Show Notes

The universe has glitched, because the Cleveland Browns are 4-2 and leading the AFC North after an ugly 13-10 win over Baltimore. In this unscripted episode, Kenny Thunder faces tech humiliation after a software upgrade deletes his entire week of notes right before showtime—proving he is absolutely nothing without a script. The crew reviews Deshaun Watson looking awful for three and a half quarters before remembering how to play football in the final minutes and whether or not this formula is sustainable. They also welcome back Craig from the Middle Tennessee Brownsbackers ahead of the Nashville takeover. Craig and the boys get into the minutiae and Craig says the quiet part out loud when he drops a financial bomb: if Watson is still on the roster by March 13, 2027 the Browns owe him an extra $200 million guaranteed.

Episode Highlights:

  • Winner Winner: The guys announce Josh (Nard_Dogg16) as the signed Bernie Kosar jersey winner and get a live tour of his man cave, mini-fridge pop stash included.
  • Reverse Halloween: Hotline favorite Matt from Nashville roasts Watson for playing "reverse Halloween"—handing out sacks like candy—before diagnosing the entire roster with collective ADHD. Meanwhile, Happy Bob calls in to scream about Jaleel McLaughlin and gloat about the Browns' winning record. Oh, and Menachem called in too.
  • King of the North Desk-Pounding: Ronnie Jams is suffocating in last place at 8-12. Is desperation starting to kick in?
  • ⚔️ Week 7 Titans Preview: Kenny completely wings the preview of a struggling Cam Ward, while Bone promises a win if the defense holds Tennessee under 75 rushing yards.

All this and so much more and we break it all down for you right here on the Burning River Sportscast!

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Typing media. [00:00:22] Kenny Thunder: It's time. Time for the Burning River Sportscast. And guys, I gotta be real honest here. Right before the show started, my. I had a software failure. I lost my notes for today, so I got nothing. I got no cold open. I got no introductions. So here. Here we go. We'll break it all down for you. Next on the Burning River Sportscast. [00:00:47] Speaker A: Baker was her favorite. [00:00:49] Speaker C: Then he left. [00:00:49] Speaker A: Then Chub, then he left. [00:00:51] Ronnie Jams: Then in Joku, then he left. [00:00:53] Speaker A: And Miles. [00:00:54] Ronnie Jams: It gets tough. Yeah, yeah. [00:00:56] Kenny Thunder: Life of a Browns fan. [00:00:57] Speaker A: Maybe your mama don't dance, but we were after Andre Schmidt hit the game winner. [00:01:03] Kenny Thunder: They reminded of those dancing bear videos. [00:01:06] Ronnie Jams: Not me. That was not what I was thinking. But that's weird. [00:01:09] Kenny Thunder: I think Bobby could be in those. [00:01:12] Speaker A: You guys mocked me. Well, I shouldn't say mocked. You laughed at me when I said the Browns would have a winning record this season. I know there's a long way to go, but things are looking good. [00:01:23] Ronnie Jams: I still laugh in your face. [00:01:27] Speaker A: You guys get a little lazy. The madman theory of history. Richard Nixon in Vietnam. You know, this guy's so crazy, we don't know what they're going to do. [00:01:34] Ronnie Jams: Bone. [00:01:35] Speaker E: Jerry Springer. [00:01:37] Kenny Thunder: Nice Bones in on the game. [00:01:40] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:40] Speaker F: Jerry. [00:01:41] Kenny Thunder: Judy, former governor of California. [00:01:44] Speaker F: Are you guys pumped? [00:01:45] Speaker A: Man? [00:01:45] Speaker F: 4 and 2 atop of the division. And in that 4 and 2, we got wins over the Ravens and the Steelers. [00:01:53] Speaker C: No, the Tennessee Titans are not good. They are actually ass. Their quarterback tells you that? He's asked all the time. [00:01:58] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it's not hard. It's not hard at all unless your name is desean Watson. Get him the ball. [00:02:02] Kenny Thunder: It's not hard at all. Just like Ronnie James. [00:02:04] Ronnie Jams: That's true. I'm not hard at all. [00:02:06] Kenny Thunder: Right, foreign. Welcome into the Burning River Sportscast, presented by the fine folks at Tapping Media. I'm Kenny Thunder and without notes. Today I'm joined by Red Hot Ronnie Jams and everyone's favorite, the Big Bone Man. So with that, I guess we'll go straight to Red Hot. [00:02:26] Ronnie Jams: Where can I take it back? I love this open because you're not. You're not making fun of me. You're not telling terrible dad jokes to Bone. This is fantastic. [00:02:35] Kenny Thunder: Where can our listeners find the podcast? [00:02:37] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, you guys will learn real quick that Kenny is nothing without his notes. So you think he's real clever and he makes funny stuff up? No, it takes him an entire week to do it. [00:02:47] Speaker A: Every week. [00:02:49] Ronnie Jams: You can find our podcast wherever we get your podcast. We're talking Apple Podcast, Spotify, stitcher, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora Radio podcast, Castro Good Pots, we're an Unreal football podcast [00:02:57] Kenny Thunder: and so many more. The announcement of the winner of our autograph Bernie Kar jersey giveaway. The Browns brief division roundup. A quick trip around the NFL. Another entry in our brownsbackers interview series. We got a repeat offender this week. The week seven preview, King of the north and oh, so much more. So, Kenny, I'll, I'll go ahead and join you here. I just, I won't come up with anything. I'll make it look like we don't have anything. [00:03:46] Kenny Thunder: It's gonna be the worst show in [00:03:47] Ronnie Jams: the history of the Burning River. I don't want to leave you hanging, so I'm not gonna write anything here. And I'm just gonna say let's get things started with the Burning river news. [00:03:54] Kenny Thunder: Story of the week. [00:04:06] Ronnie Jams: All right, so this week of the week is Jalen hurts. Have you guys. I mean, I think by the time this airs, everybody's pretty much heard the story. Right? [00:04:15] Kenny Thunder: Blood clots. [00:04:16] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So long story short, what happened was they were in London when they, they realized when he got diagnosed with a blood clot in his calf. Right. So all along the team saying, oh, it's a superficial blood clot in his calf. Nothing to worry about. We'll get it taken care of. So they put him on a pressurized flight, transatlantic flight that's like 10 hours long or whatever it is. Send him back to Philadelphia to get checked out. Because everybody knows that when you have blood clots, the best thing to do is to go into a pressurized cabin at 30,000ft and fly for 10 hours. [00:04:53] Kenny Thunder: Jump into an airplane. That's usually how I get rid of my blood clots. [00:04:56] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Is it not? [00:04:57] Speaker E: Call it life flight for nothing. [00:04:59] Ronnie Jams: Mr. James See, bone knows. So, yeah. So they send him back. He gets checked out all the. All in the meantime, they're trying to clear him to play for this past Sunday's game. [00:05:11] Kenny Thunder: Well, when the news first broke that they were like, he may or may not miss one week, but he'll should be back. [00:05:17] Ronnie Jams: But I'm saying behind the scenes, all the reports are that they were actively trying to clear him, first thought he [00:05:21] Kenny Thunder: was going to play. [00:05:22] Ronnie Jams: So meanwhile, over the weekend, they finally get the report back as far as, like, what, what the findings were. Multiple pulmonary emboli. Because that blood clot that was in his calf while he was flying overseas in a pressurized vessel at 30, 000ft for 10 hours or so kind of came loose. It got, it got shook loose or whatever, you know, whatever phrase you want to use to. But it moved in his body. It, it migrated in his body up to his lungs, and now he's got multiple blood clots in his lungs out for the season. [00:06:01] Kenny Thunder: And that's incredibly serious. [00:06:02] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Like, to the point where, again, I say they were trying to clear him to play, and if they would have been successful before they got those final results back, like, he could get hit and potentially die. Like, bad things could have happened. [00:06:16] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I mean, it'll be really interesting now to see. [00:06:18] Ronnie Jams: I mean, bad things did happen, but bad things, worse things could have happened. [00:06:22] Kenny Thunder: It'd be really interesting to see what happens now. I mean, obviously he'll have access to the best care to try and get this resolved. But, I mean, I know people personally that have had similar issues that once they're put on blood thinners and certain medications or had procedures that they weren't able to even partake in contact sports after the fact. So, I mean, huge problem for Philadelphia. [00:06:49] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. And on top of this, I know we talked about it. I don't know if we ever talked about it on air, but we definitely talked about it off air. This comes on the heels of David Bell, who everybody here should, you know, all Cleveland Browns fans should know the name because he was a receiver here, had high expectations coming out of Penn State a few years. I, I, I coined the nickname the Venus Fly Trap because he caught everything coming out of Penn State. [00:07:14] Kenny Thunder: I was gonna say for, for no [00:07:15] Ronnie Jams: reason at all, or that, but I called him the Venus Fly Trap. [00:07:21] Kenny Thunder: You were the only one. [00:07:22] Ronnie Jams: Just shut your mouth over there. Where's your notes? That's what I thought. [00:07:25] Kenny Thunder: I don't have any notes. [00:07:27] Ronnie Jams: But he kind of fizzled out and nobody really knew why. He, he went on injured reserve or, [00:07:32] Kenny Thunder: or it was only like 25. [00:07:34] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And then he kind of never came back. [00:07:37] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [00:07:38] Ronnie Jams: And we didn't at the time, you didn't get the whole story. Come to find out after the fact, he just kind of opened up about it recently and I believe he's suing the team, the team doctors and suing everybody. Suing everybody. Because what happened was on the recommendations from team doctors, if I'm getting this correct, he had abdominal, serious abdominal surgery and it basically went bad is kind of what happened. And more or less I'm trying to give you the short end of this, like just, just the, the condensed version of the story, but it turns out it may not have even been necessary, that he might not have even needed it. So basically lost his entire career over poor medical advice. Well, there was some team doctor, some [00:08:27] Kenny Thunder: kind of complication during the procedure to where they nicked an artery or something and he required emergency life saving treatment. [00:08:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And so I guess these go hand in hand to me because, you know, we, the NFL can sit here and talk about player safety and everything else that they want, but I think this all just speaks to this win at all costs mentality in the NFL. Right. Like you got, they're trying to rush Jalen Hurts back onto the field, flying him across the ocean while he has blood clots to try and rush him back on the field. And then the same thing with David Bell recommending a surgery that he may or may not need in order to get him on the field as quickly as possible. And for a league that preaches player safety above all else, it just seems like if it's going to affect the bottom line though, they got to get the guy out and playing well. [00:09:19] Kenny Thunder: Right. I mean, look, we've talked about this a lot with desean Watson, right? Like if you basically get a free pass, if you can throw a football, if it means the team could win, not much else is a priority for any of these organizations. They're willing to win at all costs. [00:09:35] Ronnie Jams: And whether it's so to what you're saying, whether it's looking the other way on serious, serious allegations. Allegations and just honestly, like moral situations. [00:09:49] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:09:49] Kenny Thunder: Character doesn't matter. Health of the player doesn't matter. At the end of the day, what fills the pocketbook and what, what keeps the coffers full in the NFL front office. I mean, that's, that's basically what I take away from this story, is that, you know, it's the ugly side of business. And this is very much a business now more so than ever. [00:10:08] Ronnie Jams: But I think it speaks to the play and all of it goes hand in hand. But I think it speaks to every player is a number, no matter what the name on the back of the jersey is. And I'm not saying that's my point of view or your point of view or any of us here, but that's how the M. Or, I'm sorry, the NFL views it because Jalen hurts a big name, but it doesn't matter. [00:10:32] Kenny Thunder: Well, if your last name is Bell, that number is $300 million that he's suing for, so. [00:10:37] Ronnie Jams: Yep. Which honestly is like, you know, I don't think he would have made that in his career, but who's to say that he didn't develop into the next best receiver and land a few big, big contracts? [00:10:48] Kenny Thunder: Well, I think when you see a number. Endorsement deals, I think when you see a number like that, I think maybe the anticipation from your legal counsel is that they will settle with you for a much smaller one. That's still significant. But either way, I mean, it's. It's a bad look for the league and league positions. It's a bad look for the Eagles especially, and continues to be a bad look for the Browns that we keep trotting out. This guy that the NFL had to discipline over inappropriate sexual misconduct. [00:11:19] Ronnie Jams: Well, we got to win, and somehow [00:11:21] Kenny Thunder: he puts together, we are winning. So I guess all is forgiven. [00:11:25] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Yeah. Bone, you forgive him yet? [00:11:27] Speaker E: No, sir. [00:11:28] Ronnie Jams: Oh, all right. Well, all it's forgiven, except for with the Burning river sportscast, apparently. But, yeah, I mean, we went all over the place with injuries and. And legal situations and whatever. But I. I think the overall topic here is just the fact that as much as they want to tell you that they put players first and they care about people and whatever else the NFL wants to make money, remember that [00:11:49] Kenny Thunder: every time you see one of those head condoms, that's. [00:11:52] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. So. Which we've discussed on our show at length, that they don't even work. But anyways, with that, let's go ahead and get into the Bernie Kozar autograph jersey giveaway. All right, guys. Yes, for the fourth year in a row, we gave away some autographed Browns memorabilia. And this one was a big one, The Bernie Kozar autographed jersey. Can I hold that up? Hold that up. We didn't give away Bernie Kozar's jersey, but it was a Bernie Kozar jersey signed by Bernie. [00:12:17] Kenny Thunder: We tried to give away Bernie Kozar, but all we could get was his jersey. [00:12:20] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So there were plenty of ways to enter even more ways during bonus entries. Thank you to everyone who signed up. And without further ado, the winner of the Bernie Kozar autograph jersey giveaway is. NARDARD Dog 16, aka Josh. And to talk about this, let's bring in Nard Dog himself. Josh, how are you today? I'm good, fellas. [00:12:45] Speaker A: How are you guys doing? [00:12:46] Ronnie Jams: Doing great. Doing great. Happy we were able to give something away. And I see the man cave back there, so I'm glad we're adding to the collection. That's going to a good home. [00:12:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I do want. [00:12:57] Speaker A: Want the full view of it all. [00:12:59] Ronnie Jams: Oh, nice. Yeah. Give us a quick, quick 360 here. [00:13:02] Kenny Thunder: It's like MTV Cribs. [00:13:04] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, Nice. [00:13:07] Speaker A: There's all pop in that. In that mini fridge also. [00:13:10] Speaker C: Nothing else. [00:13:11] Ronnie Jams: Nice. [00:13:16] Speaker A: Might have to crack one of those open here in a minute. If the tribe keeps going the way it is. [00:13:20] Ronnie Jams: Let's not. Let's not talk about it. But no, listen, we. We appreciate you participating. We're happy that you won. So tell us a little bit about yourself. How'd you become a Browns fan? [00:13:34] Speaker A: I. I grew up. My dad was a Browns fan from the time I was 7. I remember the old school necklaces with the dog bones on them. [00:13:46] Speaker F: I remember me and my brother on [00:13:48] Speaker A: Sundays, we'd have them on and be taking bites out of them and go to my uncle's and watch the games every single Sunday with everyone and just stuck with it since then. [00:13:59] Ronnie Jams: Nice. Kind of dragged into it. [00:14:02] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:14:03] Speaker C: Yes. Born into it. [00:14:04] Speaker A: Correct. [00:14:05] Ronnie Jams: Nice. And that's kind of how most of us get here. I mean, you don't really. Not a lot of people choose this, but here we are [00:14:12] Speaker A: too far in now, too, so. [00:14:15] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:14:15] Kenny Thunder: Right. [00:14:16] Ronnie Jams: And I saw in your profile picture, it looks like you had a picture of the family at a game, so it's kind of a family thing. [00:14:23] Speaker F: Yes. [00:14:23] Ronnie Jams: How is it sharing that love of the Browns with the whole entire family? [00:14:28] Speaker A: My kids enjoy watching them and rooting for them. They haven't been too thrilled the last couple years with Baker was her favorite. Then he left, then Chubb, then he left, then in Joku, then he left. And Miles. [00:14:44] Ronnie Jams: It gets tough. Yeah. [00:14:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:46] Kenny Thunder: Life of a Browns fan. [00:14:47] Ronnie Jams: Do you get. You probably get the jersey insurance on all the. Every time you buy jersey. [00:14:51] Speaker A: I quit buying the jerseys about two years ago. [00:14:55] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that's a. [00:14:55] Kenny Thunder: That's a. That's a tough lesson to learn. [00:14:59] Speaker C: Yeah, we got it. [00:15:00] Speaker A: We got some good young players, so hopefully they stick around and they can. [00:15:03] Ronnie Jams: My sons can root for them for many years. [00:15:07] Kenny Thunder: The good news is this jersey here never goes out of style. [00:15:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:10] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [00:15:12] Ronnie Jams: Well, that's that's why you only buy legends, I guess. You know, it's Bernie Kar, Thomas, Jim Brown. Like, those ones are all gonna stand the test of time. Now, listen, you are getting the Birdie Kozar jersey. So is. Do you have a spot picked out in that man cave yet? [00:15:27] Speaker A: I do. I have. I have a Bernie Fathead right there. [00:15:31] Ronnie Jams: Nice, Nice. [00:15:33] Speaker A: I got Denzel Ward and Clay Matthews autographed. [00:15:37] Ronnie Jams: There's another one. Clay Matthews and Denzel Ward's a safe one, too. That's never going out of style. [00:15:41] Speaker F: Yeah, it'll go right over there with. [00:15:43] Kenny Thunder: With those guys. [00:15:45] Ronnie Jams: Nice. Yes. And then real quick, you know, which is why you're on, obviously. We're all big Browns fans, so just a couple quick thoughts on the team. What do you. What do you think? You know, we're four and two right now. Are they legitimate contenders or pretenders? We got to know [00:16:02] Speaker A: if Watson could play better than just good in the fourth quarter, I think they could potentially keep winning games and have a chance to win the division, but unfortunately, he hasn't done anything till the fourth quarter. Every game. [00:16:20] Ronnie Jams: Luck will run out sooner or later. You're telling us that's not sustainable? [00:16:25] Speaker A: I mean, I think it could be our defense is good enough that they can keep us in games when you, you know, go down 10, nothing right away yesterday and don't give up anything the rest of the game. [00:16:37] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it's pretty good. [00:16:38] Speaker C: True. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Although I know didn't have Lamar, but that's a fair. [00:16:45] Kenny Thunder: Well, they've got a big road matchup this weekend against Tennessee, against the Titans. How do you see this thing playing? You got a score prediction? [00:16:53] Speaker A: I would say Browns 21, Tennessee 13. [00:17:00] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that seems to be the. Seems to be the trend, right? That's about. That's about where I see everybody picking it. So I like it. I hope we do end up at 5 and 2. I mean, that's the first time in a very long time we're going to be able to say that. So that'd be amazing. But no, listen, hey, we'd love to stay on and chat with you, but we wanted to bring you on for a minute, make sure that everyone knew that you were the winner. Get your face on the. On the show. Get your voice on the show for everybody listening in. So tell everybody who made you a winner today. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Burning river podcast got me the Bernie jersey. Thank you, guys. [00:17:36] Speaker C: Appreciate it. [00:17:37] Kenny Thunder: Thank you, Josh. [00:17:37] Ronnie Jams: Yep. Thank you, Josh. Keep following and stay tuned. There's going to be plenty more chances to win in the future with Jerseys and other things coming up. So. [00:17:49] Speaker A: All right, thank you, guys, again. [00:17:51] Ronnie Jams: Thank you. And thanks to all who participated. And like I said, stay tuned for more giveaways. [00:17:56] Kenny Thunder: Thanks, Josh. [00:17:57] Speaker A: Go Browns. [00:17:58] Ronnie Jams: Go Browns. Once again, thanks to all participants. Stay tuned for more giveaways. But for now, and before we get into the hot take hotline, it's time for the Bone Zone. All right, It's. It's kind of the Bone Zone, but [00:18:20] Kenny Thunder: this week it's an amended version. [00:18:22] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, this week, Thunder and Jams will be joining the Bone Zone because we didn't. [00:18:26] Kenny Thunder: My fault. I went to the Guardians game. [00:18:29] Ronnie Jams: How dare you support. No, seriously, how dare you support the team. Because every time you do, we lose. And we lost. So you. [00:18:35] Kenny Thunder: Every Guardians game I went to this year, they lost. They got pumped every time. [00:18:38] Ronnie Jams: And then you had the audacity to buy merchandise and now we're losing again. [00:18:44] Kenny Thunder: And so Bone and I went to the stadium Friday night when everyone knew the game was going to be canceled, but they kept saying they were going to play. So we tried to catch the game Friday night downtown. And then obviously the game got rescheduled for Sunday right after the Browns game, so went back on Sunday and just didn't get home in time in order for us to record our live show. So we will now partake in giving our thoughts on this week's game. