The King of the munchkins made his NFL debut and he was neither an entertainer nor a player. He was, if anything, boringly efficient. Stellar? No. Competent? Sure. Was it enough to end the quarterback competition? Apparently so, as Grandpa Joe will take center stage week one against the Kentucky Kitty Cats. In other news, the Browns continue to be a haven for those with the most questionable of backgrounds. Welcome to Cleveland, a place where character doesn't matter, rap sheets are lauded and mug shots are as commonplace as trading cards. And yet no one wonders why this team can't escape its own shadow. We'll break it all down for you next on the Burning River Sportscast. [00:02:00] Speaker A: I don't think anyone wants to have wet dreams here. [00:02:01] Speaker B: Act like you've ever run a podcast before. Yeah, yeah. [00:02:04] Speaker A: One time we went undefeated in the regular season. [00:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:08] Speaker A: No, we didn't. [00:02:09] Speaker B: What's the date today? [00:02:10] Speaker C: The 18th of August. [00:02:12] Speaker B: Let's never talk about Deshaun Watson again on the program. [00:02:15] Speaker C: I love it. [00:02:16] Speaker A: You can't say that. [00:02:17] Speaker B: What's smaller? Dylan Gabriel or Kenny Pickett's hands? [00:02:21] Speaker A: It's close. It's close. Bottom line, it was pretty funny because it was like, like. I don't think that means what you think it means. [00:02:29] Speaker D: The preseason season. That doesn suck. You know this. [00:02:33] Speaker A: That's true. [00:02:34] Speaker D: This preseason does not suck. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Let me. [00:02:37] Speaker B: Let me recap this interview. Congrats on chapter of the year, Cliff. You're so old. [00:02:45] Speaker E: I had a workout with this team not too far away from Cleveland, and they were asking me to run a 40. I'm literally in my seventh year. I played. I have six years of film. You know what I mean? And I'm like, if you guys need me to run a 40, you need to probably look at the rest of the defense, you know what I mean? [00:03:03] Speaker A: The newest official member of the show and former Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Big John Hughes has agreed to put on the pads one more time. Light Kenny Thunder up. [00:03:13] Speaker C: Light him up. [00:03:21] Speaker B: Welcome into the Burning River Sportscast, presented by the fine folks at Tap in Media. I'm Kenny Thunder, joined today by a man many daddy issues. He should have his own podcast. [00:03:33] Speaker A: I do. [00:03:33] Speaker B: He's not. Ronnie Jams on the board today. Call him daddy. We all do. He's hall of fame hard. He's the big bone, man. [00:03:43] Speaker D: Bone. [00:03:43] Speaker B: I heard your wife was leaving you for a musician. How did you take the news? [00:03:48] Speaker C: I killed that guy. [00:03:52] Speaker A: Russell Dickerson. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Killed Russell Dickerson? [00:03:56] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:03:56] Speaker C: It was a great show. [00:03:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:57] Speaker C: Fantastic concert. [00:03:59] Speaker A: So you accept her leaving you for him? [00:04:00] Speaker C: Yeah. She handed me the camera and I was all about it. I'm like, this is a great moment. [00:04:05] Speaker B: All right, well, back to red hot. Yeah, we got this Burning river sportscast T shirt. Yeah. [00:05:08] Speaker A: We got the quarterbacks rooms T shirt. [00:05:11] Speaker B: Yeah, lots of T shirts. Go get them more. [00:05:13] Speaker A: More T shirts. Go get them. All kinds of stuff in there. But on today's show, this is what you can look forward to. We got a message from a new show regular. We're recapping the second preseason game against the Eagles and our first look at Dylan Gabriel in the orange and brown. We'll talk about the Browns newly named starting quarterback, discuss a few things around the league, chat with the Browns backers chapter of the year and our defensive correspondent and Staple of the show, John Hughes. And of course, we'll preview this week's preseason matchup against the LA Rams. [00:05:44] Speaker B: Jam packed agenda. [00:05:45] Speaker A: Yeah. So remember, Browns fans, individually, we are one drop. Together, we're an entire river. And we're about to light that river on fire because we are the Burning River Sportscast. Now, let's kick things off by reminding you to call the Burning River Sportscast. That's right, Dover's. Call the hot take. [00:06:07] Speaker B: Hot. Yeah. So here's the thing. So the Burning River Sportscast hot take hotline is currently down. What'd you do for maintenance? [00:06:18] Speaker A: What did you do? [00:06:20] Speaker B: So here's the thing. I was frauded. [00:06:23] Speaker C: You got frauded? [00:06:24] Speaker B: I got frauded. [00:06:24] Speaker A: By whom? [00:06:26] Speaker B: And so, long story short, our payment card on the frauded card was rejected. [00:06:32] Speaker A: They were so disappointed when they frauded you. They were like, there's no money. [00:06:35] Speaker B: There's no money there. I wrote a podcast. Yeah, yeah, there's no money in that account. [00:06:40] Speaker A: So anyway, people listening to us are like, yeah, there's probably not any money in there. [00:06:44] Speaker B: Yeah, no, no money. No money. Played all day. Lots of money. No, no money. [00:06:47] Speaker A: No. [00:06:47] Speaker B: No people. So anyway, had to, you know, update said payment information, and now we're trying to. In lieu of things. Our number has been suspended, so we're. [00:06:57] Speaker A: Trying to recover it. We don't know if we're able to. [00:06:59] Speaker B: Yeah, we're working on that. So we'll either have it up and running soon for hot takes, or we may just come at you with a new number soon. Yet to be determined. [00:07:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:07] Speaker B: So depends on the Godfathers at Google. [00:07:10] Speaker A: So don't call the Burning River Sportscast hot take hotline. You get a busy message. That's all you get. It's just like, you know, old school, like no one's there. [00:07:19] Speaker C: We don't want hot takes. [00:07:21] Speaker A: We don't want hot takes. [00:07:22] Speaker B: We don't want hot takes. [00:07:24] Speaker A: We don't want hot this week. We don't have a number. [00:07:27] Speaker B: No, no. [00:07:29] Speaker A: But that'll take us to the Burning River Run. All right, guys, before we get into the rundown this week, we have an announcement that I said I would come back to on the show last week, and then I never did. [00:07:45] Speaker B: Last week's show was such a mess that I opened with talking about the Mile High Browns backers logo, which we never. The new logo, which we never addressed. [00:07:53] Speaker A: We're addressing that this week as well. [00:07:55] Speaker B: And then we addressed some new additions to the show, which then we never addressed as well. [00:08:00] Speaker A: Yeah. So I'm remedying That. First of all, apologies to this new. This new regular on our show. There was no disrespect. I didn't mean to do that. [00:08:12] Speaker B: Just our sheer incomplete. [00:08:13] Speaker A: I'm just. I'm just an idiot. So. But here, here. I mean, without further ado, Macho Fan is joining the Burning River Sportscast. [00:08:22] Speaker B: Hell yes. [00:08:23] Speaker A: He will be coming at you bi weekly this week to promo the Browns. This week, this. This year to promo the Browns games. And he actually has a message for you right now. [00:08:43] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You know what time it is? Yeah, it's the 2025 Cleveland Brown season. Yeah, it's here. And it's going to be wild. Gonna be maddening this season. Which also means it is season four. That's right. Season four of the Burning River Sports cast. That's right. And it's gonna be hold down. But my man Kenneth then as well as running jams, the pool are gon it real. As well as the man, the bone man, that is. And don't forget about our big defensive tackle, John Hughes. That's right, John Hughes is coming around. Also a personal friend of mine, Brown Strati will be around the show. And don't forget about all of you brownsbankers from all over the world. We'll be tuning in every week. That's right. Including yours truly, Macho Fan. Be there or be square. So we'll see you for season four Burning River Sports guest. Yeah. [00:09:44] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Gold Browns. Oh, man. Between him and Brownster Knot, we're starting to become. You know, last year we talked about, like, the convention that all the super fans go to. Like, is there a convention you guys go to and get together and talk about Browns? Like, we're it. It's it. [00:10:09] Speaker B: We're. It's the superfan community. [00:10:12] Speaker A: This is where they congregate. [00:10:13] Speaker B: We're like a cosplay dream. [00:10:16] Speaker A: Something like that. [00:10:17] Speaker B: Dream. [00:10:17] Speaker A: Yeah. What? Yeah, Yeah. I don't think anyone wants to have wet dreams here, but. [00:10:23] Speaker B: They want to have wet dreams anywhere. [00:10:25] Speaker A: Probably not. You're right. [00:10:27] Speaker C: The best place for that to happen would be at home. You can change your underpants. [00:10:33] Speaker A: Insightful. [00:10:35] Speaker B: We really screwed the pooch on this, though, because then literally in the announcement brownstronaut made, he also welcomed Macho Fan. [00:10:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:43] Speaker B: So the cat was kind of already out of the bag. [00:10:44] Speaker A: Thanks, Brownster. [00:10:45] Speaker B: Not officially out of the bag again. Just our sheer incompetence. [00:10:48] Speaker A: Thanks, Brownster. Not you beat us to it because we made a mistake. [00:10:51] Speaker B: Act like you've ever run a podcast before. [00:10:52] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But with that. Let's get into the preseason Week 2 recap game against the Eagles. Browns, actually. They're. I mean, it was mostly backups, but their Browns actually looked better than I thought they would. [00:11:05] Speaker B: Are we good or is this. [00:11:07] Speaker A: No, we're not. Let's not get ahead. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying, like, we actually might have more depth than I thought we did because even though the Eagles also played mostly their backups, they're. They're the defending super bowl champ. So you. You need to. You said it last week, you have a deep team to win the Super Bowl. [00:11:24] Speaker B: We expected the level of competition to be better, even though we were playing backups. [00:11:27] Speaker A: Yeah. And we actually played fairly well against. [00:11:31] Speaker B: Him, which was won again. [00:11:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:32] Speaker B: Whatever that means. [00:11:34] Speaker A: Whatever that means. I mean, you know, you never want. [00:11:35] Speaker B: To be preseason champions, but one time. [00:11:38] Speaker A: We went undefeated in the regular season. [00:11:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:41] Speaker A: Or no, we didn't. [00:11:42] Speaker B: In the preseason. [00:11:42] Speaker A: In the preseason. And then we went defeated in the regular season. [00:11:46] Speaker B: 100% defeated. [00:11:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Good old Hugh Jackson. [00:11:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:50] Speaker B: I wonder what he's doing now. Should we get him on the show? Probably not. [00:11:54] Speaker A: No. I've heard he probably doesn't like. [00:11:55] Speaker B: Heard he's kind of not somebody you want on the show, but yeah, I don't. I mean, look, as far as where I've been with the Browns, not expecting a whole lot, very low expectations. Like, I've been pleasantly surprised with where the preseason is at so far. I haven't seen a lot of like, screw ups. Obviously. We've seen Kevin Stefanski try and lateral the ball in the backfield a few times, which is just unnecessary anytime, especially. [00:12:21] Speaker A: Just to stable the offense. Like, that's what we do. [00:12:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Like he, we. We run laterals. Like teams run, like power. Right. Like, that's, that's. It's just, it is the. [00:12:31] Speaker C: Are you forgetting the one time it worked this past game, I saw it in a highlight. I think we got like a 15 yard game. [00:12:38] Speaker A: If that's like your. [00:12:39] Speaker B: Oh, cheers, Kevin. [00:12:42] Speaker A: If that's your. Like we run this 40 times because one time we might get 15 yards. Like, it didn't even work. It got 15 yards. Like, that's, that's not. Like, to me, that's not working. If you get a touchdown, that works. If it's going for 15 yards and that's the. That's the risk reward you're going for. Gadget plays a bad job out of you. But no, with. With this. So again, the big story of the. The game was Dylan Gabriel. Obviously, we got our first look at Dylan Gabriel in a Browns uniform. He went 13 of 18, 143 yards, zero touchdowns, one interception, one fumble lost. You actually kind of summed it up pretty well in your opening. I don't really have to talk too much about it. The only thing that I'll add is the turnovers. Like, the turnovers were not good. [00:13:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, but he's a rookie, so I think he. He was, he was efficient. He made a lot of completions. You know, it's. It's almost like I'm almost like, do I have a bone to pick with the Cleveland media? Because look, I wasn't a huge Dylan Gabriel fan coming out of the. [00:13:38] Speaker A: Still, not to be honest. [00:13:39] Speaker B: And still. Still not a huge fan. But, you know, obviously I hope he plays well because he's a Brown. But. But pretty much every report unilaterally out of camp was like that this guy is not even deserving of an NFL jersey. And like he was. He was fine. He was. [00:13:53] Speaker A: Think Daryl Ryder's feeling right now. [00:13:55] Speaker B: He was so. He was so adequate. It actually is more of an indictment on like how bad desean Watson was last year that he still couldn't run this offense. Dylan Gabriel, a 5 foot 7 rookie like that had zero expectations like how. [00:14:08] Speaker A: He just messed with his height. That's the one thing, like, you know, the, the media looks bad for. For talking him down so much. But we will not like, we're always going to make fun of how much. [00:14:17] Speaker B: I'm never going to let that go. And I'm not tall, but it's still. He's shorter than me, but, but that. