton by Ryan and Sean who had been president for 15 plus years, so had some pretty big shoes to fill. We work with Cow's Pals. Animal Rescue is our main partner for chicken charity. We have an upcoming adoption event this weekend. So they'll bring out five or six adoptable dogs.
We'll raise some money for them, hopefully get a few of these dogs adopted.
But yeah, it's, it's been fun.
Some weeks more fun than others this past week. Probably the, the most fun we've had so far.
[01:16:07] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. And no good charities you guys are working with. I love hearing about all the different events and different kind of things that the brownsbackers across the nation and honestly the world are doing with their, with their local communities. So now you mentioned that event coming up this weekend. Do you have any more as the season go on, goes on?
[01:16:28] Speaker E: Yeah. So we've tried to cast a little bit of a wide net in terms of charities we're working with.
So actually for the Thursday night game, I've got a big blow up tackling dummy, Steelers tackling dummy. And we'll do kind of like Ohio State does with the junkyard car before Michigan. We're going to raise some money for the Cleveland Browns foundation for $5. Give people a few whacks at the tackling dummy with a baseball bat.
So we're looking forward to that.
My wife and I adopted a dog from Carolina Poodle Rescue a couple years ago. So week seven, I've got them coming out to do an adoption event.
[01:17:10] Kenny Thunder: What did you name the dog?
[01:17:12] Speaker E: What's that?
[01:17:13] Kenny Thunder: What did you name the dog?
[01:17:15] Speaker E: His name was Casper. We kept the name.

[01:17:22] Speaker E: So the week before Thanksgiving, we'll do a canned food drive for a local food pantry. And then we have a big Christmas event that we're doing for Angel Tree. So we, we run a raffle every week, try to have, have 10 or so prizes, something autographed and a 50. 50. And so for the Christmas event, everything will be wrapped up so people won't know what they're getting, which will be pretty fun.

[01:18:04] Speaker E: I have been down here 13 years now. I came down here for college. I went to Queen's University of Charlotte and I've here ever since.

Do you guys have chapter of the year aspirations? Is that, is that what's coming up?
[01:18:27] Speaker E: We're, we're working on it. I've become friends with the guys in North Jersey who I know are friends of the program.
So I was at the president summit at the end of August, picking their brains, trying to find ways to throw our hat in the ring. And I, I like our chances. We've got a lot planned. We have really good participation.
So I, I think that we've got a chance. Yeah.

So the big thing is, you know, obviously there's a lot of, a lot of stuff going on around the quarterback situation.
You know, up until this past week, we were pretty sure we were seeing Shador. This week that's come and gone.
Where's your, where's your preference and what does the chapter as a whole seems to think?
[01:19:37] Speaker E: So, I mean, winning kind of solves everything, right?
Yeah. If you would have asked me at this time last week, I would have said that Shador would be the guy coming into this home game.
But I got to give desean credit. He did play very well.
We haven't really seen that from him in his, you know, the past five years, but if he's able to provide that type of football, I think that you got to stick with him. I mean, I think he's third overall in completion percentage and top 10 in yards per attempt and QBR, and so it's definitely not how I expected things to play out, but he did look pretty impressive, to be fair.
[01:20:27] Ronnie Jams: Like, half the quarterbacks got hurt this week, so.
But no, I hear what you. What you're saying.
To use. Sorry, Kenny. Real quick, to use one of Kenny's old analogies.
If somebody punches you in the face over and over again for five years, but then one time shows up and gives you flowers and chocolate, how confident are you that going forward you're gonna get flowers and chocolate and not get punched in the face again?
[01:20:53] Speaker E: I'm just trying to be optimistic here. So I've got my. I've got my hands out. I'm ready for more flowers in the chocolate. Whether I get that or keep bringing it.
[01:21:02] Kenny Thunder: Nick's got the blinder.
[01:21:04] Ronnie Jams: You know, as a whole, the. The Browns fan, you know, fandom is very positive. I mean, they get angry, but as soon as we. We win a game, it's like the Super Bowl.
[01:21:14] Kenny Thunder: So, speaking of the fans, Nick, do you anticipate booze raining down on Sunday afternoon?
[01:21:20] Speaker E: I think we'll get some. I think that it's a lot less than was expected. Like I said a week ago, I think that he earned himself a little grace. I mean, whether or not Tampa is a good football team is kind of to be seen, but there are no bad wins in the NFL. So I think that he'll get. He'll get some, but I don't think it's going to be what everyone had kind of expected originally.
[01:21:46] Ronnie Jams: Well, there's some insight on that. I'll be at the game on Sunday.
[01:21:49] Kenny Thunder: And how do you have insight? The game hasn't happened yet.
[01:21:52] Ronnie Jams: No, I said I will be at the game on Sunday. And I'm not ashamed to say it. I'll probably just. Because hopefully.