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Now. [00:19:10] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, this is so I. I said Bone Zone. This is really the week six recap. So we're going to try and keep it as condensed as possible because we have a long show on top of this. So here we go. The Browns are on top of the division at the latest point in the season since 2014. That's right. The Browns defeated the Ravens 13 to 10 this week, as everybody already knows. But on offense, we'll start on offense because we always start here. [00:19:38] Kenny Thunder: Who was our. Was that Jared that we talked to from the brownsbaggers last week because he predicted an overtime endeavor and we were about as close as you could get to overtime, so good call out. And he did predict the field goal. [00:19:54] Ronnie Jams: Four, four zero, brownsbackers. Yeah. [00:19:56] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, well done there. [00:19:57] Ronnie Jams: Well done, well done. But, yeah, we'll start with offense like we always do. Deshaun Watson. I don't care. Anybody says he looked awful in this one. 16 for 26, 164 yards, five sacks for 20 yards. Throwing the ball all over the. For three and a half, three and three quarters quarters, he was throwing the ball all over the place. I saw plenty of balls in the dirt overheads all over the Place. [00:20:18] Kenny Thunder: I mean, I think I looked up at one point in with under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter and Desean was something like 13 of 22 for 110 or 120 yards. [00:20:28] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:20:28] Kenny Thunder: Just anemic offense. [00:20:30] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. I will give him props. We did end up getting into a position to win the game, so I'll give him props there. [00:20:36] Kenny Thunder: Did throw one really nice ball and [00:20:39] Ronnie Jams: he did a really good job on that drive. He did a really good job of getting rid of the ball. There was. It was towards the end, it looked like it was like they. They were arguing that it was a fumble. The Ravens were. But it wasn't a fumble. He got like hit and just like darted it right in front of the running back just to get it out of his hand so we don't lose yards. [00:20:57] Kenny Thunder: He's good at throwing balls in the dirt. [00:20:58] Ronnie Jams: Well, yeah, I mentioned that already. [00:20:59] Kenny Thunder: I mean, out of 26 throws, he made one good one on the day. [00:21:03] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:21:03] Kenny Thunder: Which was the most important throw of the game. I'm not. I won't take that away. [00:21:07] Ronnie Jams: And to his credit, he is credited with another game winning drive in the last two minutes of fourth quarter and overtime. He's got like four of them on the season so far, which is pretty insane. [00:21:17] Speaker E: Once again, he put the team on his back and wrote us to victory. [00:21:22] Ronnie Jams: I mean, it's just the most confusing [00:21:24] Kenny Thunder: time ever to be a Brown team. We've seen so many odd, weird, just uncanny, unbelievable things in the last couple of decades up here on the Lakeshore. And this Brown right up there with Browns team being good and in first place at this point in the season has to be right up there with them. Nothing about this team on paper screams they should be doing well. Right? [00:21:50] Speaker A: The. [00:21:50] Kenny Thunder: The running game has been not. [00:21:51] Ronnie Jams: And that's where we're going next. 90, 93 yards in this one. So we're right at that 94.3 yard average that we had coming into it. We're down to 94 yards now. But yeah, you know, neither here nor there. [00:22:03] Kenny Thunder: I mean, I give Audrick estimate credit. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Right. [00:22:05] Kenny Thunder: You come in on Monday, Tuesday, whatever, when he's actually joined the team and ob it's hard. You don't. You don't get integrated into the offensive game plan all that much outside of, you know, whatever plays you can learn inside of a week, which can't be many, which, you know, I think hurt [00:22:21] Ronnie Jams: The Browns showed nine rushes for 19 yards. [00:22:23] Speaker F: It hurt the Browns. [00:22:24] Ronnie Jams: He did get the touchdown, but he had nine rushes for 19 yards. [00:22:26] Kenny Thunder: It hurt the Browns during the game because anytime he was in they knew it was inside run, inside run play because they knew he wasn't going to run a pattern. He, they weren't going to throw the ball out of a formation that he was in. So they were keying on him. It was tough sledding. There were a couple of carries where he was able to move the pile. I mean you could see the athleticism a little bit. There just wasn't a whole lot to write home about. But he did find the end zone. So you know, good on him for, you know, make a do on a short week and contributing. I thought that was really cool. [00:22:54] Speaker C: Yep. [00:22:55] Ronnie Jams: And then Jaleel McLaughlin, nine rushes for 41 yards. So overall though, like I said, 93 yards running game didn't really do anything in this one. [00:23:02] Kenny Thunder: And I like Jaleel McLaughlin a lot. Right. But, but he can't be in every down guy. He just doesn't have the, the frame for it. He's 5 foot 7, 180 pounds. Like he's a good scat back option. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. But I think you saw in that game like he struggles to, to run even if he hits the hole hard, which he did. Like I there, I'm not taking anything away from him. He played as well as I think he can play in that spot. It's just a really tough spot I think for him to fill. [00:23:30] Ronnie Jams: There's nothing that Kenny Thunder likes better than watching somebody hit the hole hard. [00:23:34] Kenny Thunder: Oh, I love that. The harder the better. [00:23:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:37] Ronnie Jams: And then our wide receivers. One, the leading wide receiver in this one is Jerry Judy, of course. Jerry Judy. Four receptions for 69 yards. [00:23:46] Kenny Thunder: Most of them came on that one play. [00:23:47] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, not, not a lot of receptions or yards to go around in this one. [00:23:50] Kenny Thunder: So four touchdowns. [00:23:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:53] Ronnie Jams: So yeah, four receptions for 69 yards as your leader. So yeah, the offense is pretty piss poor. [00:23:59] Kenny Thunder: I would say. There's one final component here that we didn't cover, which is the offensive line. Again, like not doing a lot up front to help your running backs. And, and in the last two weeks this team has given up I think 13 sacks in the last two weeks. I think 24, 25 on the year, which puts them second in the NFL. And sack surrendered. [00:24:21] Ronnie Jams: Not good. [00:24:22] Kenny Thunder: Again, just going back to like this is one of the oddest things that I've ever seen. You have an offensive line that's porous, can't run block, can't pass block. You have a beleaguered Quarterback that everyone hates that is literally doing just enough, which is. Has been enough, but it's just enough. I mean, he has not played well for any particular stretch here, outside of a few plays here and there. But they are winning games. They are winning games, and a lot of it is on the back of that defense, which we'll talk about next. But. But it's just a very odd composition right now. [00:24:55] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. I don't really understand it. I don't think anybody really does, but we. We all just were supposed to enjoy the ride. So here we are. The defense, on the other hand, played really well in this one. After giving up 10 points, fair, pretty much right out the gate, they put the clamps on and shut the Ravens out the rest of the way. So good on them to make some adjustments after a couple early miscues. And really, that's the reason we won this game and that's the reason we've won just about every one of these games, is because the defense has been so good. [00:25:23] Kenny Thunder: It's been really good. I mean, honestly, for the most part. I mean, what did Derek Henry finish with? 58 yards. So. And obviously the huge fumble, the strip at the end, towards the end of the game there. And so the fact that they were able to contain Derek Henry, Tyler Huntley didn't. Didn't do a whole lot to hurt you. Like, this defense played really well. They got to the quarterback a few times. Like, they had three sacks on the day. This defense is. Is legitimate. They can compete with just about anyone. [00:25:51] Ronnie Jams: And I think right now, they keep moving. Every week they move their way up a little bit further because they had that really bad game to start. But they're up to. I. I think when we get into the preview this, this week, I think they're up to the [00:26:05] Kenny Thunder: overall. [00:26:06] Ronnie Jams: And after the first week, I think they were at like, number 29 overall or something like that. [00:26:09] Kenny Thunder: So the only caveat coming out of this week is the fact that Lamar Jackson didn't play. Right. This was a game that went down to the wire, was uber close. The offense couldn't move the ball. Chances are that if Lamar plays in that game, maybe things don't turn out as well for the Browns. [00:26:27] Ronnie Jams: Major injuries in this one. Grant Delpit left early and did not come back. Besides that, I don't remember. Was there any other big injuries? [00:26:34] Kenny Thunder: I mean, there was already a lot of injuries. [00:26:37] Ronnie Jams: I mean, like, new ones, though. I don't think any new ones happened. [00:26:40] Kenny Thunder: I don't think so. [00:26:41] Ronnie Jams: This is the bone zone. Bone did you have any thoughts on this game? [00:26:46] Speaker E: I would agree completely. The offense was kind of hard to watch the entire game, and one or two plays got it done because our defense. Our defense is so good. And I don't know. I don't see how any Browns fan can say otherwise as far as that assessment. It's. [00:27:03] Ronnie Jams: Well, it's just so crazy after the game. So I'm online and I'm like, kind of scouring through things just to see what people are saying it's in. I would say the majority of people kind of agree with everything we're saying. It's like, that was pretty bad. But then you get all these desean Watson defenders that are out there that are like, if our law o line was any good, he'd be averaging 300 yards a game. And what world do you live in? This dude has not put up any sort of number that would indicate that he's even close to capable of averaging 300 yards. No matter how good the line is, [00:27:33] Speaker E: he holds onto the ball too long. He can't read a defense. He can't see the field it and [00:27:37] Kenny Thunder: he can't throw it that well. [00:27:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:39] Ronnie Jams: No, no. So even the times that he's hitting [00:27:42] Kenny Thunder: guys, it's often just behind them or too far out in front, and they have to make an athletic play just to get to the ball. And it's not even the high level of difficulty throws where he struggles, right. It's the. The flats passes out of the backfield where you're trying to get a guy, you know, in space and let him. Let him make something happen. Like, he's not even putting those balls in a position to. To make a play. And I think what's really frustrating, and this is again, coming from someone who doesn't care much for desean and would like to see Shador play, but is the very, like, visible difference in expectations for these guys. We're treating desean with like, kid gloves. Like, the bar is not that high. And yeah, like, he's a first year rookie. [00:28:28] Speaker F: Ye. [00:28:29] Kenny Thunder: Like, the dude's been in the NFL for a long time. He's paid an awful lot of money. And I go back to like last year with Shador working with just not a whole lot of weapons in a poor offensive system that wasn't really tailored to him. And he would, you know, I think in the Tennessee game through for 360 yards and it's like, well, yeah, but it was against Tennessee, like this team lost to the New York Jets a week ago and people weren't Willing to make a quarterback change. They're going well. Deshaun won three games. Well, Shador won three games last year, too. So, you know, it just. [00:28:58] Speaker F: It's just. [00:28:59] Kenny Thunder: It's just crazy. The. The amount of goalposts moving and. And some of that's on both sides. Right. Like, Shador fans have mostly been quiet because there hasn't been anything to talk about. But. But it's just such a polarized conversation, and we've been having it all year long. But the fact that people are just willing to go to bat for desean is. Is so baffling to me. Outside of the fact that he is indeed winning football games, that's the only [00:29:22] Ronnie Jams: thing that he's doing. [00:29:24] Kenny Thunder: I mean, they are finding a way. I don't. [00:29:26] Ronnie Jams: I don't. [00:29:27] Speaker E: I can't explain it because he's not doing it well. I. [00:29:31] Speaker A: By. [00:29:31] Speaker F: Well, I just. [00:29:32] Ronnie Jams: I just mean, like, the. The actual record. [00:29:35] Speaker E: I mean, post game victory speeches or whatever it is. [00:29:38] Ronnie Jams: Oh, my gosh. [00:29:38] Speaker E: Willing to put the gym on his back. And that's why he came back to do it for his teammates. [00:29:43] Kenny Thunder: He loves Cleveland. [00:29:44] Speaker E: It's so fake. [00:29:45] Ronnie Jams: It is wild. Well, and it is. [00:29:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:48] Ronnie Jams: And I'll probably talk about that more tonight, but, like, every time he says that, it drives me insane because just the level of narcissism from the dude. That's. That's. You're not good. You're not good. Like, we're honestly, we're winning games in spite of what you're doing. And yeah, sure, you hit, make a couple good throws in clutch time, and that's great, and it helps us win the game, but if somebody else is in there and they throw for 250, 275 yards, then we're not even in this conversation. We're winning handily. [00:30:20] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:30:20] Ronnie Jams: And we actually look like a good football team. [00:30:22] Kenny Thunder: You hear that team first speak is. And it's often kind of goes in one ear, out the other. [00:30:26] Ronnie Jams: This isn't, though. [00:30:27] Kenny Thunder: His is cliche. Like, you know, I got to give it up to my offensive line or I got to give it up to my receivers, my running. Everybody played great today. Like, that's the only acceptable response that should be coming out of the Sean Watson's mouth right now. It's like my defense bailed us out every time we needed to. Today they could. They put the ball in our hands with two minutes left and gave us a chance to win the game. Game. So hats off to those guys. We just did our part. But honestly, like, the. It's it's everybody else. Like, he should be riding everyone else's jock at this point. Going doesn't cross his mind. [00:30:57] Ronnie Jams: No, he is so, like I said, he's so narcissistic that the. I think he truly believes he's given props to the entire team. But what comes out is, this is why I came back, so I could put you all in a position to win late in games. Like, what world does that say? I'm a team first guy. And, and I know, like, all, all of the Cleveland media, everybody else will tell you that he's well respected in the locker room. I don't know if maybe he's just not very good at speaking to the team, like, in the moment, but they know what he means because they see him all the time. I don't know. [00:31:31] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [00:31:31] Ronnie Jams: I'm not saying he's not a good leader because nobody is speaking out against him on the team. [00:31:36] Kenny Thunder: And I'm sure there's camps inside of that locker room, some that are close with him and are from friends with him. And then there's some probably that do see him in practice every day and are like, gosh, like, how. How is this guy our starting quarterback? And like, we've all been a part of teams with either coaches or other players maybe that we weren't friendly with. [00:31:54] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, they're a team with you. [00:31:56] Kenny Thunder: And there is something about. [00:31:57] Ronnie Jams: I'm still on a team with you. [00:31:58] Kenny Thunder: Like when you, when you leave that locker room and you hit the field, regardless of what you're doing, like, you have to play for one another, have each other's backs. And so you're never going to glean that from talking to these guys because no one's ever going to say, like, well, gee, we think Shador could have done the same thing. I think we can prognosticate on that as people that speak about, about the game. But you're never going to hear that from inside the locker room, regardless of what the truth is. [00:32:23] Ronnie Jams: No. So let's move it along here real quick, just for recap sake. I already posted them, but the nominees for the Burning River Sportscast Dog of the Week were. [00:32:31] Kenny Thunder: Kenny Andre Schmidt had the. Had the miss. And you know, to make the kick at the end of that was super resilient. [00:32:41] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. We've said we like having Andre Schmidt. He's. I think he's proven himself to be a reliable kicker in this league. [00:32:50] Speaker A: Well. [00:32:50] Kenny Thunder: And this year especially, he's getting those, like, high leverage situations and he's coming through in the clutch. So it's all good. [00:32:56] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. I nominated Carson Schinger. Just huge game out of him today. Just obvious leader of that defense. So another big game from him and then Bone, who'd you nominate? [00:33:10] Speaker E: Oh, big play, Jerry. James. Judy. [00:33:11] Kenny Thunder: Big play, Jerry. [00:33:12] Ronnie Jams: Big play, Jerry. I am. I am starting to get. Like, I saw over social media. It's like the fourth quarter is where Jerry Judy shot. Like, it's like they're becoming a thing. Like he's. Fourth quarter, Jerry. [00:33:23] Kenny Thunder: Fourth quarter, Jerry. Fourth quarter, DeShawn. [00:33:25] Ronnie Jams: Yep. So those are the nominees. We'll get right back to this here pretty quickly in the show to tell you who the dog of the week was. Kenny, did you have a final thought on this week? Just succinct final thought. [00:33:37] Kenny Thunder: I just. Look, they're winning. That's all I can say. They're winning again. A lot of it's inexplicable. There's not a lot on paper that would tell you this team is good. They could just as easily be 2 and 4. I think for whatever reason, maybe it's just tremendous strokes of luck, this team has found themselves ahead of the division, which is good, right? As Clevelanders, we should celebrate the fact that this team is watchable right now, even if the game is kind of unwatchable. Like they're at least winning games. And it's a change of pace. We're so used to living winning, losing in this town. Winning feels good. It's just. It's so. It's just weird. It's weird. It doesn't feel like. It doesn't feel like a team that should be winning. But they are. [00:34:25] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. My final thought was 2014. I mentioned it just a little bit ago. 2014 is the last time that they led the division this late in the season when they had a 6 and 3 record. After week 10, Brian Hoyer. The very next week, they switched to Johnny Manziel. I say all of that to say a lot of bad things can happen yet in the season. [00:34:48] Kenny Thunder: So if I hear you correctly, you're saying don't put Shador Sanders. [00:34:51] Ronnie Jams: That's not what I'm saying. [00:34:52] Kenny Thunder: Bad things will happen. [00:34:52] Ronnie Jams: No, this is actually the complete opposite of that. Like you should. This is the time you should switch. But we're not going to. And bad things are going to happen as I think what's going to go. [00:35:00] Kenny Thunder: Maybe shoulder should put on a wig and fly to Vegas. [00:35:02] Ronnie Jams: Ah, that'll do it. That'll do it. Billy Sanders and then bone. You're not usually in on this One. But I'm going to give you. I just. Because I'm feeling generous. Seven words or less. Final thoughts, Final thoughts for this week. [00:35:19] Speaker E: I'm going to go to the past as well. I. I just keep thinking about. [00:35:22] Ronnie Jams: This is way more than seven words. [00:35:24] Speaker E: Thinking about. I. I forget the exact year, but it was the year Joe Flacco came and we, we won those five games. But pre Joe Flacco, we had like, I don't know, three or four other quarterbacks. I think DTR P.J. [00:35:37] Kenny Thunder: walker. [00:35:37] Speaker E: P.J. walker is one I keep bringing up. And we won games with those guys because our defense was so freaking good. We beat San Francisco with P.J. walker that year and I don't think they had lost a game for. It was like a ridiculous streak. [00:35:49] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [00:35:50] Speaker E: And then we beat them somehow and it was because our defense was so freaking good and we stayed in games. We hung around in one way or another, we won. And it's just like. That's what I'm reminded of this year. That's. Yeah. [00:36:05] Ronnie Jams: Hopefully. [00:36:07] Speaker E: Yeah. So I, I hope it's sustainable. I just. I just don't think it is unless. Unless something changes. But. And we didn't have any reason to not like those quarterbacks, except maybe they didn't play that well. Yeah. I just have a hard time. [00:36:20] Kenny Thunder: That was a much more. [00:36:21] Speaker E: I root for Deshawn, but I. It's just like I don't. I don't like them. [00:36:24] Ronnie Jams: It got real exciting after that. So. Yeah, maybe if we switch to Shador, it'll get real exciting. [00:36:29] Speaker E: I just think the team. The team would be so much more likable if Shador was at the helm or Joe Flacco. [00:36:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And so with that, let me remind [00:36:36] Speaker A: everybody, [00:36:40] Ronnie Jams: I'll leave your hot takes on the hot take hotline. Kenny, we have hot takes tonight. [00:36:43] Kenny Thunder: We got some hot takes. [00:36:44] Ronnie Jams: We got. We've got hot takes. [00:36:46] Kenny Thunder: You want to hear them? [00:36:47] Ronnie Jams: I want to hear them. [00:36:48] Speaker A: Hey, guys, it's Menachem from the Browns. Backers of North Jersey calling back. Appreciate the love from last week, even though I, you know, maybe not so much. I got, I gotta, I got. I gotta go for it. I gotta go that far. I gotta go all the way with this. This week, the Browns took a stand and refused to quit. The first quarter was terrible. People at the club were yelling, I want action. But the Browns knew that they needed to go that far and make the comeback. When they were down 10, three, we needed something to believe in. And Carson Schlesinger stepped up and forced the Fumble. And when SMA scored, it felt like nothing but a good time at the Browns backers of North Jersey. Maybe your mama don't dance, but we were after Andre Schmidt hit the game winner. It's important to remember, though, that every rose has a thorn. Delphi went out during the game. Hopefully it's not too serious and he'll be back next week. Hope you guys have a great week. Hope everyone out there has a great week. Week. Matt from Nashville, the Browns are coming to your neck of the woods. If you're going to the game, have a great time. And look out for our guys from the Browns backers of the north Jersey who will be going there. Angry Bobby's going. The bot. The little bobbies, as you guys call them, are going. It's gonna be awesome. And a shout out to our boy Cliff. Hope you're doing well, Cliff. We love you. And yeah. Let's go. [00:38:11] Speaker C: Here we go, brownies, here we go. [00:38:14] Speaker A: Go. Here we go, brownies, here we go. [00:38:20] Kenny Thunder: Always good to hear from our boy. [00:38:21] Ronnie Jams: Manakum bringing the heat. Guess it was really heat. It was just like he was excited for the game. [00:38:26] Kenny Thunder: He actually covered a lot of ground there. [00:38:28] Ronnie Jams: I mean, I liked all his references in this one. He had a few of them. [00:38:34] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Just telling the story of the game, which truly was an emotional roller coaster. Coaster. It was just one. One. One thing after the other and. But I think that is the. The one thing we can take away is that there is something about this [00:38:47] Ronnie Jams: team is an emotional roller coaster. [00:38:49] Kenny Thunder: Whether it's Todd Monkin or what is changing the culture there in Cleveland. This team is resilient, and they just keep fighting back and they keep playing. Like, I don't know that it's good for my blood pressure or my mental health to keep watching games that come down to the wire like that. But I can tell you it's not. It feels like it shouldn't be that hard. Like it should be so much easier, but. But they keep winning games. [00:39:16] Ronnie Jams: I'll tell you this. What's. What's worse? I guess I won't tell you this. I'll ask you this. What's worse? Being having all the anxiety during the game and then we win and you're happy the rest of the week or having it. The flip. The flip side of that is that you go through the entire game and then you're angry the entire week because the Browns suck. [00:39:35] Kenny Thunder: Well, it's like the anxiety is the same, right? Because all during the game, I'm like, why can't we Run the ball. Why can't we throw the ball? Why is this happening? So the anxiety is there the entire time. But I guess you there is the silver lining in the fact that the [00:39:48] Ronnie Jams: week is much better. [00:39:49] Kenny Thunder: At the end of the day, we are winning. [00:39:52] Ronnie Jams: So. So instead of seven days a week, it's only. It's only one day a week, six days a week. But, yeah, you know, thanks for calling Monochum. We appreciate it. Last thing, Angry Bobby, they posted a clip of him dancing. [00:40:07] Kenny Thunder: Dancing Bobby? [00:40:08] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, he was Dancing Bobby. And they told me that he was Happy Bob in that. I don't know if I like Happy Bob. Happy Bob doesn't do much for me. [00:40:14] Kenny Thunder: They reminded me of those dancing bear videos. [00:40:17] Ronnie Jams: Not me. That was not what I was thinking. But that's weird. [00:40:21] Kenny Thunder: I think Bobby could be in those. [00:40:23] Speaker A: Good morning. Good morning. It's Happy Bob from the Browns backers of North Jersey sitting here at my desk drinking coffee out of my Victory Monday mug. [00:40:34] Speaker C: I love it. [00:40:37] Speaker A: I figured I'd call because I listened last week and you guys were calling me out for not calling. I apologize for that. But last week was. It was. Last week was a nightmare with a freaking game with the rain. All right. [00:40:50] Speaker C: Crap. [00:40:50] Speaker A: I just. I got up the next morning, I was exhausted. But I'm calling today. Happy Bob after a victory, my hot takes. I got some hot takes today. One, Jaleel McLaughlin's gotta play a little more. Get. Give him the ball. Before he came on the Browns, he had like a 4.9 yards per carry yesterday. 4.6 yards per carry. Only nine carries, though. But he still had 4.6 yards per carry. Give him the ball, Quinton. He can stay on the sideline. Only three yards of carry all year. Two, the defensive backs need to use the jugs machine. So many balls went through their hands. Should have had so many interceptions last yesterday. 3. You guys mocked me. I shouldn't say mocked. You laughed at me when I said the Browns would have a winning record this season. I know there's a long way to go, but things are looking good. Yes, they're squeaking by, but hey, a win is a win. And my last hot take is. Is you guys getting a little lazy with your. One of my favorite things on your show, your weekly show is when you do the interviews for the Brownsbackers President Series. 1 of my favorite parts of. Of the. Of the shows you used to post them on, you know, you should have the live videos that were. There were interviews were on YouTube. I used to love watching the interviews. You don't do that anymore. The last interview I saw was Glass City Brownsbackers, and that's not even a club anymore. So if you guys can find it, find time to somehow post those videos again, that'd be great. We're heading to Nashville this weekend looking for a victory. Make us five and two. Let's go, Brown. Wow. [00:42:56] Kenny Thunder: That was. That was our friend Angry, Happy, Happy [00:42:59] Ronnie Jams: Bob, Happy Robert, Angry Bobby, AKA Happy Bob. A couple things. Let's start from the back end there. [00:43:07] Kenny Thunder: So pack this. [00:43:09] Ronnie Jams: Let's start from the back end there where he talked about the interview series. [00:43:13] Kenny Thunder: So Angry Bobby's calling us out, which is fair. Our video production has been lacking. I would say the biggest change from like last year to this year is the recording suite that we use for our live, live and in person interviews. [00:43:30] Ronnie Jams: It's like behind the scenes, how the [00:43:31] Kenny Thunder: Sausage Is Made continues to upgrade their platform. And I don't know if you know anything about, like software upgrades, but sometimes those upgrades become downgrades. And with the advent of AI technologies and everyone trying to make things easier, it has made things substantially harder to try and get the formatting right. So it's requiring way more man hours to try and get those things out. But we are working on fixes for them and we do plan to release all of the Brownsbackers interview series conversations as soon as we possibly can. [00:44:11] Ronnie Jams: So I guess to add on to that Angry Bobby and I guess just to piggyback off of it is there will be a lot of them out soon. I don't know when that date is going to be. I think we're going to start probably post it. My, my guess is I'm not going to speak for Kenny. He's our, he's our editor. [00:44:30] Kenny Thunder: The small crew. [00:44:31] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. But my guess is we're going to start more regularly posting the interviews and then we will work on a big quote, unquote dump, if you will, of backlogged. [00:44:44] Kenny Thunder: I'm good at taking backlog dumps. [00:44:45] Ronnie Jams: Yes, we'll get it. We'll get a nice backlog out there for you and you'll be able to watch the like, I don't know, four hours of Brownsbackers interviews. [00:44:53] Speaker A: Right. [00:44:54] Ronnie Jams: Right back to back. [00:44:54] Kenny Thunder: Here's the other thing I would tell. Here's the other thing I would tell you is doing what we do is not only time consuming, it's expensive. And we are working on considerable equipment upgrades to try and facilitate the easier and more frequent production of our video content. So, you know, hang with us. We appreciate you listening One thing you can do to help us is tell your friends, drive more listeners to the show. More listeners, more streams. The more views we have, the more money we can make to continue to upgrade our equipment so that we can continue to produce the best pod in the land. [00:45:32] Ronnie Jams: And I'm working on, I mentioned it preseason. We haven't really gotten into it too much. I don't, I, I don't like paywalls in general, but I am working on a donation system for listeners for if you do like the show, you're more than welcome to. To help us. Help us keep growing this thing. So that was, that was going to be the longest winded saucer. So. Angry Bobby, I actually really appreciate you asking the question so that we can take that time to explain what's going on here. But yeah, a lot of good hot [00:46:01] Kenny Thunder: takes otherwise as well. [00:46:02] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, besides that, we're right there with you. With the quinch on Judkins thing, we don't know if necessarily he needs to stay on the bench. But it's a question I continue to ask. I just, I'm getting really, really can. The longer it goes on, the more and more concerned I am. So. [00:46:16] Kenny Thunder: And I don't know that Jaleel McLaughlin is the answer. [00:46:19] Ronnie Jams: I don't think that he's the answer. [00:46:20] Kenny Thunder: Certainly he's been better than what we've seen out of Quinte on to this point. So I agree with Angry Bobby. Like I'd like to see more and more of him in this offense. I also worry a little bit about his frame and just his ability, his ability to contribute all year long with higher usage. So I think that has to be something that they have to factor in to their game plans because I think you have to be careful with a guy like that. So. But, but also the Jugs machine. Good idea. [00:46:51] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:46:51] Kenny Thunder: There. [00:46:52] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:46:52] Kenny Thunder: I think Emanuel McNeil Warren, who's had a really great start to, to his career, dropped. Dropped one that he should have had. [00:47:00] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And one to be fair. And, and these guys are. Well, that's what they play defense for a reason. Like they're, they're, if they could catch, they'd be receivers. [00:47:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:09] Ronnie Jams: They're catching the ball for an interception is very low on their list of focus. Like their, their whole focus is to be defenders, not necessarily to catch the ball and run it back. So if it all comes to fruition and they catch it and they do run it back, great. But at the end of the day, I mean that's not. [00:47:27] Speaker E: McNeil Warren dropped the pick but he Also dropped Derek Henry on the two yard line and saved a touchdown. [00:47:34] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:47:34] Kenny Thunder: Hell yeah. [00:47:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that's right. [00:47:36] Kenny Thunder: I love what I've seen out of that guy so far. [00:47:38] Ronnie Jams: I think he's just. I think that was a good find. Yeah. What was his other way of four? So what was his first one? [00:47:44] Speaker E: He called you guys out for laughing in his face. [00:47:46] Kenny Thunder: Oh, yeah. [00:47:46] Speaker A: True. [00:47:47] Ronnie Jams: Oh, hold on to that one because I still think we're in the right here. I know. I. I know. They're already at Kenny's predicted season total and they're one game away from me and Bones. Predicted season total of wins. [00:48:01] Kenny Thunder: However, [00:48:03] Ronnie Jams: we're gonna get into this. We already talked about a little bit. We're gonna keep getting into this. This is not a sustainable formula to win games. It's just not red hot Ronnie. [00:48:11] Kenny Thunder: James isn't willing to walk it back just yet, but I am. [00:48:14] Speaker A: We did. [00:48:15] Kenny Thunder: We did laugh directly in your face, Angry Bobby. [00:48:17] Ronnie Jams: I, I may. I still laugh in your face. [00:48:19] Kenny Thunder: And I have remorse for that because clearly we were short sighted in this whole thing. But look, they're winning games. It's good times. Good. [00:48:29] Ronnie Jams: I still laugh in your face. [00:48:32] Kenny Thunder: But it was good to hear from our friend, Angry Bobby. [00:48:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it's about time. He's. I like how he says he only didn't call last week. You didn't call the week before that. You didn't call the week before that. [00:48:41] Speaker A: Whatever. [00:48:41] Kenny Thunder: Angry, ironic James is calling you out. [00:48:43] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I'm calling you out again. Keep calling. [00:48:46] Speaker A: Oh, what's up, guys? It's Nashville week. This is Matt from Nashville. Considering just taking off the whole week because there's just so much stuff to do down here. Plan on having lots of fun, hot takes on yesterday's game. [00:49:02] Speaker C: Man. [00:49:04] Speaker A: Well, I got a friend from Baltimore. We were talking crap back and forth, and my first comment in the first little bit was that Deshaun Watson was doing reverse Halloween where you give away lots of sacks, and maybe they're full of candy or not, but you got to give away the sacks instead of expecting people to, you know, come to you. So there was that. And I was trying to incorporate that into some type of, like, strategy when I was explaining it to my kids that that's the way they do it. Which led me to my next thought. The madman theory of history. Richard Nixon in Vietnam. You know, this guy's so crazy, we don't know what they're going to do. So maybe the madman theory unconsciously is at work here and you just, you know, the other team's not going to know who they're playing. So they're studying tape, and they're having to think, man, there's like 48 different Browns teams, and which one's going to show up? It's not even which one is going to show up today. It's which one is going to show up in which quarter. Which brings me to my next thought. Everybody's talking about if we could just get these guys to play four solid quarters. Does anybody play four solid quarters? Why don't we set the bar at three solid quarters? I just have one trash quarter every game, and I think that that's enough. Which led me to my next thought. A few years ago, some guy who's an artist guy with a really, really, really shaky hand made a video called it Embrace the Shake, where he's not getting rid of his shake. So how can he figure out how to make the best drawings of his life incorporating the shake? And the dude did some awesome stuff. So we embrace the shake. Which brings me to my next point. As soon as they got that dot, look how they're playing now, as soon as they could get this young team really working together, you know, as soon as they could. And I thought, what. What if. What if this is as good as it gets? You know, it's like we go from several, several. Several losing seasons, and I think everybody just wants a sense of control, you know, Like, I want a sense of control. I want a sense of predictability. Watching the Browns, even when they're winning, is too much like my own life. And I watch football to try to escape my own life. But I want some degree of certainty. I want certainty more than I want victory. So I want a posture, some type of reality in which I can have greater predictability, I can have less. Well, like, if I have anxiety, at least a certainty, you know, they're really going to lose this one or they're really going to win this one. And I want to know that for the. From the first quarter. So. So just saying, as soon as they. Then we will have a, you know, settle in, settle in. Enjoy what it is. All right, last thought. Has anybody checked fatigue for attention deficit disorder diagnosis? Because my kids, my family, everybody around me cannot get crap done until it is the fourth quarter, no matter what we do. And all the doctors say it's because we have add. So there you go, little ADD Football. I think that's what's happening there. Someone could check that out and get the right meds, and then maybe we can push that urgency to the first quarter. Instead of the fourth. All right. Have a wonderful day. See everybody in Nashville. Go Browns. Pizza Titans. [00:52:35] Ronnie Jams: I like the stream of consciousness. Just like. Just thoughts of Matt from Nashville. Like, he just. Which leads me to. And he just keeps going. [00:52:46] Kenny Thunder: I refer to it more like stream of brilliance fair. This man, he's a. He's a cultured guy. [00:52:50] Ronnie Jams: Way better historical. [00:52:53] Kenny Thunder: Poor Manakum. [00:52:54] Ronnie Jams: I'm just kidding, Monaco. [00:52:55] Kenny Thunder: You love him and knock him. But this Matt, though, I mean, he's just. He's just dropping cultural, historical references on us each week, like, tying things together. He. [00:53:04] Ronnie Jams: It's a tangled web he weaves between him and men. That's like our speed. Like, we're. Me and you try. You know, we. I feel like we dropped some references on here that only we get. Yeah, just. Nobody really gets because it's. It's like. I don't know, but these guys, they come in and they. They bring the heat with. [00:53:24] Kenny Thunder: Cut from the same cloth. [00:53:25] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [00:53:26] Kenny Thunder: No, a lot of great points there. I love the. The end. Tie in with the ADD procrastinator myself. You know, it's always easier to perform under crunch time when you have to meet that deadline. [00:53:37] Speaker C: You're. [00:53:38] Ronnie Jams: You're in sales now, aren't you? [00:53:39] Kenny Thunder: Maybe that's. [00:53:40] Ronnie Jams: What are you in. [00:53:40] Speaker E: What do you. [00:53:41] Kenny Thunder: I've mostly always been in sales, but. But, yeah, just. It's always easier to perform under the gun. So maybe that's part of what this is. Is just they got to get to the moment so that they can rise above the adversity. [00:53:55] Ronnie Jams: Something. I don't know, but I think the ADHD ADD reference is fair because, yeah, it feels bad. [00:54:03] Speaker C: They. [00:54:03] Ronnie Jams: They're just all over the place. The rest of the. [00:54:07] Kenny Thunder: What else did he mention in there that I wanted to touch on? [00:54:12] Ronnie Jams: Maybe this is as good as it gets. Actually, that's a good point, because we've said before about, like, the Joe Flacco days. Like, I wish we knew it was the good old days before they were over. Not that I'm saying with the Sean Watson. We have the good old days, but the fact that they're actually winning games feels good and we should enjoy it. [00:54:27] Kenny Thunder: That's what it was. I think the phrase that I've heard most often is like, this team is a quarter back away. And then I always think about that in the context of there are 32 NFL teams and only one wins a Super bowl every year. And you could probably say that about the 31 other teams that could win is if they had, you know, whatever that missing piece Was they were just X away. And that's the game, right, that everybody's trying to find every year. I remember many, many years ago when I was in golf school, you know, the dream, the aspirations at that time was, man, if I could just get good enough to play and maybe not be on the PGA Tour, but be able to play golf for a living on, like, a mini tour and make a living. I remember talking to Pier and was talking about, you know, if I could just hit more fairways with my driver and if I could just hit more greens with my irons and if I could just tighten up my wedges a little bit and if I could just put a little better. And he looked at me and he said, well, that's just the whole game. [00:55:21] Ronnie Jams: And so is that, Ron. [00:55:22] Kenny Thunder: And so at one point, you just have to realize, like, the. This is as good as you're going to get. [00:55:26] Ronnie Jams: Which one of our coaches was that? [00:55:28] Kenny Thunder: It wasn't a. It was a peer. I didn't say it was a coach. So I think that that's the reality for a lot of us. Right. Like, you just have to kind of enjoy the ride and embrace what you are. And maybe that's what this team is, is. This is maybe as good as it gets right now. This team is young. They've got a lot of, you know, good pieces, but they've got to get better. This offensive line needs to gel. This running game has been disaster. Our quarterback no one likes, and fresh [00:55:54] Ronnie Jams: out of golf school. That was about as good as it gets. [00:55:55] Kenny Thunder: And that was as good as it gets. [00:55:57] Ronnie Jams: I mean, we thought we could get [00:55:58] Kenny Thunder: better, and we did enough to work in the. The business of golf and to be club pros, but we were never going to be able to be players because we just. We didn't have that. That. [00:56:08] Ronnie Jams: Nope. [00:56:09] Kenny Thunder: That missing everything else. [00:56:11] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. It's just the whole game. [00:56:13] Kenny Thunder: It's just the whole game. You could drive the ball and hit your irons, hit your wedges, and you could, but he'd be a good player. [00:56:19] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And yes, DeSean Watson was handing out sacks. [00:56:24] Kenny Thunder: Yes. It was a trick or treat. [00:56:26] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. [00:56:28] Kenny Thunder: They're just lucky that's all he was handing out. [00:56:34] Ronnie Jams: Matt from Nashville, thanks for calling again. Stay tuned in this one because we got a lot coming from Nashville this week. [00:56:41] Kenny Thunder: So it sounds like everybody's going. I mean, everybody's the place to be. We had kind of toyed with the idea maybe going, but it just didn't work out. But it sounds like Brownsbackers in North Jersey are going. Obviously Matt's in in Nashville, so should be a nice, strong representation of Browns fans in Nashville this week. So I hope everybody has a good time and everybody gets there and back safely. [00:57:00] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. Was that all the hot takes? [00:57:02] Kenny Thunder: We got more all of the hot takes this week. All right. [00:57:04] Ronnie Jams: Make sure everybody else calls in and gives us your hot takes. Remember, these are hot takes. We want hot takes. We want hot takes. [00:57:10] Kenny Thunder: We love Those hot takes. 