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Would put him at 5 7. Right. He was. [00:14:25] Speaker B: He was plainly adequate. I don't know that he showed the same kind of poise and calm feet under pressure that Shador did. I. I still think Shador had had a better debut. To me, he down King, you know, and it wasn't that he was inaccurate or anything. It just. [00:14:43] Speaker A: There's nothing wrong with that rookie. You take what you can get. [00:14:45] Speaker B: He absolutely played the game of take what the defense gets me, which is what the quarterback position does most of the time. Right. Like, you know, Tom Brady made a career out of it. Yeah. [00:14:54] Speaker C: So that can change game to game too. [00:14:56] Speaker B: So. Yeah. And so again, like it was it the best perform. No, but like. And he had the turnovers. He got. He kind of stuck in the pocket a few times again and took a few sacks that he probably shouldn't have taken. But. But overall, like I was. I didn't leave that game going like, oh, geez, like, if this guy ever plays, like, we're in big trouble. I was like, he. He. He looks to me right now like a guy that can make a career as a backup in the NFL. [00:15:17] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:15:17] Speaker B: And if that's his ceiling or his floor, like, I don't know. It's. He's not the worst quarterback I've ever seen. So. [00:15:25] Speaker A: No. [00:15:25] Speaker B: And in the way that I kind of look at this quarterback competition from here on out, and obviously now Joe's been named the starter, which we all expected a little bit, is. I kind of look at Dylan Gabriel as. He's like a Honda Civic, you know? Like, it could be, like, a good, solid family sedan if you soup it up and add some turbos. Like, it could have some. Some merit. Like, it could be a. Could win some races where, like, Shador is, like, this really shiny, sleek sports car, but you're not really sure what's under the hood. It could be a four cylinder. [00:16:00] Speaker A: It looks good, but it looks great. [00:16:02] Speaker B: It's got a lot of promising attributes, but we're still not sure exactly. Like, can it win a race? [00:16:07] Speaker A: I like this analogy. [00:16:08] Speaker B: It's kind of where I'm at with the quarterbacks right now. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I like that. Did you come up with that on your own? [00:16:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:13] Speaker C: And Joe's obviously like a McLaren, right? [00:16:18] Speaker A: Well, yeah, but McLaren, it doesn't run as well. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Joe is a Ford Tempo. He is very reliable. [00:16:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I like that. I like that. What's Kenny Pickett? [00:16:28] Speaker B: Kenny Bigot shouldn't be in the NFL. Kenny Pickett should be. [00:16:33] Speaker A: Everybody. Like an old. I was gonna say, like, he's a. [00:16:36] Speaker B: A garbage man, but that would be demeaning to garbage men. Yeah. [00:16:40] Speaker C: You don't want to offend the working man. [00:16:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I got no. I got no quarrel with the garbage. [00:16:44] Speaker A: No quarrel with the garbage man. [00:16:46] Speaker B: The garbage men are great. Like, Kenny Picket doesn't deserve to be working in there in their echelon. [00:16:52] Speaker A: Yeah. He does have nice hair, though. [00:16:54] Speaker B: Nice hair for a garbage. [00:16:57] Speaker A: Sorry, what does that mean? Any garbage man listening? I apologize. My. My co. Host is a. [00:17:03] Speaker B: No, again. I got no quarrel with the garbage men. They're great. Kenny Picket is not. [00:17:07] Speaker A: Not. No. And then I will. I just want to say this. The defensive line, it's early and it's preseason, but they. We have a lot more depth than I thought we had on our defensive line. [00:17:19] Speaker B: The defensive line is very impressive. [00:17:20] Speaker A: They. They are putting pressure on the quarterback. [00:17:23] Speaker B: If this team overachieves this year it will be on the back of, of that defensive line. [00:17:27] Speaker A: I agree. And we already know we have. I know Martin Emerson's not playing this year. He's done for the season. But our secondary has still got some guys that if you, you get the quarterback under pressure and, and force quarterbacks to make quick decisions, they can jump some routes and, and make things happen in the secondary. [00:17:43] Speaker B: So I do want to say this about the secondary. Denzel Ward by all accounts is having a phenomenal camp. You know the, the reports coming out of the joint practices with the Eagles this week were like that he was, he was locked, locked down on the lake. I'll say this just about. Denzel in general is like, like enjoy it. It's because that position's hard to play. It's harder to play as you get older. He's in what year eight or nine now and he's probably right now at the peak of his ability and he's going to be a lot of fun to watch this year especially and hopefully next year. But like just enjoy it because like there's going to come a time soon where everything that he offers as a football player is, it's just naturally won't be there. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:32] Speaker B: So like don't take that guy for granted because he is one of the best, if not the best corners. [00:18:36] Speaker A: This is the moment like, like and remember you're in the good times when the good times like he's the good times right now. [00:18:43] Speaker B: He gets overlooked I think because he's often on, on the one and you know if he's locking a guy down, there's just no action. They can't throw the ball to that guy because Denzel Ward is so good. So he doesn't always show up on the stat stat sheet or in PBUS because, because they just don't throw the ball his way because you can't. So just, just again just like enjoy it because I think we're getting the best of Denzel this year like right now and hopefully the guy, you know, stays healthy and has a phenomenal year. But yeah, it's just that success at that position is so short lived and he's had a really nice run already and I think we're just kind of right now at the tip top over as good as it's ever going to get. [00:19:21] Speaker A: Absolutely. And so just, just in this game in general, guys, did anybody stand out to you? We'll start with Bone. Anybody stand out to you in the preseason game? [00:19:31] Speaker C: Honestly, I was driving during the game. I watched a Highlight reel, so. [00:19:34] Speaker A: Oh, you were at Dickerson. [00:19:36] Speaker C: Yeah, they. They didn't show a lot of, you know, bad plays. It was all good. It seemed like the running backs ran well. I don't know. Like, Pierre Strong had a. Had a couple good highlights and. [00:19:46] Speaker A: You stole my thunder. He's thunder. I had Pierre strong 13 carries for 89 yards. He had a long of 54. So he. He showed burst. And we've been saying this for a couple years now. Pierre Strong, like when he gets north and south, like that guy runs. [00:20:01] Speaker B: The problem with Pierre Strong is he still has ball security questions. Well, yeah, every time he gets meaningful carries, like meaningful work, he puts the ball on the ground. That might have also been with all. [00:20:12] Speaker A: The Quin, Sean James and. And, you know, Jerome Ford and Nick Chubb leaving and everything else. Like, Pierre Strong kind of got lost in the shuffle. Like he. Like nobody's really talking about him, but he came out and had a decent game. [00:20:25] Speaker B: So, yeah, look, we've been asking for more Pierre Strong ever since he showed up in. In Clevel. So, you know, I don't know. We'll see this year what we get. [00:20:32] Speaker A: I don't think we will because we got two rookies now. We'll talk about Quinshawn Judkins in a second. [00:20:36] Speaker B: But, yeah, the guy for me, honestly, is Jamari Thrash. I was really impressed with just every, like, just the way he moves on the field. I think he's. [00:20:49] Speaker A: Hopefully it sticks this year. Boxing camp champion last year. [00:20:52] Speaker B: A few passes and looks really fast, you know, so I think that's something that this Browns team needs, is somebody that can, you know, get underneath, fight for ufc. That can. That can be a mix it up kind of guy. I think Jerry Judy's gonna have a great season, especially early on with Joe, but I'm counting on a guy like Jamari Thrash maybe showing up and you know, being that, you know, solid, you know, second option. [00:21:16] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I mean, I hope so. He. Last year he was, you know, in camp, he was. He was the guy like everybody's talking about Jamar, talking about Thrash, and then he came out and didn't do anything during the race. He didn't really play that much, did he? [00:21:32] Speaker B: We didn't see a lot of him. No. [00:21:33] Speaker A: So, yeah. But yeah. Next up here, Quinshawn Judkins. I mentioned him a minute ago. Current reports are conflicting. You kind of mentioned this last week and then once his case got kind of postponed, most people reported pretty much immediately that he's going to join the team. Soon. And that's still, I think that's still the prevailing thought. But then you started seeing other reports creep up this week even more so that, well now they might wait and until the full investigation by the NFL is done. [00:22:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:07] Speaker A: So what are your guys thoughts on this? [00:22:08] Speaker B: I think it's important to point out the fact that like from a legal standpoint the charges were dropped. [00:22:15] Speaker A: Right. I guess I should update that. Last week we were talking about the, the case being postponed until the end of the season, but now they've been dismissed because conflicting reports, which we'll talk about that too. [00:22:26] Speaker B: What that doesn't necessarily mean he's been completely exonerated and we've seen the NFL do this before. They're going to absolutely, you know, launch and do a thorough investigation and there's a very strong chance that he will be suspended for four, six games, whatever the, you know, minimum is for, for, for that occurrence. And so, you know, the contract thing is certainly up in the air. I've seen a lot of reports that indicate that, you know, it'll probably come post whatever the NFL decides, you know, is their investigation because there's likely going to be a suspension there. [00:23:02] Speaker A: So the one thing I will say that, that he has, he seems to have going for him is in the official release from like the prosecutor's office or whoever dropped the case, they basically said that they had too much conflicting evidence about timelines. Like. Sure. And I don't want to go into details because I'll be honest, I didn't read the entire thing. I didn't read the report. But in a nutshell, what I got out of it was that supposedly when she, when, when the victim said that something happened versus when anything actually showed, bruising wise or whatever the case may be, were completely different timelines. Well, based on video evidence, it sounded. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Like there was like eyewitness evidence that at the time that she said something had happened that she wasn't, didn't, didn't have the visible bruising and stuff which again led to just the dismissal of, of the legal charges to this point. So. But again that doesn't mean that nothing happened. Right, right. [00:24:01] Speaker A: 100%. [00:24:02] Speaker B: And the NFL is, you know, I. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Mean we've, we've not apologists for, for if Quinshon Judkins laid hands on her at all. Like we're not apologists for that at all. Like he shouldn't be playing. [00:24:11] Speaker B: But, but, and, and I think we've seen this play out with other cases in the NFL where even if it feels like and looks like there's not a whole lot there. Like we've seen players get suspended. So it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him miss, you know, six games or whatever the case may be this year. [00:24:31] Speaker C: So hall, last year, did he get suspended six games? [00:24:37] Speaker A: I think it was from Ohio State. I think it was six. [00:24:39] Speaker C: Six games sounded familiar. Now, he was probably already signed. [00:24:42] Speaker A: Oh, you're the fact checker. [00:24:43] Speaker C: I, I'm just quite. I'm just kind of trying to comparing the two, if they're comparable at all, like, what happened. [00:24:49] Speaker A: I think you're right. I think it was six games. [00:24:50] Speaker C: I believe he was already signed when his issue came up. [00:24:53] Speaker B: So what, five games without pay? [00:24:56] Speaker A: Five. [00:24:56] Speaker C: Okay. [00:24:57] Speaker A: So, yeah. And again, that's another one where that ended up being thrown out as well. So. [00:25:02] Speaker B: Well, that's what I mean. So just because there's not a pending, you know, legal case at this point doesn't mean that. That he's innocent. [00:25:11] Speaker A: Look at the Sean Watson he is. All his cases got thrown out and he got suspended a long time. [00:25:15] Speaker B: Or that the NFL is not going to do something too. And, and truthfully, the NFL has almost has to because they have to continue to set the precedent that, like, this is a zero tolerance type of behavior. [00:25:27] Speaker A: Well, even with the conflicting reports, like, I mean, you read the stuff. He almost doesn't even really like, put up an argument against it. He's just kind of like, it just seems like it's like most of the stuff you read about this is like, yeah, something happened. We don't know exactly what, but something happened. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Well, we know there was, there was some kind of. There was some kind of dispute and altercation. Right. We just don't know the extent of it. So. But yeah, I guess all that to say, like, I am fully expecting there to be some kind of suspension. So at this point, the contract talks being elongated doesn't surprise me at all. [00:25:59] Speaker A: Right. But does he sign before the season starts? [00:26:04] Speaker B: I. I would guess not because it's from a negotiating standpoint, you have all the power. If you're the Browns right now, the. [00:26:11] Speaker A: Only thing you have going against you is if the NFL investigation takes a long time, you could potentially lose your rights to the player. [00:26:18] Speaker B: Yeah. But you can always try to scramble at the end of the season before everything closes down to try and get something done. If you still want to have some future with this player, you say no, but. No, I fully expect that he'll be suspended four to six games and then we'll see some kind of Contract talk conclude after that? [00:26:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I, I think his contract will get done before the season, but I agree with you on the suspension length. I think it's gonna be four to six games and we won't see him until October. October, yeah. Yeah. Not, not. You know, in that same vein, Isaiah. [00:26:53] Speaker B: Bond, literally two hours after the Judkins. [00:26:57] Speaker A: News broke, well after Isaiah Bond's news broke too, that his, his, his case got thrown out. Isaiah Bond signs a three year, $3.01 million contract with the Browns. He was once thought of as a sure first rounder this past year until he had sexual assault charges filed against him. He proceeded to go. That says that's a bad, bad autocorrect there. He proceeded to go undrafted. It says undefeated, in case anyone was wondering. But he went undrafted, not going defeated. No. Since then the charges have been thrown out, though. And actually this one I have more feelings about and we'll get into that in just a second. But Andrew Barry's quote on this is we've spent much of the last. I'm not going to read this whole thing. He basically said, we vetted this thing to the nth degree. We think that he's ready to put this stuff behind him and be a true professional moving forward. Yeah, I've heard that before with their. [00:27:51] Speaker B: Sure. [00:27:52] Speaker A: But what I will say and what I was talking about just a second ago is, is I read into this one a little bit and, and you know, I'm not one to sit there and like, I don't know what happened. That's what I'm going to say. I, I don't know what happened. So I'm not going to say that the victim is lying or anything like that. But this is one of the few cases where I've seen he immediately filed like counter charges, was like, no, this girl's been, you know, she's been trying to exploit me for months and months and I have text messages and everything else showing that she's trying to get money out of me and kind of put me on the spot here and threaten my career. So he countersued her, and I don't really know where that went, but the fact that he took those steps, that's what everybody asked Deshaun Watson to do. Right. If they're lying, why aren't you countersuing? So not to say he didn't do it. I'm just saying, to me, that's a step you take if you really, really believe you're innocent. You say, no, I'm also going to sue you. For my reputation. [00:28:56] Speaker B: Look, he had a great year last year, is a tremendous athlete. Ran I think a 4, 3, 9 at the combine and according to him, he can run much faster. [00:29:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:12] Speaker B: It's still, though, a bad look for the Browns. [00:29:15] Speaker A: 100%. Absolutely. [00:29:17] Speaker B: It is a tone deaf move to continue to try to find talent. Look, I'm all for finding talent in unexpected places like, you know, or trying to, you know, pick guys off the scrap. He'd give them a second chance. Like those type. Like you can do that to an extent. And I don't expect my NFL franchise to be full of choir boys. Like, these are young men, they have a lot of money, they have big egos, they get into trouble, they do stupid things. [00:29:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:48] Speaker B: There'S still, like, there still has to be a point where character matters, especially in a locker room, especially with a lot of young guys that you're counting on. This is just another move in a long line of, of, of like how many times are you going to let this burn you? I hope Isaiah Bond is a Hall of Fame talent and he plays 10 or 12 years here and is the next Jerry Right Price. It's, it's still just such a bad look for an organization that has put its fan base through Deshaun Watson, Mike Hall, I mean, Devin Bush this year, Quinte, Sean Judkins to immediately go that route again. [00:30:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:32] Speaker B: Like, at what point does it stop? And it's not like those moves have paid dividends to the Browns. It's not like this has worked in the past. And we've found these outrageous talents that have pretty much never worked the course of history. History for the Cleveland Browns that have made the unassailable difference in turning the franchise around. [00:30:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Let me. Maybe. [00:30:50] Speaker C: Maybe Kareem Hunt. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Maybe. Yeah. Some other ones that just come to mind. Josh Gordon stuck with him for a long time, didn't do anything for us. Again, I think he was done. That's a whole different story. That was unfair for Josh Gordon, but that was the rules at the time. Desean Watson clearly didn't work out for us. Like, like, like to your point, it just keeps happening over and over again. At what point do you say, okay, we're just going to stay away from this for a while. Like, we're not going to even entertain it. [00:31:18] Speaker B: Just, just, you know, we. You'd still be the Cleveland Browns without Isaiah. [00:31:22] Speaker A: Right. And that kind of you kind of. You kind of. That was the question I was going to ask is, is. I know we were light on wide receiver. We needed a Wide receiver. Obviously, everybody knows that we're one of the worst wide receiving rooms in the entire league. We got Jerry Judy, who's great, and behind that, we don't got Mahomes much. So we needed the help. But does this make the Browns better or worse? Because of the impact on, like, culture and things like that? You just, like, it's just. It's just the wild west with the Cleveland Browns. Like, the players probably think they can come in here and do whatever they want. You got miles going 100 miles an hour. [00:31:53] Speaker B: You got Shador going 100 miles an hour. [00:31:55] Speaker A: You Got Shador going 100 miles an hour. You got guys like Desean Watson, they have 20. However many allegations out there, like, it's just bad. I'll even add Kareem Hunt to that. Like, that's a recent player. Like, he panned out for us. Kareem Hunt was a good player, but just the thought process of bringing these guys in over and over and over and over. There's got to be little respect in the locker room for authority. [00:32:18] Speaker B: And it has to call into question the decision making of leadership. And like, Kareem Hunt, like, now we're spanning administrations, right? So, like, how much of this is topped out? Like, Jimmy's just giving him the keys to the castle. Saying, like, is that the culture that you want your franchise to be known for? And I just. I think you see other teams maybe take a gamble on a guy, but, like, I don't know, like, if Quinton gets suspended and if the NFL investigation for Isaiah Bond, like, does he gets, like, do you have multiple players suspended on your team to start the year? [00:32:55] Speaker A: Honestly, the two teams. And I don't know what this says about Ohio, but how many other teams. [00:32:59] Speaker B: Multiple players suspended for the Bengals. [00:33:01] Speaker A: That's what I was going to say. So it's like, it seems like the Bengals and the Browns. I don't know what it is about Ohio, but those are the two teams that seem to invest a lot of money in guys that get into trouble like that. [00:33:11] Speaker C: You want a second chance and you want to get paid. [00:33:13] Speaker A: Come to Ohio. [00:33:14] Speaker B: Come to Cleveland. [00:33:15] Speaker A: Come to Cleveland. [00:33:16] Speaker B: I just. It's just. It's just baffling to me that, like, at some point, like, do you just say, like, we just gotta. [00:33:25] Speaker A: For. [00:33:25] Speaker B: For publicity's sake, we have to take a pass on this one. [00:33:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:29] Speaker B: You might be a really good player, but, like, can we do this to the fan base again? [00:33:32] Speaker A: Right? Yeah, I'm with you. It's just crazy. And I don't. You Know, I don't want to talk about players getting in trouble anymore because it's kind of embarrassing, to be honest with you. [00:33:42] Speaker B: It is embarrassing. And they're doing it repeatedly to this city, in this fan base, and that's the. That's the shame of it all. [00:33:48] Speaker A: Well, that's with Isaiah Bond. Even though those things that I mentioned. And potentially, you know, something that, whatever the case, as soon as he was signed, it was like a collective eye roll from all of the Cleveland Browns fans. It was like, what are we doing here? [00:34:03] Speaker B: And what's. What's really painful is we reached a point last season with DeShawn where it bled into the entire team, where the entire team was tired of the noise, tired of putting up with a guy that had all the. The allegations and the cases and all this stuff and wasn't performing to where it literally took over the entire season. [00:34:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:27] Speaker B: And like, again, she's like, how many times can you keep doing this? And I just look at, like, again, like, if they lead the league in suspensions this year, like, that's not something you want to lead the league in. You don't. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Speak for yourself. [00:34:39] Speaker B: You don't want to lead the league in, like, hey, we're taking a second chance on guys. Like, you can. Good teams might have one guy like that that fits in and pans out and like, hey, we did a solid. We give this guy a second chance. It worked out great. There's. Who was the last super bowl team that was like, pretty much everybody on the team's a dirtbag, but, hey, we won the Super Bowl. Like, this is not a thing that happened. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Speaking of super bowl, like, the Chiefs don't have this happen every year. [00:35:05] Speaker B: Like, good organizations don't. Don't do that. [00:35:07] Speaker A: And speaking of which. Yeah, that's. That's where I was going. [00:35:10] Speaker C: Got rid of Tyreek Hill. [00:35:11] Speaker A: They knew. [00:35:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:13] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know. But let's talk about the quarterbacks. Obviously, it's still the big conversation in the. In the Browns organization here. First of all, thoughts on Dylan Gabriel in his first game. We didn't really get into it too much. I mean, we. We talked. I guess you summed it up, like I said, real nicely for us in the opening. But I mean. [00:35:29] Speaker B: I mean, I gave you my. My analogy. I think that's where that's true. [00:35:33] Speaker A: You did go with that. Yeah, I like it. [00:35:34] Speaker B: The Cars. [00:35:36] Speaker A: So let's talk about his quote, though, and we all know we're talking about. Because it blew up for. And we'll. We'll talk about if that was warranted or not. But Dylan Gabriel, after the game, was being interviewed and they asked him about how he kind of keeps his head down and stays focused. And he said, quote, there's entertainers and there's competitors, and my job is to compete. So thoughts on this, guys? Was that a shot at Shador, or was that just Dylan Gabriel honestly answering the question, talking about more so the media and how there's guys out there trying to do, you know, give hot takes versus him being in the room and actually competing to be the quarterback? [00:36:14] Speaker B: Yeah. I think DD came out who did the interview right afterwards and was like, don't, please don't read into this. Like, he was talking about the media. To me, this is. And we talked a little bit about Shador in the press conferences last week and not necessarily winning the press conference, or at least I didn't feel like he handled those to the best of his ability. I don't know what his intent was. I don't really care. What I'm more worried about is if you're the quarterback of an NFL franchise, especially a rookie, especially one with expectations around, you know, and in the midst of a quarterback competition, you need to be hyper aware about how you handle and present yourself in public. And that's just. It's just. It was just a. It was a dumb throwaway thing. But, like, you can't. You can't do that. [00:37:05] Speaker A: No. [00:37:05] Speaker B: If you're going to lead other men, you can't be flippant with your choice of words. [00:37:10] Speaker A: Okay. Even if they say they don't like, the team hears these things. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Sure, 100%. How could you not hear it? It hit social media immediately. The NFL. NFL posted it. Like, every site on planet Earth was posting that. [00:37:23] Speaker A: It was like everybody gave the same collective, like, eyebrow raised. Like, whoa. [00:37:28] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just one of those things that there was no real reason to say it. And if you want to make the point, there's better ways to do it. Choose. Choose your words more carefully and make sure you're very clear about what you're saying. You can't afford to be at this point in your career giving these, like, masked understatements and, like, letting the media run wild with it and play with it. Like, doesn't serve you in any way. [00:37:53] Speaker A: Agreed. And that actually takes me, like, quarterback talk. All roads lead back to Baker. That takes me back to Baker. The one thing that I was always kind of annoyed with him is, is how often, especially when the Browns as a team were not Playing well, he would, like, address things going on in the media. To me, it's like, you're starting. You're trying to be the starting quarterback. You're trying to lead this franchise. This. Why do you even give a. What the media say? Like, just this whole. This whole quote wasn't necessary. Like, just be like, you know, I'm just. I'm just trying to. To compete. That's it. That's. That's. That should have been the quote. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Yeah. To me, like, Baker was more antagonistic with the media. Like, it was a me versus true. [00:38:35] Speaker A: I just felt. I don't even know. This was a moment like that where it's like, I'm gonna take a moment to say, like, hey, you guys out there are causing problems. [00:38:41] Speaker B: I don't even know that it was, like, meant to be antagonistic. I think it was meant to just be, like, hey, look, I'm out here playing, trying to do my best, and, like, you guys can say whatever you want, but I don't know that it was meant to be, like, super antagonistic. So we're like. Baker almost thrived in that, though. He thrived on the contrast. [00:38:57] Speaker A: That was what kind of. [00:38:58] Speaker B: He was like, go ahead and print something negative about me because, like, then I'm going to show it up on the field. And sometimes he didn't. Sometimes he didn't. I mean, there was a cycle of, like, people talking about Baker play really well. [00:39:07] Speaker A: That meme that went around, like, yeah. [00:39:09] Speaker B: And then he would kind of fall off again. They'd say mean things any over, well. [00:39:13] Speaker A: Hey, now he's a top eight quarterback in the NFL. [00:39:14] Speaker B: So, yeah, now he's top eight in fantasy projections for the year. So, you know, we don't need that guy. [00:39:19] Speaker A: No, we want to compete for Super Bowls. [00:39:21] Speaker B: We have Dylan Gabriel. He's almost. He's almost as tall as Baker Mayfield, who was short. [00:39:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Here's something that I didn't like, though. After the game, Kevin Stefanski and I quote, dylan showed a lot of promise out there. He made some solid throws and managed the offense well. But the turnovers are something we'll need to address. Every mistake is a learning opportunity, and I'm confident he'll take this as a teachable moment. It he's got the right mindset, and with more reps, I'm excited to see how he continues to improve. Now, on the surface, not a bad quote. It's just like, okay, we're gonna keep working with him. Whatever. What I don't like about it is the week before Shador Sanders was in there and had a good showing, and you basically were like, find us. [00:39:56] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll check the tape. [00:39:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:59] Speaker B: He couldn't find a single thing to say positive about him. [00:40:01] Speaker A: Right. He named, like, four good things here. Like, what are you. It just, it. It continues to show. Like, they, I. I don't know why they have this thing against Shador, and if they don't. And it's like a front, I don't really know what the point of it is, but it seems like at every turn, they just talk up Dylan Gabriel and talk down Shador Sanders, and it just drives me down. [00:40:22] Speaker B: They've done it all off season. [00:40:23] Speaker A: Right. [00:40:24] Speaker B: I mean, go back to the, Go back to the draft, and it was so plain to see. And I know that, you know, Andrew Barry and Kevin Stefanski both, like, come out and rebutted this and been like, oh, well, you know, the timing's not always the same, but like, let's be real. When they drafted Dylan Gabriel, those guys were smiling and they were like, yeah, we got. [00:40:42] Speaker A: Oh, that was the worst. When they drafted, they were both like. [00:40:45] Speaker B: And his. And his face hit the big screen there at the draft. Both of those guys looked like they'd rather be anywhere else. [00:40:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:54] Speaker B: And. And it continued all off season, and it's permeated the entire talk track of the off season because it's like, it's. [00:41:01] Speaker A: The, the feeling is so strong that they can't hide it. [00:41:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, what. [00:41:07] Speaker C: Whatever it is that happened, they can't get over it. [00:41:09] Speaker B: They can't. [00:41:10] Speaker C: And they're stuck with them. [00:41:11] Speaker B: And, and, and they know it. And it's like, how bad was Shador in the, in the interviews? The, the. That, like, I mean, look, the whole NFL passed on you multiple times and, and the guys that are in charge here still don't like you, even though you're. You're performing well. [00:41:29] Speaker A: Like, I don't really understand. It's just mind boggling. Yeah. I don't know. [00:41:33] Speaker B: And, and especially, like, you bone me. This point last week, like, the circus and everything that everyone was expecting, like, hasn't shown up. It. It's not like Shador's got his entourage out at practice every day hooting and hollering. [00:41:45] Speaker C: Like, seems like all his teammates like him. [00:41:48] Speaker B: Like, Shador seems to have handled himself as good as he possibly could have. [00:41:53] Speaker A: Like, sure, he had a flashy entrance to his, his preseason game, like, when all like. But like, there wasn't anything insane, in my opinion. [00:42:00] Speaker B: Well, no, and it wasn't anything More than like when you know, who was it last year? When do we play San Francisco? And we brought the boombox out. Martin Emerson. Like, you know, NFL players do stuff like that, right? Like I expect that. Get hyped up for the game. Do it like be you. But I just. Other than that, like Shador really has, has done everything asked of him and, and said all the right things to the media for the most part, like tried to even if it felt disingenuous at he at least has said the right things. So I don't know. I don't know what the friction is between them. All I can hope is that like at some point Shadora is going to get the chance to play again and just like we all watched desean last year and we all knew it was bad. Like let it be undeniable that you're good, right? And like that'll. It'll take care of itself. But yeah, but yeah, I just to me again, just breaking down Dylan Shador. I just didn't think Dylan had the same necessarily command of the offense and the same poise in, in the pocket. [00:43:09] Speaker A: And let's not forget I know Carolina is not as good as the Eagles, but Carolina also played some of their starters. [00:43:15] Speaker B: Yeah, look, I think the competition level was, was about on par for, for both games and you know, I just, I just don't think he had. I don't think he had the it which is one of those things that's hard to like explain. Like it's, it's that player mentality of like do you have the instincts and the ability to, to lead and win whereas you shoulder kind of exudes that. And Dylan just, he, he looks again like a career backup kind of guy that like he's competent and stretches and I don't know that his ceiling is that high. [00:43:52] Speaker A: Right. So that's, that's the rookies though. Besides that Joe Flacco was named the starter. No surprise there. We all kind of saw that coming. Don't know if it's good for the team. We've talked about this at length previous weeks. If Joe Flacco wins you seven, eight games, that doesn't really do much for the Browns as an organization. So I'm excited to watch Joe Flacco, but I don't know that it does anything for us. [00:44:14] Speaker B: The only thing I can figure is. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Navigate the first part of the Kevin. [00:44:18] Speaker B: Stefanski and Andrew Berry know. So they've outlived the average NFL life. [00:44:24] Speaker A: Oh yeah. Especially with the. The little amount of winning of success that They've had. [00:44:30] Speaker B: Yeah. And so I think they're maybe thinking, like, hey, if Joe can get us to seven, eight wins this year, that buys us another year, and we'll deal with it then. We'll deal with whatever it is then. [00:44:41] Speaker A: Because they can all say they're not thinking about that, but they're definitely thinking about that. [00:44:44] Speaker B: They gotta be. I mean, your job. And, like, how long's. Kevin, what is this year? 7, 7, 8. Like, it's something like a minute, you. [00:44:52] Speaker A: Know, like, longest coach we've had. [00:44:54] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, that doesn't happen. And. And you know what? To their credit, the Browns credit overall. [00:45:00] Speaker A: Look, that came out wrong. Longest coach we've. [00:45:04] Speaker B: Long guy. I don't want to get overconfident about the preseason, but if this team is okay this year, if they exceed expectations and overachieve to an extreme extent, is that maybe the continuity aspect of why you keep a coach and a system around, even if they're not doing really well, per se, but we want to. [00:45:29] Speaker A: Keep stability in the organization. [00:45:33] Speaker B: And, like, it's starting to pay dividends now because you've had all these guys in these systems now for several years versus the turnover and start over new. Maybe. Maybe that's the one kind of, like, overlooked. Hey, like, silver lining is the fact that these guys have all been together in the same series with the same head coach, same leadership for long enough that it matters. [00:45:55] Speaker A: Yeah. On the field, I guess we'll see. Yeah. [00:45:58] Speaker C: I feel like that's something Haslam has addressed in the, you know, whatever the last few years that whatever every NFL owner strives for. So it's. Yeah, he's given them time, so. [00:46:09] Speaker A: Well, you know, he's listening to the headlines, too. Like, before this regime, he's like. Haslam was basically the laughing stock of the owners because it was just new coach every year, new front office every year. Like, it's just a lot. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, and that's why you put up, too, with, like, the DeShawn contract and, like, continued swings and misses on some of these guys that have questionable backgrounds, like, because you insist on the stability and. And there might be some. Some truth and some silver lining to that if this team does. Is cohesive this year and plays well. [00:46:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So we talked about the rookies, we talked about Joe being the starter. Ken Pickett looking like he's trade bait. He's going to be cut soon. One of the two. So not going to talk about him anymore unless you have something to make fun of him. [00:46:46] Speaker B: I just think. I just think he'll be tiny hands. I think he'll be QB2 going into the season. [00:46:51] Speaker A: I don't think he makes it to the season. I really don't. [00:46:53] Speaker B: I think. I think he's QB2 coming to the season. [00:46:57] Speaker A: Fair. [00:46:58] Speaker B: It's just the Brownsy thing to do. [00:47:00] Speaker A: You're right there. [00:47:01] Speaker B: It's the most Brown. [00:47:02] Speaker A: The only reason I say not is because Kevin Stefanski did actually say this week. He said something along the lines of, I really would like to keep ball four. But it's not realistic. [00:47:10] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. No, I just. It's not realistic. Which is why the Browns will do it. [00:47:14] Speaker A: That's fair. That's perfectly fair. And then to round out the quarterback room, Deshaun Watson was posting running videos. And it just made me think, like, nobody cares. Nobody cares. Like, there's a meme going around right now where it's like, hey, guys, look. Desean Watson's posting running videos. Yeah, nobody cares. It's the Jurassic Park. Like, what's the date today? [00:47:34] Speaker C: The 18th of August. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Let's never talk about Deshaun Watson again on the program. [00:47:39] Speaker C: I love it. [00:47:40] Speaker A: Let's. [00:47:40] Speaker B: Let's just. [00:47:41] Speaker A: I'm in. [00:47:41] Speaker B: We're never gonna bring his name up ever. [00:47:43] Speaker A: What if he ends up playing for him again? [00:47:45] Speaker B: We won't talk about it. We'll just skip over that. [00:47:47] Speaker A: Just. [00:47:48] Speaker C: We're gonna do like a countdown. Like day 21 of not talking about. [00:47:51] Speaker A: Does that mean you talked about him, though? [00:47:53] Speaker B: If he. If he does play again, it's not gonna be good. [00:47:56] Speaker A: We have a ticker up here on the back. Like the, like the workplace incident. Like the amount. But, like, should we actually put it. [00:48:03] Speaker B: In 18 days since we talked about Deshaun Watson? [00:48:05] Speaker C: Yeah, like that. [00:48:05] Speaker B: Order a whiteboard this week. [00:48:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm in for that. But in case you haven't had enough of us and the rest of Cleveland media talking about all the quarterbacks. The Cleveland Browns jumped on board as well, and they. They've created their own docu series about Browns quarter. The Browns quarterbacks this year called Man under center, and they released their first episode this week. [00:48:24] Speaker B: So, I mean, Hard Knocks really has changed the paradigm. [00:48:29] Speaker A: Isn't it crazy? We just talked about this before the show. Like, everybody complains about having to be on Hard Knocks, yet it seems like every NFL team this. It seems like every NFL team this year is coming up with their own show that they're putting out or their own docu series that they're putting out about part of their team. Yeah, I mean, I know the Chiefs have. What is it? The Kingdom or whatever it's called. Like the Chiefs have theirs. So it's. [00:48:51] Speaker B: I mean, we've talked about this just off air, just in general, that like documentary style television is the desire for that and the watchable, consumable content, hours of that is at an all time high. [00:49:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So sports documentaries, they're like the second highest docu. I mean, documentary platform. [00:49:06] Speaker B: Literally. They did Hard Knocks on the Browns when we were terrible and like everybody watched. Was widely watched. [00:49:12] Speaker C: Well, the Netflix says the QB series and the wide receiver. [00:49:15] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:49:16] Speaker C: And it's been maybe three or four seasons already. [00:49:18] Speaker A: Those are. Those are like produced by Peyton Manning. Those are phenomenal. [00:49:20] Speaker B: Yeah, they're really well done and people love them. So. Yeah, I think local. Local television is trying to get their nut for sure. [00:49:27] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, if you want to watch that, watch it. I'll probably check it out just so we could talk about it a little bit and just see what it's all about. If it ends up being terrible, I'm just gonna make fun of it because that seems like the Browns thing. Thing to do. Let's make a docu series. Worst docu series ever. [00:49:41] Speaker B: Do you think it's. Do you think it starts. Do you think it starts with every morning they measure Dylan Gabriel? Did you grow an inch? Five foot eight and a quarter. [00:49:48] Speaker C: They're all on the door frame. [00:49:51] Speaker A: I hope so. [00:49:52] Speaker B: Every morning he wakes up. [00:49:53] Speaker A: I would watch it. That for sure. Like, I would definitely. Yeah. [00:49:56] Speaker B: And then they cut to measuring Kenny Picket's hands. What's smaller? Dylan Gabriel or Kenny Picket? Sands. [00:50:04] Speaker A: Yeah, it's close. It's close. All right, enough about the quarterbacks. Let's talk about the Rams game this week. And by talking about it, I mean, let's just say it's supposed to be a dress rehearsal. They might get a quarter. I'm guessing they'll probably only get like a series or two. Who's your. Who's your guys player to watch this week now that you know that the starters are in play for. At least some of the starters are in play for a series or two. Kenny, we'll start with. [00:50:32] Speaker B: I'm going to go with Kevin Stefanski. [00:50:36] Speaker A: Oh, fair. But since you said that. Actually, I forgot something earlier. I wanted to ask you guys. Did you see Kevin Stefanski? We'll come back to you. Did you see Kevin Stefanski when Sirianni ice the kicker and he was so mad that they iced the kicker in a preseason game before