[01:22:02] Ronnie Jams: Well, that's true, but hopefully. He shuts me up real quick. Is. But I mean, just honestly, we've talked about it pretty extensively over the last couple of weeks.

See, see so now. But, but so with all of that in mind, I mean obviously he's getting the start.
Who do you think wins this Sunday?
[01:22:37] Speaker E: I mean, I'm delusional. It's got to be us.
[01:22:41] Ronnie Jams: Is that, is that your real take? If it is, I'm okay with it.
[01:22:46] Speaker E: I think that there was a lot to.
A lot of positives to hopefully build off of. I mean the young receivers. Receivers.
I think that wearing the number definitely helps, but Denzel Boston was looking a little Josh Gordon esque out there.
KC looks like a stud. The defense came to play.
I mean there's definitely still frustrating moments, Brown's moments. I mean we had the.
I think it was fourth and one in the first quarter. Quarter ready to go for it. Half the line jumps off sides. We have to settle for three.
At the end of the first half we decided not to punt the ball on our own 30 yard line.
Gave them three points going into the half, but we came out and looked like a different football team in the second half. So got to give the coaching some credit for that. That I'm hoping that we'll build off of that.
I think it's going to be a close game.
It's hard to kind of know what to expect from this Carolina team though, right? They gave up what, 59 points in week one and three last week.
[01:24:01] Ronnie Jams: So if they 60 spot is tough in the NFL and on the flip side, only giving up three is tough in the NFL, so.
[01:24:11] Speaker E: So I think we've got a chance.
[01:24:13] Ronnie Jams: Well, if, if you had to put a score on it, what would it be?

[01:29:51] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, of course.
[01:29:51] Ronnie Jams: The only thing we ever called him
[01:29:52] Kenny Thunder: Kevin Stefanski in the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Dave Canales. Yeah, you really let me down there.
Maybe I'll edit that. Fix it. Head coach Dave Canales is in his third season in Carolina after previously serving as Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator. He's brought the first consistency to Carolina's head coaching position since the riverboat Ron years.
This year Canales handed play calling duties to third year offensive coordinator Brad it allowing Canalis to focus more on the overall team and player development.
Defensive coordinator Jiro Averro Evero leads the defense.
He's a defensive coordinator so he leads the defense. Naturally. Don't call me Shirley. The biggest storyline coming into this week is quarterback