3302-2780-8133-0227-80833 0227-808133-02278, 081. [00:57:18] Ronnie Jams: Call now. Operators are not standing by. We'll put you on the air and we'll talk about it like we did today. [00:57:23] Kenny Thunder: We will talk about it. [00:57:24] Ronnie Jams: Speaking of hot takes, it's time for ticket with the Macho fan. [00:57:33] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:57:35] Ronnie Jams: Came down with a wire. [00:57:36] Speaker A: Neil Biter. [00:57:38] Kenny Thunder: But it became an empty, epic win. [00:57:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:41] Speaker A: Now we move on. [00:57:42] Ronnie Jams: And we're moving on. [00:57:44] Kenny Thunder: We're moving on to the Tennessee Titans. [00:57:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:47] Ronnie Jams: And you might be known for honky [00:57:49] Kenny Thunder: tonk, but we're the land of rock and roll. And that's exactly what we're gonna be [00:57:54] Speaker A: doing all day long. [00:57:56] Ronnie Jams: We're gonna be rocking and we're gonna be rolling. [00:57:59] Kenny Thunder: So you get ready. [00:58:00] Speaker A: Cause we're bringing a new tune to town. Yeah. [00:58:04] Ronnie Jams: Oh, yeah. That's gold Browns, dick. [00:58:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:58:18] Ronnie Jams: Macho. Macho fan. [00:58:22] Kenny Thunder: I wanna be a macho fan. [00:58:25] Ronnie Jams: He's so macho. [00:58:26] Kenny Thunder: I remember I still have flashbacks and night terrors. About that time he threatened me after talking about his wife. [00:58:37] Ronnie Jams: I forgo you did that. We don't talk about Elizabeth. If we had. If you had time. We probably don't have time to edit it in, but that's my wife. [00:58:44] Kenny Thunder: You leave her out of this. [00:58:46] Ronnie Jams: That's one of the best. That's probably the highlight clip from Macho Fan. [00:58:49] Kenny Thunder: You don't want to run into macho fan in a dark alley. [00:58:52] Ronnie Jams: No, no, no, no, no. But with that, let's go ahead and give him the get into the Burning River Sportscast dog of the week. [00:59:01] Kenny Thunder: Doesn't matter, man. [00:59:02] Speaker A: You got to play tough people in the National Football League. [00:59:05] Kenny Thunder: You got to be ready and we got to be the dogs that we [00:59:08] Speaker A: are on there on Sunday and be ready to attack. And don't stop until we're in that locker room. [00:59:16] Ronnie Jams: All right. We leave it up to our listeners to determine the Burning River Sportscast dog of the week each week on our live shows on Sunday, which we did not have. This week we each nominate a dog of the week candidate. But I got your guys's dog of the week candidate and I post them anyway. So from there, we turn it over to all of you on our socials and you vote to make the final decision. This week's nominees. Just a reminder. Kenny. [00:59:37] Kenny Thunder: Andre Risen. [00:59:38] Ronnie Jams: Nope. Andre Schmidt. [00:59:39] Kenny Thunder: Oh, Schmidt. [00:59:40] Ronnie Jams: I Nomin. Carson. Schwezinger. And Bone. [00:59:43] Speaker E: Jerry Springer. [00:59:45] Kenny Thunder: Nice bones in on the game. [00:59:48] Speaker A: Yes. [00:59:48] Speaker F: Jerry. [00:59:49] Kenny Thunder: Judy, former governor of California. [00:59:53] Ronnie Jams: What the is happening? After the fan vote that was conducted on our socials, this week's Burning River Sportscast Dog of the week is [01:00:03] Speaker C: Carson. Oh, yeah. [01:00:06] Ronnie Jams: 13 T tackles in this one. 13 tackles, five solo, and a forced fumble from Sir King Henry himself. [01:00:15] Kenny Thunder: I think Nike. [01:00:15] Ronnie Jams: Sir King is, like, redundant. [01:00:17] Kenny Thunder: But anyway, yeah, Sir King Nike is missing a huge opportunity here to market the swish. Like, we don't need the Nike swish anymore. Nike swish. [01:00:27] Ronnie Jams: That would be dope. [01:00:28] Kenny Thunder: Just like, they put, like, a mullet on the Nike swish. [01:00:31] Ronnie Jams: I don't think he has a mullet. [01:00:33] Speaker C: You can swish with the swish. [01:00:34] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, something like that. [01:00:36] Ronnie Jams: He literally has, like, the fur. He is like, hair. He has a nice flow going. And you just call it a mullet. [01:00:42] Speaker E: Defensive rookie of the year and he's still backing it up. You know, sophomore season. [01:00:47] Kenny Thunder: Right. We need a sweating shoe. [01:00:49] Ronnie Jams: He is a dog. I like that Bone. Shut up, Kenny. [01:00:52] Kenny Thunder: Jerry Springer. [01:00:53] Ronnie Jams: Jerry Springer. The dog of the week. All right. With that, let's go ahead and get into the Browns brief. [01:01:09] Speaker C: All right. [01:01:09] Ronnie Jams: We're going to keep the Browns brief. [01:01:11] Speaker C: Brief. [01:01:11] Kenny Thunder: Before we get into the Browns brief. When you said sir last segment, it reminded me of. I did see Sir Yacht at the Guardians game. [01:01:20] Ronnie Jams: Oh, nice. Did you say hi? [01:01:22] Kenny Thunder: We slapped hands a few times. [01:01:23] Ronnie Jams: Slap hands. [01:01:24] Kenny Thunder: There were a lot of people. Not a lot of people, but there were some people that were like, oh, let's take a picture at it. I don't want to be like that guy. [01:01:28] Ronnie Jams: So I just want to remind everybody that Kenny went to the Guardians game and they lost. And then he bought a Ramirez jersey and Ramirez went into a slump. And the Guardians are on the verge. We're recording on Monday night. [01:01:42] Kenny Thunder: They'll be eliminated by the time this place. [01:01:44] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And it's all Kenny's fault. As soon as Kenny gets involved, everything goes bad. [01:01:49] Kenny Thunder: But I did see Sir Yacht, and he's like 6 foot 11, a lot tall. [01:01:53] Ronnie Jams: You sent that picture. He was like, off to the side because it was a picture of the field. But you sent us A picture and he was in it. And I was like, that dude's huge. Huge. [01:02:00] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. Massive. He was literally a foot taller than me. [01:02:03] Ronnie Jams: Never would have guessed that. [01:02:04] Kenny Thunder: He was easily a foot taller than me. [01:02:05] Ronnie Jams: Bone didn't even know who Siri was. [01:02:07] Speaker E: I still don't know who he was. I lied about telling me who he was. [01:02:11] Ronnie Jams: He thought we were going to tell him after he told us. She told him. Nope, nope, nope. [01:02:15] Speaker E: I think he does something on the [01:02:16] Kenny Thunder: Internet that he does. [01:02:19] Ronnie Jams: But anyways, we're going to keep the Browns brief. [01:02:20] Speaker A: Brief. [01:02:21] Ronnie Jams: I mentioned the Browns are on top of the division at the latest point in the season since 2014. And we're going to talk about this. This is kind of like a running theme in this show because. Because we got several guests and we're going to talk about this with them too. But the Browns, guys, contenders, pretenders, what are we? What do we. What, what are we? [01:02:41] Kenny Thunder: Well, right now they're winning ugly. [01:02:44] Ronnie Jams: Does that mean they're going to win pretty eventually? [01:02:48] Kenny Thunder: I don't think so. I think if this team is good this year and puts up a nice win total, it's going to continue to look just like this. There's just so many problems. And this problem. [01:03:00] Ronnie Jams: We all got problems. [01:03:02] Speaker F: My dog just threw up a finger. [01:03:03] Kenny Thunder: And this team is still just so young that I don't see it like changing in a meaningful direction to be a lot different. [01:03:12] Speaker E: You know, I. [01:03:14] Kenny Thunder: Anytime you change quarterbacks, things can. Can change significantly. But. And I'd like to think that this team would also be 4 and 2 or even better if Shador were playing. Cause I think Shador can play at least as bad as desean has been playing. But. But they're winning games. Is it sustainable? I don't think. I don't. I don't see how it is. There's. There's just. It's. It feels like everything they do is such a struggle. It's a. Every play, it's like they're. They're putting maximum effort into it and just not getting anywhere. So I don't know that that's a recipe for long term success. But they are winning ugly. So maybe they can continue to do just that throughout the year. I don't know that that gets you far in the play when you start playing actual good teams. This team lost to the Jets a week ago. Yeah, I mean, I think that's a pretty good litmus test for like, how good is this team? They're good enough to win games, but are they good enough to win a Lot of games. Are they good enough to win games into the playoffs? I don't, I don't, I don't see any way that that's possible. [01:04:19] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I mean I, I would agree with you. And, and I think Sunday's game was actually the perfect, perfect microcosm of the Brown season so far. Like, I was just, just frustrated the entire time. I was just angry at the t. I'm like, what are we even doing here? And then we won. [01:04:34] Kenny Thunder: It was hard to watch. [01:04:35] Ronnie Jams: And then we won and I was like, like the. I, I remember when he kicked the field goal, I was just kind of like, yeah, that's. I guess so. Like I was excited that we won, don't get me wrong. But I was just kind of like, how do you play that back and win a game? [01:04:55] Speaker E: I mean, did you guys all thought at halftime you're like, how are we even still in this game? [01:05:00] Ronnie Jams: Yes. Yeah, absolutely. [01:05:02] Speaker E: I mean, I don't know how else to put it. For some reason we were. Our defense continues to, to outshine the offense obviously and keeps us in the game. We have a chance to win at the end. [01:05:15] Ronnie Jams: This is the problem is, is your quarterback plays basically half a quarter a game at the very end of the game, which is when it counts. [01:05:22] Kenny Thunder: One drive. [01:05:22] Ronnie Jams: It's when it counts at least. So I'll give them that. But it's just not sustainable like you said because literally every advanced. And we're not big on the advanced statistics. Abc, brs, BBC, BBC, espn. All the advanced analytics. Yeah, all the advanced analytics. But every. I'm gonna use them right now because every advanced statistic that you could possibly find and even the ones that aren't so advanced, just the simple like yards per game, like normal things point to the fact that this team should not be winning games. And I understand that we are and I want to enjoy that. But at the same time, like if you're looking to the future and looking to are they going to make the playoffs, are they going to do this, are they going to win the division? The answer has to be no, probably not. Because it's just. [01:06:13] Kenny Thunder: I think they are. [01:06:14] Ronnie Jams: I guess the. Go ahead. [01:06:15] Kenny Thunder: I think they are second in the NFL and penalties and second in the NFL and sacks given up. [01:06:20] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, that sounds about right. [01:06:21] Kenny Thunder: I mean those two things alone are enough to. Right. [01:06:23] Ronnie Jams: And that's what I mean. Every statistical category you're like this points to losses. And I guess I, I guess it's the Brown's way. [01:06:31] Speaker C: Right? [01:06:31] Ronnie Jams: Because what have we said for so long? It's statistically improbable to be this bad for this long. Well, maybe we're getting the exact opposite. [01:06:40] Kenny Thunder: It's just like if you flip a coin enough times like it's going to, you're going to eventually even out probability [01:06:45] Ronnie Jams: statistically impossible probable for a team that is putting up these type of stats to win this many games. [01:06:51] Kenny Thunder: Here's the one thing that I would say kind of in favor of maybe this team is better than we're giving them credit for is look around the league today. Justin Herbert overnight seems to have turned into sour milk. You know, they're not very good. [01:07:09] Ronnie Jams: Well, Ocho single. I'll tell you why. [01:07:11] Kenny Thunder: The Los Angeles Rams are 2 and 4. Matt Stafford was coming off like an MVP season. They traded for Miles Garrett. Aaron Donald came out of retirement. They thought this team was going to win the super bowl this year. They're 2 and 4. Jordan Love has not been great in Green Bay. Dak Prescott in, in Dallas is usually a fantasy monster and they've been awful on offense. You know, Caleb Williams tore his butt and can't get back on the field. [01:07:40] Ronnie Jams: They came back this week. He was there. [01:07:43] Kenny Thunder: And, but, but what I'm saying though is even though, even when they're healthy, like a lot of these guys aren't putting up big numbers, the Bills have struggled a little bit this year. [01:07:51] Ronnie Jams: Josh Allen's been pretty bad for several games. [01:07:52] Kenny Thunder: You know, all the guys even that we expect to be great. It, it's. And I don't know what the exact factor is right. Like, I don't know if it's just like defensive line play has caught up to, to NFL offenses now and the pass rushers are so much better than they once were. I don't know if it's. Offensive lines have gotten consistent considerably worse over time. Like is the prospect pool and the talent level going down because of the difference in college offenses and the schemes they run and what's expected and demanded at the NFL level. But I, I just think the most interesting one is the level of quarterback play that we've seen across the league has, has fallen off. And we keep talking about even the running numbers, right? Like the Browns running game has been atrocious but they're not anywhere close to like the bottom five in the, they're, they're sitting on, you know, I don't know, 20 or 21 or 20. Like they're, they're not the worst. There are teams, there are a number of teams that are worse right now at running the ball. There are a Number of teams of the NFL right now that are worse. [01:08:57] Ronnie Jams: Eight teams worse than them than the Browns. [01:09:00] Kenny Thunder: Like, that's. It's almost unthinkable because half of our yards every game come from DeSean Watson running away on busted plays, and we haven't been able to run the ball, and they're still putting up more yards than 17. So I guess my point is like. Like maybe the NFL is hard, and I don't know that anyone else has it figured out either. [01:09:19] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Bone thoughts on the Browns this year? [01:09:24] Speaker E: I mean, I feel like we've kind of already talked about it. [01:09:27] Kenny Thunder: Phone is sounding froggy. [01:09:29] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:09:30] Ronnie Jams: We'll protect your voice the rest of this time. [01:09:32] Speaker E: Myself. Our defense is really good. They keep us in games. [01:09:37] Ronnie Jams: This is the Burning river sportscast where you come to us for the. The same day over and over and over again. Yeah. All right. So I think we're all in agreeance. I mean, this is just not sustainable. But we'll. We'll kind of see where it goes, I guess. [01:09:52] Speaker E: I don't know. [01:09:52] Kenny Thunder: All we can do is hang on for the ride. [01:09:54] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. All right, so that was the recap. And to talk a little bit more about what's going on with the Browns now and. And even get into a little bit of what's to come this week, especially down there in Nashville, let's bring in our foreign relations corn sponsors. [01:10:07] Kenny Thunder: Corn. [01:10:08] Ronnie Jams: Our foreign relations correspondent. [01:10:10] Kenny Thunder: Correspondent. [01:10:11] Ronnie Jams: Friend of the show, dear friend of the show, Kenny. [01:10:13] Speaker A: Matt. [01:10:27] Ronnie Jams: All right, guys. [01:10:28] Speaker C: That's right. [01:10:28] Ronnie Jams: It's time for foreign relations with Kenny Mack, dear friend of the show, Kenny Mack. Yeah, right, baby. Hell yeah, man. [01:10:36] Speaker A: Oh, man. [01:10:37] Speaker F: Are you guys pumped, man? 4 and 2 atop of the division. And in that 4 and 2, we got wins over the Ravens and the Steelers. And there's a lot of crying in those cities right now, man. So we'll sleep on their tears, I guess. [01:10:52] Ronnie Jams: All of that is good stuff. I will tell you. This is probably the worst I can imagine feeling after going 4 and 2 and beating those two teams because it's [01:11:02] Kenny Thunder: been a weird time. [01:11:03] Ronnie Jams: It's just really difficult to watch at times. But we do keep on winning, so I keep on winning. Know nobody can take that away from the Browns. [01:11:11] Speaker F: Yeah. Hey, that's one of the biggest conversations that I get into about Cleveland right now. And you guys hit the nail on the head at sustainability. And while we love our defense, we can talk all day about how awesome swinger is. We can talk about how awesome that safety room has been playing. Even we've been. I. I don't know about you guys, but I was worried about the depth hump on the, for the defensive backs. But there's times when actually Miles Hark actually pops, you know what I mean? And then our defensive line comes along. But you notice I'm talking about one thing here, defense. Because when we get to that offensive side, whoa, man, is it ever frustrating. I, I didn't even know yesterday, number one on the defensive line, who was going to show up. Number two, are we going to stop Henry? Like, I didn't. I thought he was going to run for 250 yards on us yesterday. And the way that game starts started, I know you guys were probably like me. You're like, man, Here comes the 40 burger. We're done, we're done. And that games, that game was a hard watch. 95% of it. I don't care who you got, who is watching this right now and you're gonna say you're being negative. I guarantee, just like my Brownsbackers crew, if you were sitting there for 95 of the game, you wanted everybody out of that game or that game. [01:12:31] Ronnie Jams: Literally every time I walked back to the tv. So like I, you know, go take a restroom break or I was at a kid's birthday party too. So I was like grabbing something to drink or grabbing food or taking care of my daughter, whatever. Every time I come back to the tv as I'm walking up, there's a piss poor play from our offense and I'm just like, that was a good play. Or I'd walk up and they'd flash the stats at the bottom of the screen. It's middle of the third quarter. I'm like, oh look, DeSean Watson's 9 of 16 for 76 yards. [01:12:55] Kenny Thunder: Great. I will say before we, before we jump into the, the offense because I'm sure that'll be where we spend the bulk of the discussion. I do to just say like I'm so pleasantly surprised by the way this defense has performed this year. Like you mentioned Miles Harden. Like a lot of guys have stepped up. You know, you lose obviously Myles Garrett on that defensive line and it's kind of like rushed by committee now, but it's worked out. They are still creating pressure and getting to the quarterback and being disruptive. So like this defense has been fun to watch and then frankly it's keeping us in games. But I think just personally, like I didn't have, I didn't have the same expectations for this unit that I had going into last year. I thought there would be a pretty Considerable drop off with Jim Schwartz leaving, with Miles leaving. And to be fair, like they've held up their end of the bargain all year long and have been pretty fantastic [01:13:44] Ronnie Jams: besides that first game. [01:13:45] Speaker F: Well, that first game, I don't even know if they knew that they were supposed to show up. I don't know what was going on in that. [01:13:53] Ronnie Jams: The entire team. Nobody. [01:13:54] Speaker F: Yeah, that's nobody. Not even the special teams. And you know, you're kind of dropped off a cliff there. And then once they beat Tampa Bay, then you're like, okay, maybe they got something. And then they got on a roll against Carolina, they're playing tough at home and like all that kind of stuff. And again, I just want to reiterate what you said. Like number one, we're four and two, you know, number two, that defense is elite. Number three, though, you got to give DeSean Watson his credit. At the end of the game, he gets it done. Whether it's a field goal, it's a touchdown or whatever we need, then that defense bails them out because they're closing out most of those games. That didn't happen this week. Obviously we kicked the field goal to win, but I mean, it's been good. And the other thing is, is really last year against the jets, how did we really lose? Special teams, how do we lose against the Bengals last year? Special teams. Special teams have been good. I'm not going to say they're elite, but they have been better than good for what we've seen. We're not, we're. Other than that fumble that we had from, from Corley, like good field position. The, the field goals are going through like kickers are going to miss field goals. That's just the way that's what happens. [01:15:06] Speaker C: Right. [01:15:07] Speaker F: And that's been a bright spot as well. So our young, dynamic playmakers are fantastic. We just need to get them the ball a little bit more. I'll let you guys get into the offense a little bit more real quick too. [01:15:20] Kenny Thunder: I would just reiterate around Andre Schmidt. Like, obviously young guy struggled a little bit early, but like has been lights out ever since. And you know, I think it was, it was a blessing in disguise the fact that we were able to have him miss, you know, a field goal and kind of break the, the consecutive field goal streak because it didn't end up hurting us. They ended up winning the game. But now you eliminate a mental component that, that just is natural. I think if, if you're a human being that that's pressure starts to build when you have A streak like that going. So I think the fact that we get to start over now probably is. Is the best thing for everybody. [01:15:57] Speaker F: Yeah, no, absolutely, man. [01:15:58] Speaker A: I'm. [01:15:59] Speaker F: I'm happy having him as a kick kicker, man. It's fantastic. [01:16:02] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, absolutely. I know we're bouncing around a