the half. And I actually, I thought it was hilarious because I wanted to jump through the TV and say, kevin Stefanski, this is why he's a Super bowl winning coach and you're not. [00:51:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:01] Speaker A: Because Sirianni realized that Kevin was kind of giving him some attitude on the sideline. It was. And I mean, it looked like he got kind of heated and started yelling stuff at him. [00:51:11] Speaker B: Yeah, look, I mean, those are the. The reasons I love the preseason. Like that kind of junk. [00:51:16] Speaker A: Sorry, go on with your Kevin. You reminded me. And I had, you know, me, I have to get it out before I forget it again. So. [00:51:23] Speaker B: No, I'm. I'm interested to see Kevin Stefanski. I mean, obviously it's still preseason, so you expect things to be pretty vanilla. But I'm interested to see see Joe under center in like a dress rehearsal type scenario, see what we're calling, see what's coming out. And interested to see Kevin Stefancy transition this team now. Which I think it was really good. It was smart that they named Joe the starter this week to get it out of the way because it's been kind of this, like, hanging over everyone's head, even though we all know it, Quarterback competition, competition, whatever. But to start to build some cohesion going into the season so the guys know who their leader is, guys know who to look to and so to just kind of see that all come together. And Kevin's the head of that. Right. So I'm really curious to read between the lines on what he says before the game, what he says after the game, and how things go with the first teamers out there in a dress rehearsal setting. [00:52:20] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, Bone. [00:52:23] Speaker C: I'll go defense. We kind of touched on the D line and then the secondary, but I think our linebackers are still. Still kind of up in the air. [00:52:31] Speaker A: So. [00:52:31] Speaker C: Carson. Schwechinger. [00:52:32] Speaker A: Schweisinger. [00:52:33] Speaker C: Sweeging Schweisinger. I'll nail that last name like Schwezy. But it's eventually. [00:52:39] Speaker B: I've also heard sweating. So. [00:52:40] Speaker C: Yeah. And if. Am I. Am I'm mistaken and is he going to be calling the defense? I don't know. I feel like I've heard that, but I don't know if he is or not. [00:52:48] Speaker A: Well, we talked about it last week. That's what the. That's what the talk around Cleveland media was. What he. He might get the green dot, but I don't think they've actually announced. Okay. [00:52:54] Speaker C: So I think that'd be interesting to see if maybe this game he is doing that in his time in, you know, whatever how many. However many series he gets. But yeah, so far he's been around the football a lot. So, yeah. Is he stepping up and is he going to fill hopefully that role of J. Okay this year? [00:53:09] Speaker A: So fair. [00:53:10] Speaker B: According to AI, Schweisinger is expected to wear the green dot. [00:53:15] Speaker A: Nice. [00:53:16] Speaker B: It's kind of a weird thing to type into Ed to the Google is just, will Carson Schwaizinger wear the green dot? But I was like, yeah, yeah, all over. [00:53:24] Speaker A: Actually. That's like one of my favorite parts about AI so far is when you Google things, you get. You get much better answers than you used to to. Because it brings everything together and sums it up for you. [00:53:32] Speaker B: Sometimes. Sometimes it's way wrong, though. [00:53:34] Speaker A: That's true. You got to look out for that. You got to be at least a little smart. My player to watch is Joe Flago. I just want to see like, you know, he's. He's getting kind of old man. Still going to sling it. How many interceptions we get? I don't know. We'll see. It's going to be a roller coaster with him, but it's going to be a good roller coaster. You guys want to take a quick trip around the NFL? I mean, real quick. Okay, let's do it. All right. Let's do around the NFL. All right. Like I said, the trip around the NFL is quick. This week, some guy saw some announcer called somebody a beaner this week. Are you allowed to say that? [00:54:13] Speaker B: I don't think so. [00:54:16] Speaker C: He was just like making a play on his last name though, right? [00:54:19] Speaker A: Yeah, he was. It wasn't. It wasn't anything racist. That's why I said it just now. [00:54:23] Speaker C: I think you can say it in that context. [00:54:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:54:25] Speaker B: Yeah. So it was the, the Colts game and they have. I want to say his name is Jacob Bean and Riley Leonard from Notre Dame kind of battling it out to be quarterback number three. They've got Richardson and Danny Dimes on the roster, so those two are 1 and 2. Anyway, this bean kid got in the game and the Colts, Colts play by play guy, he went. He went full. [00:54:55] Speaker A: He went full beaner. [00:54:56] Speaker B: He went full racial slur on him. I don't know. I clearly wasn't intentionally. [00:55:01] Speaker A: You can't say that. [00:55:03] Speaker B: A racial slur. Like, he wasn't. He wasn't making the point because it was like in that next conversation, he was just kind of making wordplay on his name. [00:55:12] Speaker A: But it's like your last name's Thund and we call you Thunder. [00:55:15] Speaker B: He did indeed say beaner. [00:55:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:18] Speaker B: On Television, just not a good look. He kissed a couple of times. [00:55:22] Speaker A: It's one of those words you should just avoid and just general. [00:55:24] Speaker B: Yeah. And, like, we know he didn't mean. [00:55:27] Speaker A: Anything by it, but just. [00:55:28] Speaker B: You should avoid that the context wasn't. Wasn't intended to be racist at all. He was. He was just trying to be fun, I think. But, yeah, I don't think you can say that anymore. I think the. I think the. The connotation. [00:55:44] Speaker A: The culture probably thrilled. They were like, yes, you just have. [00:55:48] Speaker C: To avoid that kind of thing these days. [00:55:49] Speaker B: It's just because everybody's so hypersensitive to it anyway, and. And now it's become an epidemic. [00:55:54] Speaker C: Was national media talk this? [00:55:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. It's, like, all over social media. [00:55:58] Speaker A: That's why I brought it up. [00:55:59] Speaker D: Sure. [00:56:00] Speaker B: Rick Venturi, I think, is the guy's name. They said that he's not going to face any kind of, like, penalties or disciplinary actions. [00:56:07] Speaker A: Like, I was just, like, talking about the guy. [00:56:10] Speaker C: Well, that's nice. At least they're putting it in context and they're actually, like, giving this guy a break. [00:56:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:15] Speaker C: I feel like four years ago he would have been shunned, you know? [00:56:18] Speaker B: Right. Yeah. At the height of, like, the Me too and stuff going on, I just can't say stuff like that anymore. I mean, it's kind of like where we joke around and we, like, add. Hold everything like you're Ronnie Hole. Like. Yeah, but, like, Hole's not bad yet. Adding. [00:56:35] Speaker A: Maybe one day adding her to. Nobody. Nobody at home knows what the hell you're talking about right now. But yeah, yeah, so. [00:56:44] Speaker B: But now it's become an epidemic because also Greg Olson was talking to the GM of the Bears, and he called him his good friend Beaner as well as. Well, his name is Brad Bradley Bean, I think. [00:56:57] Speaker A: Can't just. [00:56:59] Speaker B: And you can't say that. So now Everybody in the NFL's. [00:57:02] Speaker A: Hey, hey, y'. All don't say that. [00:57:04] Speaker B: Making racial statements. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Yeah, stop saying that, guys. [00:57:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's not. Not a good look at all. [00:57:10] Speaker A: Look, here's. [00:57:11] Speaker B: It was a little bit funny. [00:57:12] Speaker A: Bottom line. It was. It was pretty funny because it was like, like, I don't think that means what you think it means, but, yeah, it's good. I. I had to talk about it because everybody. Everybody's talking about it. But, yeah, guys, you know. You know what I want to do right now? [00:57:26] Speaker B: Well, I want to add. [00:57:27] Speaker A: Oh, we're doing more. We got to talk about this some more. [00:57:30] Speaker B: No, not about the. Not about the Bean thing. But Ashton Genty, I think it's seven carries for 35 yards. [00:57:40] Speaker A: Is he not on bus watch anymore? [00:57:41] Speaker B: I think he's. He's officially off. [00:57:42] Speaker A: He's back. [00:57:43] Speaker E: He's back. [00:57:44] Speaker A: He had 35 yards in a game, and he's off bust watch. [00:57:48] Speaker B: He's officially off bus watch. So there's. There's that. [00:57:51] Speaker A: People are wild, man. But, yeah, you guys, you know what. [00:57:54] Speaker B: I think it's time for also, he was running guys over, so I don't. [00:57:59] Speaker A: Care what you have to say anymore. It's time for a Browns backers interview. [00:58:02] Speaker B: It is. [00:58:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:04] Speaker B: Is that starting already? [00:58:05] Speaker A: We're starting right now. [00:58:06] Speaker B: It's happening right now. Powered by Riverside SF. [00:58:21] Speaker A: All right, so we're back with another edition of the Browns backers interview series. This week, we got Browns backers chapter of the year, Mile High Brownsbackers. Cliff, how are you? [00:58:32] Speaker D: Ronnie, Kenny, how you guys doing, man? [00:58:35] Speaker A: Doing well. Doing well. [00:58:37] Speaker B: Miss you, Cliff. [00:58:38] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been a minute. [00:58:39] Speaker D: I miss you. I miss you guys. It has been a minute and stuff since. Since the. The night of the. The draft. [00:58:45] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And what. I mean, the draft didn't turn out anything like we thought it would. We. We covered the first. You know, maybe. Maybe next year or the year after. We got to start just covering every round because that's where the fireworks happen. We stuck with the first round. It was terrible. [00:59:01] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:59:02] Speaker B: I'm not sure. [00:59:03] Speaker D: I'm not sure how terrible it was. I think we got a guy. We got a guy that'll be part of the Browns for the next 10 years. [00:59:09] Speaker A: I just meant it wasn't that exciting for us. [00:59:11] Speaker B: Okay. No, it wasn't. [00:59:13] Speaker D: It wasn't Baker Mayfield territory. [00:59:15] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no. So. But. No. How. How does it feel to be the reigning defending, undisputed chapter of the year? [00:59:26] Speaker D: It has been a fantastic ride so far, and I can't wait to keep displaying that right there. [00:59:34] Speaker A: Can you bring that to the camera real quick? [00:59:36] Speaker D: Oh, my God. This thing's pretty heavy, but I'll. I'll do my best. Here we go. [00:59:41] Speaker A: Cliff, you're not as young as you used to be. [00:59:42] Speaker B: Don't hurt yourself. Old. [00:59:44] Speaker D: There we go. There. [00:59:46] Speaker A: I. [00:59:46] Speaker D: And I apologize for all the reflection and stuff, but that's the chapter of the year. Belts. [00:59:51] Speaker A: That's pretty dope. [00:59:52] Speaker D: Yeah. That doesn't suck. That's for sure. [00:59:54] Speaker B: Cliff, do you. Do you take that off? Do you take that and put it on at night? Just wear it around your house. [01:00:00] Speaker D: I just got that in case this past Weekend. [01:00:03] Speaker B: So. [01:00:03] Speaker A: So before that. [01:00:04] Speaker B: Yes, with it every night. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Now. [01:00:07] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:00:09] Speaker A: You know, we've talked about power moves on this show. He would just get out of the shower and strap that thing up and. [01:00:13] Speaker B: Walk around like that's built. [01:00:20] Speaker A: And now everybody has a picture of Cliff that they wish they didn't. [01:00:23] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I apologize. [01:00:28] Speaker A: No, but so, you know, being chapter of the year, I understand. You know, you guys. You guys got recognized for that. [01:00:35] Speaker E: What. [01:00:35] Speaker A: What came along with it? Didn't you guys have something with a. You got a party thrown for you? [01:00:39] Speaker D: Yeah, we got a party thrown for us that happened on February 22nd. The Browns sent us. Let's see, we had Bridget Lindor, the. The young lady that host everything. Yes, Linton. Yes, thank Lindor. [01:00:54] Speaker A: That was. That was Francisco Lindor. Yeah. [01:00:56] Speaker B: Cleveland stream of consciousness. [01:00:58] Speaker A: Did she marry Francisco Lindor? Is that what happened? [01:01:00] Speaker B: She probably could. [01:01:04] Speaker D: She could marry anybody, but. And then they. Joe Shelbert, former linebacker for the Browns, he lives now in Castle Rock, Colorado. He came on. On that day as well. We had. We were able to invite a. The Browns fed us, got an opportunity to meet Joe. We talked and people got things and it was just a fantastic night and, you know, a great way to celebrate a night in February here. Here at a Mile High. [01:01:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:34] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. And so speaking of events, too, I understand you guys had another event this past weekend. Tell us about that. [01:01:40] Speaker D: It was set the stage. We had the opportunity to do some redecorating at. At Stoney's and stuff and redecorating up. Redecorating. Yes. And so we put the new banner up or your banner brown or the Burning River Sportscast banner is now hung at Stoney's on the wall where a brownsbackers worldwide banner used to. Used to fly it. Now it's now Burning River Sportscast there. [01:02:11] Speaker A: And that is because we are the official podcast of the Mile High Brownsbackers. [01:02:18] Speaker B: Landmark. [01:02:19] Speaker D: Yes, it is now a landmark as well. You're also Pikes Peak Browns backers, barrels backers of North Jersey, Naples Browns backers, Annapolis Browns backers, and the Kent Browns backers. [01:02:31] Speaker A: You're hired. You know, I wasn't going to list them all, but you did. So I. [01:02:37] Speaker B: The official spokesperson of the Burning River Sportscast. [01:02:39] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I mean, and that is something that we started doing. We want to definitely make sure you guys are taken care of. Of. So, yeah, you know, you got, you got. You got one of our banners. It's out there, it's flying and. And you get to