[01:30:41] Kenny Thunder: The biggest storyline is quarterback Bryce Young who has been excellent through the first two weeks. He has thrown for 60448 yards, six touchdowns to just one pick.
The Panthers biggest strength right now is their passing game with their receiving court featuring McMillan, Leggett and Coker.
[01:30:58] Ronnie Jams: You didn't want to pronounce his first name either. I get it.
[01:31:00] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, they got a couple because you got Tetaroa and Xavier. They got some weird ones. Veteran tight end Darren Waller has already been a factor with two touchdown passes against Atlanta. Chuba Hubbard remains the centerpiece of the running game and was also selected as one of Carolina's five team captains. They have actual captains there.
This offensive line is lower middle of the pack. PFF ranks them 21st through the first two weeks of the season. So there should be opportunity to get after Young. A Jared Verse sighting would be nice. On defense, Derek Brown, the 330 pound Pro bowl defensive tackle anchors a front that can make life difficult for the Browns offensive line. J.C. horn is another major piece in the secondary and gives Carolina a proven corner to contend with. Cleveland's young receiver receivers. Second year kicker Ryan Fitzgerald has yet to miss in 20, 26 and 14 year vet Sam Martin handles punting duties. Bottom line. Carolina isn't the same bottom feeding team they've been in years past. They're bringing a young quarterback playing some of his best football. A talented young receiving core and a physical defensive front. And a coaching staff that has had continuity with Canales. So will the real Cleveland Browns please stand up? If the Browns week are week two good, this could be a very competitive test. If they are week one to bad, this will be over early. That's all I got. They have the worst run defense. I don't know if you guys know that or not.

I think it might actually Be. No, not the worst, but one of the worst.

[01:34:05] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Their current record is 1 and 1, coming off a mauling of Kevin Stefanski's fou Falcons 34 to 3 and so far this season on defense, overall, they're number 30 with 419 yards per game given up.
That's not good.
Their past defense is number 13 in the NFL at 195 yards per game. And their run defense, number 32 with 224 yards per game. On offense, they are the number four ranked offense right now with 409 yards per game, which is almost as much as they're giving up.
The running game is number 20 in the NFL at 96.5 yards per game. And they have the number one passing offense with 312.5 yards per game.
[01:34:44] Kenny Thunder: Impressive.
[01:34:46] Ronnie Jams: The Browns, on the flip side here, they had a 5 and 12 record in 2025 and came nowhere close to winning their division.
Their current record is one and one. They're coming off an encouraging win over Baker and his Buccaneer boys.
[01:34:57] Kenny Thunder: The Tampa.
[01:34:58] Ronnie Jams: Yeah.
And so far this season, defensively, they ranked number 20 overall with 336.5 yards per game given up. Their past defense is number 16 at 205 yards per game. And their run defense is number 26 at 130, 31.5 yards per game. Offensively, the Browns are number 28 in the NFL. 269.5 yards per game.
[01:35:19] Kenny Thunder: That's stellar passing game.
[01:35:20] Ronnie Jams: Their running game is ranked 31, not 32, at a whopping 65.5 yards per game.
There is somebody worse than that, believe it or not.
And our passing game is ranked number 16 with 204 yards per game.
[01:35:36] Kenny Thunder: Whoever's worst, do they just not have a running back?
I guess they just don't play with one.
[01:35:41] Speaker E: Yeah.

Well, my key to victory is to combat Carolina's passing attack.

We have a fairly good secondary, but we can need to continue to get pressure on Bryce Young, make him uncomfortable back there and ultimately bring him to the ground. So help. Help Bryce Young make bad decisions by our defensive line.
Pounding him into the ground.

[01:36:28] Ronnie Jams: So is this like a. Should we get a lot of sacks or should we.

[01:37:07] Ronnie Jams: Defense was just terrible. Week one gave him 59 points. So they scored 37.
[01:37:12] Kenny Thunder: They scored a lot.
[01:37:13] Ronnie Jams: Literally. You win like 95% of your game scoring 30. Probably more than that. Scoring 37 points.
[01:37:19] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, but you lose all of them that you lose.
[01:37:21] Ronnie Jams: You lose all of them that you let them score. 59.
[01:37:24] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, that's.

[01:38:13] Ronnie Jams: I mean, we'll see. It's still early.
[01:38:15] Kenny Thunder: Are we still high on Jared Verse or are we still.
[01:38:17] Ronnie Jams: I still. I still like him as a prospect, like, for long Term. But I just. We'll see.

[01:38:26] Ronnie Jams: We can all agree the entire defense didn't show up on the way we thought it would in week one and they bounced back in week two. So true. It's still early.

[01:38:35] Ronnie Jams: Right. So we'll see.