little bit here, but I do one more thing with the defense. I mean, the defense as, as we've talked about has been phenomenal thus far. [01:16:12] Speaker C: The. [01:16:13] Ronnie Jams: The one thing I want to ask though is, is, you know what's funny about the defense is the one guy that we thought would have no question marks seems to be the only guy not showing up right now, and that's Jared Verse. We haven't really heard his name much. Do you have any thoughts there on. On what's going on with him at how they. Why they're not able to kind of break him free and get him home? I mean, we're six games in. He doesn't have a single sack, so. [01:16:37] Speaker F: He doesn't have a sack. But here's what I'll tell you about him, and this is what I like about him. It doesn't matter what his stats are. I think his leadership matters the most. And unfortunately, it's not a tangible thing you can see, however, I don't know if you guys will agree with this. Anytime something happens, Jared versus their high five and the guys go to him as a leader and go, hey, we did it, or whatever. Like he has a hold on that locker room and people are getting after it. The other thing is, is he is collapsing the pocket or. Sorry, not. He's setting the edge. I mean, except for that touchdown run against the Jets. But I'm not going to get into that. I'm not going to get that. You know what I mean? It was wet. It was awful. It was. I mean, they were getting sold out on. On the defense. He must have been tired. It is what it is. But that being said, I think there's a real leadership quality to him. And I'm not saying that Miles is not a leader, but I think Miles led by example. I think Jared Verse is a fiery guy that's going to fire up the team and get them another notch higher. And that's what I like about him. But do I want to see stats? Absolutely. It'll come. I think there's a transition. When you go from standing to your. Your hand in the ground, Miles, you look. He looked lost from the one game that I saw him play against the Raiders. Sor. For the Rams. I meant to say, and I Think that's something that's got to come along a little bit. He'll, he'll get that feel out. But I, ultimately, I'm happy with the leadership. [01:18:06] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, I agree with all that, I guess. Is there, is there a point in time where you think you would start to have some concern, you know, if he just makes it through this entire season without a sack and is a great leader and, you know, all those things, like, is there a point that you start to go, you know, hey, you know, we had an idea that you were an ascending pass rusher and we really haven't seen that. [01:18:30] Speaker F: It depends how much they win, I guess. It's like with everything with this team, right, I think he can get away with maybe five sacks and if they have a plot like a 10 win season, maybe people forget about that for what he was. And like he was like a first round draft pick. That was like, like a cement for us with stats that was coming from the, the Rams. That was a whole different unit that he played with. He's got to get used to this. I think it's like our offensive line is going to take at least half a season to get used to it. He'll probably be the same, but as long as he has that fire and he's not, you know, selling out on the, on the run like he did against the jets, then I'll be happy. [01:19:14] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. No, those are all good points. I guess what I would say is, and this is, this is where I get concerned kind of already I know that, that we're winning right now. Nobody's really talking about it, but where I'm concerned is all these wins have been by like three points each. Like, what if we lost most of those games and we're sitting at 2 and 4 right now? It's a, it's a way different story on Jared Verse. No matter how well, how good of a leader he is in the locker room, everyone's going to be screaming about how he's, how he's not doing anything on the field. So, and you know, I'm not, I'm not saying this to, to, you know, say that there's really anything that needs to be done at this moment. I'm just saying, like, to me it's a, it's a concern even though we are winning right now, because you start, you start losing a couple games and it, it, it gets loud pretty quick. [01:20:01] Kenny Thunder: Well, I would just add to that. I think that the fact that the defensive line in general has been productive has been a blessing in Disguise for him. Because if the rest of the defensive line has been quiet to this point. [01:20:12] Speaker E: Point. [01:20:13] Kenny Thunder: And he wasn't doing anything, I think you'd have a lot more questions. But because they've been able to get pressure and get to the quarterback, it's less of an issue. But yeah, you know what? [01:20:23] Speaker F: I would have to see his pressure rate because you guys are bringing up some great points here. I, I don't know what his pressure rate is across with everybody else that starts. One thing I do know is that he, I know he is generating some pressure. If it's the most on the team, I wouldn't. Couldn't tell you right now. But there is something about him being on this team and the entire defensive line being the winning 100% helps. If we were 0 for 6, it'd probably be a different story. You're are, you're exactly right. You're like, where's the, where's this first round talent that. That's, that's supposed to be here with all these stats right now? [01:21:00] Ronnie Jams: All of this being said and you know, I just brought up all that. I will, I will say this kind of on the record here, just so everybody knows it. I know Anthony Lima went out there. I don't know how you feel about most of Cleveland's media, but I'm, I'll name Anthony Lima. I don't have a problem with that. Anthony Lima went out there and he put, he, he kind of cherry picked a specific play. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about. [01:21:21] Speaker F: And he. [01:21:21] Ronnie Jams: We were doing like a twist stunt on defense where Jared Verse was just crossing the entire offensive line so that the rest of the defensive line could come in behind him and kind of go opposite direction and try and get home for a sack. So Jared Verse literally, like, it comes. He comes off the, the line of scrimmage, goes left. It just kind of keeps going left and doesn't really do anything. And Anthony Lima post us, like, this is the guy we traded for. He's out of the play. He's anything. [01:21:45] Kenny Thunder: Are you saying that's hat journalism? [01:21:46] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I was just like, I was like, you got to be kidding. Like. And I've, I've called out Anthony Lima a number of times because I'm sure he listens to our show and takes notes. But I'm just like, this guy, every turn shows how much he doesn't know about football. I think it's clearly a design because look at us. Yeah, I mean, that's where we're At. But I was just like, you got to be kidding me. Like this, this is just a terrible take. [01:22:09] Speaker F: Yeah, that's. And you'll get that with any, any guys that in. Across any team like that just happen. They need to get their clicks, they need to get their stuff up. I mean, that's what they're going to do, Right? So that, like you said, was specifically designed for something. I don't know what it was. I don't know what the context was either. I can't remember the play. But I'm sure, I'm sure Jared Verse will be fine. I'm sure he'll be fine by the end of the year. [01:22:34] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [01:22:34] Kenny Thunder: And I don't think we mean to like drag down Jared Verse. Like, we should probably talk about the offense because that's where we. [01:22:40] Ronnie Jams: I got hung up on Jerry Verse. Yeah, we got a. Yeah, that is where we need to take a. Because the offense is terrible. [01:22:46] Speaker F: Oh, man. We're like, where do you start? You know, guys, I, there. I keep going on. When I, when I speak on, on my podcast that I go on, I basically say with DeShawn Watson, okay, you [01:22:57] Ronnie Jams: can name them, you could name, drop them, you can plug them a little bit. [01:23:00] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, the Dogs podcast. And when we get on there, my, my, my problem with Desean Watson is he's a 10 year veteran, but he still doesn't hit guys in stride. And what I mean by that is when you a route, there's a certain way that you go, let's talk about backs out of the backfield, okay. You got to hit a back out of the backfield in the flats. You give the ball to the playmaker because their name is playmaker, because they make plays. So when McLaughlin was coming out of the backfield this week, right, whether he's going left or right out into the flats, you know, you want to hit him in stride probably about a yard or two, two before the line of scrimmage in stride so he can get out to the linebacker. That's if he's open so he can make a move and get about 10 yards because that's what people do to us. He doesn't ever hit him in stride. He hits them. So they have to stop, they have to reach back, they have to, you know, jump in the air. Like they got conception, they got Boston for a reason. Because these guys got great catch radiuses because that's what you need for this quarterback. But he never hits him in stride and that except Jerry Judy at the end of the game because it's the fourth quarter, and that's what he does, you know? But I think even if you look at the. The replay, unless I'm confusing it with another play, I think Jerry had to go back and get it right. If he would have put it right on the hands ahead of him, which you're supposed to do for that play, then Maybe it's not 33 yards, maybe it's 50 yards. Who knows? Right? [01:24:33] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [01:24:35] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. I mean, I just look at it and I just look at the entire body of work over the course of a game, and, And I would even gr. You like, the throw to Judy at the end of the game was the most important throw of the game. It was a good throw. Obviously, they completed it into position to win the game. But, like, you, You. You have to be able to do more than that. [01:24:52] Speaker E: Right? [01:24:52] Kenny Thunder: Like, we can't just keep relying on, hey, there's going to be at least one play at the end of the game where he's going to make, and we're just going to count on that. [01:24:59] Ronnie Jams: Like, well, again, it's just not a sustainable formula. You can't just not play for three and a half quarters and then say, yeah, but we played for eight minutes. So that was pretty good. [01:25:08] Kenny Thunder: It was the most important eight minutes. [01:25:10] Ronnie Jams: And, and, and if you listen to even Todd, and I like Todd Monkin, this is not a shot shot at Todd Monkin. But if you listen to Todd Monkin or you listen to DeShawn Watson talk about himself after these games, you'd think the dude's out there throwing for 325 yards a game. Like, he was literally 16 of 26 for 164 yards. And it's like, well, yeah, I just wanted to go out there and do it for my team. Like, you didn't do any. You didn't do anything. You did. You made two good throws this entire afternoon, and then you. You let everybody know that it was you that won the game. It just bothers me. [01:25:46] Speaker F: Yeah. 173.5 yards a game. That's what we average. That is 25th in the league right now. And believe it or not, Browns fans, there are guys that throw for 250 yards all the time. There's actually guys that throw for 300 all the time. And I can't, like, I get. [01:26:05] Kenny Thunder: Get the. [01:26:05] Speaker F: I get. [01:26:06] Ronnie Jams: Those are the guys that should be making 230 million. [01:26:09] Speaker F: Exactly, exactly. Like, we treat this guy kind of like he's a rookie almost again. And I get. He's had a lot of time off but you got to be better. Let's just get back to. Let's go to reading a defense. What's the typical pass play for the Cleveland Browns? We hut the ball. He goes on his drop back, goes on his drawback. Does he ever pass when he hits the top of his drop back? Never. He goes to the left and he makes something happen or not, you know, get sacked or not. When is it, when is he going to learn the offense where he's at the top of his drop and he just lets it rip other than the last drive of the game, you know, you got to let that. You got to let that ball rip, man. [01:26:54] Kenny Thunder: Yep, Kenny. So, you know, we could probably talk about this offense all night long, but I guess just try and try and in the interest of brevity, try and consolidate a little bit of our thoughts here. Like desean, obviously some issues there. The running game has been atrocious. This offensive line I think has given up 24, 25 sacks. I think they're second in the NFL. And sex like level of concern across those three position groups, like which one do you think is DEFCON 1 for this team right now in order in terms of like trying to fix. [01:27:26] Speaker F: I would say it has to be the quarterback. I would say because I get the offensive line, the trenches. It starts with everything. But there was a point where our offensive line and the pass game was ascending. Right. I thought that, I thought the running backs were serviceable for this game. Like now just, just wait a second here. Like I said, serviceable and say good. Okay. And what it like because you have, you basically have the Denver Broncos backfield from last. McLaughlin wasn't on the team what, two, three weeks ago and estimate just showed up on Monday, decided to score a touchdown like that's that, that's wild that they were able to do that with that little bit of experience. Like the 50 or 50 man roster, all the running backs that made that team, they're not playing. They didn't play last week, you know, so that, that was. I saw. I'll say it loosely. Good enough. And then what happens is if the quarterback's not in sync with his offensive line, then you're not your receivers enough. One reception for the last two games per game for Harold Fannin is not enough. [01:28:39] Ronnie Jams: The entire league. Receivers and tight ends in separation yards. [01:28:44] Speaker F: Yeah. So I mean, why is this guy not getting it? It goes back to the quarterback. I said when he gets to the top of his drop back, that pig skin isn't being fired out of his hand. And it's a him thing. It's of a part problem. He's either afraid to throw it or he doesn't trust his armor. I don't know what it is. Or he can't read a defense. It's got to be it. [01:29:04] Ronnie Jams: As of last week and I haven't, I haven't seen the update yet from pff, but as of last week I think he was averaging 5.5 yards of separation. Like that's a le. Think about the diameter there. That's like nobody's around you on any given. And Kenny made the point last week. He said our Kenny, not you. Kenny made the point last week. That, that, that's an average. So sometimes he's way more open than that and we can't seem to get him the ball. I mean I, to me like things like that are where, yeah, we're winning games but you start looking at stuff like this and the guy that is the most open in the entire league, we cannot get the ball to. [01:29:46] Speaker F: Yeah. And that's super concerning. And again, like when people are listening to this podcast right now, again like this, this isn't us trying to be negative. This is, this is us trying to tell you guys that this winning is happening, but the sustainability isn't there. And there's something special that the Browns are doing with this defense. This offense could possibly screw up and with stats like you're saying right now that's going to happen because of the quarterback in my, in my estimation. You know, I think for whatever reason in that three game win streak that we had after we left lost to the Jacksonville, he actually started to step up into the pocket and fire the, the pigskin. And that was the biggest criticism I had of him in 2024. He's regressed these last two games where it's like get your drop back now. Start running. I, I don't know why he can't navigate the pocket right now. Maybe it's. There's just something coming. I'm not sure as far as like with their cohesion, he's not comfortable. Maybe it's just a free rusher every time that's just got him spooked. I don. But like I'm watching the games. I think he can fire the pig skin. It's not happening. [01:31:00] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [01:31:01] Kenny Thunder: So you know, again, obviously a number, a number of issues there, things that they have to improve, but they are winning. [01:31:08] Ronnie Jams: That's true. [01:31:08] Kenny Thunder: You know, if you could put your finger on anything, I mean, what's the. And maybe it's one of Those intangible things, right? [01:31:14] Ronnie Jams: Like, hold on, timeout. Before we get to the winning, I. I had one more negative thing that I want to ask him about, and this is serious because we've been talking about it since last season, since midway through last season, right before his injury. And it's quinch on Judkins. He started out great for the Browns his rookie season. I mean, the first few games, he was averaging like 100 yards a game or whatever it was and like 5 yards carry. Since then, basically since like week four of last season, he's averaging under. I think it's under 2 yards of carry. I think he's averaging like 1.9 yards of carry. And I know there's problems with the offensive line, but I just wanted to get your opinion on this. I mean, I threw out the B word the other day. This is a couple weeks ago now. Kenny told me I was a little premature, but. Story of my life. But I don't know, the more. The longer this goes on and I know he's injured and didn't play this week, but I still. Since you're on, I want your opinion. I mean, I don't know. I think we might have to start looking for a running back sooner than we thought we would. [01:32:18] Speaker F: I liked what I saw out of McLaughlin, first of all, I thought he hit a lot of holes and made some stuff happen. It's super manufactured. They really dumbed down the run game. I can't recall in the last game that they even like swept outside. They had one jet screen. I know that our jet run, right And. But they really stuck to counters off tackle and dives. I thought if you're doing that, it means a line struggling. The other thing is, I think if you look in pff, Judkins is like the most hit behind or I guess all our running backs are the most hit behind the line of scrimmage depth. [01:32:54] Speaker C: Right. [01:32:54] Speaker F: If you take a look, I didn't play offensive line. I was a defensive tackle, a defensive end, and I was a linebacker in high school. But one thing that you could do as a linebacker, you would feast if the offensive line didn't know how to pass people off. Move the second level. These guys haven't played enough football to move the second level yet. I don't ever see it. Linebackers have big games against us because we don't do that. You saw it in the preseason and you sit. You're seeing it now. Once they start moving on and passing off and getting out into the second level, that's when the whole, the holes start to be created and I just don't see that one thing that they, they say it on the telecast. Like, if you watch the games, the telecasters go, look, these two guys are blocking one defensive tackle. Somebody should have let that guy go and gone on to the linebacker. And it never happens. And I don't think you can blame John. [01:33:50] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. That's fair. [01:33:51] Kenny Thunder: And I would agree too. I mean, I think it seems like so much of the run game right now is predicated on, you know, interior run. And I know you got to be able to run the ball between the tackles to move the change. That's important. But it does feel like this offense has been severely lacking any kind of, like, outside zone concepts off tackle. Like, they need to get these guys in space and give them a chance to do something with the football. And it seems like. And we've seen very little of it, but it feels like those have been some of the more successful run plays that we have had to this point. [01:34:17] Speaker F: Yeah, well, they're, they're successful with the fullback. I mean, when he's in. But then you're tipping off the defense to what you're doing. So it, it's, it's tough. The, the tight end blocking is just not there. David Najoku has been a big loss. I don't think White Hart or Fanon are the blockers even close to what Najoku was. And then after that, like, I mean, what's our tight end room doing? Are, are running back backs are. Every single game, they are missing blocks as well. So I mean, it's, it's tough and that's more the pass game, but they still have to do something if you got a double backfield, you know, so it's, it's, it's tough across the board. [01:35:01] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. Sorry I derailed you there. [01:35:02] Speaker F: Go ahead. [01:35:02] Ronnie Jams: Get out of the positive. Get out of the positive. [01:35:04] Kenny Thunder: So anyway, the. Despite a laundry list of problems that we need to get fixed and, and they'll fix it and they'll get better. [01:35:11] Ronnie Jams: Kevin Stefanski is not here anymore. We don't say that. [01:35:13] Kenny Thunder: We don't. [01:35:13] Ronnie Jams: You don't have to say that. [01:35:14] Kenny Thunder: You know, they are winning games. They are winning games. They're in first place in the division. Like, if you could put your finger on anything, like, what is the difference right now? Like, are they just incredibly lucky? Is it coincidence? Is it just circumstance? Or is there something real happening behind the scenes here? [01:35:33] Speaker F: I would say it's culture. I mean, at the, at the end of the day. Like, we got into Jared Verse a little bit. He's been a game changer as far as leadership's concerned. The way he speaks, the way he carries himself, you can see it kind of permeates through all the other players. Right. On the flip side, on the offense, they got younger. There's a never give up attitude. You can say what you want about desean Watson. If you don't like him, you don't like him. The one thing is he believes in himself and he thinks he's going to win every game if you listen to him. And that carries on through the end of the fourth quarter, and that seems to have won them games. The other thing is, is Todd Monkin knows offense and he can squeeze enough out of this offense to get enough more points on the board than the other team. And that's what's kind of worked for them, in my opinion. [01:36:22] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. And I will say, I mean, the monkey. We talked at length already about Jared Verse, but Monken has grown on me as the season has gone. We kind of poked fun at him a little bit because I don't. And I'm