point to it and tell Everybody to come listen. [01:02:53] Speaker B: We appreciate that for us. [01:02:55] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, I, I appreciate it as well. And you guys are, you know, I, I, I look forward to, to moving forward and making things happen for, for all of us and stuff. It's gonna, it's gonna be fantastic. I think we've got, we've got some great ideas and things are gonna happen and stuff, for sure. [01:03:10] Speaker A: And, and along with our banner. Your banner. The chapter of the year banner went up, right? And new logo and, and everything. [01:03:16] Speaker D: Yes, new brand new logo. We did something completely different this year with the logo. We threw up some new flags that we, we had produced by some folks back there in Ohio and stuff. It's, we're, we're doing what we can to, you know, we're not going to live on our laurels as chapter of the year. We're just going to make things better and more exciting. And a better reason for Browns fans. [01:03:41] Speaker A: Now is the moment you capitalize pedal to the metal. [01:03:44] Speaker D: Oh, my God, we're in pre. The, the pre preseason. That doesn't suck. You know, this, this preseason does not suck. And there's a. This preseason is so much more exciting than it was last preseason. Last preseason sucked because we knew who our starter was going to be. And this year we know who our starter is going to be, and we've got other folks that are going to be behind him when that opportunity presents itself. [01:04:13] Speaker A: I will add, we knew who our starter was going to be, and we weren't happy about it. Yeah. So. [01:04:17] Speaker D: I know, I know you gu. Weren't, but I am. [01:04:20] Speaker A: No, no, not this last year. Last year. [01:04:23] Speaker D: Oh, last year I knew who our starter was gonna be. Come on, guys. You know. [01:04:29] Speaker B: Cliff, I gotta, I gotta ask about the, the new logo here. So, so what's, what's with the pig? [01:04:34] Speaker D: The pig. Take a look below the pig and what's happening below there. Notice a prism from a particular great rock and roll classic called Dark side the Moon. And so the pig on top of that is he. That's pink. And we named our beer that we get from Sandlot Brewery every year serve exclusively at Stoney's for the Mile High Brown Smackers. And Stoney, we named it Cleveland rocks at 5280. And that pig and that prism represents since every Pink Floyd concert since 1974, that pig has flown over Cleveland Municipal Stadium and flown over here at Mile High Stadium where I was able to see both of those fly over. So we are looking at that rock and roll theme, but it doesn't include. [01:05:32] Speaker A: A guitar I gotcha. Okay. It's like a subtle nod to the rock and roll theme. [01:05:37] Speaker D: Yes, a subtle. [01:05:39] Speaker A: I gotta tell you, you telling this whole story. And you know how I know you're old? Yeah, like, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about the entire time. Wow. [01:05:52] Speaker D: Ronnie, you need to. [01:05:53] Speaker B: You. [01:05:53] Speaker D: You need to, you know, you need to just listen to. It's called Spotify. Just, you know, or, you know, listen to something. [01:06:00] Speaker A: I mean, I could actually send you some Pink Floyd, but I don't go that deep where I know, like, what his flag. Like, I don't. [01:06:06] Speaker B: Let me, Let me recap this interview. Congrats on chapter of the year. Cliff, you're so old. [01:06:15] Speaker A: Hey, you know, it was opportunity and. [01:06:18] Speaker D: Longevity and wisdom that got us the chapter of the year. [01:06:24] Speaker B: Yeah, see, I love it. [01:06:25] Speaker A: There's a reason. But. No, Cliff, let's. Let's change gears here a little bit. With the season upon us, we are very, very close to the regular season finally starting. What do you think's going to happen with our Brownies this year? [01:06:41] Speaker D: Holy cow. Joe Flacco is our starter. That's all there is to it. And if we can come out, I. If we can come out three and three with Flacco as our starter, then by God, we're going to. We ride Flaco until he gets hurt, until he is just throwing too many damn interceptions. But I have. I see a possibility that we could come out and start three and three. [01:07:09] Speaker A: One thing's for certain, I can guarantee you that one of those two things that you just mentioned is going to happen. Either he's going to throw too many interceptions or he's going to get hurt. Because I cannot remember the last time we didn't start at least two quarterbacks in a season. So true. [01:07:22] Speaker D: No, I. Well, you know, like I said, six games and who knows, you know, where we go after six games and stuff. You give us six games, Joe, and let's see where we go after from there. [01:07:33] Speaker B: And then obviously, Cliff, after, you know, the story of the off season, obviously the. Centered around the quarterbacks. You know, at some point, Joe will, you know, ride off into the sunset. Which of the two rookies do you have, you know, either taking over, kind of making himself the leader and, you know, who do you. I guess. Who do you want to see take that mantle? [01:07:55] Speaker D: Well, duh, I've got, you know, I'm in Colorado, so, you know, we would love to see Shador Sanders be in the, you know, the eventual starters here that, you know, to. To grab What, a couple hundred thousand. You know, Colorado fans, as Browns fans here, you know, your bar would, your. [01:08:13] Speaker A: Bar would be just happen if he was his quarterback. [01:08:17] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Oh. And that's what we experienced that, you know, the, the first preseason game. 75 or 65 fans showed up for our first preseason game and stuff because Shador Stern. So, you know, that would make a huge difference. Difference. But I also, you know, I've also got a little bit of. For Gabriel. Dylan or Dylan Gabriel. Yeah. [01:08:37] Speaker A: You love him so much you don't know his name. [01:08:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:41] Speaker D: Hey, I'm going last name first. Last name. [01:08:43] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's official. You're going official. Yeah. [01:08:46] Speaker B: It's hard because he's got one of those names that could like be two last names. [01:08:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:08:49] Speaker D: Yes. Oh, yeah. [01:08:50] Speaker A: Oh, dude's got two first names. [01:08:52] Speaker D: He didn't. I like the way he, he's got some decent pocket presence and how he can step side to side and get past the, you know, the guy that's five, eleven and a half. How, you know, on the other side of the ball hold his hands up, how he can get past him and stuff. So I, I, we're not in a horrible position right now, and I'm. You, I'm confident that the, the franchise is going to get its stuff together and we're going to move forward. [01:09:23] Speaker A: Your lips to God's ears, man. [01:09:25] Speaker B: You're feeling optimistic. [01:09:26] Speaker A: So let me, Let me just. This is the last question I have for you, and I didn't prepare you for this, so good luck. [01:09:33] Speaker D: Okay. [01:09:34] Speaker A: Just pretend you have a crystal ball and you're sitting there at the end of, end of the season, looking back in one word, describe The Cleveland Browns 2025 season. [01:09:45] Speaker D: Fun. [01:09:47] Speaker A: All right, that'll work. That was an easy way out, Cliff. But I accept that. I agree with you. I think it's going be. To be a lot of fun. [01:09:54] Speaker D: So I think this season is going to be so much more fun than last year. Last year, it. I hope that we are looking at a. Here I am going old again. That 1979 season before the, you know, before Cyber Bowl 81 and stuff, where we show, you know, we finished 7 and 9. 9 and 7. Just right out of the playoffs and stuff. That was a fun season. And I think we're looking at another one of those. [01:10:21] Speaker A: Only over a decade before I was born, but. [01:10:23] Speaker D: Right. Yeah, I know. You're so, you're, you're so young. [01:10:27] Speaker A: I have to keep, we have to keep going that child. No, I agree with you, Cliff. I think it's going to be a lot of fun this season, and it's easy to say you're going to have fun when you're chapter of the year, you know? [01:10:37] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah, look, I want to double click on this one more time just for anyone. Cliff is one of the hardest working guys in the business. [01:10:46] Speaker A: Absolutely. [01:10:46] Speaker B: Got the chance to know obviously, a lot of the Browns backers, but, you know, well deserved last year, Cliff. You guys did an awesome, awesome job, and looking forward to see what you guys put together this year. We know a lot of hard work, sweat, and tears. You know, being a Browns fan goes into everything that you guys do, and, you know, we appreciate you and everything you guys do out there. Awesome job. [01:11:05] Speaker D: I appreciate it, fellas. And I look forward to working with you guys all year long and being a part of this and watching you guys all season long. [01:11:12] Speaker A: Absolutely. Thanks. Thanks, Cliff. We appreciate it. [01:11:15] Speaker D: All right, Take care, fellas. [01:11:17] Speaker A: Go Browns. [01:11:27] Speaker B: Powered by Riverside fm. [01:11:36] Speaker A: Good talking to Cliff. [01:11:36] Speaker B: Ladies and gentlemen, Cliff Coulson. [01:11:38] Speaker A: Yeah, he's. I seared into my. I. I'm the one that. That brought the image to light of him wearing his belt around the house when he gets out of the shower. Now it's like. You mean. [01:11:49] Speaker B: You mean Cliff wearing the belt? Dong out Y. I didn't quite put. [01:11:53] Speaker A: It that way, but you said it. You said it. Now it's even worse. It's even worse. [01:11:58] Speaker B: I like how you brought it up that it was gonna impact his daughter's wedding. [01:12:03] Speaker A: I did it on air, but now everybody knows that. I asked him about it afterwards, but, you know, whatever. [01:12:12] Speaker B: Behind the curtain. [01:12:12] Speaker A: Yeah, behind the curtain. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Guys, there's David and Joku autograph Jersey giveaway. [01:12:20] Speaker B: There is. [01:12:21] Speaker A: That's a good one. [01:12:22] Speaker B: I haven't heard about this. [01:12:23] Speaker A: It's on our social media. Finally. I finally put it up. Tell them how we get entered here. [01:12:28] Speaker B: You can be entered. Well, apparently, you can be entered all kinds of ways. Initially, this was a YouTube thing, but I think. I think we've changed that. [01:12:34] Speaker A: Well, we've opened this one up because we have another giveaway for a Miles Garrett item to do later this year. So for this. This giveaway, we actually wanted to open up to all of our social. [01:12:42] Speaker B: It's open to everyone. [01:12:43] Speaker A: Yeah, you can enter. There's still some incentives on being a YouTube subscriber. YouTube subscribers. Subscribers get 25 bonus entries into the giveaway, but basically go to our social media. Check it out. Whatever social media you're on, you have to like the post, you have to be following us on that social media. You have to be following prime time sports and framing on that social media. And you need to tag a couple friends so that they know about it. [01:13:08] Speaker B: I know this sounds like like made up numbers, like you get, oh, 25 bonus entries. We do have a software program that computes all the entries based on the actual activity on social media. [01:13:21] Speaker A: And to be fair, I actually spend quite way more time than I should to go through and kind of manually make sure that they're adding up correctly. [01:13:28] Speaker B: So yeah, so just, just so you're aware, it's not like we're just like, hey, get free points. [01:13:33] Speaker A: No, like if you're a YouTube subscriber. [01:13:35] Speaker B: There is an actual calculation that takes place. [01:13:37] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:38] Speaker B: For these drawings. [01:13:39] Speaker A: Yeah. So make sure you're subscribed on YouTube so you can get those 25 bonuses entries. But bare minimum, go to our social medias, interact with this, with the post, make sure you're sharing it out there, tagging your friends, doing all those things. [01:13:52] Speaker B: So and, and we do actually send these out. [01:13:54] Speaker A: We do. [01:13:54] Speaker B: There's, there's a lot of that's been going around on social media where there's a lot of these pages and shows and things that do giveaways and then never send anything out. We, we actually do follow through on sending you whatever we promise we do. [01:14:06] Speaker A: Actually, I don't know if we did. We end up posting some of those. We posted some of these. [01:14:10] Speaker B: Well, what's weird is we've asked people once they receive them to like send us things back. And, and oftentimes after last year we. [01:14:17] Speaker A: Didn'T get anything back. [01:14:18] Speaker B: Really nice things. We don't get anything back from them. [01:14:20] Speaker A: They're like, I think the first year that we gave something we got the ball. I think the first year we did an interview and I don't know if we posted it or not but it's, it's. [01:14:28] Speaker B: I don't remember. But the point is we do actually send them out. Follow through on sending these out. [01:14:31] Speaker A: They're real people. That is actually one other thing you can. Funny, fun fact. I could tell when there's bots that try and enter these things and we sift those out and we. Yeah. [01:14:41] Speaker B: So software is an amazing thing. [01:14:43] Speaker A: Yeah. So get entered to win the David and Joku Jersey. Oh boy. You know what it's time for? [01:14:52] Speaker B: I bet you're going to tell us. [01:14:54] Speaker A: It's time for the return of our defensive correspondent, Big John Hughes. [01:14:59] Speaker D: Oh ye. [01:15:08] Speaker B: Powered by Riverside FM. [01:15:15] Speaker A: All right guys. Again. So we're here with defensive correspondent John Hughes. John, how are you? [01:15:20] Speaker E: Pretty good. How we doing guys? [01:15:22] Speaker A: Good, good. How you been? How's the off season been treating you? [01:15:25] Speaker E: That's been pretty good, man. I've stayed busy. Got a lot of kids activities now. I've been doing a lot of stuff with the Browns throughout the summer. Doing like legends football camps and different and things. So been staying busy, staying active for sure. [01:15:36] Speaker A: Is that like a full time job now? I know that they've kind of turned. They've really embraced the like alumni or legends or whatever they. They call it. Is that like a full time job for you now? [01:15:45] Speaker E: I wouldn't say a full time job. I get up there when I can. They send different