All right, players to watch. I'll go first. Quin Sean Judge, he's been averaging basically 2 yards of carry since before he got injured last year. So they have the worst run defense in the league.
I understand that run blocking is not our offensive line strong suit.
They're still gelling in the on that front. But Quinchon Judkins, you got to make something happen. I mean like we talked about it year last Sunday and I'm legitimately starting to question if we should start using the B word with him. You said it's not. We're not there yet. So I'm not going to actually use it right now.
But it's been a while since he's had a decent game like since like his first four games.
So I'm going Quinte on Judkins. Kenny, who you got?
[01:39:46] Kenny Thunder: Sorry, I'm. I'm still laughing because you said gelling on the front and I was thinking that your mom is jelling on my front.
[01:39:55] Ronnie Jams: It's happening, right?
[01:39:56] Kenny Thunder: I'm glad that you went first and picked Quinon Judkins because my player to watch and I mean actually watch because we're starting to throw around the B word.

I need to pay better attention to whether he's the problem or if the struggles here are more emblematic of concept and execution across the offensive line. So I think it's just unfair. It's a little bit unfair of us to keep pointing the finger at him.
Just looking at production.
[01:40:34] Ronnie Jams: I mean made stuff happen with a
[01:40:36] Kenny Thunder: terrible line, especially if he's not really the problem. So we know the offensive line was asked last year, especially as the season went on, I saw somewhere on either ESPN or PFF that had the Browns O line ranked as 31st in run blocking. So that's a pretty good indication that the problem may be more or less up front than actually with Quinn, Sean himself. So I'll be watching him extra close with the microscope on Sunday. Microscope? Magnifying glass, not a microscope. I just need a microscope to see him.
[01:41:02] Ronnie Jams: I just use a magnifying glass. Go back to. I know not there's only one Nick Chubb, but Nick Chubb, for years we asked the question, is he that good or is this offensive line that good? And we found out real quick. Quick that he was that good.
[01:41:14] Kenny Thunder: I mean, I agree with you. I think, like, when I think about great running backs, you know, like Barry Sanders didn't necessarily need a great offensive line. Like those guys could make things happen.
But maybe he's not Barry Sanders. Maybe he's just a good NFL running back and you still need help then.

In the preseason three years ago, Kenny had a gross of eggs thrown at him by fans in the muni lot before a game. In the preseason two years ago, Kenny had his hair and beard shaved clean off. Last season, Kenny donned the pads for the first time in 20 years and got hit three times.

[01:54:02] Kenny Thunder: I started with shaving my armpits because I was so mad. And I realized, and I have a lot more respect. Not that I disrespected women, but I have a lot more respect for women to shave their armpits now because of how quickly it grows back. And I was having to shave my arm. It was super prickly and super uncomfortable. And so I was like, God bless you, women that shave your armpits every day, because it's just one extra step in the shower, and if you don't do it, it's really uncomfortable. So I was having to shave my armpits every day. So finally, I was like, I'm gonna grow this out a little bit so that I can Wax it. And now.

Dallas had a good week. They put up 37, but they didn't have much competition. Competition once.
I can't think of his name. Jaden Daniels went down, so I feel like this is going to be a shot.
[01:55:48] Ronnie Jams: Hold him to. What was the final score of that one?
[01:55:51] Kenny Thunder: Wasn't very many.
[01:55:53] Ronnie Jams: Keep going.
[01:55:54] Kenny Thunder: But anyway, I think this is going to be kind of a shootout type game.
Against my better judgment, I'll go Baltimore in this one.

I don't really have a big reason, but I just feel like. I feel like they're going to win.

And Cincinnati I hate to say it looks pre good right now. Off to a hot start, which is the exact opposite of what they usually do. I've already gone.02 with Cincinnati so far this season, so I'm going to pick Cincinnati to win on the road.

No, I think Carolina jumps out to an early lead in this one. The Browns maybe mount a late comeback to make things marginally interesting, but can't get the job done. Carolina wins. 30 20.