not. I don't think this is a dig. I think everybody knows that he wasn't really the first choice at coach. [01:36:39] Speaker A: First. [01:36:39] Ronnie Jams: Anybody out there. [01:36:40] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:36:41] Ronnie Jams: In this. In this previous cycle. So when they landed on him, we kind of poked fun at it. We kind of were like, I don't know, you know, Never really. But I will tell you what he's. He. Every week that we squeak out one of these wins, I'm like, I'm a [01:36:56] Speaker A: little [01:36:58] Ronnie Jams: confused on how I'm supposed to feel about the wins, but I'm not confused on how I'm supposed to feel about Todd Monken because he's getting the absolute, Absolute most out of. Not very much on offense. [01:37:09] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:37:09] Speaker C: And. [01:37:10] Ronnie Jams: And we're coming up with wins, and I can't really ask for anything more than that. [01:37:12] Kenny Thunder: So when I think you said Kenny Mack, which is he's squeezing every last ounce of any credible football out of these guys, like, whatever that is and whatever the situation calls for, like, he's getting it out of them. There is some kind of belief across that team right now that. That they don't have to be victims of the history of the Browns, that they can change it and chart their own course. [01:37:35] Ronnie Jams: And we talked about it last week. Huge example that you don't really look at very often when you think of culture change with the Browns is what was Jerry Judy doing last year when he wasn't getting the ball. He was crying, he was yelling, he was sulking. He was screaming at everybody on the sidelines this year. I mean, his body language at times isn't the best, but he's keeping his mouth shut, he's keeping his head down, and he keeps playing. And I think that speaks to a coach that's kind of no nonsense on the side sidelines. [01:38:04] Speaker C: Like, we're not gonna. [01:38:04] Ronnie Jams: If you're gonna do that shit, we're just gonna ship you out of here. [01:38:06] Kenny Thunder: I don't care. [01:38:08] Ronnie Jams: And Jerry Judy's kind of fallen in line and he's come up with big plays at the end of games to help us win. And I think that has a lot to do with what Todd Monkin is doing here as a head coach. [01:38:17] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:38:18] Speaker F: And I think it goes. He has a veteran staff under him that he trusts. I mean, what's his name? Travis Switzer. He's been around forever with Monken and he trusts him. George Warhop, man, Grizzly veteran o line coach. Man, you. That guy's seen a lot. And I think that holds a lot of guys accountable. I can't remember the quarterback Joe Thomas [01:38:41] Ronnie Jams: was singing his praises before he came here. [01:38:43] Speaker F: Yeah, there's. Vajakian is a quarterback coach. He's been around, seen a lot as well. So all these guys that. When you have a lot of experience in the NFL, I think it guys really listen and that young offense is doing that right now. But really, at the end of the day, I think the Browns knew that they had something in this defense and I think they hired Todd Monken because I think we averaged what, 16.8 points a game last year. Unfortunately, we're only at 17, but when we were on our win streak, that was a. That was 20 points. They really hired him for like four or five more points because they believe this defense can keep guys under 20. And this is the way that it's going to be while they're developing this team. But now let's get back to it with Monken. He is known in the NFL for being a receivers coach. That how he starts. He's had a ton of great receivers in his life. We got some great receivers right now. The thing is we're not getting the ball. We got to get them developed. And that's the way I think it's got to go for the next part of this season. And it all starts in Tennessee this week. We got to get after it and get 20 plus points on this board. [01:39:47] Ronnie Jams: More likely scenario for. For going into next season. One of These college quarterbacks that seem to be worse and worse every week and some of them are benched. Or do you think that there's a better chance that Shador Sanders is the starter next year? [01:40:01] Kenny Thunder: Or do you. Deshaun Watson, man, that is. [01:40:04] Speaker F: That is a tough one. I don't think it'll be Watson. I think that Chip will sell. I mean, based on the money, based on the fans, even based on management, I don't. I don't know how you would manage the salary cap with that. I would really have to take a look in that. But I mean, if you're getting like, what's he gonna want? Like another like 50 million a year? Like, and he's averaging 178 yards of a game. Like, I just don't. [01:40:27] Ronnie Jams: 50 million a year. [01:40:28] Speaker F: But what if. Yeah, but I know, right? [01:40:31] Kenny Thunder: 10 games. [01:40:34] Speaker F: I don't know, man. I think that. I think that. I think Blake brought this up on the podcast. Rex Grossman, he brought the guy, he brought the Bears all the way to the Super Bowl. Did they even sign him the next year? I don't even know. Or he was gone the year after. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. So I mean, you got to know when your quarterbacks producing, I think they know exactly where they are, but they're going to support their guy and that's what they did. And this support has got us a bunch of winners wins. So that's. [01:41:03] Ronnie Jams: So if he's not watching, I'm hoping you do an answer here. Is it more likely we get Shador Sanders or one of the college quarterbacks? [01:41:10] Speaker F: The thing is, is Shador didn't beat him out. Now I just don't know if it's going to be that much better down the road. Right. For him. I would think that Shador needs some more time. I think he was given a big pile of poop last year and did what he could with it as a rookie. So let's see now there's some. Some talent, you know, out there with our two rookie receivers who are dynamic and let's see what he can do with that because I would love to [01:41:35] Ronnie Jams: see that Kenny appreciates your self censoring there. [01:41:39] Speaker F: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I thought we got in a little trouble with it on our podcast, so I had to be careful what I say. [01:41:45] Ronnie Jams: But you know, listen, listen. We just let it rip over here. We don't really care. [01:41:49] Speaker A: I. [01:41:49] Ronnie Jams: The bombs that I drop on every episode, it's. Oh, good, good, good. [01:41:53] Kenny Thunder: Okay, you're not listening for that. You're not listening Anyway, so yeah, so it just sounds to me then like either you think maybe Shador will maybe get the shot next year or if Shador is not ready then you think maybe they bring in just an outside veteran to continue to be kind of a bridge guy. [01:42:08] Speaker F: Yeah, I would think so. You know what, it's kind of weird guys. I said last year we should have kept Huntley. I liked him. I thought he was a baller. I'm not saying he's going to be starting quality. I'm just saying he's a guy that could have bailed us out a bit last year, you know what I mean? And he just is a gamer and I hate using that. But I mean when we, when we drafted Harold Fannin, like I don't know about you guys, I was pound the table for him. You know what I was saying about Harold Fannin Jr. He's a gamer. I don't. There's no other way to say it because the intangibles like the physical traits aren't there but he just makes it happen. You know what I mean? So got to get him the ball. Get a Huntley type guy got his mobile and, and we'll go there. But I'm still, I don't know about quarterback yet. I haven't put enough research into it to, to commit myself to something. But I do like Shador. I do like him. [01:43:01] Ronnie Jams: All right, Kenny, well listen, we, we would love to have you on all night. Just be a part of the entire show. Unfortunately we will have to bring in the bone man at some point and have him join the show as well or else people are going to get restless. [01:43:12] Speaker F: Oh, you got, you got Brian coming in. [01:43:15] Ronnie Jams: No, we got. I said the bone man. [01:43:16] Kenny Thunder: We got our own bone man. [01:43:17] Ronnie Jams: We got our own bone over here. [01:43:18] Speaker F: Oh, I gotcha. I'll, I'll, I'll quick put out the Middle Tennessee Browns backers. Guys, I am heading down to Nashville and the Middle Tennessee Browns backers are going to have a kick ass bash all weekend long. It starts on Friday. Those guys have bus trips for everybody to see all of Nashville. Then their backer bash is Saturday night at 7pm you can find this all out on Facebook with just on their Facebook forum. [01:43:47] Ronnie Jams: So we'll be re sharing some of this stuff too. We don't have Brian, we have. Craig will be on later today from Middle Tennessee Brownsbackers. [01:43:53] Speaker F: Oh good, good. Right on. So Ernie, I'd be. I talked to Ernie the president and then next up obviously they got the tailgate and the, the going to the game, so have a blast with that. Also Rodney from the Lakewood Brownsbackers, he's got a bus trip planned. Guys, that's in collaboration with Pumpkin Nation. The Gnats tailgating. You guys have all done that before. You find that on all the socials. I'm going to be doing that stuff. I'm going to be going on the bar crawls. I'm going to go to the tailgate with the Gnats. I love partying with those guys. I want to see you guys down there. Let's go Brownies. Come on. Come on down. Have a good time in Nashville. [01:44:30] Ronnie Jams: Yeehaw. [01:44:31] Kenny Thunder: Hell yeah. Kenny Mac, are you flying, driving or swimming across? What are you doing? How are you getting down here? [01:44:36] Speaker F: I. I gotta fly from here. I gotta fly. [01:44:38] Kenny Thunder: Nice. [01:44:39] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, swimming wouldn't be fun at this time of year. [01:44:43] Speaker F: Yeah, that would not be fun. [01:44:44] Ronnie Jams: No. But again, Kenny, thank you so much for Jo. We definitely gotta, gotta get together with you, catch up here, you know, in real life. Have a beer, hang out a little bit. But thanks for joining us. We appreciate it and we'll talk to you again soon. [01:44:58] Speaker F: Let's go Browns. [01:45:15] Ronnie Jams: Good having Kenny Mack on, huh? [01:45:17] Kenny Thunder: Kenny, strong name. [01:45:19] Ronnie Jams: It is a strong name unless it's on you and then. But he was able to give us some, some really good insight. It's. It's nice. He just is very thoughtful when it comes to the Brown. [01:45:28] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, we love having Kenny Mack anytime we can get him. You know, he's always busy with those, that other podcast. So it's, it's good when we, I [01:45:34] Ronnie Jams: let, I let him plug him when [01:45:35] Kenny Thunder: we can, when we can steal him away. So we appreciate him joining us. [01:45:37] Ronnie Jams: We're just a little mad that they found him first. Kenny Mac's good dude. All right. With that, let's go ahead and get into the division roundup. All right. Only two division games this week as Cincinnati was on by. And then Cleveland and Baltimore played each other. So Pittsburgh, we'll start with Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh beat the Buccaneers 26 to 19 in overtime. Apparently that rookie quarterback over there is halfway decent. [01:46:12] Kenny Thunder: He's okay. [01:46:13] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. I mean, is there. We have a controversy brewing. Baker just got an extension. Literally just got one and then he got hurt. And now this guy seems to be okay. [01:46:22] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, yeah. I mean, they were struggling. They've been struggling all year. They win a lot of games and I don't know, it'll be interesting to see how that one plays out. [01:46:31] Speaker C: I don't know. [01:46:31] Kenny Thunder: They're in full fledged controversy yet. But, but if this kid. Kind of depends on how long Baker's out, I think that, you know, he thought he might be able to play this week, tough it out, but probably not until at least this week. So we'll see. [01:46:44] Ronnie Jams: Yep, we were all right there. [01:46:46] Kenny Thunder: And then the more surprising thing is that Pittsburgh is kind of good. [01:46:49] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I don't. I think they're fraudulent, too. I think the bad thing is I think they might be better than the Browns. Did you see. [01:46:58] Kenny Thunder: I think it was Mike McCarthy this week, got hurt standing. There were a bunch of. There were a bunch of memes like he tore his fat standing. Like that was the injury. [01:47:09] Speaker E: He had to. [01:47:09] Kenny Thunder: Like he spent time in the medical tent after halftime. I think so. I don't. It was just funny because there was [01:47:15] Ronnie Jams: a lot of, like, anytime people were making fun of the Steelers. I love it. I don't care what it's about. But we were all right there. And then Cleveland obviously beat the Ravens in. In a defensive battle, 13 to 10. We were all wrong. So obviously nobody got the correct score for the AFC North. The Browns are on top at 4 and 2, followed by. Well, we're tied with Pittsburgh and Baltimore, but we hold the tiebreaker there. We beat both of them. So we're on top of the division at 4 and 2, and Cincinnati is at 3 and 2. [01:47:42] Speaker C: All. [01:47:42] Ronnie Jams: Who would have had that? Everybody's above.500 through six weeks. [01:47:46] Kenny Thunder: It's a good division, Maybe the best in football. [01:47:50] Ronnie Jams: I guess so. In current King of the north standings, Bone and Kenny tied at top at 11 and 9, and I am trailing still. And every week it gets harder and harder. It's 8 and 12. [01:48:01] Kenny Thunder: We really need to land on a punishment. [01:48:03] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, we were supposed to have it by today, but there's a lot of moving parts to the show. Yeah, have it eventually. Next week. Next week. But that'll take us to around. We'll take a quick trip around the NFL. All right, so we mentioned Jalen Hurts at the top of the show. Some other injury news. Devonte S. Adams, ruptured hamstring. That's a pretty bad one. He's out quite a bit of time. [01:48:38] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, that feels bad. [01:48:40] Ronnie Jams: I had a torn quad, which is not a hamstring. Hamstrings are worse, but senior year of high school, if you guys remember, I dealt with that the entire year. It's not fun. Other big injuries this week. Anybody see anything? All right, next up here, the Packers Josh Jacobs and Broncos Jonathan Cooper have been removed from the commissioner's exempt list and are eligible to play this week. So anybody that's got Josh Jacobs and fantasy, myself included, some running back help is on the way. True. Until he suspended again. But this goes back to our discussion earlier. [01:49:24] Kenny Thunder: Right. [01:49:24] Ronnie Jams: This is all. [01:49:25] Kenny Thunder: I was going to take it. [01:49:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:49:27] Kenny Thunder: It's all about what you can do on the field. [01:49:29] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [01:49:29] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:49:29] Kenny Thunder: Nothing else matters. [01:49:31] Ronnie Jams: Nope. There's supposedly a video floating around here, here that still hasn't officially been sealed. The judge denied that. That motion NFL hasn't got their hands on. Sounds like Josh Jacobs is going to fight that tooth and nail. The NFL getting their hands on the video. But if they do, it also sounds like there's going to be more of a suspension coming. But he does get six games served already because that's how long he sat out. So we'll see how that plays out next. Up here, the Colts fire GM Chris Ballard after a 2 and 4 start. We just had a discussion about this last week with, with the owner on the sidelines taking notes and all of that. Sounds like Colts nation is pretty fired up right now. [01:50:10] Kenny Thunder: Just reignited the conversations. I mean, I, I've seen. [01:50:12] Ronnie Jams: Well, that and the fact that they lost to the Tennessee Titans. What a bunch of. Oh, my God. [01:50:17] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, yeah, that'll do it to you. That'll get you fired. But yeah, I mean, just kind of re through gas on the fire already of this conversation. That I, I guess the more that I continue to read this conversation and what they are kind of guarded against is the idea that coaches on their headsets are less willing to have honest conversation and honest dialogue about what's happening because someone is listening in and maybe that is negatively impacting the performance on the field or calls that they would make because they're, you know, kind of like Big Brother censoring over them. [01:50:54] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess I could see that a little bit. But why should it matter? [01:50:58] Kenny Thunder: I mean, I guess it would be [01:50:59] Ronnie Jams: like if you, you mentioned it. She's been around the team her entire life, so it's not like she's not used to hearing everything they're saying. [01:51:06] Kenny Thunder: Well, which is the other point of contention, right? Which is she's saying she has a fifth grade understanding of what's going on. Two decades in the league. But, but I think about it like, I guess if your boss was in the room with you at all times, would you carry yourself, handle yourself differently at times? If someone was always watching exactly the [01:51:27] Ronnie Jams: same, that would not change a thing. Not a single thing. [01:51:32] Kenny Thunder: Fair enough. [01:51:35] Ronnie Jams: Moving on. Next up here, C.J. gardner Johnson spit at Brock Bauer as his back was turned and was ejected from the game and suspended, I think the next two games by the NFL, I think, is what I saw. [01:51:47] Speaker E: That's gross. [01:51:47] Kenny Thunder: Spit like a man. [01:51:48] Ronnie Jams: That's gross. [01:51:49] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [01:51:49] Ronnie Jams: Wait till he's looking at you. [01:51:50] Kenny Thunder: Spit in my face. [01:51:52] Ronnie Jams: You like that? I mean, just classless. From C.J. gardner Johnson. He came out with the. One of those apologies that was written by somebody else. By him. Yeah. It's just like anybody that. That's your go to, like, you're kind of a piece of trash. [01:52:08] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [01:52:09] Ronnie Jams: So no love lost there. Next up here. Cowboys suck. Next up, Rams suck. So everybody suc. [01:52:18] Speaker E: Sucks. [01:52:20] Ronnie Jams: And then Miles Garrett, tracker. We haven't checked in on this in a while. How's he doing? Still hurt. [01:52:25] Kenny Thunder: Still hurt. [01:52:26] Ronnie Jams: And as I just mentioned, the Rams suck. So. [01:52:28] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, all bad. [01:52:29] Ronnie Jams: Yep. And then Kevin Tracker, Atlanta lost to Chicago this week, 31, 23. And the improbable and heroic turn. Return of Caleb Williams from that torn butt, as you so eloquently put it earlier. So, yeah, I just can't believe he made it back. It seemed like it was season ending and he's just superhuman, you know, so he's. He was back and he put the team on his back and he carried him to victory and he's just so good. [01:52:55] Kenny Thunder: He had a bit of a spat with a reporter this week who was asking about the injury. [01:52:58] Ronnie Jams: And, oh, he was so mad. He was like, no, it was misreported. Is that the one you talk about? [01:53:02] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, he's like, we're not talking about it. Next question. [01:53:04] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, and he tried to tell everybody it was misreported. He felt a pop and there was definitely a tear. If there was a tear, you would not be playing right now. [01:53:11] Kenny Thunder: Tear your butt. That's bad news. [01:53:13] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Get out of here. But anyways, the Falcons are sitting at 2 and 4 now, and I don't really hear so much of that Kevin Stefanski is a great coach talk anymore. [01:53:22] Kenny Thunder: Seems to have quieted down a bit. [01:53:23] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Yeah, they won like one. They won one game. Had another close game. They're like, this may be it. It wasn't it. But anyways, Kenny, that'll do it for. No, it won't. [01:53:34] Kenny Thunder: Antonio Brown tweets this week. [01:53:35] Ronnie Jams: Oh, yeah, you got. You got some for us. [01:53:37] Kenny Thunder: So 1. [01:53:38] Ronnie Jams: I like how this has become a segment on our show, and I'm. It is fantastic. [01:53:42] Kenny Thunder: Antonio Brown, serious question. Where do BYU students go after a game like this? Oh, man, this one was kind of funny. For anyone not familiar, Shane Gillis was under fire after some jokes that he told on snl. And Antonio Brown kind of playing on that said, maybe Sam Darnold would have played better if he wasn't so distracted by what you whores are wearing at the gym [01:54:14] Ronnie Jams: is just wilding out out there. [01:54:16] Kenny Thunder: And the final one, which I thought was quite poignant, the therapist and the stripper care about you the same amount. They just want your money. [01:54:26] Ronnie Jams: That's actually deep, man. [01:54:27] Kenny Thunder: Right? [01:54:28] Ronnie Jams: That's deep. [01:54:28] Kenny Thunder: Sometimes he does have some deep thoughts. [01:54:30] Ronnie Jams: Oh, man. [01:54:31] Speaker A: That. [01:54:31] Kenny Thunder: Maybe that's what we'll call the. The segment from now on. Deep thoughts with Antonio Brown. [01:54:35] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:54:35] Speaker E: You guys are going to make ab famous. [01:54:38] Ronnie Jams: We are this way. So famous with that. Or that'll conclude our trip around the NFL. Kenny, you know what it's time for? [01:54:47] Kenny Thunder: Let's do it. [01:54:48] Ronnie Jams: Let's do it. Another interview in our Browns backers interview series. [01:54:55] Speaker A: What do you say we interview you? [01:54:58] Speaker C: All right. Yes. [01:54:59] Kenny Thunder: That's a sometimes useful exercise. [01:55:01] Speaker C: Please put your hand in. Go ahead. [01:55:03] Kenny Thunder: How much money do you make a year before taxes? [01:55:08] Speaker C: I'm actually not comfortable answering that. [01:55:10] Speaker A: Come on. [01:55:11] Kenny Thunder: We're doing the interview now, not you. [01:55:17] Ronnie Jams: All right, guys, for this Brownsbackers interview, please help me welcome, hailing from the Green Light bar in Nashville, Tennessee for the second time, board member of the Middle Tennessee Browns