like opportunities come up and do camps and different things. So it's been pretty cool. Definitely picked up the past couple years for sure. [01:15:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:15:57] Speaker B: Did you win any flag football games this summer? [01:16:00] Speaker E: Well, I was more the coach man. But we, we definitely have fun doing the drills and getting after it. It was actually cool. We Canton for the. We had a clinic and they were doing the. The flag football championships on the other fields on the Canton fields was pretty cool. So got to check that out a little bit. [01:16:17] Speaker A: Nice. Yeah. [01:16:17] Speaker B: Flag football is really growing. [01:16:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, and good thing too. I. I think it helps more kids. [01:16:22] Speaker E: Oh yeah, most definitely. My daughter flag football season on Sunday. [01:16:29] Speaker B: Well, yeah, because Ohio high school made it an official sport now. [01:16:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I think so. [01:16:32] Speaker B: Girls flag football football, isn't it? [01:16:34] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:16:36] Speaker B: Yep. [01:16:36] Speaker A: Do you guys have it? Is it available down at the high school? Like I don't know what high schools have joined so far. So you guys have it at your high school? Yeah. [01:16:44] Speaker E: So there's a few schools that are opened up for. For women's flag for girls flag and I actually got my. My daughter in co ed flag football. So she did track this year and then she's in flag football. She's 4 years old, so even started early, she's. [01:16:58] Speaker A: She's beating up on all the little boys. She's like, I'm way better at flag football than you pretty much. [01:17:04] Speaker E: We'll see how it goes. She had a first practicing game on Sunday, so we'll see. We've been practicing a little bit though. [01:17:11] Speaker B: That's awesome. [01:17:12] Speaker A: Nice. Nice. So in addition to being our defensive correspondent this year, big news. John Hughes is joining the King of the north competition this year. So are you excited about this? [01:17:25] Speaker E: Oh yeah, most definitely, man. I mean hearing about it from last year and knowing how exciting it was going back and Forth pretty excited about do into this year. [01:17:33] Speaker A: You do know the loser gets punished, right? [01:17:35] Speaker E: Oh, yes, I. I have heard about the punishment for sure. [01:17:39] Speaker A: So just to recap, because I know Kenny loves when we recap the punishments. The first year, he had a gross of eggs. 144 eggs thrown at him in the muni lot before a preseason game. The second year, he had his entire head and beard shaved off. [01:17:55] Speaker B: Straight skim. [01:17:56] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then this past season, we actually haven't done it yet because what we had chosen for the punishment was a little tough. Still working on it. I know. I have floated some ideas to you, John. I don't know. We'll talk. We'll see if you're down for that. But do you have any ideas for punishments for this season? We're going to decide before the season starts, but do you have any ideas? [01:18:23] Speaker E: I know we talked about a few, man. I. I still think the one that we talked about before was, like, probably one of the better ones, just because it was. It was hard watching that season anyway when it was going on live. So I would say watching the 115 and the 116 season again, every single. [01:18:42] Speaker A: Game, you originally only told me one of them, and now you're telling me both. [01:18:48] Speaker E: I figured out a little spice in that. The one of 15 in there, too. [01:18:51] Speaker A: Oh, man. So is this, like a binge watch? Like, we have to force them to sit down and watch the entire thing? [01:18:56] Speaker E: Exactly. I'm gonna keep it rolling. [01:18:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Minus commercials. And we have to, like, come up with, like, fun ways that they can get out of certain, like, specific hours. Like, you could skip a game if you do this. Are you, like, real embarrassing? [01:19:07] Speaker E: Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. [01:19:09] Speaker A: Nice. [01:19:10] Speaker B: John, can you get us access to the all22 so we can just watch it without the commentary? [01:19:15] Speaker E: I'll work on it. [01:19:19] Speaker A: So I guess with that idea and that as a potential punishment, Kenny, how would you feel about doing this? Because you've never not lost. [01:19:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, that sounds terrible. That might be one of the worst things that's ever happened to me. [01:19:36] Speaker A: But. No, we're excited to have you, John. It's gonna be a lot of fun. We look forward to everybody just kind of talking trash and poking fun at each other all season long. Because usually, at least how it's gone for the most part is by, like, midway through the season. Somebody's way behind and just trying to. [01:19:50] Speaker E: Somebody. [01:19:50] Speaker B: I'm always. [01:19:52] Speaker A: I didn't even want to name you this time. You're the one that said it. Yeah, that's somebody's Kenny. But, yeah, we're excited about it and we're glad to have you on as part of King of the North. And speaking of which, our official T shirt for this year. We'll have to send you one. John is. It's just. It's just a T shirt that says bone. It says bone and Thunder and jams and Big John. That's our. That's our shirt for this year. [01:20:20] Speaker D: Year. [01:20:20] Speaker A: So that's far. I like that. Yeah. Yeah. So we'll have to get you one of those. But back to your original duties as defensive correspondence. Do you have any thoughts on the defense this year and specifically that defensive front? [01:20:37] Speaker E: Yeah, definitely excited about what Mason Graham's been doing and so far in this preseason, definitely getting to see him a lot more, you know, being a rookie, getting a lot more time these first couple presets, preseason games, and overall, just the defense looking. Looking solid. I know, you know, we haven't seen a lot of the starters, you know, maybe a little bit in the last game, but not so much yet. But from what we've seen, it's been looking great. Really excited about the season coming up. You know, it's. Preseason's always kind of hard to tell which. What you're going to expect in the season. You know, there's been years where we've gone undefeated in the preseason. Right. And then, you know, it looks different. [01:21:11] Speaker A: Defeated in the regular season. That was the 0 and 16 season, wasn't it? [01:21:14] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. So it's. It'll be interesting to see, man, even with the quarterback play. Right. I know that's been the huge topic throughout training camp. Both quarterbacks looked, you know, pretty good for the most part. You know, obviously, they named Joe the starter going into the season, which I feel like we all pretty much kind of knew. You know, it was just interesting to hear the back and forth with the other guys, but I think it's gonna be interesting watching the rest of this preseason play play out. [01:21:40] Speaker A: Absolutely. [01:21:41] Speaker B: So I would say both quarterbacks afforded themselves pretty well in the preseason games. Do you have in your mind you have a guy that's, you know, 2 to, you know, number 2 or 2A. [01:21:52] Speaker A: We're just throwing Kenny Pickett out here because we just assume he's not going to be with the team. So that's why Kenny says, yeah, yeah. [01:22:00] Speaker E: I would say Shador, man. Just because he was able to get on the board and throw a couple touchdowns. Their stats pretty much looked even. Other than the Pick, you know, as far as yards and. And completion. So. [01:22:14] Speaker A: For sure. Yeah. [01:22:16] Speaker B: And. [01:22:16] Speaker A: And, yeah, I mean, I'm excited about the fact that they both actually showed fairly well. Yeah. Is encouraging. [01:22:24] Speaker B: Yeah, they weren't bad. [01:22:25] Speaker A: Yeah. I thought some. I thought somebody. I didn't know who it was going to be, but I thought somebody was going to come out and just play terribly, and they did well. [01:22:31] Speaker E: And then you think about rookies in general, right? Like, being under the lights, you know, live for the first time against another team. Like, I remember my first preseason game, just that first series just being a blur. [01:22:41] Speaker B: Right. [01:22:41] Speaker E: We played the Lions in Detroit, and I just remember, you know, everything flying, and I actually started that game and it was. Who was the quarterback? I think it was Matt Stafford. Sapper was still there. Yeah. [01:22:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:22:52] Speaker E: So it was. It was really cool for me to go against, like, Ones, you know, in a sense, in my first preseason game. I feel like they do a little bit different shifts now, but Ones would play like the first few. At least the first quarter, like the first couple series of first quarter in that first preseason game. So. [01:23:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Nice. And I saw your boy Juwan Briggs is starting to show up a little bit, too. [01:23:16] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, most definitely. Bearcat getting some action for sure. Man, he's been looking pretty good in the preseason. [01:23:20] Speaker A: He has. He has. I think this past game actually had like, four or five tackles. I was like, dang, this guy's getting. Oh, yeah. And so with that being said, I mean, I know obviously you said the defense looks. Is. Is. Is looking like it's going to be pretty good. There's obviously the quarterback competition behind Joe Flacco. What are your thoughts on the team this season? How do you think this is going to go, the 2025 campaign? [01:23:47] Speaker E: I feel like it's kind of the same answer a little bit what I had last year, but it really depends on how we look in the division. Right. You win the division, you know, you can figure it out. Right. But I feel like we're going to have a lot of competition, especially the beginning of that season. I know the first couple of games we're going against some contenders, so it's. It'll be interesting to see how we play. I feel like the beginning of the season will tell. Obviously, you know, what's going to happen throughout the rest of the season, how we get to these first games. [01:24:15] Speaker B: Does Aaron Rodgers in. [01:24:17] Speaker E: In. [01:24:17] Speaker B: In Pittsburgh scare you at all? [01:24:20] Speaker E: No, not really. Maybe if you're talking about, like, Prime. Prime Aaron, but I don't know. Not really. [01:24:28] Speaker A: Just over there smoking. Hallo, usa. [01:24:31] Speaker E: I hear more, more about that. St. [01:24:36] Speaker A: John's like, I'm gonna get me. [01:24:37] Speaker E: Some that I play with that are actually taking some of those trips and, and everything. And it's. It's pretty interesting. [01:24:45] Speaker A: Every time they tell you a story, you're like, maybe you're onto something. [01:24:48] Speaker B: John's got the load down. [01:24:49] Speaker A: It sounds like John's like, I'm. I'm gonna take my wife out there, though. I'm. We're gonna. It's gonna be a trip for the both of us. Yeah. [01:24:56] Speaker B: Oh, man. [01:24:59] Speaker A: No, yeah, I think you're right. I think the, the beginning of the season is obviously the hardest stretch of the entire season is right out the gate rounds. So it's going to kind of set the tone and we'll kind of see where things take us. [01:25:10] Speaker E: Definitely. [01:25:11] Speaker B: Hey, John. So obviously Miles got paid in the off season. You think he's like, you know, when that happens on a team, does that guy, like, you know, bring in catered lunch to, like, the defensive line like, all during training camp, like, do. Do fun things like that? [01:25:24] Speaker E: I guess it depends on the guy. Some, Some guys can be a little bit more selfish, I guess, in a sense, when it comes to, you know, sharing their, Their, Their. Their money. That got paid a little bit, you know, But I, I can see Miles being one of those guys that, you know, gives back for sure. [01:25:42] Speaker B: Definitely. [01:25:42] Speaker E: Definitely broke the bank, though, man. I was. It was really nice whenever you get to see a defensive lineman, especially Brown's defensive lineman get broke off like that, it's pretty cool. [01:25:51] Speaker A: Well, T.J. watt got paid immediately after that, just a little bit more. So who got the better deal? [01:25:55] Speaker E: Cleveland, right? [01:25:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [01:25:59] Speaker B: Who. [01:25:59] Speaker A: Who got the better deal, though, Cleveland or Pittsburgh? [01:26:02] Speaker E: Oh, Cleveland, just for sure. [01:26:05] Speaker B: Obviously. [01:26:05] Speaker A: Yeah. That wasn't a trap question at all. No, I'm just kidding, John. All right, John, So if you, if you kind of. We're gonna. We're gonna imagine that you have a crystal ball here. Fast forward to the end of the 2025 Brown season, and you look back, use one word to describe that season. [01:26:29] Speaker E: Magical. [01:26:30] Speaker A: Oh, I like it. Yeah, I like it. [01:26:33] Speaker E: I feel like, you know, it's. It's always one of those. If you think, you know, it's going to be negative going into the season, you're probably right. [01:26:41] Speaker D: Right. [01:26:41] Speaker A: It's. [01:26:42] Speaker E: It's one of those. It's leaving it up there, leaving out for the guys to make the plays and figure it out. Right. No expectations, really, but I feel like we're going to have something happen during the season. We're going to look back kind of like we did during that playoff year when we went. [01:26:57] Speaker B: So it does feel a little bit like that, right? Like, like everybody's kind of sleeping on the Browns. You don't expect a whole lot. They do surprise some people. [01:27:05] Speaker E: Yeah, most definitely. [01:27:06] Speaker A: This is a rhetorical question, John. Have you ever played on some bad teams? And I asked that question. I asked that question because I was going to say you were the guy on the team that always came in like, come on, guys, we got this. No, whole team's like, bro, we suck. Come on, guys. [01:27:26] Speaker E: I know we're down by touchdowns, man. We got, we got time. [01:27:30] Speaker A: Yeah, you were that guy. That's fine. Everybody, every team needs that guy. [01:27:33] Speaker B: You gotta have that guy. [01:27:36] Speaker A: Now, last question for you here, John. I, I know that kind of in your life after football, you, you co founded or you're a co owner of King Culture down there where, where you live. So tell us a little bit about how your