backers. Craig, Thank you so much for joining us. How are you today? [01:55:37] Speaker C: Hey, it's my pleasure. I'm doing great coming off the win there over the Rat Birds. Love it. [01:55:41] Ronnie Jams: Hell yeah. Listen, we, you know, obviously we do this series to talk about these Brownsbackers chapters and everything they're doing. So tell us a little bit about your chapter. [01:55:53] Speaker C: Yeah, Middle Tennessee Brownsbackers has been in Middle Tennessee since established in 1980. My father in law, Ernie Nagy is the president of the club. We, I think we're around 175, 200 members total. It fluctuates every year from, you know, attendance and all that with the seasons. But yeah, very good. Strong club. Do a lot of donation work. We're connected with the Nashville Humane Society, Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue. We've actually had some dogs brought to our club before and adopted out at some of our events from there, Nashville Rescue Mission, Second Harvest Food bank and the Susan B. Coleman Society. We do all kinds of donation work with that and just, you know, a lot of, a lot of Browns fans coming together and enjoy watching the games together. [01:56:47] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. And speaking of Browns fans coming together, I understand with the game being in Nashville this week, there's, there's a lot going on there. So can you give us kind of a rundown of the events here? [01:56:59] Speaker C: So starting on Friday, all day if you. I think you can go online and there's probably some links provided there that you can sign up for tour buses, for party bus tours. Get the tour downtown, Nashville, Broadway, you know, have a great time with a bunch of other Browns fans enjoying the city and the sites. On Saturday at 7 o', clock, we're going to have our big backer bash at the Green Light. I'm going to have raffles, giveaways, basically all the things you would expect at a backers club club. Just a whole lot of fun. Come out on Saturday night at 7pm Then on Sunday morning we have our big tailgate. That's where you're gonna get together for the game, of course, and enjoy all the tailgating festivities before you head over to the stadium. We do have shuttle buses from our green light bar over to the stadium. You'll have to get back your own way to your car, but there is free parking at the green light, so. [01:57:55] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. And it sounds like just, just big time parties there all weekend long. And this is, Is this the last one? It'll be the last Browns game, at least at that stadium, right? Aren't they? [01:58:09] Speaker C: Right. That's part of the reason why the, in the years past there's been a tailgate more low, you know, closer proximity to the stadium. This time it's going to be at the club because they're building the new stadium right beside the current stadium. So a lot of people, if you want to check out this new dome putting in it is, it is quite the spectacle. It's going to be down there right beside it. So because of that, we're doing all of our tailgating at the club, which is pretty close. I mean we're probably less than six, seven minute ride over. If I had to guess. Somewhere in that range from where we, we meet on our, our normal Sundays to where the stadium is. Yeah. [01:58:48] Ronnie Jams: And so who's, who's dome's going to be better, theirs or ours? [01:58:53] Speaker C: I mean, I personally think ours is going to look. I mean it looks amazing the design that I've seen and that's not even just partial, you know, kind of opinion. But you know, I think, I think the domes are where most of the NFL teams are going to ultimately get to. You know, there's, there's people that are, you know, more old school and want to see those, those December and January games we played in the weather. But I think the NFL's transition to a point where offensive, you know, schemes and things are sometimes better suited in 70°, you know, weather. So yeah, I think it's better for the offense. [01:59:29] Kenny Thunder: I think last week against New New York was a good testament to why we need a dome. [01:59:35] Speaker C: Exactly. Exactly. And I think that's just the direction that in say another 10 or 15 years, probably over half the league or more will be. Will be dome stadiums, I believe. [01:59:44] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Well and in addition to that, I mean we just talk about the weather games and everything. The offenses. [01:59:50] Kenny Thunder: We've. [01:59:51] Ronnie Jams: We had this conversation earlier today actually. The offenses seem to be getting. Getting worse. So everybody should go to a dome to give them all the advantages they can get if they want. Want this to be a truly offensive game. So 100%. But no, I mean that's. [02:00:06] Speaker C: If you're betting man, you always bet unders once you get into November and December because weather's gonna affect those games. [02:00:12] Ronnie Jams: Oh yeah. But no, it sounds like a huge slate of. Of activities you guys have going on down there. And I understand basically half the. The President's Leadership Leadership Committee group is. Is going to be traveling to Tennessee for the game. I think there's like 10,000 fans. I think there's a travel event for the Browns and something else going on [02:00:32] Kenny Thunder: this week should be well represented. [02:00:34] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [02:00:35] Speaker C: Oh yeah. It. I mean Nashville is a city that's really become super, super popular for all walks of life. And I mean if you're going to go to an NFL game, you know, it's not a bad. It's not a bad little parlay there to get into a city like Nashville. Check it out. Should be a beautiful. Far as I know the weather is supposed to be in the 70s. I mean it, it's a lot of what you would hope to have happen for if you're going to go travel and see a game, I would think for sure. [02:01:02] Kenny Thunder: Craig, I'm curious since you live in the area, it feels like even just probably since the last time we talked to you, but Certainly the last 10, 15 years Nashville's changed a lot. You feel like it's changed for the better. [02:01:15] Speaker C: I think that it's a city that's going to need to address its infrastructure and it's a mass transit aspects pretty quick because when you get to a level that you're getting to, you're. You weren't built for this type of population. So that's where it's going to become a little bit of a. It's already a little difficult at times. To travel around. I'm not a downtown kind of a guy generally, so, you know, it doesn't affect me as much. I live in Lebanon, a suburb of Nashville, 30, 40 minutes east of it. But yeah, it's grown so fast that they didn't plan. There's no subway systems. There's no monorails. There's nothing that will get people moved around in a quick way. So. So that is going to lead itself to some problems, if not already, for sure. [02:01:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:01:58] Speaker C: I mean, place. [02:02:00] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. I think when we started traveling to Nashville, that was one of the appeals was it was really easy to get around and maneuver down there. [02:02:07] Ronnie Jams: It certainly didn't even at that time, you didn't. He says. When we started traveling down there we go, it was like 15 years ago. But yeah, I mean, it was easy to get around without those things. And now it's just the last little in there. I'm like, there's a lot of people here. [02:02:23] Speaker C: Right. People have said that it's similar to some degree in. In geographical layout to Chicago because it's a smaller footprint that's kind of grown up within itself. Whereas you take like Atlanta, it's long. You know, Atlanta just goes on and on. You know, you just drive through Atlanta. It takes forever. But it's just one main interstate. We've got three main interstates, 40, 24 and 65. So it creates kind of a four circle. So a lot of everything that's happening is more mid rise. You know, we don't have major skyscrapers, but the downtown skyline has definitely changed substantially in the last two, 10 or 15 years. [02:02:59] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So let's, let's. You know, I would love to talk about Nashville for a long time because I actually do love Nashville and hanging out there. But we're going to, we're going to change gears here. Let's talk about football. Obviously, the Browns, you know, a decent start to the season. They're sitting at 4 and 2. It's top the division. So I gotta ask you, in your honest opinion, are they. Are, are they pretenders or, you know, are they actually. Are they actually going to compete for the division this year? [02:03:32] Speaker C: Well, I'll give you my honest opinion for sure. I think that they are very fortunate to be at 4 and 2. I think that the offense is substantially behind the defense as far as a unit and as far as cohesiveness and how they actually are clean. That, in my opinion, does immediately start at the quarterback position. I think that desean Watson has been very good at the very small amount of time that he had to be very good. Otherwise, I think it's more of just a lot of what he's always done since he's been in Cleveland. So in my, in my opinion, I think that the coaching staff offensively and the players around Watson are helping him look better than he actually is. I think that he needs to read deeper. Defense is better. And I think that, you know, you're going to be in a position where eventually you're only going to get by the skin of your teeth so many times the defense can keep teams under 21. Can we score 22? And so what I mean by that is Monken, I think is doing a very good job of giving this team what Stefanski did not. And that's giving them an opportunity to grow within the team as the team, you know, grows. I mean, their second youngest team in the NFL. But you do have to have a quarterback that can. If you can't win the super bowl, you don't have a quarterback. And I don't mean that in a way like you can have a quarterback, but you do have to at some point get a guy that a is not going to cost you $200 million more dollars, which Deshaun Watson's contract will be if he's on the team March 11. But also that can grow with these young receivers, grow with this tight end, grow with the running backs, allow the offense. The offensive offensive line has not done as bad as many people think. It's been a matter of how many sacks are on Watson, how many are on them. It's a combination of the two. So it's not fool's gold. I do believe they're good. Good enough to win the division? Maybe. I mean, it's hard to say that for sure. I think 10 or 11 wins could win the division. So. Sure. We also are benefited from the low. The easiest schedule in the NFL. There's a whole lot of difference between this year's schedule and next year's schedule. If you to want win 11 games. [02:05:45] Speaker F: Yeah. [02:05:46] Speaker C: You know, you're playing the AFC west next year or you're playing the NFC, you know, north, you know, you're playing a tougher schedule next year than this year, for sure. [02:05:55] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. [02:05:56] Kenny Thunder: That might be the most succinct analysis that I've heard. [02:05:59] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:05:59] Kenny Thunder: This year. [02:06:00] Ronnie Jams: Well done, Craig. [02:06:01] Kenny Thunder: We can probably just go home now. [02:06:02] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I don't even think we need to have the show. We, we talked for two and a half hours and Craig did it in like, I don't know, three minutes. No, I agree with pretty much everything you said there, Craig. And that's kind of what we've been talking about about at length for multiple shows actually is like it's, it's, it's hard because obviously the Browns are playing well, they have a decent defense, but they're so lacking just the one position that really matters that it, it makes it hard to get too excited for anything because it's almost like, well, but we know we don't have that piece to stay competitive long term. So. [02:06:41] Speaker C: So let me ask you guys. I mean I'm, I'm a person. [02:06:46] Speaker E: Yeah. [02:06:46] Speaker C: Well, I'm a person that believes Shador Sanders being a 5th round pick comes along with a 5th round contract. I believe Shador Sanders could potentially be more of a second or third round talent. That doesn't necessarily mean that he is definitely the franchise guy. But if you go through this season and you don't, at least, I mean I don't want to say you want to wish an injury because you don't really want to wish an injury. But if you, you don't ever see it and you get to next season, you're going to be faced with a very difficult decision. You don't know if you got the guy and you might have to go draft another guy to compete with the guy or bring in a free agent. I guess my, my take there is like why have we, we put ourselves in this box? Because Monkin didn't probably want to start with the second year fifth round pick when he had an eight year veteran. But now when it's off said and done, you're really kind of compromised when it begins next season. You don't really know where you're going to go. What Yalls take on that, like your thoughts on whether we should have. I was ready to bench, I was ready to bench Watson at halftime in that game against the Ravens and then he comes out and he does what he's done all year and we've won them for a quarter. But you know, at some point, you know, if you don't, if you don't lose games, you're never going to see Shador. And then I don't know what you do next year. I mean you're yalls opinion. [02:08:04] Ronnie Jams: Well, I mean you asked us and you basically just summed up our opinion again. [02:08:07] Kenny Thunder: So I think you're spot on. Right. I think that that's the whole problem. And I've been sounding that drum literally since they named desean the starter, which [02:08:17] Ronnie Jams: is even before that. It was way Back when he even had a chance to be the starter. [02:08:20] Kenny Thunder: What is your plan here? Because especially as they keep winning games, right? Because you're, you're doing two things, which is one, you're winning games and that's good, but you're also killing your draft position. And, and as we go on, it seems like maybe this quarterback crash crop isn't quite what everyone anticipated anyway. So it may not do you much good to be picking in the top 10 if you, even if you really need a quarterback this year. But I think as the season goes on, you put yourself in a position where, okay, if you keep winning games, you have to start now having the conversation about what do you do with Deshaun Watson next year? Because are you going to cut a guy that won eight to 10 games and, and competed for the, the division? And are you, y' all know about the contract, right? And are you going to resign Deshaun Watt? You're going to extend desean Watson? Like, is that a reality? [02:09:09] Speaker C: Do y', all, y' all know about the contract, correct? [02:09:12] Kenny Thunder: In, in what regard? [02:09:13] Speaker C: Yeah, if he's on the roster on March 11, they have to at that point that day, give him $200 million more dollars. [02:09:22] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [02:09:23] Speaker C: It's written in because of the restructuring, kick the can down the road that if he is not released before that second day of the the league year, 200 more million goes to Watson. And I can't think that that would be, I can't, I just personally can't imagine we would give him another $200 million. Like, I just can't see it. I just don't know how they do that. [02:09:44] Kenny Thunder: But so, but if they win 10 games this year, can you walk away from that guy as your quarterback? [02:09:50] Speaker C: I would like to think that the 10 games that would be one would probably predominantly fall on really good solid defensive play and very good offensive schematic coaching because I don't know that Jador Sanders couldn't have won the games in the same capacity or fashion that Watson's won, to be honest with you. [02:10:08] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I can agree. [02:10:10] Speaker C: And that's a way cheaper. I mean, it's like it was served up on a silver platter that you got a guy that likely could be at, let's just say worst case scenario, third round talent level, maybe second round talent level. And hey, you're only giving him fifth round money and you're treating him as such. So when he, he has to go out, if he does get stabbed, hey, Watson gets injured or Watson falls off and they say we're going to go ahead and move on. He gets to then earn the opportunity to be the starter in real life playing games. Which means that coming into next season, he's not going, hey, it's time to renegotiate and give me a bigger contract. No, you have to play very well for one to two seasons before that contract talk even becomes a thing. So then, hey, guess what? You're out of the $230 million nightmare. You might have a guy that's got to play to get that contract, and he's got weapons of plenty. I mean, Denzel Boston's Mike Evans 2.0. [02:11:06] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [02:11:07] Speaker C: Casey Concepcion is, you know, probably Debo Samuel Zay Flowers, you know, a little bit of both. [02:11:16] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [02:11:16] Speaker C: I mean, very solid. [02:11:18] Kenny Thunder: I think we're right with you there. We'd love to see Shador. I think, you know, he's at least. He's least gives you options. Right. Where I think the conventional wisdom is you're just not going to move forward with DeSean Watson regardless of what happens this year, which to barring a Super [02:11:33] Speaker C: bowl run, I can't envision a world where they could do that. I mean, the fans were ready to boo to a point you've never seen before. And then somehow we went against Tampa, and all of a sudden it was like, well, we won against Tampa. What do we do? You know, we can't. We can't bench him. He just came back, won against Tampa. And again, I've never been a desean Watson guy past the first six months or first, you know, six weeks of him playing for. I was like, all right, yep, this was a mistake. My wife has hated it from day one. You, if you ever since talk to her, she. She hate. She hated the idea. But she was a big Baker fan, too, so. [02:12:12] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, same was a big Baker grand myself and, you know, was never fond of the move to bringing in Sean because of Baker and because of the baggage he had with the Sean and. And clearly it just didn't work out for the last several years. He played really ass football. [02:12:28] Speaker C: So he's a talented football player that psychologically damaged and you see the glimpses of why they made the decision. You see it here and you see it there, but you also see a guy that, you know, RPO was a thing 10 years ago. NFL defenses have caught up to that. You're not what you were when you were 23. You're not as fast, and defenses know what's coming, so, you know, you get what you get, so. [02:12:55] Ronnie Jams: Well, listen, Craig, I would I would like to stay on here and let you talk to Sean Watson and how not good he is all night because look, I like Kenny said, We are 100% in agreement with you. It sounds like we have like a fourth member of our show just regurgitating or at least saying the exact same things that we say we in and week out. [02:13:18] Speaker C: Hey, I'm available guys, you know, if you ever want me on as a [02:13:20] Ronnie Jams: gift talking contracts again on the show. But no, I, I, I really appreciate the insight and I mean I'm, I'm glad that there are some seriously rational people out there because I mean we're starting to get into. People were talking playoffs and Super Bowls and, and you know, he, maybe he's the guy going forward legitimately and I'm just like, guys, slow it down. Come on now. [02:13:43] Speaker C: But take your 9, 10 or 11 win season this year. See what happens if you get to the playoffs, playoffs and then, you know, reevaluate where you are with the rest of the young core talent. That's what you got to do. [02:13:54] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. And so I guess with all of that being said, you know, obviously the game is in Tennessee this week. Tennessee's not very good. Yeah, they just won their first game this past week. But what do you think is going to happen in this game? Do the Browns get the win and what, what's your score prediction? [02:14:10] Speaker C: Sure. Well, let me say this first. I'm, I'm actually very happy that the Titans did beat the Colts because when you play the statistical probability of a winless team each week, each week goes by as a higher chance that they, this would be the week they get off the snide and they actually figure it out. We don't have that to worry about this week. The emotional high of beating a team in your division and the Colts is actually probably more tasking to them than losing to the Colts and coming back home and facing us. So from that standpoint, that's an advantage in my opinion. No, the Tennessee Titans are not good. They are actually asked. Their quarterback tells you that he's ass all the time. So, so that's where you're at on that front. I would like to think the score will be somewhere, let's say 24 to 10. That feels like a good number. Browns win. Okay. [02:15:01] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I like that. And that means they're taking care of business pretty much the entire game, which you, you'd hope. [02:15:06] Speaker C: Yeah, garbage time cuts in down, but it don't matter. [02:15:08] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, I don't want to see another game. I don't want to see another jets game. God, no, no. [02:15:14] Speaker C: But listen, definitely don't. [02:15:16] Ronnie Jams: Again, I, I wish we could stay on all night with you and talk here because this has been a lot of fun and, and you've brought some really good points to the show that, that we've also made at times, so that's always good. But your own, your own spin on things as well, so it was good to hear from you. We appreciate it. If we're ever down in Nashville for a game, we're definitely going to have to stop in and have a beer with you guys. But a couple quick shout outs. Matt from Nashville has been called. One of your, one of your members has been calling into our hot take hotline for several weeks in a row now. We appreciate his hot takes. He's a good guy down there as part of your club. [02:15:55] Speaker C: Wonderful. Awesome. [02:15:57] Ronnie Jams: But yeah, we appreciate you being on. Thank you so much. And like I said, when we get down there, we'll have to stop by. [02:16:04] Speaker C: Sounds great, man. Anytime. And you