business is going. [01:27:50] Speaker E: Yeah, man, it's been going great. We've been open for six years now. Started in 2019. We actually have two locations. One in Gahanna, where we started, then another location in Easton. [01:28:01] Speaker A: Barbershop. I should have said that. It's barbershop. Yes. [01:28:05] Speaker E: We call it a studio because we have cosmetologists and barbers. We have like a little hybrid model. Yeah. And, and really we're very diverse in our, in our heritage. Haircuts. [01:28:13] Speaker A: Right. [01:28:13] Speaker E: A lot of places you go, they cater to one style, texture of hair. We cater to all. Like, all are welcome at our shop. And our barbers are well groomed and cutting multiple grades of hair. So it's, it's pretty nice place, you know, for families, father and son trip, you know what I mean? Come to get your haircut. So cover across the board. [01:28:32] Speaker A: Absolutely. King Culture, everybody. Check it out. [01:28:34] Speaker B: That's why, that's why Big John always looks so fresh. [01:28:36] Speaker A: I mean, look at him. [01:28:37] Speaker B: Try, man, try. [01:28:38] Speaker A: Every time he's on the show, I'm like, could this guy get any more handsome? [01:28:42] Speaker B: Life after football's been. Been good to you, John? [01:28:44] Speaker E: Yeah, Trying to make it good. [01:28:47] Speaker A: Well, listen, John, it's been great having you on. Obviously, it's always, always a blast having you. One last. Just, just food for thought as we sign off here. Since you're part of King of the north now, just remember, it's like if a dinosaur is chasing you, you just can't be the slowest. [01:29:05] Speaker B: Outrun the slowest. Guy. [01:29:07] Speaker A: Yeah. And we all know that if we're looking around the table here, Ken, Kenny's the slowest. So. [01:29:13] Speaker B: John, when's the last time you ran a 40? [01:29:16] Speaker E: Oh, a 40. I was just outside running with my kids earlier, if that counts. [01:29:21] Speaker A: We gotta set that competition up. Kenny versus John Hughes in the 40. [01:29:24] Speaker B: He's in the 40. [01:29:26] Speaker A: That's. That's not a punishment. That's just something I want to do. [01:29:29] Speaker E: It's funny, man. I. I was doing workouts for teams, like, towards the end of my career, and I was. I'll. I'll leave the team out, but. But I had a workout with this team not too far away from Cleveland, and they were asking me to run a 40. I'm literally in my seventh year. I played. I have six years of film. You know what I mean? And I'm like, if you guys need me to run a 40, you need to probably look at the rest of the defense. [01:29:53] Speaker B: You know what I mean? [01:29:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:29:56] Speaker E: God didn't like that much. And needless to say, I didn't make that team. [01:29:59] Speaker A: So John Hughes is standing on business. He's like, I ain't running a 40. Yeah. [01:30:03] Speaker B: I did that already. I paid my dues. [01:30:05] Speaker A: Yeah. But, yeah. John, hey, again, wonderful to have you on. We appreciate having you back, and we look forward to having you on a lot this season, especially as you're part of King of the north, so. [01:30:15] Speaker E: Yep, appreciate it, fellas. [01:30:23] Speaker B: Powered by Riverside fm. [01:30:31] Speaker A: Man, good talking to John, huh? [01:30:34] Speaker B: I love talking to John. [01:30:36] Speaker A: That's why I'm excited that he's part of the show now. And I. I know. Listen, listen. Before we get to the end of the show here, we kind of hinted at it in that segment a little bit. I. I started to talk to John about it, but we hadn't finalized it yet, so we didn't actually talk about it. But I'm going to talk about it right now. [01:30:49] Speaker B: This is an amendment. [01:30:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:30:51] Speaker B: To last year's. [01:30:52] Speaker A: We have officially decided Kenny's punishment for King the North will be the newest official member of the show. And former Cleveland Browns defensive tackle big John Hughes has agreed to put on the pads one more time. Light Kenny. Thunder up. [01:31:07] Speaker C: Light him up. [01:31:08] Speaker A: That's right. The punishment for losing this past season will be Kenny getting his block knocked off by big John Hughes. He's gonna. They're gonna put pads on. John's gonna hit him. Senior hit style. Kenny, are you excited? [01:31:21] Speaker B: For those of you unfamiliar with senior senior hit day, that's right of passage for a long time. For high school football teams that on like the last day of practice, your upperclassmen, your seniors that are leaving the team after four years of, you know, hard, long service to the organization would get to pick an underclassman, usually one of the smallest, weakest guys on the team, anybody they want or, or somebody they don't like or somebody they just. [01:31:46] Speaker A: Had it or somebody that they do really like and they're just like, yeah, yeah. [01:31:49] Speaker B: And basically the. [01:31:51] Speaker A: My, my brother in law hit me on senior hit day. [01:31:54] Speaker B: So yeah, I got, I got hit by. Yeah. [01:31:57] Speaker A: How many times you get hit? [01:31:58] Speaker B: I only got hit by by one guy, but it was personal. [01:32:01] Speaker C: I got hit once and it was personal because I was playing his position. He was senior and I was a sophomore. [01:32:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I got, I got hit three times. [01:32:08] Speaker B: Mine was the same, same way because I was like kind of eating their reps on both football and track. And it was, it was personal. [01:32:15] Speaker A: Mine was, I got hit three times and two of them were personal because it was underclassmen playing for an upperclassman. And then the last one was my brother in law. [01:32:29] Speaker B: And he could fly. And he could, he could fly. He was fast and strong, really built. He took it to me. But anyway, for those of you are unfamiliar, we basically the underclassmen are. Whoever gets picked as the, the victim in this scenario stands arms out, isn't allowed to move, just has to be stationary target, put a bunch of pads behind them for someone to just absolutely clobber. [01:32:54] Speaker A: Yeah. To be fair, to be fair, we were always instructed as the guy getting hit, they're like, hey, make sure you like start to fall back when they get close to you so that it doesn't like not full impact here. [01:33:05] Speaker B: I mean there's ways you can not kill yourself. That's, that's. [01:33:08] Speaker A: This may sound like hazing. [01:33:11] Speaker B: It, it absolutely was a form of hazing. It was in good fun. Like you were full pads. So it wasn't intended to actually kill anyone, but it's been outlawed unfortunately in most places at this point because of other hazing rituals that have gone awry. But we're bringing it back at least one more time. [01:33:29] Speaker A: Bring it back. [01:33:30] Speaker B: And in this case I'm going to get senior hit day style tackled by a former NFL defensive tackle. [01:33:38] Speaker A: Are you excited about it? [01:33:39] Speaker B: I'm excited you might actually die. Full disclosure. So like I was the one as we were kind of thinking about the, the punishment for this year and, and trying to work out the logistics on our previous ideas was the one that. [01:33:51] Speaker A: Suggested this and he's a glutton for punishment. [01:33:54] Speaker B: And I kind of. And I kind of thought at the time, like, it probably wouldn't happen and that if it did happen that John would kind of like ease into it and take it a little easy on me. But, like, we just got the phone with John and like, he's excited. [01:34:09] Speaker C: Yeah, he's. [01:34:09] Speaker A: He was just talking shit to you, man. [01:34:11] Speaker B: He was literally talking. [01:34:12] Speaker A: He actually said, I might kill you. [01:34:14] Speaker B: Yeah. So. So the plan is for him to hit me three times so that we can get good video footage of this. And John was like, are you sure you want me to hit you multiple times? [01:34:25] Speaker A: Because, like, we should probably start with one and see how you feel. [01:34:28] Speaker B: Sounds like I don't know if you ever played in the NFL before, but, like, this is going to be different than when you played high school football. Because I'm a grown ass man. [01:34:37] Speaker A: He's like, you do know I was an NFL defensive lineman, right? [01:34:41] Speaker B: Like, I used to eat quarterbacks for lunch. [01:34:43] Speaker A: Like, it was my job to be one of the biggest guys, biggest, strongest guys in the field. [01:34:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, his job was to be mean and dismantle other people. [01:34:50] Speaker A: I'm pretty excited about, like, I don't. Of all the punishments, I'm most excited about this one. [01:34:55] Speaker C: This is really exciting. [01:34:56] Speaker B: Yeah. So I'm hoping I don't get like a serious concussion, but we'll talk this. [01:35:00] Speaker A: Up all season long too. I think we're shooting for like October range, so I don't. We don't have an actual date picked out yet, but we're going to be talking this up until it happens. So. [01:35:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's going to be. [01:35:09] Speaker A: Kenny's just going to. Every week is his butthole is going to get a little bit smaller. [01:35:14] Speaker B: Look, I'm optimistic that I'm going to make it out of this thing and be able to walk as long as. [01:35:19] Speaker C: You don't fly over the padding. [01:35:22] Speaker B: Well, what I'm most worried about is Big John just landing on me. Like the impact, the initial impact. [01:35:27] Speaker A: I hope he does. That'll be the best part. [01:35:29] Speaker B: The initial impact is one thing. I'm more worried about just an NFL lineman landing on me with his full body weight. You know, the type of tackle that they've outlawed in the NFL now you can't land on quarterbacks. [01:35:41] Speaker A: He's like, that's how I learned how to do it. [01:35:43] Speaker B: Like, this is. This is probably not going to end well for me. [01:35:46] Speaker A: Basically what we're saying is it's over for you. You'll never lose again. Because you'll be dead. [01:35:51] Speaker B: I'm not going to lose this year, that's for sure. [01:35:53] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what you said last year and the year before and the year before. [01:35:57] Speaker B: I'm going to beat John Hughes and then I'm going to tackle him next year. [01:36:02] Speaker A: That doesn't have the same impact. Literally. Literally not the same impact. All right, guys, that'll listen. Be sure to check out our gear. Www.thetappenmedia.com Back Shop like I said, a bunch of new stuff in there, but that'll do it for for us. Kenny, what can we expect next week? [01:36:17] Speaker B: Oh, next week we will recap the final preseason game and all things as they are progressing. You know, cover any roster cuts. Browns news we will play our version of the schedule game next week. So get excited. [01:36:32] Speaker A: Everybody does it when the schedule comes out. We waited until right before the season. [01:36:35] Speaker B: Yes. So we're going to make all of our initial predictions and picks for the season next week. So you guys look forward to that. And we will turn the page proverbially. Proverb. [01:36:47] Speaker A: Proverb. [01:36:48] Speaker B: I can't talk. [01:36:49] Speaker A: Exactly. [01:36:49] Speaker B: We will turn the page. We will transition with the Browns from preseason to regular season football. [01:36:56] Speaker A: Yeah, some real meaningful football. [01:38:50] Speaker A: So fall off, you lose. [01:38:52] Speaker B: Don't fall off a cruise ship. [01:38:53] Speaker A: That sounds like a part of the problem. I didn't think we'd be getting into Brad Pitts. [01:39:20] Speaker B: I can't even say I didn't think we'd be getting into Brad Pitt's ass. [01:39:24] Speaker A: Yeah, didn't think we'd get in there. [01:39:26] Speaker B: We didn't talk a lot of analingus on this show. [01:39:29] Speaker A: So put your right foot in and take your right foot out. Then put your right foot in and shut the hell up. Because it's not time for the hokey pokey. It's time for the Burning River Sports cast. [01:39:39] Speaker B: Motorboat. [01:39:40] Speaker A: You play the motorboat. [01:40:07] Speaker A: The other one. The finger. The finger eating food. Fingers. Oh, my God. My God. My ass is full of. He's everywhere. [01:40:16] Speaker C: Yes. Call them cats. [01:40:36] Speaker A: Should we start a meat podcast? Like, like, like, like the meat pod. Slow roasted. [01:40:45] Speaker B: The leads are weak. [01:40:47] Speaker A: Leads are weak. [01:40:48] Speaker D: Leads are weak. [01:40:50] Speaker B: You're weak. Then we should send a team of oil core drillers a la Armageddon to Mars to have them access the newly discovered reservoirs of water traps 7 to 12 miles under the surface that, when released, will cover the entirety of everything on the planet, less than a mile high. [01:41:00] Speaker A: All I do is win, win, win, no matter what. Erroneous. Erroneous both counts. I mean, when I. Last year, when I won and went home, you know, my wife's pants hit the ground. [01:41:10] Speaker B: Wow. [01:41:10] Speaker A: But damn. [01:41:11] Speaker B: I'm sorry I hijacked your segment for a second to do some good podcasting. [01:41:16] Speaker A: You know why, mister? [01:41:18] Speaker D: Because you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight. I drove an $80,000 BMW. [01:41:23] Speaker A: That's my name. I think we've officially lost all of our more conservative viewers, so don't think they want to listen any longer. [01:41:32] Speaker C: It's Mother Nature. [01:41:33] Speaker A: I live my life a quarter mile at a time. [01:41:36] Speaker B: Where's logo girl when you need her? [01:41:37] Speaker A: I desperately want to make love to cheese. [01:41:39] Speaker B: We need cheese girl now. [01:41:41] Speaker A: Down goes Anderson. [01:41:43] Speaker B: Down goes Anderson. Who's canceled now? Who's canceled now? [01:41:48] Speaker A: Probably me. [01:41:48] Speaker B: You making it for the fat people. [01:41:51] Speaker A: I'm not just you. [01:41:53] Speaker B: We're a whole race, basically. [01:41:56] Speaker A: No way. You're just straight. Just finger bang their salad. [01:42:00] Speaker E: What? [01:42:02] Speaker C: You first get shocked and then you get the shocker. [01:42:07] Speaker B: You like to see almost naked. [01:42:09] Speaker A: That's cool, man. [01:42:09] Speaker B: Whatever. [01:42:10] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no. Most people, like, they're driving along and they're like, in between meals, like, I'm a little hungry. I'm gonna have a granola bar. And it's like, I need a cheeseburger. Are you not entertained?