know, Burning River Sportscast is the podcast for the Middle Tennessee Browns backers. We love having you guys and it was been a great experience on my end as well. [02:16:15] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. Thank you, sir. [02:16:20] Speaker C: You're listening to the official podcast for the Middle Tennessee Browns backers, Burning River Sportscast. Go Browns. [02:16:33] Ronnie Jams: Good time talking to Craig from the Middle Tennessee Brownsbackers, huh? For the second time, I'm jealous of [02:16:37] Kenny Thunder: Craig because I like Nashville and he lives there. [02:16:40] Ronnie Jams: He does. He lives in Nashville. They have great barbecue. Edley's Barbecue. Anybody that's going. Edley's. That's just a free plug because I love Edley's. [02:16:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:16:48] Kenny Thunder: Didn't get paid for that one. [02:16:49] Ronnie Jams: No, I just love Edley's Barbecue. [02:16:51] Kenny Thunder: True, though. Anytime I'm in the area driving, I try to make it a point to stop at Edley's. And Edley's started out as, I think just one store and has grown into a chain now of. You mentioned seven or eight restaurants all [02:17:01] Ronnie Jams: the times we've gone to Nashville. And when we first started going there, it was a fairly new restaurant. [02:17:05] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [02:17:05] Speaker C: Yep. [02:17:05] Kenny Thunder: Down on, what is that, 12 south over there? [02:17:07] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. But, yeah, and that's the best one. Go to that one. [02:17:10] Kenny Thunder: Edley's is great. Yeah, I always try to go to that one because it's. It is the best one. It's the original and the best one. [02:17:15] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [02:17:15] Kenny Thunder: In a cool part of town, too. A lot of stuff to do down there. But I could, I could talk Nashville logistics all day long. [02:17:20] Ronnie Jams: Don't get me started on Nashville. I could talk all day about Nashville. Euthanasia, eg. [02:17:25] Kenny Thunder: Leg porker. [02:17:26] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Oh, yes. But anyways, yeah, a bunch of stuff going on down there this week. So we're jealous of everybody that's going. If you're going, make sure you get lots of barbecue, make sure you go to lots of parties. And cheer on the Browns as they beat the Tennessee. [02:17:39] Kenny Thunder: The walk over the bridge is longer than it looks. [02:17:42] Ronnie Jams: Be prepared. [02:17:45] Speaker F: Walk. [02:17:45] Kenny Thunder: It looks like, ah, this is going to be not too bad. Like, it's pretty. It's pretty fair. Walk. [02:17:50] Ronnie Jams: It's long. [02:17:51] Speaker E: All right. They just walked around home. [02:17:53] Ronnie Jams: Oh, nice. [02:17:54] Kenny Thunder: We're gonna need about six more of those. [02:17:55] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. But we talked about a little bit with Craig. But I think it's time to dive into this week's game with the Week 7 preview. [02:18:10] Speaker E: All right. [02:18:10] Ronnie Jams: This week we have another game that the Browns should win. We have the Tennessee Titans. And with every preview comes another edition of Kenny's Cliff Notes. [02:18:24] Kenny Thunder: So this is going to be the most abbreviated Cliffs Notes in the history of Cliffs Notes. Because I, as I said at the top of the show, lost all of the notes that I've been working on for the past 24 hours. They just vanished into thin air. So obviously, we have the Tennessee Titans this week. So that starts with Robert Sala as our head coach. [02:18:43] Speaker C: He keeps receipts. [02:18:43] Kenny Thunder: He keeps receipts. That's pretty much what I had in my notes about Robert Sala. Disgraced former head coach Brian Dabel, former offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, is their offensive coordinator. And Gus Bradley is their longtime defensive coach. Probably been around the league more than Ronnie James's mom. [02:19:03] Ronnie Jams: He's their D.C. i should have known you had no notes. So you're just falling back to Ronnie. Jams mom jokes reductionist. [02:19:11] Kenny Thunder: But Cam Ward, not all that good. I think he's throwing for a thousand yards on the season. Less than a thousand. I was like 998. Four touchdowns, four picks. [02:19:19] Ronnie Jams: That's pretty bad. [02:19:20] Kenny Thunder: It's struggling. There's no other way to put it. He's struggling. He's up against it down there. People aren't real happy. They're talking about drafting another quarterback. You know, kid has potential, is good athlete, his good mobility, good arm. He could turn things around, but he's gonna need a lot of help. Tony Pollard and to J. Spears don't really offer that kind of help at this point in their careers. Tony Pollard's the established guy that's down there. T.J. spears is more the change of pace back. They do Have Carnell Tate, who's had a nice rookie campaign. Wandell Robertson coming over from New York, not all that good. Calvin Ridley, Ellic. I am Manor out there as well. Tight ends, Gunner Helm, Daniel Bellinger. I don't know that I'd expect a lot, whole lot out of those guys this week. This offensive line, you know, no one to write home about this defense, honestly. Jeffrey Simmons is probably their most important piece there. Anthony Hill Jr. Is a nice middle linebacker. The secondaries average at best. Joey Sly's good kicker. Tommy Townsend, veteran punter. I don't know. Like I said, my. My notes disappeared. So look, here's the deal. They're. They won their first game last week, so the good news is they're less desperate than they were a week ago. But look, this is a game on paper the Browns should win, so they just need to go out and take care of business. But again, apologies for that preview is I kind of mailed it in this week because I lost all my notes about a half hour before we started shooting. So there you go. That's Kenny's Cliff Notes. Go Browns. [02:20:49] Speaker E: Go Browns. [02:20:51] Ronnie Jams: Go Browns. [02:20:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:20:54] Ronnie Jams: And with every edition of Kenny's Cliff Notes comes another edition of Ronnie Jams. [02:20:58] Speaker C: Ronnie Jams. [02:20:59] Speaker F: Match. [02:20:59] Ronnie Jams: Doesn't matter. [02:21:08] Speaker A: All right? [02:21:08] Ronnie Jams: I got two matchups that matter this week. [02:21:12] Kenny Thunder: That's how many you usually have. [02:21:14] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, you're welcome. First one, Denzel Ward versus Carnell Tate. Ohio State match up here. The up and coming wide receiver versus the Unk db. So Unk. Yeah. Denzel Ward still got a lot left in the tank. Carnell Tate still got a lot to learn. [02:21:30] Kenny Thunder: His tank is empty. [02:21:33] Ronnie Jams: Carnell Tate doesn't have a really good quarterback, so. [02:21:36] Kenny Thunder: True. [02:21:37] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. We just need to watch this one, though. That's. That's one of their major weapons on offense. And if Denzel Ward can lock him up, we're, you know, we're that much closer to a victory here. [02:21:46] Kenny Thunder: Lockdown on the Cumberland. [02:21:48] Ronnie Jams: And I don't know what you even say half the time anymore. Jeffrey. Jeffrey Simmons versus Elton Jenkins, which. Why do you even have a silent G in Elton Jenkins? [02:22:01] Kenny Thunder: Maybe it's because he is the silent G, The OG he moves in silence. [02:22:09] Ronnie Jams: Maybe. But anyways, Jeffrey Simmons versus Elton Jenkins, best player for the Titans, probably in our offensive line, has struggled this season. Simmons harassed Sanders last season, if anybody remembers that. He was kind of all over him the entire game. So just keep an eye on this matchup, see if he's able to. To get after Deshaun Watson get home. We are going to giving up a lot of sacks, like the second most sacks. It doesn't seem to matter anymore though, because we just win games. [02:22:37] Kenny Thunder: All we do is win, win, win, no matter what. [02:22:39] Ronnie Jams: Lots of commentary here. I appreciate it. [02:22:42] Kenny Thunder: I forgot this was your segment, but [02:22:45] Ronnie Jams: anyways, in summary, the Titans, their current record is one in five coming off their first win against the Colts. Like you said, no longer desperate. So far this season, their Defense ranks number 19 overall, 343 yards per game. Given up past defense, number 17 at 220.5 yards per game. And run defense, number 21 with 122.5 yards per game. Their offense is number 32, dead last in the NFL at 236.3 yards per game. Their running game is number 27 at 82.8 yards per game. That's one of those ones that you said was ranked below us. We're almost. No, we are. We're a full 10 yards more than them per game. [02:23:22] Kenny Thunder: Look at us go. [02:23:23] Ronnie Jams: And then the passing game. They are dead last in the NFL at 153.5 yards per game. That is piss poor. As much as I think desean Watson is bad, Cam Ward might be worse. And then next up here, obviously we're going to the Browns. The Browns are 4 and 2 right now, coming off a gritty win against the Baltimore Ravens, sitting atop the division. Never thought I'd say that after week six, but here we are so far the season number 13 overall in the NFL on on defense, giving up 317.5 yards per game. Number nine against the pass at 205.2 yards per game. And number six, 17 against the run at 112.3 yards per game. Then on offense, they're number 29 in the NFL, not much ahead of the Tennessee Titans, 267.5 yards per game. Their running game is number 24 in the NFL, 94 yards per game. And their pass game is number 25 at 173.5 yards per game. In every game there is that one thing that if executed properly, unlocks the path to victory. So let's bring in the big bone man, because we like to to call that bone man's skeleton key to victory. [02:24:34] Speaker E: All right, I'm keeping it simple this week. [02:24:36] Ronnie Jams: Keep it simple, stupid. [02:24:38] Speaker E: Their offense already isn't that good and I think our defense is going to do a hell of a job against them. They only have, as you mentioned, 82 yards per game. I say our defense holds them to 75 yards this game. And we, we are going to win. [02:24:52] Kenny Thunder: Stop the rock. [02:24:53] Speaker E: Stop the rock. [02:24:54] Ronnie Jams: 75 yards rushing or less and we win. [02:24:56] Kenny Thunder: Yep, that's the key. [02:24:58] Ronnie Jams: Bam. [02:24:59] Kenny Thunder: Skeleton key. [02:24:59] Ronnie Jams: Skeleton key to victory. Kenny, what's the betting info on this one? [02:25:02] Kenny Thunder: Don't know. Lost it. [02:25:03] Ronnie Jams: No notes. We're not, we're not a big betting show anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I don't think anybody comes to us for betting info so they won't be mad. I think the Browns were actually favored in this one though, so. But anyways, players to watch. We'll start with Kenny because he has no notes. Kenny, who's your player to watch? [02:25:21] Kenny Thunder: I'm gonna go Denzel Boston. I had one catch for 15 yards last week. [02:25:26] Ronnie Jams: Little disappointing. [02:25:27] Kenny Thunder: Big drop on third down. He's had a nice start to this year, but you know, this offense needs all the help it can possibly get and Denzel just needs to be a bigger part of that. I mean even in the jets game he only had three catches. I think he did have the touchdown but in the rain. But he just needs to be a focal point point of this offense going forward. So we got to get more out of that guy. [02:25:46] Ronnie Jams: Absolutely. [02:25:47] Speaker A: Bone. [02:25:49] Speaker E: I'll go defense. Let's go with the joker. I just think he's gonna have a big game. He'll be everywhere making plays. Let's give him a sack and in 10 tackles. [02:25:59] Kenny Thunder: Let's give him a sack. [02:26:00] Ronnie Jams: Give him a sack. And then I am going to go with. I don't. We gotta get some offense. So I'm gonna have to go offense in this. I'm gonna go Harold Fannin Jr. The dude is more open than anybody in the NFL. Get him the ball. [02:26:18] Kenny Thunder: Shouldn't be that hard. [02:26:19] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, it's not hard. It's not hard at all. Unless your name is Deshaun Watson. Get him the ball. [02:26:23] Kenny Thunder: It's not hard at all. Just like Ronnie James. [02:26:26] Ronnie Jams: That's true. I'm not hard at all right now. But that'll do it for the Week 7 preview. Let's go ahead and get into the King of the North. All right, King of the North. In case anyone doesn't know by now, this is our year long AFC north pick' em competition at the end of the season. Whoever comes to last place gets punished. In the preseason three years ago, Kenny had aggressive eggs thrown in by fans. The muni lot before a game. In the preseason two years ago, Kenny has hair and beard shaved clean off. Last season, Kenny down the pads for the first time in almost 20 years. And got hit three times by our guy, Big John Hughes. Still to come this season for losing last year, Kenny will be getting Brazilian wax. Kenny, any new thoughts on this? [02:27:08] Kenny Thunder: Man, zillion. I just did my armpits in my chest this weekend. [02:27:12] Ronnie Jams: Oh, in preparation. Those are. That's some information. Thank you. [02:27:17] Kenny Thunder: Yeah. [02:27:18] Ronnie Jams: And the loser of this season's King of the north punishment is to be decided. We were supposed to have it by today. We failed, so we'll have it next week. I'll say maybe butthole tattoo. I don't think it's gonna be a butthole T tattoo, but, I mean, if [02:27:32] Kenny Thunder: Andy Bernard can do it, everything's on the table. [02:27:35] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. Anyways, regardless, I'm sure it's gonna happen to Kenny. Although it's getting further and further into the season. It seems like it's getting scary. But anyways, let's get into it. First things first, I want to remember, everybody, I am the reigning defending King of the North, Kenny Clown. [02:27:50] Kenny Thunder: Thank you. [02:27:51] Ronnie Jams: Let me remind everyone of our current records. After week six, Bone and Kenny both sitting at 11, 11 and nine, and I am trailing at eight and 12. One day, I'm gonna be over.500. [02:28:03] Kenny Thunder: Good job. [02:28:04] Ronnie Jams: Let's get into this week's games. First up, the Ravens host the Bengals in a divisional matchup. Bone, who you got? [02:28:14] Speaker E: I'm gonna go Bangles. [02:28:16] Ronnie Jams: Bangles. [02:28:17] Speaker E: Cincy Cats. [02:28:19] Ronnie Jams: All right, Bones got the Bengals. No reason why. He just has the Bangles. Kenny, [02:28:25] Kenny Thunder: I'm. I'm gonna go Bengals as well, just because. And again, I lost my notes on this, so I'm just doing this from memory. But. But Lamar, if he comes back, you know, he's coming back off of injury. Tyler Huntley didn't play all that well last week, and that Bengals offense has been pretty good to this point in the year, so I'll go Bengals. [02:28:43] Ronnie Jams: I hate you guys. Every time I want to pick a team, and I think you guys are going to pick the other team, you pick the team that I want to pick. I want to pick the Bengals here. [02:28:53] Kenny Thunder: You should pick the Ravens. [02:28:55] Ronnie Jams: Quit gassing me up, man. Kenny's just like a give. Let's get further ahead of him. [02:29:00] Kenny Thunder: You gotta crawl back. [02:29:02] Ronnie Jams: Kenny's smelling blood in the water. He's just like, you gotta make moves, man. [02:29:07] Kenny Thunder: You gotta get back into this. [02:29:08] Ronnie Jams: Oh, man. [02:29:09] Kenny Thunder: A lot of divisional matchups still to come. [02:29:15] Ronnie Jams: I'm gonna go Ravens in this one. Yeah, they're at home. It looks as though. Because. Because they. He. He thought maybe he'd be able to get back against the Browns. So it looks like Lamar Jackson's gonna be back in this one. You got King Henry, who's probably pretty pissed off that the Browns embarrassed him a little bit this past week in the Bengals. Defense is not very good, so I'm gonna go Ravens simply, simply because I gotta pick against you, but I'm gonna say simply because they're at home. So Ravens in this one. [02:29:46] Kenny Thunder: Ravens just lost to the Browns. [02:29:48] Ronnie Jams: That's true, but The Browns are 4 and 2 in the top their division, so, you know, next up, we got Pittsburgh heading to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Kenny, who you got? [02:30:02] Kenny Thunder: I still still not a huge believer in the Saints. They're better than I think most people think they are. And if they're at home, they probably stand a good chance in this one. But Pittsburgh is just like, randomly good sometimes, and if Pittsburgh plays well, well, I think they win the game. So. But I think if everything goes wrong, the Saints could get back into this thing. But I'll go. Pittsburgh wins this one. [02:30:22] Ronnie Jams: Yeah, this one's. This one's actually a tougher game to pick than I. I think people realize because the Saints have put up a decent amount of offense, if I'm not mistaken. They just can't seem to win games. They're 2 and 4, but they are at home. That place is a pretty tough place to play. [02:30:39] Kenny Thunder: So I think this game's in France. [02:30:41] Ronnie Jams: Oh, is this game in France? They got. They got the Florida Lee, so, you [02:30:47] Kenny Thunder: know, New Orleans probably stands a better chance in this one because they speak the native tongue. [02:30:50] Ronnie Jams: That's true. Didn't think about that. I'm going to go Pittsburgh, though, just with these. With these games. I. I think there is something to be said. Even though he'll probably hurt worse than most because he's old. Talk about Aaron Rodgers here. Veteran presence, all that stuff. He'll probably hurt worse than most, but he'll be able to. To provide some stability, jet lag and kind of like that frame of reference as a veteran for these overseas games that they're playing. So I'm going to go with Pittsburgh in this one. [02:31:19] Kenny Thunder: Quick note on this one. It'll be interesting to see if the game day operations are at all interrupted by just everything going on over there. I mean, I don't want to. [02:31:27] Ronnie Jams: It's surprising that they're into a bunch [02:31:28] Kenny Thunder: of geopolitical stuff, but. But there's a lot of bad stuff happening over there right now. [02:31:33] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. So I'm surprised they're. They're going through with it. But anyways, Bone, who you got? [02:31:38] Speaker E: If I would have went first, I would have picked the New Orleans. But since you told me it was in France, I'm picking [02:31:46] Ronnie Jams: should. A note to self, always pick Bone first. All right, so we all got Pittsburgh. And then last up, the Browns try to stay hot against a terrible Titans team in Tennessee. Alliteration aside, I'll take my chances with the Browns this week. I got the Browns winning, but I think it's going to be a lot closer than everybody else thinks because we have no offense either. So I'm going to go Browns 17. I'll bump them up a little bit. We'll go Browns 20, Titans 13. Bone, who you got? [02:32:24] Speaker E: I will say Brown 17. 17, Titans 15. [02:32:30] Ronnie Jams: And Kenny, who you got? [02:32:32] Kenny Thunder: Gosh, it's so hard to pick the Browns to win. [02:32:35] Ronnie Jams: Don't do it. Pick the Saints. They're not even playing in this game. Pick the Titans. [02:32:40] Kenny Thunder: And Tennessee is at home. But look, I think if the Browns are any good at all, like this is a game you on paper you should win. You have to go out and take it. They're just such a wild card because you never know how Deshawn's going to play and he's probably going to play bad. I'll go Browns in this one. 23:17. [02:32:59] Ronnie Jams: All right, so we all have it fairly close with that. Let me remind everybody to call the burger sportscast hot take hotline. [02:33:05] Kenny Thunder: Call the hot take hotline. We want your hot takes. [02:33:08] Ronnie Jams: We want hot takes. We want hot takes. We want hot takes. 3302-2780-8133-0227-8081-3302-2278-0813-2278, 0813-302-278081 and we are recording on a Monday. Thanks a lot, Kenny. The Guardians officially lose. This is your your fault. [02:33:23] Kenny Thunder: Good year. [02:33:24] Speaker A: You. [02:33:24] Kenny Thunder: It's a good year. [02:33:26] Ronnie Jams: Take all that off. You can't wear that anymore. [02:33:27] Kenny Thunder: It's a good year. [02:33:28] Ronnie Jams: No, you got to sell your jersey back. [02:33:31] Kenny Thunder: That was a good year. [02:33:33] Ronnie Jams: Be sure to check out our gear www. Etap media.com shop that'll do it for us. Kenny, what can we expect next week? [02:33:38] Kenny Thunder: Well, since the Guardians won't be in the world series, we will be on live on YouTube Facebook index as we recap, the Week 7 matchup against the Titans should be on right around now. [02:33:48] Speaker A: Sunday night. [02:33:49] Kenny Thunder: Yeah, Sunday night. And then next Thursday we're back with our week eight preview episode for the game against. Hey, we got Pittsburgh again. That's exciting. But in Pittsburgh this time. So who knows another Brownsbackers interview if we can find one out in. [02:34:03] Ronnie Jams: No, I think I have an idea of where we're going for this. [02:34:05] Speaker A: We haven't. [02:34:05] Ronnie Jams: We haven't announced it yet, but it's. I got. I got an idea. [02:34:08] Kenny Thunder: Okay, well, we'll have another one. Tbd. [02:34:10] Ronnie Jams: We always have another one. Check us out on social media. [02:34:55] Kenny Thunder: I lost all my notes. [02:34:56] Ronnie Jams: Oh, we don't. We don't have extra days. [02:34:58] Kenny Thunder: I had some really good French facts with the international game. [02:35:02] Ronnie Jams: Dang, man. Feels bad. [02:35:04] Speaker C: What a. [02:35:04] Ronnie Jams: What a. What a time to be alive. Mind you, this couldn't happen to like, this is just appropriate because Kenny is the worst. Worst technologically of like, anybody ever. [02:35:16] Kenny Thunder: This one. [02:35:16] Ronnie Jams: Not anybody ever. But he's pretty good. [02:35:17] Kenny Thunder: This one wasn't my fault. I was literally just making some updates right before the show, and it disappeared. It vanished into thin airs. [02:35:24] Ronnie Jams: This will teach you to ever update your computer again. [02:35:26] Kenny Thunder: I guess so. [02:35:26] Ronnie Jams: Yeah. [02:35:27] Kenny Thunder: So no facts today. [02:35:28] Ronnie Jams: No facts. That feels bad. Bone, what do you think about that? [02:35:31] Speaker E: Well, you know what? I'm kind of tired, so I don't mind. It shortens the show. [02:35:38] Ronnie Jams: That's fair. [02:35:38] Kenny Thunder: Bone's not mad. [02:35:40] Ronnie Jams: Nope. Phones.
